Guest Reviews
- Stephanie (10/5): Loved everything, stunning building, friendly hosts, spotlessly clean, best location. Magical place! - This was the cleanest place I have ever stayed, there was no dust anywhere. Spotless floors.
- Catherine (7/5): Great location, big spacious apartment ideal for a group. Steep stairs to climb so maybe not great for families, and peo - Spacious, great location, easy key pick up. Cleaner was still at the property when the keys were made available. We left our bags there and were told to come back between 3 & 4.
- alison (10/5): We had a lovely time totally recommend - Excellent location helpful host great size
- Janis (10/5): Location! Location! Location! - I really am at pains to understand the “complaints” in the other reviews and advise you ignore them!
One mentions it’s noisy. Well, yes, it’s in the heart of Soho!
A few complained about picking up keys from another location (literally 4 min walk away).
Another suggests they felt threatened by the cleaner who was a lovely gent that let us in early to drop our bags so we could head out and explore.
The apartment isn’t perfect - it could do with a lick of paint and a set of wine glasses - but for this price, what more do you need than comfortable beds, an outdoor terrace, decent showers, and plenty of towels and toiletries in one of the best locations in London?
I’d highly recommend staying here and would certainly stay again. For the price I paid I wouldn’t complain!
- Marek (5/5): Suitable for undemanding clients who want to live in the heart of Soho - excellent location, prompt response from the apartment owner when repairing the boiler when hot water was not flowing The apartment needs a complete renovation. Handing over the keys was problematic. They were not where they were supposed to be. Check-in was supposed to be from 3:00 PM and despite the keys they were not there at 5:30 PM. There was still a cleaner in the apartment at that time. During our stay Jerry 🐭 came to visit us once, probably from the restaurant on the ground floor.
- Kerry (8/5): Host was very helpful, allowed us to drop our bags off before check in - Great location for our trip
- Melisa (3/5): Not what we paid for, only the location was good, so many small things that could easily be fixed and would change the w - The only think we liked was the location The hot water system didn’t work, we had to climb into the arid to reset the boiler for every shower, when we read reviews from the earlier 2 stays the same thing was happening and nothing had been fixed, no air conditioning and the apartment was hot and uncomfortable, we didn’t get enough towels and had to get cleaner to bring more. There was a broken window upstairs that we had to block with a couch pillow: the terrace lights didn’t work and the beam bags up there were so dirty - when we arrived we were told that the keys were not at this location and had to pay for a can to take us to get them, leaving family standing outside with suitcases, then again when we left the host didn’t tell us early enough to leave keys and we wasted time returning them, they should have a key lock at apartment. Very low contact with host, definitely not what we paid for - this was super expensive for what we had to do just o have a shower, light in downstairs bathroom didn’t work right, the upstairs basin was blocked and flooded had to get cleaner to unblock this as well
- Joe (5/5): Great location/kitchen. Horrible keys/checkin process. No clear directions. Some stained bedding. - The location was excellent. The kitchen was well stocked. The owner was responsive when there was no working hot water for showers and fixed the issue within 2 hours. The key pickup was very inconvenient. I asked for the key pickup address 3 months in advance, multiple times, but wasn't given the address until just before checkin. Then the location changed so I initially went to the wrong store. As a result, key pickup required 1.2 miles of walking. There should be a code for an electronic lock or key box at the apartment, like most rentals, rather than a confusing key pickup from a far away store. If arriving with significant luggage, walking to a store for keys is very inconvenient. My family stood on a narrow sidewalk for 25 minutes while I ran to collect the keys. In addition, although the owner fixed it quickly, we couldn’t shower before our night out because there was no hot water initially. Also, there was not a pullout bed for the 5th person, just a sofa. There was no bedding provided for the 5th person. Some bedding was stained and dirty, including one pillow that appeared to have a blood stain.
- Nicola (5/5): Great location but disappointed with the flat itself - Location was superb Broken window
No hot water
Difficulties getting key
No communication prior to the stay date
- John (6/5): Good location, bedrooms spacious. Good kitchen facilities. - Location was great Collecting and dropping off keys at a different location.
Hot water not on timer so cold showers evening and morning. After having to message host - We had to climb on a broken ladder into the attic (very unsafe) to reset boiler which did not work. If stayed longer than one night I would have requested discount.
Broken glass in window not fixed!
Shower head held together with tape!
- Anna (5/5): Hot water is essential to any vacation, especially with a 20 month old baby. Though not the deliberate fault of the owne - Location Lack of hot water. The boiler continually tripped out meaning that every time we needed hot water we had to climb into the loft and reset but it only lasted for a few minutes before having to do it all again.
- Jonathan (5/5): Passable - didnt know where to get the keys until i arrived. i wanted 20 mins from the tube station then had to walk all the way back to get the keys. on the first morning there was no hot water, this was fixed the next morning. comfortable bed rooms, nice kitchen, great location
- Rachel (4/5): Poor value for money and did t feel valued as a guest - Position. We had been before and it seemed perfect hence booking again It is very tired. It was much more expensive this time. Getting the keys was so difficult. Code to collect has not been sent. It needs painting as quite scuffed and scruffy really for the money. No tea towel to dry anything. There was one small flute and NO wine glasses only mismatched pint glasses and a tumbler. The blinds are mostly broken. The outside light doesn’t work, the fairy lights on the terrace don’t work. No small table to put a drink on outside.
- Richard (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (7/5): Good -
- Molly (6/5): Pleasant -
- Yvonne (8/5): Great place to stay for easy access - It was spacious and close to everything Upstairs heating didn’t work
- Taylor (9/5): Fabulous stay in Soho - Fabulous apartment in a superb location. The apartment is very spacious, the beds are comfortable and we spent the hottest evening in London so far sitting on the terrace, which is such a bonus in Central London. Backri was so helpful, allowing us to leave our luggage before and after check-out. Would highly recommend this apartment Little things like.......needed a second bedside table in the en-suite bedroom and maybe some lampshades in the bedrooms, but really, such small things
- Lester (7/5): Good - Location Noise 24-7
- Ana (9/5): Superb -
- Melissa (10/5): Exceptional - The property was very spacious and clean.
The location was ideal for anything in central London. Definitely will book here again
- Charlotte (9/5): It was brilliant -
- Crow (7/5): Good - Location was excellent as expected. The flat is spacious and well kitted out Guests should expect to collect the keys from quite a way away on Oxford Street.
- Su-ping (5/5): While hot water was resolved by plumber and mechanic, it was very inconvenient to have to wait the entire day. - Hot water was not working on 2nd day. WiFi in bedroom was not working. Hallway lights were not working. No kitchen towels. Shower tap for top bathroom was broken. Only 2 laundry pods for a 3 night stay for 4 pax.
- Marie (9/5): Superb -
- Gary (10/5): Exceptional -
- Levay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pioo (8/5): Very good - Great, clean flat! Perfect location! Communication with the host/owner is somehow problematic. I'm used to being contacted by the host a few days in advance, this time not only nobody contacted us but when we wrote over the booking chat they responded after about 48 hours.. without giving any details. Lots of room for improvement here! Receiving the info how to pick up the keys last minute is annoying and stressful for me.
- Kieran (8/5): Very good -
- Jessica (6/5): Adequate for my needs. - Handy location for where I needed to be. Male cleaner was present in the property when I arrived 20 mins after the 3pm check in time which was intimidating as a single, female visitor. He was polite but it felt like he was expecting me to tip him.
The living space is bare and not as pictured in the images.
- Sally (7/5): Good - Its location is brilliant and would recommend as for this reason it was really good value for money. The lights in main bathroom were difficult to stay turned on, we were unable to access any tv channels and the property was very hot.
- Ruth (8/5): Very good - A really spacious apartment for a family of 5, 2 double beds and 1 large sofa . Such an ideal & central location, and great value for money.
- Anonymous (8/5): Great flat for a fam of 5 - Great central location and a clean and well presented flat. All good
- Gary (8/5): Very good -
- Vinny (7/5): Good -
- Mathias (5/5): Really nice location and practical but don't expect too much as far as facilities. - The location was great. The place was clean. We were a party of 5 but there's only room to accommodate 4 people in real beds. There's a sofa but that doesn't qualify as a bed for a fifth guest. Many lights were not working and one shower out of the 2 was basically useless (no pressure, leaks), shades were quite a bit broken, windows are not really soundproof for a noisy neighborhood.
- Clohessy (2/5): Terrible - Location Property was pretty basic - looked as if owner was in the middle of a move with empty bookcases, nothing like the photos on the site. Noise on the street was constant all night, car alarms, refuse and glass collections throughout the night to building work directly across the st from early morning.
- Sarah-jane (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (5/5): Great location when you can finally locate the keys - Loved the location and the apartment was very spacious. Comfy beds and lovely large sofa in the living room. Key collection was appalling! I was given the wrong location for the key which was nearly a mile away from the apartment. I rang the owner and was told I should have been sent a closer location. During all of this a I was standing in the cold, with my case in the middle of Carnaby St trying to work out how to get to the new location which was a 15 min walk away...its 7pm and had to fight the crowds through oxford st to retrieve the key. 30 mins later I'm back at the apartment, The light didn't work in the entrance hallway, the blinds were missing slats and overall, the apartment needs some tlc.
I communicated my frustration to the owner regarding the key mix up and asked to be compensated. He messaged an hour and a half later at 20.37 and said we could have a full refund if we didn't check in- not great customer service.
- Charlie (9/5): Superb -
- Laura (7/5): Apartment as described, perfect location. Just need to get key collection info correct - Apartment was excellent location and very spacious comfy beds and sofa. Was given incorrect address to collect key which was 15 mins out of my way. Taxi cost £20 to different location. Windows were very loud - but very stormy night and secondary glazing on sash windows, so not much else host could do - would suggest take ear plugs just incase. It was only front bedroom friends slept great elsewhere.
- Hopkins (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sandra (7/5): Good - Location was fantastic
Very clean Needs a bit of attention. Blinds broken and lights not working .
- Nicholas (7/5): Good -
- Ilse (8/5): Great stay to visit London - Goede locatie. Nice size of apartment There is nothing that I didn’t really liked
- Mark (1/5): Bad -
- Juan (9/5): Great time was spent in London and location or flat was part of that. - The location could not have been better. Within walking distance to Bond St and Oxford St for shopping. Chinatown, Trafalgar Square, The Thames, Piccadilly Square and Leicester Square are minutes away as well. The only issue (if you could call it that) was noise from the corner pub John Snow, but that is to be expected when one stays in a centrally located hopping area.
- Amber (9/5): Great apartment in a great location, would stay there again. - Brilliant location, within walking distance of many attractions and very close to the Tube line. 2 bathrooms was great for a family and also great to have the space of the living/dining/kitchen area. Sliding door from bedroom to main bathroom needs fixing - it was very difficult to open and close. Lighting in the main bedroom could also be brighter - perhaps a brighter globe or a couple more ceiling lights.
- Ali (10/5): Amazing accommodation, would definitely stay there again - Lovely accommodation, clean and tidy. The bed was so comfortable
- Maria (5/5): Great location, lovely flat, disappointed in the downsides and noise outside! - Location was in middle of Soho which was very convenient for our plans. Key picking up was convenient from a local shop about 5 mins walk away. Two bathrooms/toilets which was great. Bright big spacious rooms as advertised. Modern decoration and very clean. Well equipped kitchen. None of the sockets in the property worked and the fridge was off. I emailed and text the host around 10.30pm when we got back from our night out and realised things were not working, only to get a reply the next morning saying it must had a a power cut but no way of fixing this offered or location of a fuse box/trip switch. We looked for a fuse box as had thought this but could not find one. TV and lights worked and one socket upstairs, and one in the kitchen. Wifi downstairs did not work as socket wasn't working. Bathroom sliding door in downstairs kept jamming and switched the light off as it went over it.
Very noisy at night in surrounding area and windows were single glazed so didn't get much sleep. Old building with very unlevel stairs etc up two floors.
- Jeanette (10/5): Great Location - Location was excellent! Only 1 set of keys between 4 adults.
- Cain (8/5): Very good -
- Karma (8/5): Very good -
- Jason (10/5): Everything perfect - Location was best 😊👍 Nothing
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dave (6/5): Nice apartment in excellent location. TLC needed. Needs keys to BOTH locks to be available nearby. - Spacious rooms. Comfortable Beds. Good kitchen (but see below). Large TV. Excellent location. Host always available and very friendly (though see below). Overall could do with a bit of updating (cracked tiles in bathroom, sliding door to ensuite difficult to open/shut, electrical sockets not flush to wall).
Bath/hand towels provided but no tea towel.
Could have done with warning of 50+ stairs to main living room (a few less to bedrooms on lower floor).
Problem with owners of flat below double-locking front door as nearest set of keys had one key (to open top lock) missing (host explained previous renters had lost this key - but we feel a new one should have been cut before we arrived). This meant we had to unexpectedly walk a fair way through Friday night revellers at 11.00 at night to retrieve a second set of keys. Very inconvenient to us - especially as one of our party had their phone stolen (pick-pocketed) on this walk. Suggest future potential renters check with host that new key has been cut and is available before booking.
Overall, we know London is expensive (this was cheapest apartment serving 5 people we could find in the area we wanted to stay) but felt £590 for one night, even without afore-mentioned problems, was overly expensive.
- Amanda (7/5): Loved the location and size so overall would recommend - The location was fantastic and the spacious size of the apartment was also excellent Probably time for some updating and freshen up. The paintwork is quite shabby and lots of broken tiles on the bathroom floor
- Dean (10/5): Great apartment in great location to walk everywhere in central london -
- Steve (6/5): Location and space great- apartment needs some TLC - Location and spacious Showers not great( lack of pressure in one, other one even worse). Apartment needs some TLC.... a number of cracked floor tiles in the bathroom were breaking up and general maintenance not great.
- Aled (8/5): Very good -
- Angeliki (8/5): Beautiful house, like the photos, clean, great location, bad value for money -
- Rachel (9/5): Perfect for us! We will definitely be back - Location and having the terrace. Upper space was just perfect and really well equipped I couldn’t use the shower en-suite as it was broken. There was a sign there though and the owner did let me know .
- Joanne (10/5): It was a good stay just needs a few little tweaks. Picking key up etc. - Very spacious and good for groups. How you had to get the key. All the stairs and couldn’t find a way to open sofa bed in lounge. Also you could only watch tv in Chinese there was no way of changing it over to English.
- Conor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Roxanne (8/5): Host was incredible, super helpful and communicative - Great location and brilliant space for our large group Shame that one of the showers/bath couldn’t be used, so we had 5 people trying to use one space. Sofa bed wasn’t made up even though we booked for 5 people and not enough towels were left for us to use.
- Paul (1/5): Bad - Location Difficult to know where to start. I have tried to contact your customer service via the app - but the message wont send.
I wish to claim a full refund for this booking. I did not stay there after a variety of issues made it impossible.
Firstly, when we got to the apartment if was not clean. There was also a note stuck up in the bathroom stating we could not use the bath due to a leak. Only when I called the landlord did he contact the cleaner (she showed me his message). When we eventually returned (2 hours after agreed arrival) the apartment was still not ready. Bedding was being washed and the cleaner explained she’s had a range of jobs to do and she had to take photos of them all completed. We were informed this was going to take a further 2 hours, meaning we would not have private access until 6pm. We were due to attend a show at 7pm. The final decision to leave the apartment was taken when we all (the cleaner, her daughter myself and my partner) saw a rat run across the kitchen floor. My partner and I immediately left and used her booking.com account (and my payment card) to book a room at The Dilly hotel. This can be easily checked at your end.
I would also ask you to see attached photos of the letter seen at the property and addressed to the landlord.
- Jake (10/5): The Heart of Soho - The location is so central to Soho, that you don't have to go far to find any number of worthwhile locations. The apartment itself is excellent quality, and much more room than you think you would get in Soho. My only issue which is hopefully easily fixed, is that the lights on the balcony didn't work. Hopefully that is just a matter of changing some batteries. Everything else was fantastic
- Laurence (4/5): Location and beds were great, the rest disappointing for £450 for one night. - The location and beds were fabulous. The front bedroom was noisy until early in the morning - not the fault of the host - because of people out late in Soho on a Saturday night.
There was a sign up asking us not to use the bath and shower in the ensuite because of a leak downstairs. We were not told about this before arrival.
The morning of our departure, the water went off completely, and we couldn't drink or wash.
The host was very prompt in some communications; less so when discussing compensation for the lack of water. (I have still not heard back about this.)
The microwave smelt very strongly of curry.
There was a mouse in the apartment.
- Anne-marie (7/5): Good -
- Maria (4/5): Would I stay at this place again? NO. - The best thing about this apartment was the location. Right in the centre of SOHO and easy walking to Oxford Street. The apartment was close to several pubs and restaurants which was a real bonus. The apartment had good wi-fi. The apartment was not ready when we arrived and the cleaner was there for another couple of hours after we gained access. The apartment requires a lot of maintenance. The bathroom next to our bedroom was not able to be used as the restaurant below complained of a leak. The tiles in the bathroom were broken and dangerous to walk on (you could easily cut your feet on the broken tile). The kitchen was not well equipped and there were no microwave dishes other than the available crockery. The shower was difficult to use and the hot water was very low. The apartment has a lot of stairs (which I was aware of) however as it is an old building the stairs were very steep and not easy to navigate with luggage.
- D'souza (10/5): Airbnb Stay - Such an amazing spacious facility with two functional toilets. All facilities for cleaning and maintenance are available at the venue including dryers, iron boxes etc. Very well equipped and great stay overall. Downstairs shower was not usable but this is just temporary otherwise nothing to complain about!
- Amanda (8/5): Very good -
- Nathanael (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jon (8/5): Great location and lovely flat, would stay again! -
- Alison (7/5): Overall enjoyed our stay - Location was excellent very close to restaurants and shops. Probably a little attention in the flat needed, for example the en-suite shower door does not close properly and the sliding door does not fit well. Also the door to the outside terrace needs some adjustment and a new flap. Would be nice with a few more utensils/ tea towel in the kitchen. Double glazed windows in the front bedroom would also be a great addition as it can be quite noisy.
- Amanda (9/5): Terrific location. Owner helpful and responded quickly - Fantastic location. Very spacious. A real bonus to have an outside space. Efficient heating Bathroom has no heating so was quite cold
Would be helpful to have a bedside table on each side in the smaller bedroom
- Andrew (8/5): Very good -
- Eva (7/5): The aparment has great location only few minutes walking from Oxford st, recomend earplugs for sleep - Great location and quite spacious aparment, 2 bathrooms makes great bonus :) Very soft mattresses, noise from the street at night
- Seulgi (7/5): Good - The location was everything. It is really located in the heart of SOHO Never experienced any local british housing before... so old the property is...
- Gist (10/5): Excellent place. Comfortable. Good location. Owners respond quickly. - Location. 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Spacious rooms. Nice balcony. Private. Equipped Kitchen. Sliding Door to large Bathroom very difficult.
We really needed at least two sets of keys for 5 people.
- Rachel (10/5): Great location great apartment. - Location is amazing. Top floor so there is a lovely outside terrace. Across 2 floors means there can be seperate spaces for people. One room had an ensuite. Washing facilities if needed. It was ashame that it labeled luggage storage as an option but this was only for before we arrived not after.
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Timothy (10/5): Lovely! - Very close to everything and spacious! The stairs but we’ll worth it!
- Della (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephanie (10/5): It was a wonderful stay for us 4 cousins and we would definitely stay there again. - LOCATION! Very spacious and comfortable. Loved relaxing in the living room. Cute kitchen and very easy to get the key and check in. Washer and dryer is a bonus. Easy to walk around and catch the underground. We expected it to be somewhat noisy throughout the day and night due to the location, however the single paned windows and blinds didn’t muffle the outside noise. Added curtains, double paned windows or a glaze may help.
- Chelli (10/5): Great apartment in a great area of London - Very cute apartment in a very nice area. We loved the little balcony. Lots of great food, shopping, and shows nearby. Not far from busses if you need to get around.
- Lara (9/5): Superb location with lots of space. - Location Price
- Helen (9/5): Superb - Spacious apartment, in an excellent location.
- Richard (9/5): Great place to stay. -
- Claas (9/5): Superb - Location and space
- Ben (9/5): Superb -
- Jackie (9/5): perfect location in central London with everything you need for your stay! - brilliant location. very spacious. lovely outdoor area! all good!!
- Siouxzied (7/5): Good -
- Rhian (9/5): Superb -
- Yulia (9/5): Superb - location , clean and comfortable. one thing was missing is that fridge wasn’t turned on and we wanted to chill the drinks as it was a birthday celebration. fantastic location, clear communication . really enjoyed our stay
- Uta (9/5): Superb - location was perfekt, right on the spot
owner very quick in answering
nothing to complain, enjoyed our trip!
- Lauren (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sue (9/5): An enjoyable and easy stay with the family! - The accommodation was spacious, clean and tidy and the beds and sofa were very comfortable. The host was really helpful and friendly and answered my queries quickly and efficiently. The location was in Soho and so close to the West End which was good for us as that is where we were visiting! One of the bedrooms needed to have darker blinds or curtains as the street lights meant it was light all night. The area was very noisy throughout the night with people and traffic. So if you are a heavy sleeper you will be okay but unfortunately I am not and did not get more than a few hours sleep. I appreciate that the location it was in but double glazing and darker curtains would have made difference.
