Guest Reviews
- Ismaela (10/5): -
- Joseph (1/5): Overpriced and no longer the resort it once was - The room was wonderful, the hot springs are amazing. We’ve been to this resort any many others in the area. we live close enough to come to la fortuna often but don’t usually stay over. We didn’t want to leave the premises for our stay only one night. So we ate dinner at the restaurant they also have a buffet we choose the restaurant. It was overpriced for the meal we were served. I ordered the jalapeño lomito tips. This should be filet mignon pieces with a jalapeño sauce. I was served a horrible grizzly cut with no sauce.
- Wolfe (9/5): Pools were amazing, great restaurant lunch and dinner -
- Tully (10/5): Wonderful and hope to come back soon. - Great facilities and food and had a great time. The room was spectacular Could hear the family next door yelling and kids being very loud.
- Kori (10/5): We loved our huge, beautiful room and loved the hot springs. - The hot spring pools and slides were amazing It was expensive and the cocktails were $20-$22
- YIBO (7/5): Good resort in general, but you will be paying for the pools and hot springs, not the rooms - Large balcony, many hot springs Room detailing and materials seemed a bit cheap and sloppy
- Eva (8/5): We enjoyed the visit - Food was OK, one person at the desk wasn´t kind as the other personal Pools are good, location, rooms are clean
- Jose (9/5): Very nice and relaxing stay, but I don't think I'll come back again - The breakfast was good, no coplains.
The different pools (they are not swimming pools) are very good.
The room was nice. Very clean.
Room was spacious and comfortable The TV was very small. And not really good tv service. The food and drinks are excessively expensive. No need for those prices. $12 on a beer in Costa Rica is absurd. $30 on some nachos same.
The towels looks like they are a theme in the hotel, because mine were stollen from one of the pools. Amazing. And each lost towel is charged as $30.
I think that $600+ per night is a little bit too much. No that the hotel is not nice. But I believe these are way to expensive prices even for Costa Rica.
- Hagit (8/5): not recomended if one look for a quiet place - Our room was amazing, it was a mini suite spacious with a view 1. The shower in the room had the hot springs water but without a proper stream for shower.
2. Hot springs was very crowded

- Luis (10/5): -
- ZONIA L (10/5): - Todo Escribi dos veces y no me respondiero
- williams (5/5): Great, but probably won’t come back - Clean beautiful Staff aren’t friendly. The value for anything was not posted for drinks was over $130 American absolutely ridiculous if you want people to come back and make sure you have a value proposition?
- Collin (6/5): - Pools were great Overpriced, less than friendly staff, no alcohol. 2 night stay and the room came with 1 portion/packet of coffee, I asked for another one for the second morning and they said I had to pay for it. At this price point, something like that should be included.
- Sandra (10/5): -
- Sileny (10/5): -
- TING (7/5): - hot spring is comfortable. Deposit and the restraunt requires cash which make no sense.
- Keylin (5/5): -
- roberta (8/5): -
- Donald (4/5): Wouldn't return unless ownership dispute resolved. - Room was nice. Kids pool was cute. Dispute between families who owned the resort meant no alcohol on property and armed guards everywhere. Pool bars closed, even for soft drinks. Definitely had a Disneyland atmosphere.
- Raja (1/5): - The front desk staff were rude. I have requested an additional key, and they said they don't have enough to make one. At the check-in, they mentioned that alcohol is not served in the resort due to an expired permit, but the next day at dinner, they served wine to other guests. When I asked about it, they mentioned that for special-ordered food, they will serve wine. The rooms were satisfactory, but the customer service was subpar. Don't waste your money. There are many good hotels around.
- Nancy (10/5): Hotel was beautiful but had some issues like no alcohol and lights were broken on deck, - Beautiful, clean and comfortable Too crowded, no accommodating, no alcohol and mo activities were available to book.
- nicolas (2/5): $3,900 scandal – stay away from this tourist trap! - The pools scandale à 3 900 usd – fuyez ce piège à touristes !
------
$3,900 scandal – stay away from this tourist trap!
stay from december 22 to 25, 2025 (room 1401). we paid $3,905.29 for three nights in what claims to be a luxury resort. the reality is an absolute disgrace :
* lies regarding services : the hotel has lost its liquor license but never warns you before your arrival. you pay the full premium price ($1,300/night) for a diminished experience.
* complete contempt for guests : management suggests that guests go buy their own wine at an outside shop to drink it at the restaurant. this is unworthy of such a standing.
* shady practices : on christmas eve, the restaurant was deserted and gloomy. to top it off, the staff offered alcohol illegally "under the table" to make up for management's incompetence.

- Baozhong (10/5): - Excellent
- Robey (3/5): - We love the water park but it's always under construction. At the time their liquor license was not in order so they could not serve us alcohol a big bummer. Breakfast was mediocre. They did have good chocolate cupcakes. Very expensive for bottled water. We spent a fortune on water. I had to purchase liquor outside of the resort alcohol was not being served that night due to a licensed issue. Definitely not worth the money. Next time we'll try a different Hot Springs. Very overrated. My dad wanted me to write a terrible review I thought my review was fair. Not served alcohol. License issue.
Bottled water is too expensive. 12 dollars for 2 Large Bottles, that is crazy. 🤣 358 a night is way too much for the stay.
- Eugene (10/5): - A wonderful stay at the hotel with mineral water pools: clean, cozy, and completely relaxing. The mineral water is incredibly invigorating, and the tranquil atmosphere, cleanliness, beautiful greenery, and attentive staff made the stay truly comfortable. A huge thank you to all the staff. We were in PARADISE!!!
- Guest (10/5): Great! - The many hot springs!
- Henry (10/5): Perfecto - Todo muy aseado excelente Todo bien
- Eduardo Benedit (1/5): Pésimo. Engaño. - Me devolví.

- Cleveland (9/5): Credit card users beware - The entire place is very nice. I booked here rather than other hot springs resorts because this place had the waterslides. The slides were a lot of fun! They are a lot faster slides than what you would expect. The sign says they are extreme slides and I would agree! As much fun as they are, they will also bang you up a bit so don't be surprised if you get a couple bruises. The room was fantastic with a nice balcony and great seating. I liked that a lot of towels were provided in the room. The lunch buffet restaurant was also very good. There are problems checking-in here by using a credit card. They don't have a proper credit card machine that you can insert your card into and enter a PIN number. They only have a TAP option. This is a big problem if you are using a foreign credit card that has a dollar limit for TAP. Many cards can't TAP above a few hundred dollars. This is an expensive hotel so the amount being charged to the credit card will be in the thousands so TAP likely won't work. What are you going to do? Pay cash? I think the whole payment system here is a big problem that management needs to fix. Every place of business around here has a proper credit card machine so why doesn't this place? It makes things much more difficult for their guests.
- Jeffry (8/5): -
- Liliana (10/5): -
- ana lucia (10/5): AMO BALDI, ¡HOSPEDENSE ACA VALE MUCHO LA PENA!
- Adriana (10/5): Increíble - Absolutamente todo Nada
- Richard (9/5): Geweldig - Mooie locatie, heerlijk gegeten en lekkere cocktails Door overlijden eigenaar konden we alleen met contant geld betalen
- dbarquero (10/5): -
- Joselyn (10/5): -
- Alfredo (9/5): A little expensive but good quality - Well maintained and very clean. Good food at menu restaurant Very expensive cocktails at the pools
- Dadi Rabin (10/5): -
- carrasco (10/5): -
- Mwalhain (9/5): very nice, would book it again with kids, but for adults only I would book a more tranquil hotel - Food was good, Staff were very responsive and accommodating. Beautiful property! Great for kids however strange that they do not offer a cribs service in your room. While it is very child oriented.
It got very busy with just day visits what was less nice but they have many pools to choose from so in the end it did not spoiled our stay.
- Alfredo (10/5): Hotel vs Day Pass… - 25 piscinas de Aguas termales Day pass users
Its a better deal to stay in a cheaper hotel and pay the day pass.
- Steinmetz (6/5): Pleasant - Hot springs were fun
Good breakfast
Had umbrellas in the rooms
Nice staff
Had AC
Hot water
Nice spa, good massage Too crowded
- Rami (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bennett-maxey (5/5): Passable -
- Mukta (5/5): Beautiful hot springs but not worth the price staying here. Just get a day pass. - Beautiful property, clean, best hot springs , very picturesque Too expensive for the price paid, breakfast was very basic, should add more options . Servers didn’t even check on you once you were seated, even though there were only 8 guests and 5 servers .
We had to pay for stay right away, even though booked way in advance. They charged $150 security deposit that should’ve been refunded as soon as we checked out but took them 4 days.
Won’t be staying here again, may be better off just getting a day pass for the springs
- William (9/5): This is a wonderful property and we would definitely stay here again. - Pools were beautiful and relaxing. A lot of walking up and down hills.
- Fulton (9/5): We enjoyed the facility very much and would recommend again. It is a very unique experience. - Facilities was very nice. Having a wide variety of pools available was exceptional Within the documents of rules and procedures, it was difficult to see the true customer service aspect. It was overwhelming with rules where extra costs would be added. It was like the intent was to shake down all customers down for more money whenever possible. The coffee shop does not open until 0800. For early risers, this does not work well. There is nothing outside the facilities within walking distance. We did not enjoy the Buffett for the cost. The items offered, are the cheapest options for a Buffett for the cost. It is evident the owners are only interested in making money vs having a good customer experience.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (9/5): Superb -
- Rebecca (9/5): Low season meant quiet and no crowds. It was a wonderful experience! - The hot stone massage I got at the spa was amazing! The room and the hot springs were great! The bar menu was good but not great.
- Eli (10/5): Exceptional - All was perfect planing to come back
- Eligio (10/5): Exceptional - From check-in to check-out, the staff was friendly and had a passion for service. A massage at the Spa is a must. All areas and pools are very clean and well maintained.
- Joey (1/5): Bad - Nothing So many day pass people that you cant enjoy the pool for the people that paid to stay there and drinks are way over price.
- Dilawn (10/5): Excellent definitely recommend 5 stars🌟 - Friendless of staff and wide variety of hot springs as well as continental breakfast Wifi
- Tomas (6/5): It is a good hot spring hotel, yet it is a 3 star hotel with mid-low quality service, food and rooms. Price is too high - Hot Springs and location It is a 3 star hotel, not 5. It costs as a 5 star hotel. It is also full of people spending the day in the hot springs.
- Marsha (10/5): Exceptional - The atmosphere and service was exceptional. The staff went out of their way to make sure you were comfortable. Of no fault of the Baldi, but could not maximize the use of the facilities secondary to extreme rain.
- Janice (10/5): Kids had a blast - Pools and slides Everything was perfect
- Jayda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (7/5): Good - The springs are amazing Food wasn't good considering the price of the hotel. I never knew till i stopped here that pizza is ala carte!
Just watch as the hotel is up to something regarding reservations. You book with booking.com, and then they cancel your booking and message you directly. We wanted an extra night, and they quoted 900 dollars. we booked online for 280 dollars.
If it wasn't for the springs we wouldn't stay. The place gets very busy with bus tours
- Kendall (7/5): Good -
- Angili (10/5): Conscious traveler - I really like they have a variety of choices at breakfast. Pools are clean. Very relaxing there should not be a charge for the snacks in the room.
This should be complimentary! Very disappointing
- Jon (9/5): Wonderful relaxing stay. - The hot springs were wonderful.
Great location for going on excursions and easy to get in to La Fortuna.
Rooms were big, comfortable and air conditioned.
Breakfasts had a lot of choice, which varied day to day. The fresh fruit was delicious.
Staff were all friendly and helpful. Nothing.
- Lance (10/5): Relaxing and peaceful at times. - Waterfalls and hot springs everywhere. It was amazing. Slides for the kids. Food was okay. Fresh fruit was amazing. The slides were extreme and some of them pretty dangerous and you could actually get hurt on them. My biggest complaint would be they sell day passes for people outside the resort and it floods the hot springs with hundreds of people. On Sunday over 800 were there a total zoo. When they all leave it’s peaceful and nice. So we mostly played outside the resort during the day and hit the hot springs at night.
- Emily (1/5): Complete scam. Will never stay there again. - The juice make was neat. Horrible. I’ve had better options and quality at most best westerns that were a 10th the price.
- Warner (7/5): Nice springs, busy with outsiders - Variety of pools. Onsite restaurant. Swim up bar. The ac was broken upon arrival and they took the next couple days to get it working. The day pass population was massive so the place felt pretty packed despite the few guests.
- Vinod (5/5): Not value for money, staff was rude and food sucks!! - We dined at Virgita restaurant in Baldi Hot Springs Resort Hotel & Spa. Regrettably, the food quality was poor, with one dish stale and shell pieces in the seafood soup. Despite being assured we wouldn't be charged due to our dissatisfaction; we didn't sign the receipt. Yet, the next day during checkout, the resort added the dinner charges, contrary to the prior agreement. Although we hadn't signed any receipt or invoice, we were obligated to pay.
- Dana (8/5): Beautiful property with tons of hot springs - This place is beautiful. It’s a vast property with so many different hot spring pools. The property is beautiful and lush and right in the middle of a rainforest and town. The breakfast was fantastic and the staff was very good. The room was very large and clean. The only thing we didn’t like was that the property sells a lot of day passes for people to come enjoy the hot springs. This is common in this area with other hotels but there would be buses dropping off tons of teenagers/people and it really took away from the ambience for hotel guests. The breakfast was fantastic but the rest of the food is just okay.
