Guest Reviews
- Natalie (9/5): Beautiful stay! - We had a beautiful stay at the Providence House. Ani is a warm, welcoming and responsive host who provided clear instructions for our arrival. The home is very clean and had everything we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen. A great bonus is that the garden is fully fenced for pets. The place is in an awesome location, just a short walk from the main street of North Hobart with plenty of cafes and shops and 15-20 min walk into Hobart. We recommend this stay. Thanks again Ani!
- Natasha (10/5): Although a very short stay, it was a perfect little oasis and very relaxing. We would definitely book this place again. - Absolutely gorgeous place, like an oasis.
- XIAOJIAN (8/5): - 位置还不错,厨房设施很齐全,房东很nice
- Eliza (10/5): - We had a great time, the house is beautiful and very special, check in was easy, we had everything we need and more, thabk you
- Paul (8/5): Cosy old house with great characture - Great location for us but the address of the property is not the address to gain entry to the property. Difficult in that we were dropped off by taxi with large suitcases. If no chance meeting of the host, it would be a long walk around the block to gain entry - advertised address MUST change to the entry address. Cosy residence but quite dusty with cobwebs. Overall, it served our purpose very well.

- Peter (9/5): Excellent place, would be glad to return any time. - Location was excellent. Collecting the property keys was good, just didn't go to the right place first. Really nothing.
- Lana (9/5): - The flat was modern and light. Had everything we needed.. it was dog friendly which was much appreciated. Very steep driveway and had to take everything we needed up 3 flights of steps.

- Bhagirath (1/5): More Rules than Relaxation - The apartment itself was clean and well-maintained.
- Location was convenient and quiet.
- Appreciated the effort to keep costs low by not charging upfront cleaning fees. - Too Many Rules: The constant stream of handwritten instructions made the place feel more like a training camp than a relaxing getaway. From cleaning specifics to cooking restrictions, it was overwhelming.
- Micromanagement Vibe: Being told exactly how to clean, what not to cook, where to leave the key, and which appliances to switch off felt controlling. It took away the sense of freedom you expect on holiday.
- Stress Over Penalties: The threat of fees for losing a key or not cleaning “well enough” created anxiety. Instead of enjoying the space, I was worried about doing something wrong.
- Lack of Warmth: While the host was polite, the tone of the notes felt impersonal and rigid. It didn’t feel like a welcoming environment—it felt like I was being monitored.
- No Room for Relaxation: Holidays should be about unwinding, not following a checklist. The strict expectations made it hard to feel at ease.

- Karen (10/5): Exceptional - It was very comfortable and a convenient location. Perfect for my dog too.
- Andrea (7/5): Good -
- Kim (8/5): Very good - Cloese to all facilities, ie cafes and the city of Hobart
- Tom (8/5): Comfy, nice apartment in vintage mansion. - The apartment was very nice and comfortable. Very comfortable bed with nice bedding. Quick communication with manager.
- Georgina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (10/5): Great location great host. - Ani was awesome, booking .com is terrible will never use this booking platform again, tried to contact them regarding our stay and never got an answer.
- Susan (10/5): Pet friendly, Cosy, comfortable, clean and great location. - Great location and instructions. Very cosy and comfortable. Being dog friendly was our reason for choice. Great host, Annie was very nice and easy to chat to, very responsive. Lovely gardens. Driveway is very long and narrow (we have a larger car but managed carefully). There are some noises from upstairs but that is expected in muti level houses.
- Ben (10/5): Exceptional -
- Coby (10/5): Pretty, comfortable and convenient! - It was close to everything and so pretty. The beds were comfy and the kitchenette well equipped.
- Andrew (10/5): Private spacious and comfortable - Great facilities
Able to cook independently if you wish
Nice veranda to enjoy If you a coffee addict bring you own equipment (ie plunger)
- Cornelia (9/5): Great place to stay a few days and explore Hobart. - Great apartment with beautiful veranda to enjoy the evening and morning sun. Has everything needed. Well equipped small grocery store near by. Host even remembered that I intended to do some washing as well. Entrance to parking spot is a bit hard to find and narrow.
- Kiran (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jodi (9/5): Superb - Quaint space, lovely owner who was very helpful
- Leonard (9/5): Beautiful old house with a lovely view - Such a beautifully quaint old house. Loved the mix of modern and old. The electric blanket made it so cozy at night, and I love that it had a proper doona cover (unlike most hotels with their horrible top sheets wrapped over the blanket). Great location for food. Thanks for having us, will definitely be back when we visit Hobart next 😊 The towels smelled a little musty, definitely need to switch to hot washing.
- Ford (10/5): Excellent location and everything easy to get to - Location was great, close to everything a All good
- Eoin (9/5): Superb - Fantastic location, very near many North Hobart restaurants and only a 20 min walk to the city proper. Ani is a very kind and welcoming host. Nice view from the deck in good weather. Would love to stay again.
