Guest Reviews
- Victoria (10/5): Great host - answered all of our questions promptly! - Great location - great workout on the steps 😍 Comfortable bed and linens - beautiful views Balcony a little small for 2 people to use.
- GC (10/5): -
- Steve (9/5): Perfect for a couples short stay - Excellent location and views. Great facilities
- Aitor (10/5): - La ubicación, la distribución y la privacidad del apartamento.
- Craig (8/5): Great break right inside the old town walls - Great location inside the walls but at the top of the walls so lots of stairs
Had everything we needed No negatives
- Jazzmine (9/5): Great location and cute apartment - Super location and very cute apartment. Looks just like the pictures
- Luke (10/5): Beautiful apartment for a stay in Dubrovnik perfect location - Host dom was excellent , always available to answer any questions needed , went above and beyond to ensure we had the best stay possible
Lovely apartment in ideal location Everything was very good
- Maram (7/5): It was plesant, the host was nice and available on 24 hours basis. If you dont have big luggage go for it. - The interior was beautiful and cozy
Bed is comfy
View is nice of the city walls and towards pile gate
Got extra blanket when we asked for it
Changed the towels during our stay It’s up in the old town, too much stairs to go up and down daily, but worst of all we had large luggage, it was a torture to bring them up from the main gates of the old town.
Had to watch out for pumping our heads in the sealing.
- Jacky (10/5): - Very comfortable bed. Shower excellent. The balcony looking out onto the wall was entertaining and the view at night lovely. Our host Don was most helpful and quick to respond to any questions we had. The directions to the property were clear and made the arrival easy. Cant think of anything
- Ashleigh (10/5): - I had a wonderful stay at Imperia! As a solo female traveller, I felt completely safe - the area is well lit and easy to navigate, even at night. The location couldn’t be better, just a short 5-minute walk to the main street and close to everything. The apartment itself is beautiful, with stunning views from the balcony and all the amenities you could possibly need. The host was fantastic - great communication, very friendly, and provided clear instructions for check-in. I’d absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Dubrovnik!
- Julia (10/5): -
- Sonia (10/5): - Exceptional location with superb facilities.
Dom gave spot on directions and instructions.
I don't think you could ask for a better view over old Dubrovnik Nothing, just prepare for the steps, but no different to the rest of old Dubrovnik
- Amy (7/5): - The unit was very nice and just as pictured. The views were beautiful from the tiny balcony. The hike up the 110 + stone steps to the property with luggage was pretty exhausting. Best to plan to not go back and forth too often. And although you will want to shower every time you make the trip up all the stairs, you will only have a single towel each for your stay.
- Jaron (8/5): - Great location, great communication with the Dom. Clean room. Nice balcony overlooking everything. Everything was great but the room had a little bit of a sewer like smell to it. Not sure why.
- Angela (10/5): A great apartment in a beautiful city - Great location at the top of the old town, right beside the city walls. Super views out to the fort and the sea. Soooo many steps (110!) to reach it from the main street, Stradun. We generally used the other way which has fewer steps and goes along the top and down to town.
- Barbara (6/5): Although it was advertised fairly, I expected to like it a lot more than I did. - Very quiet. AC works well eventually (after initial 1-2 hours)
Has fridge and quick boil kettle
Has comfortable couch that a small adult could sleep on. Sort of cute. Small balcony nice for reading at night. Terrible initial trip up 100 tall cement stairs with suitcases in the heat, at night. Bad written directions to find place. Other guests the next night were also lost and suffering. (I later sent Dom my suggestions for how to word the directions.) Layout of apartment 3 makes it hard to avoid hitting your head in the sloped cement wall above bed. I hit my head 4 times in in the first day (jet lagged). Very terrible smell from cleaning products and no fan to blow it out . Also a whiff of sewer smell in unit and in old city in various places . So it looks very clean but it smells bad. Bed rather hard; could use a plush mattress topper. No coffee maker. Dom said “there are cafes right nearby” but these are up and down very steep staircases.
- Jessica (7/5): Amazing hosts and gorgeous views! - The hosts were extremely responsive and helpful, and the room had a great view, AC and a small fridge. The location is great in terms of being in old city, however with large bags it was extremely difficult and tiring to get to. The location was difficult to get to with bags, the shower was very small.
- Waldemar (10/5): -
- Michael (8/5): -
- Ranelle (10/5): enjoyable - Very clean and had everything we needed - the host Dom was extremely helpful with anything we needed. Over 150 stairs to get to apartment so u need to be fit
- Lani (10/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): -
- Megan (9/5): A clean and comfortable home base to explore Dubrovnik. - The apartment was immaculately clean and comfortable with everything you need for your stay. Access was challenging with many steep stairs to navigate with luggage, however this was the case for most accommodation in the old town due to its geography.
- Ceri (10/5): Exceptional - The bed was super comfortable, good aircon. And the balcony was fantastic. We loved sitting in the morning watching people walking the walls. All good!
- Ron (10/5): Wonderful and ideal place to stay in the old town. - The property is very well maintained, clean, and in great location. The host, Dom, is very responsive and a nice gentleman. The housekeeper is also very responsive to our requests and inquiry.
- Phoebe (9/5): Fantastic stay ! - We loved our stay here , such a great location and you get an awesome view from the balcony - host was very helpful .
- Ravi (7/5): Nice little place, but has lots of stairs to reach - Nice beautiful balcony, clean room, near the wall, great view, near buzza bar, helpful staff ( they increased our checkout time by an hour and gave extra towels without any issue) , has kitchen to cook something. The property is nicely located but like all other reviews, the stairs to the place could be too much for few. it was okay for us but still doing up and down few times in a day could become hassle. Also one more thing about the room we had (with balcony) that it has quite low ceiling due to being in the attic and we bumped out heads quite a few times which was annoying and I am not even tall.
- Giles (10/5): Great apartment. Wish we’d discovered it earlier. - Great location, lovely flat, well equipped, good communication. No negatives; it was great.
- Jayne (10/5): Absolutely unreal apartment, 100% recommended - The apartment was absolutely beautiful and in a great location. The host Dom was very helpful with great contact throughout. I will 100% come back. Thank you for all your help Dom 😁
- Claire (10/5): Perfectly situated to take advantage of all Dubrovnik has to offer - It was perfectly situated to take advantage of all the historical sites we wanted to visit plus we loved the view from the terrace overlooking the walls. A real gem 💕 Nothing - we loved it & Dom is a great host 😎
- Carole (9/5): Worth climbing the steps - The view from the balcony was amazing, large, comfortable bed, and great hotwater shower. There is no plug for the sink, so a lot of water was wasted while washing up.
- Holly (10/5): Dom was an excellent host who was always available when I had questions. Beautiful stay in a beautiful city. - Perfect little apartment in the best part of old town with an absolutely fabulous host! Dom went above & beyond for us.
- Sarah (10/5): A great time exploring a wonderful place - Excellent location and everything needed was provided
- Wendy (10/5): Loved the experience of staying in Old Town - - quick responses from owner
- clean, colorful decor, good layout
- helpful directions displayed
- very comfortable bed!
- balcony looking over the city wall & fort
- lots of convenient places to put our things - Even the stairs that don’t lead anywhere were useful. It was our prep station for the things we needed the next day.
To get to Imperia, there are a lot of stairs because you’re in the Old Town, but as a senior citizen I survived the trek many times. It was worth it!
- Shitika (9/5): Superb -
- John (8/5): Great location and view in the old city. - Dom is a really responsive owner. I like the location, top right of the old town. Everything is less than 5 mins away inside the city walls. The aircon was a great joy to me , the shower was good. Views good as top floor apartment. Bed comfy. Balcony with views over the city walls and the Pile gate city. We loved getting up early , before the cruise ships roll in, having a stroll around the town and watching the sun rise from the rocks or old port, grabbing a fresh croissant and coffee on the balcony, then coming back to the old town after 5 after a day trip. Honestly can't think of anything
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Glenn (10/5): Wonderful stay, couldn’t ask for a better host - Very attentive and accommodating host
Apartment was clean and comfortable
Lots of TV channels available if you wanted to watch sports or movies To have the great view provided, the apartment is difficult to get to. There are over 100 steep steps and for someone with walking difficulties, this could be too far while carrying luggage.
This is not any fault of the apartment itself, just the geography of Dubrovnik can make it hard to get to
- Helen (10/5): A great place to stay! The owner was really helpful. - The location was perfect. Away from the throng in the main square in a quiet corner of the city, although near the wall so you are in view of the people walking the walls. All good
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - The location was amazing. Great views of the old town, the wall and the fortress.
The host Dom was lovely and very informative of how to find the apartment and also very helpful with questions prior to arrival. The sofa was rather uncomfortable but not a big issue for us as we werent using it to sleep.
The 110 steps to the apartment weren't fun but the location outweighed this.
- Duffy (9/5): Superb - Lovely apartment, stunning views, Dom was a great host Steps, 110 of them, if you have heavy cases this is difficult to get to
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Jan (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable beds, very clean,
loved the balcony. Host was so sweet and very helpful. We had a lot of trouble finding it. It was also over 40 degrees, so we were very very hot and bothered by the time we arrived.
- Michael (9/5): We had a wonderful stay at an apartment filled with character! - Location, cleanliness and an amazing host - so helpful and obliging! Didn’t realise how many steps it took to reach it but got used to it!😄👍
- Olivia (9/5): Superb -
- Caroline (9/5): A fabulous cozy apartment - The apartment had a brilliant view across the city walls and beyond. The bed was super comfy which is very important to me as I have a bad back. The air conditioning was excellent. There are 103 steps up to the apartment. But to be honest the apartment was so lovely that we didn't mind.
- Anonymous (10/5): Defintitely stay here if you are visiting Dubrovnik. - We loved the apartment, it was really cute and super clean. The bed was very comfortable and the apartment was spacious. Dom our host was easily contactable and gave us very clear instructions on how to find the apartment.
It was right in the centre of old town, which we loved! And the fact the balcony was right by the city walls was great, waving hello to the walkers in the morning was great fun!
We would highly recommend this apartment, the location was fantastic right in the thick of it. The only thing to be mindful of is the amount of steps to get to the apartment, with our heavy suitcases and the very hot heat it was tough! But then I guess Dubrovnik is simply steps everywhere so it’s to be expected.
If you are visiting Dubrovnik definitely stay here! Nothing, it was all great!
- Vicki (9/5): Superb - We loved the apartment, it had everything you could need for a few days away. And the balcony made it, views were fabulous especially at sunset 🥰 Not really a down side but you should be aware there are lots of steps to it. But even then you get amazing views along the way 😍
- Matt (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kirsty (9/5): Superb -
- Alex (10/5): Amazing views, modern and clean apartment - Our stay at Imperia was amazing - we had the balcony apartment and the views are absolutely incredible, potentially some of the best you can get within the old city! The apartment itself was spotless and modern, comfy bed, all the amenities you’d need. Location is great, we could get anywhere within the old city in 10 minutes or under. Dom was a great host, really responsive and allowed us to store our luggage on the last day. There are ALOT of stairs up to the apartment from the center so be aware if you have lots of bags.
- Lorna (9/5): Fabulous location! - Location was fantastic and the air conditioning was a great addition.
Dom was attentive and available to assist when needed. Floors not as clean as they appeared.
- Sarah (10/5): Wonderful Short-break in the heart of Dubrovnik's Old Town - A pure gem of accommodation which is perfect for a couple spending a few nights away. Great location, well equipped and very clean with a fantastic, very responsive host. We loved spending time on the balcony watching the Alpine swifts and soaking up Dubrovnik's wonderful vibe. We highly recommend Imperia - Chic! We were completely happy with our accommodation at Imperia - Chic!, and so it is very hard to criticise. Our only thought was the shower cubicle could have been a little larger, but this certainly would not put us off booking again.
- Hazel (6/5): Very cute and authentic place on the steps of Dubrovnik! - Right on the walls of Dubrovnik, have a real feel for the town! Apartment was clean, cute and stayed cool on hot days! Host was super! Despite the title, this apt did not have a balcony which was quite misleading and slightly disappointing on arrival. Lack of natural light. Situated on a busy street and there was some construction undergoing behind a locked door which was a bit distracting.
- Patricia (10/5): Excellent - Great apartment. Excellent location & very clean. Enjoyed the little balcony. Dom was a great host, very responsive to messages.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional - Very nice apartment finished to a high standard throughout. Small balcony overlooking the town.. Dom our host was very helpful and responded very quickly to any questions. Nothing
- Steve (10/5): lovely flat at the top of davrovnik - great view nothing
- Michelle (10/5): Great Gem of an apartment. - What a delightful apartment great decor, views, comfort, set out and amenities. Loved it.
Up loads of stairs but so are most in the Old City.
Right near the wall overlooking the Fort.
Aircon was a plus, very welcome.
Dom is a superb host even sent us detailed photo directions up to the apartment.
We had a delayed bus departure unexpectedly and Dom graciously allowed us a late check out and luggage store.
Highly recommended and we will come again.
5 star treatment thank you Dom. Nothing. All was amazing.
- Eldred (9/5): Lovely accommodation that is beautifully decorated! - The property was beautifully decorated. The property was nicely laid out and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. Well equipped. The location is very good. We loved staying there! The access to the property is via lots of stairs and will probably not suit older people or people with disabilities.
- Helen (10/5): Stay was idyllic - Location could not be better!!! Right next to the main attraction of Dubrovnik, the wall.
