- Janine (7/5): Interesting, adventure at Norms place. - The view was spectacular. Great location really private. The property was rundown. Windows rusted in place in the bedrooms and cold air and noise making it impossible to sleep. The chairs around the fire pit were unsafe and one completely broken. The fridge was rusty and leaked water onto the floor. The lounge chairs inside were small and uncomfortable. There was a coffee machine but no instructions for use and no coffee beans. The packet provided with dish liquid had broken and dish liquid over the garbage bags etc. The boat shed was a mess. The latches and slide bolts to shut the gate on the rear entertaining area and boat shed were rusted and broken. The outdoor blinds were in poor condition and the anchor points rusted off. Unable to use the hammock due to no hanging point.
No wood for the fire pit. Front gate had no latch. Front porch has no roof and it poured rain on our first night.
- Diane (8/5): Incredible views and location, comfy beds, well equipped house, great value for money. - Stunning location and views, multiple fire pits, well equipped kitchen Dishwasher needs a good clean (including filter), and on a likely related note many of the dishes in the cupboard weren’t clean.
Two sachets of dishwashing liquid is nowhere near adequate for a two night stay for 6 people! A bottle of dishwashing liquid would have been appreciated.
- Bruce Chater (9/5): A lovely family stay - AMAZING views
- Lisa (10/5): Beautiful relaxing place thank you - The private spot, quiet with beautiful views Maybe more comfortable sofas
- Jo (9/5): A great place for making wonderful family memories. - The location is simply amazing- such a beautiful spot right on water.
Was great to be able to enter at 1.pm The key issue was that the rooms were like ovens to sleep in. There were ceiling fans but because there were no screens on windows or doors you could not open them to allow a breeze in. Was actually stifling. Realise air con is an expensive addition but the installation of screens would certainly make a huge difference. A set of windows in the end room were actually rusted shut but realise you get that being so close to ocean- again though a simple maintenance solution. For the cost of $500 per night you would consider this a given.
We did text Stradbroke Island property managers with a question about lights but received no reply.
The cost for cleaning seems exorbitant- over $400.

- Linda (10/5): Pleasantly surprised upon arrival by the property and the location - We loved the location and the quaint "vibe" of this beachside property. The kitchen was very well equipped and the locally sourced coffee beans added a nice welcoming touch to our holiday experience. The communication and service from Mel our host was exceptionally good, any little issues were quickly rectified. We couldn't fault this property.
