Guest Reviews
- Gareth (7/5): Comfortable stop over in Port Douglas - Very comfortable bed, large room. Effective, quiet air conditioner. Responsive owner. Car parking was hit and miss. We had a large vehicle and were lucky enough to find a parallel parking spot with plenty of room. But some of the other spots weren't so good. The resort was quite a way from the town centre.

- Saroj Chandra (8/5): - Friendly staff, flexible and good location
- Erik (10/5): Comfortable stay with parking close to the beach - Sonia is very friendly and helpful. She had a room available when we arrived earlier so she let us check-in which certainly helped the jet leg! The bed was comfortable and the wifi was fast. Room was clean and plenty of towels. When I booked it I originally thought that the booking was direct to Ramada. Sonia is a private owner who owns a few apartments in the same complex. This had very little impact on our stay but just an FYI
- Troy (8/5): Good value for money. - Port Douglas is a great location and always a pleasing experience. Air Conditioning Could Be Colder, Just Needed A Bigger Unit Due To The Weather In Far North Queensland.
- Anna (10/5): -
- Caroline (8/5): Short stay but very enjoyable, great dinner at the resort - Pool area N/A
- Elisabeth (8/5): -
- Michael (10/5): Great room, Great location, Great host! We will be back! -
- Simon (9/5): - Great location, the room was large, comfortable and clean Bathroom could do with an up-grade
- Joanne (10/5): - Lovely room ☺️great to have a good size fridge. Plenty of kitchen utensils and crockery. Comfortable bed and plenty of towels
- Jobin (8/5): -
- Newton (10/5): Goes above and beyond - would 100% recommend. So glad we booked - Perfect - has everything you need and in a great resort Nothing
- Essy (8/5): -
- Muanfaan (10/5): - Relaxing, clean and very comfortable. Sonia is great and super responsive. Nothing!
- Lorna (8/5): Perfect for an overnight stay or a couple of nights. - Big room, very clean and had what we needed. The pool is great to relax in at the end of the day. Food was ok. We were too tired to go out for food. The room was very dated. It was clean but the bathroom especially needs an update and TLC. A lick of paint would also help through the whole room.
- Janice (10/5): - Beautiful pool, beautiful and large room, no hassle check-in, too bad we couldn't stay longer!
- Haggie (10/5): I WILL BE COMING BACK LOVED IT - ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE ROOM. The bed was extremely comfy I didn’t want to go home very spacious. The restaurant was so nice to have so we didn’t have to go out all the time. The pool areas nice and clean and all the activitys we could do eg trivia couldn’t say
- hamid (9/5): - Great clean room
- Anthony (8/5): - Great option for visiting the area around Port Douglas. Very nice to always find parking very easily as well, nice benefit. Very comfortable bed!
- Black (10/5): -
- Swanson (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Rachel (10/5): - Everything we needed was in the room. The full fridge would be great for any length of stay.
Loved the pool. The bathroom is showing it's age but that's what's happens when it's well used. We recognised that a refit would increase the nightly rate
- Louisa (10/5): -
- Diogo (10/5): -
- Marc (8/5): - Beautiful location and layout of Resort; overall the Resort needs to be refreshed and renovated as appropriate
- peter (7/5): Resort facilities great - room disappointing - Swim up bar was good In Nov pool water is too hot and coming from NZ poor beer selection on tap plus it was expensive. Dinner average. Bathroom very worn and shower head inflexible. Room also faces neighbouring resort so view not great either.
- John (9/5): A very helpful owner - The pool was great and the availability of bike with the apartment was really good.
- Tyler (9/5): It was lovely and relaxing swimming, cocktails and a massage at the Day spa Perfect....... - My husband and I needed a relaxing mini holiday and that's what we got great location quiet, beautiful resort pool to lay around a swim up bar for cocktail's lovely restaurant to eat all meals at. Thank you, Sonia, lovely clean room with everything we needed bed very oomphy. Love to come back...... N/A

- Ryan (10/5): -
- Kay (7/5): Comfortable and relaxing. - The room was spacious, bed comfortable and air conditioning a blessing. Located within the resort. Clothes airer, iron and ironing board very convenient. Great wifi in the room only. Trivia and bingo at the resort was fun! As the room is not owned by the resort you can’t put anything on the room bill. Room wifi does not extend to the pool or restaurant area. On the day I was leaving there was an awful smell coming from the bathroom.
- Liliana and Joseph Pali (7/5): Average stay - Pool area was nice and relaxing. Room was comfortable and clean although a little outdated. We had a bad experience in the restaurant on the first night. Also very pricey food for what we got. I paid $38 for a Laksa that tasted nothing like one. Extremely disappointed and left most of it. My husband's fish was dry and soggy.
We booked here as it said there was a pool bar but it was always closed.
I feel the areas around the pool could do with a good sweeping as well as the rooftops which were full of leaves and tree branches. Just made the place look untidy.
Most nights there was a bingo game which was loud so forget if you want to have a nice quiet meal

- Douglas (9/5): Relaxing. Comfortable. - Good location. Easy access. Attentive and friendly interactions with staff and owner As per conversation with owner a small kitchenette would further add to the positive experience
- Colin (9/5): It was great even though we only stayed for 2nights - Quiet and peaceful Restaurant had a very limited selection of gluten free meals available
- Nicky (10/5): -
- Kathy (8/5): Fantastic time. - The location and facilities are great. The ease of getting in to the room.
Excellent instructions from Sonia for her place.
Definitely recommend staying at Sonia’s at the Ramada.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - The resort offfered a rainforest environment around the pool area with different areas to sit depending on your mood. Calm and clean room. Nothing.
- Alex (8/5): Relaxing - The bed was incredibly comfortable. All the instructions were straight forward and the size of the room was really nice. There were no issues, we had a great experience.
- Susan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ashton (8/5): Very good -
- Sara (9/5): Superb -
- Heidi (8/5): Very good -
- Julie (7/5): Independently Owned Room within a Resort - Perfect location, a short drive into town (a little to far to walk). Great facilities. Microwave, plates and cutlery. Great water pressure, very comfy bed. Early check-in. Clear instructions on how to find room and key card. No housekeeping. One set of towels for 3 days was a little too long. Nowhere to wash dishes easily, you could only rinse them in the bathroom sink. Fire alarm went off one night at midnight. There was no direction from staff.
- Marilyn (9/5): Very pleasant - Loved the proximity to the beach and the heated pool. All good
- Natalie (8/5): Very good - Lovely resort , pool was great and immediately felt on holiday. Also had the most delicious dinner in the restaurant. Great experience
- Nur (9/5): Good find if you're on budget. - Nice and clean. Very reasonable price.
- Alves (8/5): Good resort - BED very comfortable, amazing swimming pool. Don't have sink in the kitchen
- Jed (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lincy (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location, clean and tidy room, all necessary ameneties provided. Resort have some amazing entertainment options. A big shout out to Sonia who went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and for being an excellent communicator even before and after our stay.
- Alex (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ahmad (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nestor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dulce (9/5): Superb -
- Janet (8/5): A clean, comfortable spacious room - A clean, comfortable room with lots of extras - umbrellas, bicycles, helmets, Netflix and a large bath
- Loida (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay! The room was very comfortable. -
- Barry (10/5): Exceptional - Awesome tropical feeling Monsoons😢
- David (10/5): Great stay caught up with friends, and the room exceptional - Great location and great atmosphere Nothing all good
- Bribierobo (9/5): Superb - Very comfortable bed, exceptional communication from Sonia Resort getting a little tired but still enjoyable.
- Chedwa (10/5): Romantic tropical getaway! - Wonderful facilities, great service and responsive communication.
The room was large and comfortable, included a Bath and King bed.
- Diego (4/5): Disappointing - The room was clean and set in lovely surroundings. The room is pretty dated and in need of modernising. The photos are way better than in reality.
We booked the room as it said it came with 2 bikes that we had hoped to cycle into port Douglas on in the morning to go and get breakfast. The lady first told us that we couldn’t use the bikes as it was past 10am check out time (even though new guests can’t check in until 12 onwards). She then back tracked and said we could not use the bikes as they were unsafe and she wanted to get rid of them. She was particularly unhelpful, argumentative and simply quite rude! We won’t be going back - very disappointing!
- Nina (8/5): Very good -
- Charles (9/5): Ramada a good resort - The fact that it was a resort and had a decent bar and restaurant, and nice places to sit and relax. The fact that red wines were served at "room temperature" which happened to be 30+, not the desired 17. I had little interaction with staff obviously because it was Sonia's Ramada. The staff in the restaurant area were very good for the most part.
- Keelee (8/5): Very good -
- Alan (7/5): Comfortable but some housekeeping issues. - Comfortable, quiet room. Decent pool area. Straightforward to access. Rubbish bin had not been emptied. Netflix was not useable. The spare bed had not been made up although we had booked for 2 adults and 2 kids (but not needed in the end). Fan looks like it is coming off the ceiling.
- Talbot (10/5): So beautiful and relaxing. Great value. - The room was amazing. We would come back again. The resort great (except the restaurant was fab for breakfast but too expensive for lunch and dinner). Parking was a bit tricky with no marked spots. Parking
- Bajra (10/5): Great - Hospitality
- Risa (6/5): Pleasant -
- Zac (10/5): Exceptional - amazing place to stay at
- Louise (8/5): I would definitely book again - The location is great, local knowledge had us trying some close by wonderful eateries
- Julie (10/5): Beautiful getaway 😍 - Beautiful location and amazing grounds with well kept tropical gardens, the restaurant was nice and affordable. The apartment was spacious, very clean. The bed was super comfortable. Nothing, I would definitely stay again! My only complaint was were unable to access Netflix but this wasn't a huge problem.
- Andy (9/5): Great value - The room was clean, warm and welcoming,it was above what I was expecting, good value, Not much,
- Dapps (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andrew (10/5): For a very comfortable, well priced (compared to the rest) stay in Port Douglas, I would recommend. - Location is great, easy walk to beach or bike ride to Port Douglas main street. The pool and swim up bar are wonderful, happy hour made it even better. Restaurant food is a little pricey but still quite nice. We had the crocodile and they made it super snappy! It was yummy so that was nice.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Bogdans (10/5): 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 - Beautiful Food
- Nina (8/5): Lovely resort with great facilities - Room was clean and spacious matching the photos and description. The private bikes were a great bonus (despite not being in the best condition), which allowed to explore the surrounding in a fun way.
Also, it was nice that the room has been professionally cleaned once during our 7 nights stay.
Loved the Yoga room! So cosy and peaceful to stretch in. The inconvenience of communicating with the hostess when things went not as planned. The room is privately owned and not serviced by the resort staff (except for the key cards that occassionally did not work).
Nevertheless, the overall stay experience was very nice.
- Theo (8/5): Very nice resort - Beautiful gardens and pool, laundry facilities ,nice room Bathroom towel rail and toilet roll not secured, no safe
- Briana (8/5): Overall lovely time and would stay again. Great location and the resort amenities were great! - Great room size. And lovely to have all the items to make breakfast with. The Netflix wasn’t working as it needed to be signed on again. And the pull out couch bed was squeaky.
- Daniel (10/5): Comfy, clean, bright room, very well appointed and thoughtfully managed. Every need anticipated. :) - Lovely room, comfy bed, spacious and bright. Love that everything we thought we might need was already there. Hotel amenities were also awesome.
- Claire (8/5): Good location, attractive and comfortable - Attractive design, food was great, lovely bar staff. Room was spacious with proper dining table and very well equipped.
- Christine (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, great ambience in the room.

- Amy (9/5): Wonderful stay! Very comfortable and easy. -
- Katrina (8/5): Very good -
- N (8/5): Sonia at Ramada - Resort facilities are good. Sofa cum bed is terrible, not suitable for third adult. Accommodation is excellent for 2 adults, we had booked for 3 adults.
- Jan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ralph (9/5): Relaxing & enjoyable - Had everything we needed A bit far out of town
- Anona (8/5): Great option and good value, with comfy beds - Great value, very clean. Sonia lovely and helpful Wish we had a balcony but we knew that when we booked. Good value
- Wylie (8/5): Enjoyable stay. - Good spacious well appointed room. Hotel has good facilities. Parking is a real problem I had to park in a side street away from the hotel when we returned from Port Douglas each evening. As above re parking.
