Guest Reviews
- Hall (4/5): The location is good if you are willing to over look parts not being cleaned between guests - The location and number of bedrooms was the only plus. And trust me, you pay for it The place was ill equipped, & dirty.
1. The shower was disgusting. I had to purchase cleaning equipment to scrub away the years worth of grime & mould. Red mould, too. Japanese bathrooms are wetrooms, but this hadn't been cleaned in months & months & months. AND a used, dirty scrubber hungin the shower with past guests hair & grime in it. Why? For the new guests to use to clean? I threw it out. The drain also kept clogging because it the filter hadn't been changed in so long. My husband had to clean it, & the stench & sludge in the broken filter made me gag.
2. Grime in the kitchen sink. Maybe the cleaner thought because it was white that no one could see it? I also purchased new sponges because the only one provided was used & had other peoples old food on it.
3. Each guest is provided with a towel & facecloth. NO hand towels in the toilets. NO tea towels in the kitchen. & when I asked, I was told to use the facecloths as rags.
4. No soap in the upstairs bathroom, so you had to walk down a flight of stairs just to wash your hands. The upstairs sinks drain cleaned had a thick ring of visible sludge.
5. With how unclean other parts were, I questioned wether the sheets had even been changed. But assuming they were, they are the cheapest, scratchiest sheets, & no fitted sheet is used. Just a tissue thin sheet wrapped around a futon mattress which untucked every night, so you needed to remake your bed every night.
6. No parking on site. There's a carpark next door, & if the owner covers the parking fee there, then i suppose there is parking. But if this isn't the case, keep in mind there is nowhere to park & you can't park on the street in Japan.
7. Plaster is peeling from the walls and covered with random stickers.
If the bathroom & kitchen hadn't been so dirty, I could have probably overlooked everything else. But the owners reason behind the issues was because the house is old.
