Guest Reviews
- Stephanie (5/5): Very basic accommodation, not the cleanest. - We liked the location. The property met all of our basic needs - beds, shower, fridge, etc. The beds were reasonably comfortable and the shower (in the main building) had good pressure. The kitchen was fine for storing snacks and microwaving some pizza, but we wouldn’t have wanted to do any proper cooking in there, as the appliances and utensils are very old. The property didn’t feel particularly clean or fresh. Because linen isn’t provided, we found sand in one of the beds, and saw that the pillows are old and thin. There was a dirty brown towel left hanging in the bathroom and a sticky puddle on the floor of a bedroom. Crockery and cutlery in the kitchen felt old and grubby.
There were lots of cobwebs hanging from the ceilings. On the first night we had to deal with the biggest huntsman spider we’ve ever seen in the bathroom.
I feel that it’s misleading that the property is advertised as having two bathrooms, when one of the bathrooms is in a separate building from the main house, which is on the other side of the garden.
We didn’t use the garden at all because it’s so removed from the main house.
We disliked the many emails that we received from the agency, with reminders of payments due, even though we had already paid in full. The bond and security information that was required felt over the top for such a mediocre property, and upon arrival we found the key lock box had been left hanging open anyway.
Overall, we really weren’t impressed with this property. It does the job if you intend to spend all your time outside and just need some beds to crash in at the end of the day. But for anything more, I would look elsewhere.
