• Patricia (9/5): Perfect place to stay if you’re going to magnetic Island - The communal atmosphere was very welcoming. The location across from the ferry terminal is perfect. We had difficulty getting in the door because we’re not technically savvy… But one of the lovely guests helped us out and welcomed us with open arms
• Jessica (7/5): Great for budget travellers. - Super great value, location close to casino/ferry/walk to town. Great size bathrooms. The check in process with codes to emails etc etc was a little frustrating and not being allowed to check in with photo ID other than passport. As an Australian resident I don’t like to have to carry my passport unnecessarily and not having a secure place to store it as luggage and pods not secure

• Maxime (5/5): Machine a fric sans personnel, chambre a 100 personnes - C’est en face du terminal ferry donc c’est pratique C’est seulement une immense piece avec un nombre incalculable de lits. J’ai fait beaucoup d auberge mais je n ai jamais vu un tel nombre de lits dans une piece. Il y a une odeur de chaussure forcement. Les espaces sur les côtés des lits sont pas super propres. Aucun personnel, il y a des codes, une porte de chambre qui fait du bruit toute la nuit a cause des codes et qui claque. Beaucoup de pvt/wh qui sortent donc pas reposant, lumiere allumé tout le temps. Tres difficile de dormir. C’est vraiment pas bien. Une machine a fric.

• Tonja (3/5): Backpacker stapelplek - De locatie, vlakbij de Greyhound busstop We dachten dormitory geboekt te hebben in een kamer voor 6 maar bleek 86 bedden ofzo, in 1 ruimte. Allemaal bedden, met gordijnen, naast en boven mekaar, opgedeeld in series van 6 in naamgeving waardoor je aanneemt dat je in een kamer van 6 terechtkomt. Vreemde situatie. Verder alles met codes, geen personeel gezien.
• Jessica (6/5): - Les lits doubles sont très confortables! La cuisine est beaucoup trop petite. Et les ustensiles sont usés, c’est la bagarre pour avoir LA poêle qui va pas cramer vos plats. Le personnel à la réception n’est jamais présente quand nécessaire et n’est pas d’une grande sympathie quand on lui demande de l’aide, on a l’impression de déranger.

• Ginger (8/5): - Ich weiß ehrlich gesagt nicht warum dieses Hostel teilweise so schlecht bewertet ist. Ich hab aus diesem Grund zuerst gezögert das Hostel zu buchen aber hab mich dann doch dazu entschieden und bin sehr froh über meine Entscheidung. Wenn man vor 16 Uhr eincheckt, dann funktioniert alles problemlos. Ich konnte sogar direkt vor der Tür kostenlos parken und die Fähre, um nach Magentic Island zu kommen, ist direkt gegenüber. Das Bett war sehr groß und bequem. Bin positiv überrascht.

• Gerard (9/5): Similar to a capsule hotel in a great location - Surprisingly quiet at night for a room with about 100 people! Everything looks new and modern. Exceptional location and design. Comfy beds. Storage under your bed + some extra. The curtains don't completely cover the bed, so that could be better. Paper towels in the kitchen would be nice. Can't park in front without a $50 deposit beforehand for a remote key to lower the little barrier on each parking slot. So if you check in late after staff hours, you can't get it.
• Natalie (10/5): - The whole building is air conditioned, place is cleaned daily. Good bunk bed set up. Pretty views of the water around the building. Great kitchen. More dish drying towels/paper towels. Not enough fridge space for everyone.
• Lorinda (8/5): Super Convenient for the Greyhound bus Station. - I like what they have done with this site. The bed was nice and comfortable. Awesome views Way too many long-termers. Not good for relaxing as most of them are working and are up very early in the morning so there is loads of movement very early in money. Doop continually blipping from ppl coming in and out ppl stomping around in their boots. In the evening ppl were not closing the door properly to go onto the deck which meant mosquitoes were getting into the dorm room. The communal area is way to small for the amount of ppl staying here.
• Sarah (7/5): Pretty good space with close proximity to local bus transport and ferry… u are in a shared space so bring your noise can - Location is pretty good with easy bus access The place doesn’t have any staff sitting by to answer u when u arrive at the door you just have to figure it out with the access codes they send via email and you need to down load apps like Goki So hopefully u have enough data when u arrive The place is pretty busy due to it location There showers don’t go cold … must be gas And there is so many different nationality’s living there.. everyone I met was super kind and tried to be helpful even when speaking English wasn’t easy When it’s busy and packed it’s a bit of a crush to cook your meal … but usually everyone is trying to be considerate There’s hot points in each pod to charge your devices and the bed space area is kept at a good temp It’s a compact living situation with good clean living conditions and comfortable mattresses … so easy to relax once u navigate your arrival 👍 There’s no ice machine… No staff physically present … pretty sure it said initially between 9-3 staff were at the desk, so if u arrived before that you would get assistance with orientation to property spaces … but no grantees There are three big fridges but when the pods are full there is trouble having space to store your food in the fridge … and with the hot tropical climate it’s a must have here

• Chris (8/5): - Seconds from the ferries and bus station so idea for a one night to get to Magnetic island in the morning then then the bus away the same evening My bed was the only bed right under the air con.. if ya held a tissue it blow out of your hand. No way should it be a bed in that spot or you get pneumonia. Luckily was several empty pods so I just took one of those . As mentioned no reception mostly so it’s a bit odd and kinda a free run of the place for everyone. And as others noted no idea of the check in and app or door entry stuff but always others around to open a door it’s big and lots of ppl but clean common areas to handle it

• Jinesh (2/5): It was awful and no staff on the premises to monitor the behaviour of the residence - It was close to the ferry terminal and beach There was no staff at the property to check in or resolve any issues.It took me ages to figure out how to use the codes that I was given. Everything was you had to find for yourself and there was a big French contingency who dominated the whole place and made a lot of noise in the place during the day and despite strict instructions to get to bed by 10 pm there were residents who never respected the privacy and made as much noise as they liked since there were no official staff to monitor the place. There were residents coming in until about 4.00 am in drips and making noise in the pods area so no one who went to bed early could sleep at all. In the booking I made the description did not meet what was provided. I feel a full refund is due for the awful stay, mosquito bites thoughout my body and complete sleep deprivation from the noise in the place from the French contingency who had no considerations for the other residents and acted as though they owned the place.
• Brandi (10/5): Peaceful and respectful, and absolutely beautiful ammenities, will definitely be extending my stay if I could find pleas - Easy communication and very cleanliness and security (despite a few hiccups with one guest in my dorm). But overall I absolutely loved my stay, hence why I rebooked another week as it’s such a friendly atmosphere and very secure and comfortable, with absolutely beautiful and well taken care of needs and peace of mind and tranquility and safety- thank you so much for providing a beautiful place to stay, I greatly wholeheartedly appreciate it. The only thing wrong was one of the other guests in my Pod “Natasha” who I believe was not paying to her nights to stay (I’m not too sure if it’s been resolved by reception. But after the house cleaning showed up yesterday she was making threats to and I quote “burn the place down” “and to also drown herself if she doesn’t get her way”. Which is alarming as it puts not only me but the other girls in the female dorm and everyone else at risk regardless of wether or not it was an overwhelming heat of the moment reaction, but Natasha has been repeatedly saying these comments since she first checked in. It’s concerning not only own personal safety but also of the other females now staying with us. And the follow on effect to all staying here. I understand there may have been an issue with someone sharing their personal codes; when she first checked in I did let her in but gave her strict instructions the codes she had been provided had to be used within 24hrs or they’ll expire and to use them asap. I’m not too sure what happened after that as it seemed she had no issues getting in and out. I am aware she spoke to 2 ofther guests who checked out yesterday but I’m unaware if they shared their codes with Natasha. I have not yet been able to warnn our two new guests not to share their personal codes as it’s so late, but if there if anything I can do to help or assist please let me know, Kind Regards, Brandi Minehan

Nessuno del personale in caso di necessità in nessun momento della giornata ho trovato qualcuno. La zona dove lasciare i bagagli in camera nonostante fosse numerata era molto disordinata e poco controllata, non ho mai avuto lo spazio disponibile per il mio zaino.

• Margo (7/5): Price quality - The accommodation is 1 minute walk from the Ferry and Greyhaund bus station! Ideal ! Perfect location. We had booked a tour in the morning, so we could not 'physically' check out. We could leave our luggage behind. When we arrived at the hostel again around 3 pm, we could no longer enter with the codes we had received via the Goki app. I was also at the door. The woman behind the counter saw me standing. But it took way too long before she helped me! When I wanted to get the food out of the fridge, all my food turned out to be with 'the free food'. Because it wasn't labelled in my name??? And my check out date today was???? Very unfriendly lady. Too bad because it's a very nice hostel.

• Satomi (9/5): 良い経験になりました。 - 清潔、安全、便利な場所 日曜日にチェックインで、スタッフは誰もいなくて、電話も出ないし、メールで送られて来たコードで入れましたが、緊急用に誰かスタッフがいるか電話で連絡とか取れたら良かった。 急いで予約した後に50歳迄となっていたのを見逃してしまい、50歳以上でも緊急宿泊できるのか、門前払いされるか行く前に聞きたかった。
• Sandra (1/5): Me pensaría el volver a repetir - Donde estaba situado, la terraza que tiene, para ser una sala grande con camas es muy tranquilo para todos los que éramos, la gente muy respetuosa eso me gustó mucho, lo único que el aire acondicionado le dejan toda la noche y para la garganta para mí fue malo, pero es lo que tiene este con tanta gente. Nos quedamos dos noches y el primer día me picaron chinches! Me cambiaron de cama sin problema y hay ya bien. Es una pena porque el sitio donde está es espectacular. La limpieza está echa por encima, cuando abres los cajones por dentro y por los lados están llenos de pelusas hay papeles metidos por los lados. No pusieron en una cama de abajo la segunda noche y en el colchón de arriba, había como una silicona de alguna mujer, desde cuando estaría allí! La recepcionista era un poco borde, pero me solucionó el problema

Staff were so friendly and efficient and the place was incredibly clean and well equipped. Fanciest ‘backpackers’ I have ever stayed at (in over 30 years 😁) Nothing. It was fabulous. If you want to get picky, a fan on back deck would be lovely 😁

Also Initially I booked a water pod and booking.com send me a message to upgrade for an single king pod- I did not find that as an upgrade the pod had no view and was not very confortable
