Guest Reviews
- Mauro (7/5): Very nice cottage, but sleepless nights when raining - We have been travelling for a while in Australia & New Zealand and the interior of this cottage has been the nicest we have seen so far: modern, nice wood, no carpets, comfortable bed, lots of windows (9 shades to bring up every morning is a good morning exercise🤠) giving lots of natural light and a nice view of the surroundings.
The cottage is very clean, including kitchenware (which is pretty rare), bed lined and towels. Only exception: the barbecue, which I would have expected to be better cleaned and entertained before guests arrivals.
The location is nice, surrounded by trees and plants, while the vineyard seems currently a bit let down and abandoned, possibly taking a sabbatical year. Nice to watch and various birds flying in the area. The roof and the position of the cottage under a huge tree (Chinese Banyan, we believe): the first night, it was raining almost non-stop and we managed to sleep just a couple of hours because of the constant noise of the rain on the roof. Moreover, the tree is full of fruits which are falling in big quantities (we did not count, but at time several dozens an hour) throughout the day and night, worse when raining.
As other guests mentioned, indeed the street is pretty noisy from 7am to 7pm. It is very quiet at night, though.
Internet was very unstable and slow.
No smart TV i.e. no APPs such as Netflix or YouTube, etc.
- Paul (10/5): A delightful place to stay while visiting the Barossa cellar doors - Setting was beautiful. Facilities excellent. Breakfast supplies top quality
- Emma (8/5): Lovely stay. - Quiet, comfortable. Able to bring our dog. Lots of flies inside on hot day. Couldn’t work out how they were getting in.
- Paul (9/5): -
- Paige (10/5): - I liked the scenery, the location, the aesthetic of the hotel Nothing everything was absolutely
- David (10/5): A great escape for couples. - Lovely and peaceful property. We didn’t see the host at all. Large and spacious with a collection of quirky DVDs to entertain you. Everything went smoothly. Would definitely stay here again.
- Sheryl (10/5): Handy to vineyards and small towns and attractions. - It was cosy, and loved walking around the property Nothing
- Sophie (10/5): It was a great place for three nights. A great spot for cycling, to play golf and visit wineries. - Privacy was great. Location was perfect for our needs. Size of accommodation suited us perfectly.
- Julia (10/5): Perfect - Although it’s next to the landlord’s house, it’s very private and not too close to them. The place was clean and perfect for a relaxing stay. We did a bike ride from there to the lavender farm, and I highly recommend it. the views along the way are STUNNING, with lots of beautiful wineries. We arrived at 9pm after dinner and the gate was locked and the password didn’t work but we managed and was all fine.
- Navoda (9/5): Everything we needed for a relaxing getaway - Our stay was fantastic. The accommodation was clean, stylish, and very comfortable, with everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. The location made it easy to explore, enjoy the scenery, and unwind in a peaceful setting. Highly recommend!
- Barbara (10/5): Perfect spot for exploring wine country and relaxing. - Food provided was just right. Lovely personal touch of home made bread rolls and home grown and marinated olives. Plus fresh eggs.
Location perfect as we were visiting vineyards. Able to easily get to the Clare Valley, Barossa, Adelaide Hills and even Langhorne Creek. The property is amazing. Beautifully landscaped, great walks and tons of birds day and night. Much more than a studio and felt very Scandinavian. Great hot shower, too! Happy with everything…..but the gate was a bit of a hassle.
- Daryl (9/5): A beautiful location with a super comfy bed!! - Excellent location, with beautiful views and one the most comfortable beds I have slept on. They also provided a nice selection of breakfast materials and snacks.
- Em (10/5): -
- Duncan (10/5): - Bonza was a beautiful ambient little cottage stay, very cosy and sweet. Breakfast options were tasty, comfy bed and had all you needed. Nothing really we didn't like, we loved our experience at bonza
- Adriano (9/5): A very romantic and well-located accommodation option for a visit to the wine districts of SA. - In terms of location, It's Bonza is well placed for day trips to various wine districts of South Australia; we saw Barossa, McClaren Vale and Clare Valley. We also spent a day in Adelaide City as it wasn't very far.
The accommodation itself was well appointed with all one needs to cook a decent meal. I enjoyed using some of the rosemary growing outside our cabin to cook a potato bake. The bench top oven has more power than one would think! Nelly's homemade bread rolls are absolutely delicious - we scoffed them all within two days of arrival. The selection of breakfast cereals and biscuits was generous, and we never went without quality tea and fresh coffee grounds.
The shower had great water pressure and the hot water was plentiful
Nelly and Stan were very responsive to our needs as guests. The washing machine had a minor issue and within minutes of alerting them to the problem, Stan arrived to resolve it in a very friendly manner. In addition to this, Nelly went to the trouble of posting us our forgotten iPad charging unit. You couldn't ask for better service.
All in all, I would highly recommend a stay at It's Bonza. A very romantic option! The bed could have been a little firmer, however, my husband and I are in our 60s and used to sleeping on our high-end mattress at home. A younger couple probably wouldn't have our back issues!
Some form of storage in the bathroom would be ideal. We made do with an occasional table taken from the living room
- Cassandra (9/5): Superb -

- Ella (10/5): Exceptional -
- Clemence (9/5): Wonderful stay, very responsive and kind host, good breakfast, lovely property - The high ceilings, beams, natural light Soft bed (personal preference, some may love that), traffic noise pollution
- Mia (9/5): Superb -
- Lynda (9/5): Superb - Described well, clean spacious comfortable Hard to find, the sign needs to be outside the fence along the road.
- Derek (9/5): Lived up to expectations. It was really well kitted out with everything you need for a comfortable stay. - Location, privacy and openness
Liked the local wine, honey, olives etc The front gate was tricky.
- Hafner (10/5): Exceptional -
- Briony (10/5): A very enjoyable stay. The location is nice and peaceful while room is cozy and has everything you need - The location
- Karl (9/5): Superb -
- Rob (9/5): Bloody Bonza mate! - Location was beautiful, waking up surrounded by nature. Breakfast items and homemade honey, olives and fresh eggs were a wonderful touch. We will definitely be back soon.
- Michelle (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely property.
Peaceful and comfortable.
Friendly helpful hosts.
- Russell (8/5): The breakfast was a real disappointment. Also a lot of road noise from trucks at all hours. - Loved the cottage outlook. Lovely picture windows to look out and dream. Nibbles were a lovely touch. Included breakfast was a bit disappointing - weetbix with long life milk and normal sliced bread. Would have loved some yoghurt, muesli and a bakers cob or sourdough bread.
The nibbles were a nice touch but not homebrand please.
- Lei (8/5): Very good -
- Melinda (8/5): Very good - Beautiful peaceful and perfect location for us
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Leon (8/5): This is a great cabin to stay in on the southern edge of the Barossa Valley. Highly recommended! - Very clean and tidy with a lovely outlook to the vineyard. A gorgeous spot for sitting and relaxing while watching the sunset and enjoying a glass of wine. The items for breakfast were very basic and didn’t include bread which was a little surprising. There was also quite a lot of road noise however, we are used to living in a very quiet country area and hence for most people this would not be even noticeable. Once the doors and windows were closed it was fine.
- Logan (10/5): Relaxing, Comfortable and quiet. - The amazing host! The beautiful location and the extremely comfortable bed.
The amenities were fantastic.
And the atmosphere was extremely relaxing. Nothing!
