Guest Reviews
- Priyavadee (10/5): Would definitely come back to this place if I have the chance - Magnificent views of beach with pleasant walking trail nearby. Also not far from national park.
- Craig (5/5): Disappointing - Location was very good Furniture is tired and needs upgrading. Although a fire is advertised, no firewood or starters were supplied. Upon phoning the agent about this, they stated that it was supplied between May and September and that this was stated in the terms and conditions. In reading the terms and conditions on Booking.com and the 5 pages of the caretaking agent, I did not find this statement. Very disappointing, as the previous 2 days, snow had fallen in the high country.
- Cat (9/5): Fabulous views, comfy warm house and very close to great restaurant and convenience store. One of our fav places on our -
- Richard (9/5): Amazing stay. - Great location and had everything we needed and more. An amazing stay, we will return. Thank you. We were having issues with phone signal and wifi leading up to check in and got a little stressed when we hadn't received the lock box code in the hours before checkin. We must have missed the advice about 2:50pm message.
- Pease (5/5): Good location, decent facilities but not clean. - Good location, nice to have washer and dryer The cottage was dirty. The floors were dirty, the dryer was full of sand, some of the dishes were dirty, the kitchen counter was dirty. Place needs a good deep clean.
- Rachel (9/5): - The view is amazing, and Coles Bay has some nice restaurants. The apartment had everything you need and was good for an overnight stop. The decor was a bit basic for the price. While we didn't see any live bugs there were quite a few dead ones in the bathroom that could have been cleaned up.
- Travel 100 (7/5): - Fab location. Great views across the bay. Spacious. Comfortable bed. Washing machone & dryer were good. Unfortunately there were ants in the kitchen & bedtpom, which was a bit upsetting. Though spray provided.
Whilst the studio could be very good, I felt it needed a deep clean and a shine.
- Anthony (4/5): A nice view spoiled by a passive aggressive host - The location is close to the cafe, small restaurant and the convenience store. The local mountain range and small bay is right out the front and the view from front window is lovely Rigid controls and stipulations by the owners. Arrival between 2 pm and 3 pm immediately rejected, with one word: ‘rejected’. Warnings throughout the house threatening additional payment if spare beds were used, or excessive water usage. Exit text warning of additional penalties if all food wasn’t cleared from fridge and pantry. No functioning aircon, just a fan. No WiFi connection, which was not advised beforehand.
- JILL (9/5): Absolutely loved it. Wish we had stayed longer, Coles Bay is a lovely little town on the water. - Love the location, the cottages were all laid out well, all had water views. Ours was large and beautiful modern bathroom. BBQ was dirty and ran out of gas while cooking after we cleaned it.
- Caroline (9/5): - Lovely apartment with good views over the peaks of the national park and sea.
Near to eateries. Too many rules posted everywhere that feel intimidating e.g. water use.
- Sonia (9/5): Great location - Needs wifi
- Rachel (9/5): Lovely view with everything we needed - Great location with nice views. Good amenities and nice and spacious for three single travellers. Nothing
- AEAE (9/5): Fantastic location overlooking the Hazards and round the corner to eating options. - Location, location and location. Best spot in Coles Bay. Compact accommodation but perfectly set up with everything you need including handy items such as foil and kitchen towels; laundry appliances and detergent etc. These small touches just make travelling so much easier. We loved sitting outside looking at the view of the boat ramp and the Hazards. Hosts were very responsive and cottage was spotlessly clean. I was not aware there was no wifi and must have missed it if this was explicitly pointed out. Was not too much of an issue but guest with no sim card had to hot spot.
- Hepworth (10/5): -
- Karen (8/5): - Fantastic location I had booked a two bed apartment but was told we could only use one bedroom as I booked for 2 people. Needs to be clearer when advertised. Other than that, gorgeous place with a lovely view.
- Jane (9/5): Comfy and quiet central location - Great view and close to convenience store and takeaway places and a short walk to the pier. Comfortable unit in central but quiet location. Plenty of heating options. No aircon but wasn't over 22 when we were there. TV reception comes and goes. If we had known, we would have taken a lap top.
- Samantha (8/5): Was a great few days with my son. - Great location. Was warm as we walked in, which was nice on a cold day. My son liked that he could walk across the road and go fishing. Nice and clean and peaceful. The single bed was very uncomfortable for my 16 year old son.
A lamp in the main room would be nice, instead of having the big overhead lights on.
- Patrick (7/5): Comfortable with picturesque views - Fantastic location with postcard views of Freycinet. The apartment is a good size and neat and tidy inside the house. Has a small electric stove and microwave which is enough to do the basics. The bedrooms were a bit stuffy even on a mild day.. Unfortunately there is no cooling in the studio and the window in the main bedroom didn't open.
The bbq was in a poor state with several burners not working and was filthy in any case so don't rely on this for cooking.
Note there's fairly limited cupboard space in the kitchen if you're planning on doing lots of cooking.
- Carol (8/5): We had a great time and the unit was very comfortable and clean & restaurants to walk to. - The location and the view of the Hazards were fantastic. The property advertises having a fire place but you can only use it 5 months of the year - May to Sept. There is no reason for that as all the houses beside us were using their fires as it was extremely cold when we were there at Xmas time.
- Wendy (10/5): -
- Silvia (10/5): It has everything. - Studio 3 Feldspar, at Freycinet Stone Studios, is awesome: the house has everything for a nice and pleasant stay, and is fully equipped (except for wi-fi, but you can buy a sim card). The location (Coles Bay) permits to reach lots of interesting places and walks. We recommend it. Parking included. The view from the windows of the house is breathtaking!
- Shayden (10/5): -
- STEVEN (9/5): - Perfect location with fab views & outside seating
Comfortable bed
Good bathroom
Dedicated parking space Smallish kitchen
Drain smells at entrance & outside seating area
- Geoffrey Robson (10/5): Very comfortable studio with world-class vista. - A truly spectacular view of Mt Mayson, Mt Amos range. Very comfortable cosy semi-detached cottage. Well-appointed kitchen. The entrance driveway badly needs filling to repair the large pothole. (Can damage car suspension). BBQ gas was empty on arrival. No SBS TV channels available.
- Shirley (10/5): -
- Richard (9/5): Fabulous location for a quiet stay. - Fabulous location, close to the bay. Own parking spot. Space to sit outside the cottage with the chairs provided. Plenty of room in the building, including a washing machine and dryer. Well equipped kitchen. It was unseasonably cold when we were there so floor tiles were equally cold! Handily placed for shop, coffee, ice cream, fish and chips and pizza options, with restaurant a short drive away. Lots of well signed walking routes close by. A beautiful spot. Note no wifi in this cottage, but this is clear in the booking form.
- Dennis and Maria (9/5): Great! Would definitely stay again. - Position. Close to everything. Views of Freycinet NP. Beautiful & clean stone cottage. Washing facilities & real coffee to brew were a bonus.
- Gary (8/5): Good base for the cruise from Coles Bay - A great location to access the wineglass bay cruise and the nearby shops were handy. The neighbours were quite loud (not the accommodations fault). We always make sure we leave a place neat and tidy when we leave but didn't like the expectation of having to leave it ready for the next occupant.
- FRANCES (7/5): Overall the property is comfortable and well positioned for views and convenience. - The property was conveniently located on the harbour with great views The bio cycle was located right outside the front door. It was the first thing you saw when approaching the property and it smelt. We couldn’t sit out at the outdoor table setting without having to smell it.
- Florence (10/5): Great location, perfect for a few night getaway in nature. - Great location with a gorgeous view. The initial pictures when we booked really did not do it justice. The view from the sofa is spectacular.
Around the corner from all the Cole’s bay amenities and close to the National park entrance. Nothing
- Louise (9/5): Great location, amazing views. - The view from the property was amazing. The kitchen was good and the cabin was warm and clean. Just around the corner is a cafe, ice cream shop and little general store. Great location to base yourself for exploring Wineglass Bay. The TV reception fades in and out at times and there is an occasional smell outside the room from the septic, this didn’t bother us as it was cold and we had the windows and doors shut.
- Janine (9/5): - The most stunning view across to the Hazards. The unit was very comfortable and we loved the log fire and appreciated the chance to sit in front of the fire and look at the view across the bay.
- Karen (10/5): - Central to everything
- Julie (10/5): Excellent, best accommodation we stayed in for our week in Tassie - It was clean , well set out & walking distance to jetty & shop & cafe
The view of the Hazards was the highlight Nothing
- kitty (7/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): Great location with fantastic views. - Fantastic views and a great supply of firewood to keep us cosy & warm on the cold nights. The floors were quite cold & a rug or 2 would have made it more homely.
- Elaine (6/5): Great location but kitchen utensils need to be replaced. - Location Kitchen utensils should be replaced. Blunt knives, broken peeler, etc.
- Vincene (10/5): Fabulous - The view was amazing and it was very comfortable Nothing
- Cameron (10/5): - amazing location, beautiful views, wood fire, walk to jetty for cruises and walk to general store and cafe
- Alan (9/5): -
- Julia (10/5): Fantastic accomodation in lovely location. - Spacious. Amazing fireplace. Well stocked kitchen. Comfortable bedding. Spacious bathroom with washing machine and dryer. All was fabulous.
- David (10/5): -
- Dawie (9/5): -
- Ralph (10/5): Exceptional -
- Timothy (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (7/5): Good -
- Jennifer (10/5): A great location in a stunning little town. We loved everything this place had to offer! - Location and view
- Lim (1/5): Bad -
- Robert (7/5): Good - The kitchen area for cooking did not meet expectations. The microwave was rusted and not in good order and the pots and pans were dirty, hadn't been washed and were old and not appealing for use
- Ebony (8/5): Very good -
- Jennifer (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lorraine (5/5): Passable - Bathroom well appointed with handrails and seating - meeting áccessible' needs Listed as an Accessible Unit -
1. Parking space restrictive and certainly not suitable /appropriate for a person with impaired mobility. High risk of steep slope and restricted space to open car door for a person to get out of the car and also to unpack the car .
2. Heat globes in bathroom broken/inadequate . Needed to request replacement.
3. Only one glass supplied in cupboard
4. No compendeum in unit to advise re use of equipment, particularly the tv remotes
5. No matches available to light fire - being a feature of the unit
6. Main bedroom window locked, room stuffy. Tried all other window keys, but not compatible
7. Pathway from carpark to front door has overhanging bushes being a safety issue for a person with impaired mobility
8. No lighting at night from carpark along pathway
P/call to booking office to advise reissues and request response. Items 2,3,4 and 6 attended to promptly
- Alec (9/5): Superb - Views, room
- Sue (9/5): Was great and comfortable. - Easy to find, great view and space, easy walking distance to restaurants and activities. Was everything we needed. Didn't realise that there wouldn't be sheets on the single beds.
- Helen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tamica (8/5): Very good - Stunning views Lack of tv reception
- Hannah (7/5): Suitable for short stay but needs updating - Perfectly located in coles bay, lovely fireplace & good size for a couple of people. Right next to the convenience store and a great cafe (Géographe)The cleaners worked hard for us to get check in a little earlier which was appreciated. The TV barely worked, I understand they encourage to “switch off” but that’s up to the individual. At nighttime you want to unwind and watch TV, definitely needs fixing and wifi added to maybe chromecast on the TV if there is no TV reception. The water saver shower head needs replacing, you can see how old it is and the water pressure is so. Also the potholes in the driveway are a hazard.
- Matthew (7/5): Wonderful stay, few easy fix-ups would make it perfect - Great location, wonderful view, cosy space, place was clean and tidy and close to everything you need in the area. Needs a refresh and resupply and glassware and cutlery e.g. there was only one wine glass. Firewood didn't seem to be restocked. Wi-Fi is needed to plan day trips/hikes etc and wasn't provided, realise the point of being out that way is to be a bit off grid but that doesn't really fly anymore when so much planning is done online.
- Phuong (8/5): Very good - Cabin was 5mins walk from the lake with stunning views. Everything was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Cabin doesn’t provide WiFi but we still had reception from our phone with Vodafone. Pressure on shower was abit low.
- Aimee (6/5): Small things not done well, quite disappointing - Looked nice, was clean (except the ants). Location great. Walk to general store and the view from the front door is beautiful (not that you could stay out the front because of the septic tank). Small things made the stay uncomfortable- empty box of tissues, no dishwasher tabs for the dishwasher, broken screen door that wouldn’t slide, broken window in kitchen. We came home the first day and there were ants all over the bathroom sink and our toothbrushes. The septic tank was at the front door so you couldn’t sit outside or have the door open because if the smell. The TV was old so only free to air tv - not able to chromecast even. Free to air would have been ok but it didn’t work properly, it would freeze and pixelate so too annoying to watch. Blue ray player but bo blue rays to watch. No wifi means there wasn’t anything to do there in the night. We thought we would have a fire in the fire place to entertain us, but were told that our stay was a couple of weeks too early to be allowed to have firewood for a fire 🤷🏽♀️
Also, when you call “reception” it goes to a call centre?? And they don’t necessarily know the property, they look up the info to give you, which, I don’t know, feels cold and uncaring compared to other places.
- Penelope (8/5): Lovely area to visit and nice little studio. It does need an internet connection. - Lovely location No internet available
- Lisa (8/5): Nice accomodation in beautiful location. - Beautiful location, nice accomodation. No wifi. Uncomfortable sofa.
- Nicolette (9/5): Superb - Great location
Well appointed with everything we needed
The driveway needs repair
- David (10/5): Relaxing and enjoyable - The apartment was very clean and had all amenities that anyone would require.
It is well located and only a short stroll to shops and restaurants.
The views of the Freycinet peninsula are amazing. Water pressure in the shower could be better.
- Joanne (10/5): Exceptional -
- Emma (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lisa (10/5): Perfect location - It is a beautiful studio. Clean and comfortable with everything you could want. The location is perfect. Nothing to dislike
- Debra (8/5): Very good -
- Debbie (9/5): Superb - Great location
- Shane (8/5): Very good - Cold wet and miserable Slippery tiles out front
- George (6/5): Pleasant - Nice location lots of facilities. The driveway leading up to the studio is full of potholes and challenging to navigate when reversing out. It seriously is in need of repair.
- Laura (9/5): Superb -
- Michelle (2/5): Terrible service to a sewage hygiene issue. - The location. I asked for an early check in as we were travelling with a 1 year old. They said they would send me the code as soon as the cleaners left. We sat on the pier and the cleaners had been long gone before 3pm but the code came through only at 3pm. We stayed 3 nights and for half our time there, the septic tank was overflowing, and leaking down the pathway. The smell was disgusting and we couldn't use the outside area to sit or BBQ, plus we had to keep windows and doors closed due to the smell. I asked for some compensation as it is a very expensive place and to feel gross from the sewage for half our time there, I would have thought was a given, especially as I had to follow up asking what was being done about the hygiene issue numerous times. Their response was they dealt with it adequately, so no compensation can be given. A full day and a half was a long time to live with that smell and apparently it keeps happening, so beware if you hire this place, you may also have to live with the foul odour and sewage for a day and a half. Not acceptable in my eyes.
- Sally (7/5): Good but no wifi was very inconvenient for us - Very comfortable and clean No wifi.Wasn’t clear enough when I booked so it was a shock to discover there was no wifi when we arrived.
- Sharon (10/5): Very relaxing - Location was perfect. Very convenient
- Robert (9/5): Superb - Great view, close to local shops and coastal walks.
- Bronwyn (9/5): Superb - The location was fabulous! Very clean modern facilities.
Bed was comfortable.
- Karen (10/5): Lovely stay modern well equipped property - The view was amazing. Well equipped comfortable property. Didn’t have access to the internet as the cafe next to the property was closed when we arrived. Our mobile didn’t work either which made it difficult to get the details required to access the property. Thankfully we arrived 5 minutes before check in and the kind cleaning lady was on site so was able to help us access the property by contacting the office. We had tried to contact the property prior to leaving our previous location but were told the key access would be released 10 minutes prior to check In which did cause us a bit of anxiety. All in all it was a very enjoyable stay.
- Catherine (8/5): Too short. One of the most surreal places I’ve ever stayed in with the views from the front. The cottage didn’t need to - Stunning location. Totally picturesque. The cottage was comfortable and clean with all the basic amenities you needed. Bbq a real asset.
- Roger (9/5): Superb -
- Ian (8/5): Very good - awesome everything
- Dee (9/5): Superb - The location and views is fantastic
- Tempe (9/5): Superb -
- James (7/5): Good -
- Susan (9/5): We had a lovely time. The apartment was fantastic - The location and views are spectacular. The apartment was extremely clean and communication with just was easy All good
- Ray (7/5): Great view but that's it - View Litter in garden and smelly septic tank covered in unsightly plastic in garden at front door. No wifi
- Jane (8/5): Very good - Location & views were excellent, very clean, good kitchen facilities. Couldn't find the property in the dark. No welcome light on. Property sign small & not lit up from street. Steep driveway with large potholes.
- Lois (8/5): A superb property in the best location to see the sunset over the Hazards - A lovely stone cottage with superb views Entry door needs attention as heavy to slide .
- Sharon (5/5): Beautiful area, central to facilities, studio spacious but bland decore. - Bed was comfortable. Central to water and facilities. Tv easy to control. Premises were very clean. Doors and windows very difficult to open. Person with disability would struggle. Shower impossible to regulate and smell of sewerage evident. Water flow in shower poor. Not worth the price of accommodation.
- Lauren (9/5): Superb -
- Rachel (10/5): Great stay in a quiet small town near the water. - Wonderful place to feel “at home” in a small quiet town. Comfortable beds, restaurants and water were walking distance.
- Christina (7/5): Good - Great Location, comfortable beds, spacious Could use a little tlc in general and overall cleanliness could be better
- Bester (7/5): Good -
- Toni (5/5): Ordinary - Good location The property had a funny smell. Then when we were leaving we could smell sewerage. Bathroom toilet didn’t have a lid. Mirror too high in bathroom. Bad water pressure. Tv too small for a lounge room. No wifi. Potholes in driveway. Sliding doors and windows hard to open and close.
- Jessica (10/5): Exceptional -
- Amanda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ginn (9/5): Superb -
- Philip (6/5): Pleasant - The property was good and comfortable but tired and needs a makeover.
- Alexander (7/5): If the pot holes and toilet was fixed I would have given it 10/10 - Location of was fantastic, studio spotlessly clean. Driveway is a hazard with deep pot holes. Extremely hard to see at night. We had issues with toilet not flushing.
- Irene (10/5): Wonderful - Incredible views.
Very clean.
well equipped. only two small challenges.
we loved the wood stove but it was a little difficult to add wood. You need a poker.
our particular parking place was a little scary as it is on a steep ledge with a sharp drop off and we had a large car. The driveway also needs. some repair at the bottom. Turning around also difficult.
All that being said — we had a wonderful stay.
