• Maria Cecilia (8/5): It is good enough for the price and if there was no unpleasant smell I would have rated it higher. - The rooms were spacious, affordable and close to immigration check point. There was a pungent smell when once you enter the building. It smelt like a broken severage pipe which was definitely not pleasing for guests. Good thing that it was only in their lobby and did not extend to the rooms.

• Maryam (8/5): Good location on a budget - Clean room, no unpleasant smell on bedsheets/pillows and towels. Everything works well (smart tv, good Aircon and fast hot water). Huge jug was provided to fill water. Soap quality could be improved,😅

• Muhammad Ishak (7/5): - The hotel is very near to shops, restaurants and mall and even CIQ (not reachable by foot). The staff was very pleasant and the hotel room was fine. Good water pressure and great aircond (I was freezing at night). Water filter on the corridor to keep yourself hydrated. The road in front of the hotel is under construction, you will not be able to park your car there - thus, there will be no free parking within the vicinity. The lobby had a weird sewage smell?

• Htet Phyo (8/5): - Newly built hotel. Clean rooms. Cost effective. The rooms are not sound proof. Keep hearing the door slam from the neighbour rooms. There is no dedicated car parking slot.

A water dispenser is located just near the lift lobby was easy to access for all the rooms We had an issue in the first assigned room toilet on the same level, it's quite obvious, the house keeping should have informed the management and stop from being allocated to guests at first instance, well the front staff have immediately assigned another room after verifying with a pic in her handphone ..thanks to the lady who was helpful and sorted out smoothly...
• Digant (9/5): Value for money, close to shopping malls and restaurents - Everything is clean , everything works. Waterpressure in shower is also very good. Staff is very friendly and professional. Liz at check in desk is an excellent person. Location , but that is not under their control. Ongoing construction work!

• Ying-kit (10/5): Spacious room with good amenities - Staff are attentive, room is spacious, location is excellent, great hairdryer. The construction work around it, at no fault of its own. Water from the shower cap is weak at times.

• Tze loong (2/5): Bad experience - Location is good The hotel is not well maintained and it’s dirty. The Aircon smells of black mold. If only if they kept the place clean and Aircon properly service it will be a good hotel for short stay.

• Maricris (10/5): Wonderful Stay in Kingston while exploring JB the first time. - I like that it's in the heart of JB, where I can walk around the location that I wanted to go to. Tan Hiok Nee Heritage Street is nearby, which I can walk to and explore the neighborhood where the hotel is located. Staff is approachable too. The place smells of a newly painted room. I assume they renovate the room, which is okay. The smell is not so bad and is manageable. Though the railway construction is so near to the hotel, I was not disturbed by the noise, which is a good thing. Overall, I had a wonderful stay. It's affordable and clean.

The room was small and had an unpleasant odor, which affected m - Negative I don’t think is the best hotel to stay, and the location place and the road of hotel under construction. Never ever mention us there a renovation there. Quite not safe for people who stay there go out everytime and dark places.

• Hani (5/5): - Friendly staff, only that.. But only the Indian lady is friendly.. The rest, no comment.. Very dusty.. Once you draw the curtains to get some light from outside, you can see dust flies all over the room.. Its very dusty, even the side table & the long table(below the mirror) are very dusty.. I wonder when was the last they wash the curtains & clean the room.. Its time to change the kettle in the room.. You can feel the electricity static on the table once you turn on the kettle.. Location wise is also not good.. Very far from CIQ, VERY far i meant.. & the whole area is very dimmed & quiet at night.. Its so scary & unsafe.. Hotel rate was also expensive at the time i booked.. For a hundred dollars, you could get a better one.. Overall, not going back here at this hotel.. I would rate 2 or 3 if you ask me.. Go find a better place, since this hotel smelled nausea.. Im not condemning, it is the truth that this hotel smelled of chocked drainage.. Very smelly..

The street in front was temporarily closed due to construction so we had to get to the main street via a small dark alleyway. It would help if there's a light on the path.

• Kym (4/5): Stay at ur own risk - Maybe location near the malls. Water dispenser provided at the lobby area. Good for people who bring bottle to refill. We drove in, tried hard finding the place. Then we realised the main door was facing construction, totally blocked up. Next, we reached the lobby, the staff was ok, but made me wait twice, unsure whats the issue. Maybe due to the rainy season, there's mosquito around. I was issued 1 door card to my room and only upon request, she gave up 2nd card. In room, firstly, towels were on the bed, curly long hair found in the towels, the pillow and bed have strands of hairs also. Toilet lock is rusty, toilet didnt have any place to hold the clothes or the toiletries. Aircon whole night is churning sounds. And no way to change the temperature. Cups were given with kettle. Coffee sachet was opened. Last but not least, not sound proof, able to hear clearly when people walk past.

• LeeLian (3/5): 2 stars motel, although clean but moldy smell, not worth the price - nope Location is far and dark from city square, hide behind the road construction, almost missed to find the place at night time. It was not safe for a single lady to find the hotel at night. The facility was quite old, although it was maintained clean, there was one moldy smell. The room was small, no issue for solo traveller, but not spacious as claimed on the picture. Moreover, the TV was spoilt and not available. It was considered as 2 stars motel, not worth to pay for the price as high as RM238.

• Guest (5/5): Passable - The lobby was nice. There’s construction there, so there is no way the car could drive in. It’s not too far from the road still so that’s ok. It’s right beside a mosque so at 5am the prayers were really loud, then constructions begins at 7am. Basically a very noisy morning that disrupted our sleep. If you’re one who wakes up for morning prayers then it shouldn’t be a problem.

• Angelo Banfi (7/5): - Great location for the train from Singapore. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Bed linens were super clean and comfy. Nice hot shower. The common area carpets are in desperate need of steam- cleaning, or better yet, ripped out and replaced with flooring. Ventilation in the room isn't great so it is damp and smells musty. This was supposed to be a non-smoking room but somebody was smoking next door and we could smell it.

• Bh (7/5): Short & relaxing stay. Short walk to CIQ via Komtar. - Go via Amma Restaurant is easier to find Kingston Hotel, short walk down round the shop's corner. Clean, relatively new hotel, simple room deco. We had a large family room with 2 big windows. Request for a quiet room with 2 pillows - enjoyed 2 restful nights here. Tastefully decorated lounge area with Christmas lightings, Welcome drink & water dispenser & toilets. Just a note - RTS construction works still on-going. We are not affected. There is a covered walkway - after Fives Hotel/Petrol station to the hotel. One malay stall half way thru walkway - some foreign workers there. I would be hesistate to walk alone at night there - being an enclosed area. Better to go via Amma Restaurant - which is on the left at a lane opposite Komtar/beside Fives Hotel. Just a suggestion - 1) Sign for Kingston Hotel not clearly visible. A bit hard to find Kingston Hotel especially when dark. From Amma Restaurant there was a sign on WALL FACING THE ROAD but it is not lighted. Why not light it up? Would have been easier for your guest to find hotel/see from the road in front of Amma Restaurant. We arrived during day time so not much of an issue. 2) Just one hook in the bathroom. Very closed to toilet bowl & shower area - wet when shower. Suggest add additional rack/hook for clothings. Washing basis has ants.. even when we placed our toothbrush in a cup, the ants are there as well.
