• MICHAEL (1/5): I spent 30 minutes inside then got my car out of the garage and after my meeting , drove home. - I drove up the entry and thought, this must be the wrong place, but it wasn't. The only positive was the location was good The complex was crowded, untidy, the units are old and dated, the fittings are drab and due to the colours look dirty There is limited privacyand they are way overpriced
• Bradley (10/5): Cool surfy retreat - Awesome location, just back from Rainbow Bay. Very close to some great food and coffee. It’s a quiet apartment complex. The furniture and decoration create a relaxed environment. I used this accomodation to get ready for my wedding with my two groomsmen. It was absolutely perfect for this. I would absolutely stay here again, and probably will.

• Edwina (7/5): Was convenient location - Fantastic location, very clean and tidy. Great facilities. So close to the beach and shops. Undercover parking was very handy in this area. Zero privacy with other units everywhere had to keep the curtains closed the whole time. Lady (permanent resident) smoking on the balcony next door also meant the need to keep the door shut and not sit outside.

A short walk up to Coolangatta Beach where we had a volleyball competition and very close to Rainbow Bay beach for a swim and the scenery. It’s a beautiful location. It was great for what we needed.

• jane (7/5): Smallish, light, bright and well maintained unit in small block. - The location was brilliant. 1 min walk to rainbow beach, less than 5 mins walk to good dining options. the unit itself is light, bright and well thought out with good, near new quality appliances. There is one air conditioner in the lounge room, and fans in the two bedrooms. The unit itself is on the first floor of a fairly average block of flats. Lots of happy noises from those in neighbouring spaces. We didnt mind this, but some might. Tea and coffee was provided, as well as various seasonings and useful bits like olive oil. But no long life milk for cuppas .No too much of a problem - shopping centre less than 5 mins away.

• Dylan (10/5): A mid week getaway from cold, wet and windy Melbourne. The Surf Shack was the perfect spot for a beach based relaxing ho - Many things to like… the location is near perfect. Snapper, Rainbow, Greenmount and Cooly all within a 5 minute walk, close to the surf clubs and only a 5-10 min walk from Cooly shops or Tweed mall. The cleanliness and comfort of the apartment was awesome. No complaints at all! Absolutely nothing. It was a ripper.

• mark leigh (5/5): hard to found .unit in good location .should have surf shack logo on letter box - beds need to replaced to small and hard no milk for coffee . had to close all curtains no privacy as buildings either sides . had to close doors because neighbours smoked on balcony.
• Kevin (9/5): comfortable convenient a great location and character - The location was fantastic, so close to a great surf beach, and great to have a convenient car park under the apartment. There was a generous amount of condiments available for any cooking you wanted, the apartment had everthing we wanted was quiet at night and a good beach/ surfing feel. The bed was comfortable and apartment had 2 bedrooms. We used the second bedrooms for cases and overflow of stuff. Th apartment is dated compared to the new high rise offerings so some of the furniture is alittle dated but perhaps this adds to the character. Overall, everything worked and it had what we needed.

There were lots of books, useful cooking ingredients in the cupboard etc. The coastal decor gave the place a groovy vibe. Having the car parked in a locked garage gave us peace of mind. The local walks were fabulous. We also found the neighbours to be really friendly.

• Dan (8/5): After the shock of the exterior, it is a great apartment with garage and useful facilities in a good location. - Location was good and it was clean and tidy with very good facilities. Garage was a must as parking on the street would be an issue. The exterior was a shock as we weren’t expecting 60s brick building. My wife was swearing under her breath.

I was anticipating a motel and when we arrived at the given address the name of the property was Wilson Court. There was no signage labelled "Beach Shack", so I had to drive around the block to find the property in Eden . The accommodation was a unit within a permanent residential block of units.

Also just a 15 min drive to the dog beach at Palm Beach which our Golden Retriever loved. We loved our stay.

The photo of the white building is a resort or vacation villa across the street. This unit is actually in what appears to be a block of low income housing units. The “balcony with a courtyard view” is a long shared balcony that has a view of concrete alley that faces another low income housing unit. Every single room in this rental is visible to neighbors, easily. So your option for privacy is the pull all the shades and be in the dark. The shared balcony is one long balcony that connects multiple apartment units with noisy kids and neighbors all day long. As an Airbnb host myself, I am extremely appalled by this level of dishonest and misrepresentation. I reported this host for fraud and left after one night (although we were supposed to stay for four nights). There is also a guest book in the unit where someone else commented, “We thought we were staying in the building across the road…” (ie the nice white building posted by this host in this listing). Booking dot com should remove this host for fraudulent and dishonest behavior. It’s basically a scam.

The hosts were really kind to allow us an early check-in and the place was very clean and had nice amenities including some toys and books for the kids to read. The place is a very short walk to rainbow bay beach and the enclosed car park space was great to have as well. Would love to stay here again in the future.
