Guest Reviews
- Anne (9/5): -
- Caitlyn C. (10/5): - Lovely rustic country cottage withing a 2-5min walk to the heart of Richmond.
Lovely rooms which accommodates 6 people and space to have lunch or dinner.
I loved the backyard space with the outdoor setting and BBQ.
- Joel (8/5): Lovely family get away in peaceful location - Staff were attentive. Beautiful heritage building in lovely little hamlet with easy access to shops and markets. Great big kitchen and dining room. Sizeable backyard. Twin beds were a little small and creaky.
- Geoff (4/5): Nice cottage but not worth the stress of the Truvi process that they require - It's a nice cottage in a good location I made a 'last minute' booking so I was required to pay the rental fee in full at the time of the booking, which I did. I then received an email from Booking.com to say that the booking was complete. However, I then received a series of emails from someone/thing called Truvi. These emails demanded that I send to them a copy of my government identification and my credit card, before the booking would be accepted (despite having already paid in full to Booking.com). Having never heard of this entity, I suspected a scam, so I sent a message via Booking.com to the owner/manager of the property listed on Booking.com. The response said 'no, not a scam, we have engaged Truvi to verify people who want to book our properties'. When I said there was no mention of this in the listing, the response was 'it's in the fine print', which indeed it is in the 'legal' section. Now I've used Booking.com for many years as a retired person who travels a lot, and have never even thought to look in the legal section of a listing. So I think that including this information like that is misleading. Further, all who make a booking are required to pay a non-refundable $35 fee to Truvi for their services. This of course adds $35 to the booking price, which again one can only discover by checking the 'legal' section of the listing. This in my view is also misleading and deceptive. As I had made a reservation that was non-refundable, I had no choice but to pay the fee, and to provide detailed personal information to Truvi. One clause in the Truvi contract suggested that all items in the property should be photographed on arrival, otherwise 'it would be difficult to prove that you didn't damage things'. It also says that Truvi will determine if anything has been damaged, and that Truvi will decide the 'penalty' to apply.
- Mei Lin (8/5): - Location Only one bath
- Gerard (8/5): - Great location
- Tas (7/5): Ok - There was no breakfast No iron available in the property. Paltry 100ml of milk in the fridge. Just felt a little mean and stingy. We paid a premium rate.
- Jodie (8/5): Very good - Fantastic location Very comfortable
- Brad (8/5): Very comfortable & enjoyable stay - Lovely comfortable cottage in a great location only a short walk to the Richmond shops
- Mitchell (9/5): Great stay for a family of 6 - Great proximity to the centre of town.
Lovely little cottage. We had 6 of us didn’t have long showers and the hot water lasted. Comfy beds. Heating in all the rooms which was much needed.
Great overall stay.
- Diane (8/5): A quaint cottage, well located in Richmond - The cottage is well located in Richmond, a short walk to the main street and the old bridge. It comfortably accommodated us and our extended family. It is an old cottage but is well heated with a/c, a wall heater, and additional small heaters. The kitchen is well stocked for a larger group with a large gas BBQ outside. The furnishings are a little dated but clean and comfortable. The communication with staff was fast and efficient. We enjoyed our stay in Richmond.
- Williams (9/5): Superb -
- Karki (10/5): Exceptional -
- Trevor (9/5): Great place for a couple of days with damkkt - Great location, private and close to centre of Richmond, nicely renovated old cottage, plenty of room for family of 5
- Lisa (9/5): Such a lovely quaint town and the accommodation was within walking distance to everything in town thoroughly enjoyed our - Lovely property and location a beautiful town. The house was nice and clean and had everything we needed for our stay on the south east part of Tassie The cleaner turned up half an hour before we were due to check out and sat in the driveway while we were packing up which made us feel like we were under pressure to leave
- Ruth (10/5): Exceptional - We were one block back from the main road in Richmond which is all of a 30 minute drive into Hobart. It was lovely having a house to ourselves with a full kitchen, washing machine and clothesline We found the bathroom to be a little tight but that really didn't impact us very much
- Helene (9/5): Would definitely stay again - Cottage is in a perfect location, walking distance to the town. Excellent communication from owners. All facilities were clean and working. Bedrooms beautifully prepared and the stand fan came in really handy on a hot night. Nothing it was perfect for our needs
- Madelaine (8/5): Very comfortable stay in a clean and cosy cottage in the heart of Richmond - Clean, comfortable, good amenities. Great location, easy walking distance to Richmond town. Sometimes challenging to organise things through a booking service. Eg cot was requested at time of booking but request was not received, had to confirm again closer to date. But otherwise communication was prompt.

- Daryl (10/5): it was a great stay in this well maintained property with a great location in Richmond Tasmania. - great location within walking distance to everything in Richmond it would have been nice to be greeted by the proprietor as we were visiting from another state and had questions which could be answered with an initial meet and greet. a personal touch required, not just take your money and leave you to it.
- Rakesh (2/5): very disappointed. - Location the agent managing the property was awful.
