• Hartle (8/5): It was great for what it was - A lot of food nearby and being next to a train and busses made it very easy to get around Sydney. It was nice how I could get food and go staritng to manly or bondi with ease. We brought food into the room and forgot about it then went to eat it the next morning and there were hundreds to thousands of ants eating it and thi smannened many times even with sealable food.

• Jean Luc (1/5): BAD - but year before not bad bunk beds that dont move, cheap ad cheerful good location - I had stayed at this property several times last year, and while the customer service wasn’t always outstanding, I understood it’s a hostel environment. However, during one stay, I was placed right next to a bathroom, and there was constant door slamming throughout the night (2–4am). Understandably, I was frustrated and contacted reception via the intercom. Unfortunately, I was told there were no options to move rooms and that I would just have to put up with it. The following morning, the manager informed me that I was no longer welcome, despite having stayed there for nearly two months the previous year and across multiple locations. I found this response extreme and unjustified. When I tried to discuss the situation, the manager was combative, dismissive, and ultimately hung up on me, stating he didn’t care and that I was effectively evicted. I also later received a note about a bottle of rosé wine, even though I was not drinking and have never done so on the premises, which added to the confusion. I want to highlight that Lia, a staff member, consistently provided excellent customer service—professional, helpful, and respectful at all times. Months later, when I returned to Sydney, I even apologized in an attempt to stay again, though I’m not sure why I felt the need to. My reservation was declined regardless. Overall, the situation felt disproportionate and poorly handled. I was left confused, as the outcome didn’t seem to match the circumstances. Customer service and manager of call centre

• Rocío (3/5): Mala experiencia - La ubicación es muy buena Muy poca la limpieza del lugar, los baños nunca estaban limpios. Las camas incomodas, la instalación eléctrica esta aun en proceso, hay cables alargues por todos lados de la habitación, peligroso. No podes entrar a la cocina en el horario nocturno, por lo que no podes entrar a buscar agua o limpiar tus cosas o hacerte un cafe. Los recepcionistas están 24h pero mediante una pantalla, el proceso de check in es largo, demoraron 2 horas hasta que me mandaron por mail la habitación asignada con las claves de acceso.

• Ellen (2/5): Billigt hostel men inte värt pengarna - Att det var centralt, det stod att det var inkluderad frukost men när vi frågade om det så visade det sig att de inte hade frukost. Min upplevelse av detta hostel var tyvärr mycket dålig, främst på grund av bristande kommunikation mellan receptionen och städpersonalen. När jag förlängde min vistelse bäddades min säng om, trots att jag fortfarande bodde där. Mina tillhörigheter som låg i sängen hade lagts i en hög i rummet, och i samband med detta försvann min adapter. När jag tog upp detta med receptionen hanterades situationen väldigt dåligt. Jag fick ingen ordentlig hjälp och erbjöds ingen kompensation för det som försvunnit. Problemen fortsatte under min sista natt. Trots att sängarna är tydligt numrerade hade personalen bäddat fel säng, vilket ledde till att mina saker återigen låg i en hög och att en annan gäst låg i min säng. Detta resulterade i att jag tvingades byta rum sista natten, vilket skapade onödigt krångel och stress. Sammantaget en mycket dålig upplevelse.

• Markus (10/5): Ein Top Hostel mit gutem Preis- Leistungsverhältnis, stabilem W-lan und guter Lage. - Sämtliche Cods waren in der Ap hinterlegt und es hat (bei meinem 2. Aufenthalt im Hostle) alles so funktioniert, wie man es erwartet. Abendessen war wieder Mega - besonderer Dank an dieser Stelle an das Team vor Ort.

Das angebotene gemeinsames Abendessen war sehr gut. - Leider gab es mit dem elektronischen Schließsystem Probleme, die das öffnen der Türen zu einem täglichen Abenteuer machte. In der GoKi Ap war leider nur der Code für das Zimmer hinterlegt, so das die Türen von Haupt- und Nebengebäude - meist mit wenig Erfolg - manuel geöffnet werden mussten. Klarstellung: Bei einem späteren Aufenthalt waren alle Cods in der Ap aktiviert, so das alles reibungslos verlief - wäre schön gewesen wenn das auf Anhieb der Fall gewesen wäre. Ich empfehle die Ap zu nutzen.

• Juana María (6/5): Mejorable - Bueno ubicación. Cómodo. Tranquilo. Teníamos reservada una habitación para 4, llegamos y encontramos debajo de una de las literas un calzoncillo. Debajo de la otra una caja de algo que no quisimos mover. La primera mañana apareció una cucaracha que aplastamos y se siguió paseando por la habitación todo el día con una sola pata hasta que volvimos a aplastarla. No hay recepcionista, nos atendió un iPad con una señora en videollamada y se nos hizo bastante lento el procedimiento porque te piden que envíes todos los pasaportes y rellenes un formulario en el momento. Nos lo podían haber enviado antes. Los baños no destacan por su limpieza. Estamos en 2026, podrían poner un grifo con manillas de agua caliente de este siglo.

• Noah (1/5): Not a “pod hotel” - a hostel. And poorly maintained - Location. Broken light in the men’s bathroom and dirty. No human staff, just an iPad at reception with someone in a call center in Asia on zoom. Random non-guests roaming in and out. No power outlet for top bunk. Lock on our door didn’t work. NOT “pod hotel” at all - false advertising.

De 3 douches in het buurgebouw waren tijdens ons verblijf out of order. Heel vervelend om steeds te moeten wachten op een toilet. Daarnaast was het erg onhygiënisch.

• Loan (5/5): Cheap hostel - Really affordable in an okay neighborhood. Breakfast quite simple but included Vraiment pas la plus propre des aubergesais pour le prix ça fait le travail. Le déjeuner est très simple. La cuisine n'est pas hyper propre et l'acceuil par une personne à distance rend le tout très impersonnel et industriel. La salle de bain n'était pas propre car il n' y en a justE pas assez pour le nombre de chambre.

Luego tiene buenos servicios como: -Free washing machine, -Free Dinner and Free Breakfast (aceptable), -Curtains on the beds. Todo lo demás es decepcionante. La limpieza es lo peor del hostel, siempre está sucio, huele muy mal y jamás vacían las heladeras. El sistema de llaves para las habitaciones es solo con códigos y en dos oportunidades los códigos fallaron y esperas rato para poder entrar al hostel o a tus habitaciones. La habitación de 4p es muy pequeña, apenas puedes moverte allí y los espacios para guardar equipaje son muy chiquitos. No hay enchufes suficientes para todas las camas. Y la “terraza” que dice tener, no es como en las fotos, es pequeña, sucia y no le llega el wifi.

• Andrea (4/5): Good location, they do the bare minimum to keep the hostel in decent conditions - It’s in a good location The room wasn’t like it’s shown in the pictures. The “air con” was a machine with a tube attached to the window, which was broken. Bathrooms weren’t always super clean, even after cleaning them in the morning they would leave stuff that guests had forgot there.
• Emilie (2/5): Dirty, unkept, cramped and false advertisement. - Okay city location, except it was in kings cross which felt unsafe in the evening.. Views were nice! So many things were so wrong with this place sadly. It was hard to find where the hostel was located. When we got inside the receptionist was on an ipad through video call assisting through email, which was fine i guess. We were assigned a room below the main floor, which already was a bad sign. Room was with hospital lighting and was so gross. The floor was a mess with clothes and bags being everywhere, and a sink with a super dirty mirror was placed in the room… The beds Linen were SO dirty, Couldn’t even use the blanket since it stank of old mold and a spoiled milk. Pillowcase was yellow on one side and other side was DIRTY with brown and red stains.. GROSS Rooms didn’t look like pictures at all and were so humid and stank of cigarettes and mold. I cried myself to sleep and almost booked a hotel in the middle of the night with money I didn’t have.. The beds were so loud and creaking at any single movement in the bed. Outside was pretty dirty along with the kitchen , and there was no place to hang or chill which was pleasant … there were only 2 female bathrooms on the main floor which had NO toilet paper, so I had to get a roll from the wingstop closeby to go to the bathroom. A girl living there said there had not been paper there for a while, which is crazy given that they said they had cleaners walking around the property. Lastly after the checkout they could only hold the bags until 12… Yea pretty gross. Had to shower myself twice before feeling clean after this visit…

• Ilaria (2/5): Dirty - A few minutes walk from Kings Cross station. Common areas are very dirty (girl's bathroom was ok), and the smell is foul. On Booking the room was advertised as 12m2 but we were given a way tinier room. The room had cables running everywhere. There was a very very noisy portable AC unit which was fixed to the window with duck tape, and the duck tape was falling apart. We had to request assistance and wait three hours to have it fixed. It was overall quite awful and mesay but the dirt all around was the worst thing of all.

• Simon John (6/5): - Price for the proximity to the main attractions was great. Really close to Kings Cross station which was a massive help to get around to things further away. Being 10 minute walk from the Botanical Gardens was great too. The breakfast, though basic, was also lovely to have included. The staff on the monitor were most helpful too The rooms were hot and humid which made it tough to sleep. The AC units were LOUD. Though, I needed to be up early most mornings anyway so it kinda helped me!

If you're looking to relax, I don't recommend it! I couldn't sleep all night because the air conditioning was louder than a jet engine. There were tons of extension cords in the middle of the room so each bed could have its own outlet. The shower was full of mold.

• Marta (4/5): Really unpleasant staff and dirty space - The location was good, not far from the cbd I don’t usually write a reviews but this place deserves one. The staff are like robots, not helpful at all. They just repeat the same sentences all the time. I arrived at 10am, they canceled my flight and it took me whole night and 3 flights to get to Sydney. I slept 1 hour. I asked the receptionist if it’s possible to check in earlier and even was ready to pay for it. She said no. I asked if she could at least ask housekeeper to do my bed first, she didn’t want to help me at all. She said the check in time is 3pm. I asked at 2:45 if my room is ready and she said that the bed is ready but the room is not cleaned yet and I have to wait till 3pm. The room at 3pm was completely dirty. She was clearly lying to me all the time and the bed was done long before. There was trash on the floor and hairs in the sink. It was disgusting. The other bathroom in the hostel was also very dirty. The receptionist works online and have no idea what the housekeepers are doing, or not doing and she is not willing to help guests at all. I saw her asking someone is that person works there, how she can not know that? Also the day I was checking out, the other receptionist told me I can store my backpack till 2pm and when I asked if I can pick it up at 3pm she just repeated the same sentence. Didn’t even say that sorry it’s not possible or anything, just was repeating the same sentence as a robot. Like why I can store my backpack only till 2pm? The hostel costs 75$ a night, I should be about to at least leave my bag there when I wait for my flight. It’s ridiculous. Also to rent a towel is $15. You can definitely find a better place in this price with nice and helpful staff. There are many different hostels on this street.

• Andrea (2/5): Not as advertised and poorly maintained. - Unfortunately, this hostel does not match the photos or description shown on Booking. The exterior and interior look significantly different from what is advertised, and the overall condition of the property is far below expectations. There is also inconsistent information provided to guests. The document sent at check-in states that check-in is at 2:00pm, yet staff strictly enforce a 3:00pm check-in and explained that the document is “outdated.” If policies have changed, official documents provided to guests should be updated accordingly to avoid confusion. Check-in is restricted due to “cleaning,” however, upon arrival, the room was clearly not properly cleaned. Floors were not vacuumed, trash was left behind, and during my three-night stay, the room was never cleaned. The document also states that bed sheets are changed daily unless requested otherwise and that rooms are cleaned every day. Neither of these services were provided. On my last day, after previous guests checked out, I pointed out leftover trash to the cleaning staff. When I returned later that evening, the trash was still there. The only action taken was placing a new garbage bag. There is only one bathroom per floor for approximately four or five rooms, resulting in constant queues. The bathroom was noisy, poorly maintained, and lacked basic amenities. Towels are not provided and cost $10 to rent, which is significantly higher than typical hostel rates. Breakfast and dinner are advertised as included, but both are offered only within a very limited one-hour window, which is impractical given the number of guests. Dinner was extremely basic, with no beverages included. When water was requested, only tap water was offered. Considering the overall hygiene standards of the property, this was concerning. There is no physical reception — communication is via a remote screen, and assistance was limited and inconsistent.
• Dora (1/5): Disorganized and dirty hostel - I liked the check-in online and the view from the room. The whole hostel was a mess, literally, and in other ways as well. It was the most disorganized hostel I have ever been to. The bathrooms are dirty, so as are the floors. Additionally, there was no light in the dining area. They were always late with dinner and the food was definitely not made by a chef.. it was like as if someone was trying to cook for the first time. Furthermore, there were 3 girls staying in the same room, and due to the lack of receptionist, who is physically there, one of the girls brought a guy into our room for the night, and they were disrespectfully loud (slamming doors and talking loudly at midnight). I am so disappointed and definitely not worth the money. The room doesn't look like the picture advertised, plus it has an extremely loud "aircon" machine. I could even hear it with my earplugs in.

Gut ist, dass es Frühstück und Abendessen gibt, auch wenn es sehr Basic gehalten ist Die Zimmer sind gut ausgestattet aber stinken und müffeln extrem. Es gibt eine Klima Anlage, die Wasser verliert. Der Boden ist Teppich Boden, weswegen es modrig riecht und das ganze Haus riecht sehr komisch und es ist stickig. Die Fenster im Zimmer kann man nicht zumachen, es hat rein geregnet und Blätter von den Bäumen kamen rein. Die Küche war dreckig und ich hab selten Personal gesehen. Mein Check in hat 25 min gedauert via Remote Rezeptions Personal. Am 1. Tag ging meine Zimmer Tür nie auf, musste immer das Personal Remote machen. Außerdem ist es sehr laut dadurch dass die Straße daneben ist und die Fenster immer offen sind. Ich würde nicht mehr her kommen.

Good value for money if you are only there to have somewhere to sleep. It’s not very comfortable to move around the property. Constantly having to go up and down the stairs and moving within different sides of the house to access toilets, showers and the kitchen area.

Todo estaba mal, todo sucio, nos cambiaron la habitación a último momento, no habia papel higiénico, y todo era un desorden, el desayuno era una tajada de pan con agua. Un robo este lugar

• Brittany (5/5): Very basic, decent location - Very basic but good location. Food was fine, bed was comfortable and there was AC, lockers and a power outlet by the bed. I wasn't aware it was a virtual reception until I arrived but check-in was ok, but I couldn't check out as there was no one there and no one answered the phone. The mosquito net on the window was broken and it was loud in the room from the construction going on outside - not the place's fault but there was no way of blocking out the noise.
• Shellmy (5/5): Cheap but not great - The location is good Very dirty, very confusing distribution. Horrible ventilation and extremely noisy. Between the loud fan, and the thin roof and walls you can hear everything . The bathrooms are gross!!
• Philip (7/5): Nice and central to cbd of Sydney and trains 😊 - The location was awesome being within walking distance to the botanical gardens and cbd. The really annoying and loud aircon that didn’t even need to be on as the outside air temp was 18 and the aircon was set at 20 😄 plus the window was open. Maybe some instructions for the younger generations staying there might help, as they seem to lack the common sense to work this out. Otherwise it was all good 😊

• Evelyn (3/5): Overpriced and bad facilities - would not stay here again - The curtains on the bed were handy - The room is way overpriced for what you get (compared to other hostels). Bedding, etc. is threadbare and the shared bathrooms are very old and kind of gross. - There is no reception at the property. The only contact with staff is via SMS. You are required to send your ID documents first via a payment platform and then again via SMS. - We were locked out of the property at 2:30am as the keypad on the front door would not accept the entry code we were given. We were either given an incorrect code or the keypad did not work. We ended up having to break in through an open window as there is no one at the property and our call wasn't answered. - The keypad for the room also does not work properly. At first it didn't let us in and then it did let us in, but didn't lock the door afterwards when leaving - leaving our things unprotected - There was a sink in our room, but you couldn't reach it as there was a portable aircon in front of it (which was also incredible loud)
• Juan Pablo (1/5): MUY MALO - La habitacion estaba limpia Solo un baño para muchas habitaciones (siempre hay q esperar), cocina demasiado chica, imposible cocinarse nada. Te ofrecen "media pension" , eso es una burla. No se puede llamar "desayino incluido" a tirar una bolsa de oan arriba de la mesa, y si qiwres un te o cafe, preparatelo (una solo pava para calebtar agua para todo el lugar). La "cena" fideos (sin salsa) , o arroz (sin salsa ni condimento), y ensalada (solo lechiga y morrones SIN CONDIMENTAR, u no hay condimentos!!! Si quieres, ve al supermercado y compra!!). Hay otra opciones de hostel, mejor equipados, con baños acorde a la cantidad de gente que algergan, y a mejor precio. Definitivamente NO volveria.

• Somervaille (8/5): - I liked the remote / zoom concierge I have never seen that before. I liked that ALL staff were very polite friendly hard working and respectful. I liked the firm comfortable mattress. I liked the bed curtains. I liked the on-site washing machine (free, including hot water if you want), and the on-site dryer ($4 per load, tap to pay). I liked the door code devices. I liked that breakfast and dinner are included. I liked the hot water in the shower. I liked the clean functional toilets including extras down in the backyard for more privacy and space. A couple of the door code devices may need repair / replacing. Some of the patrons were disgusting how they treated the kitchen leaving huge cooking messes for staff to clean up, do they not understand over time that might lead to an increase in accommodation coat for everyone, if staff are required to work longer to clean up extra messes. Some patrons were selfish in how they were not quiet during sleep time. Towels a little pricey at $15, for that i can purchase my own. The wooden balustrades could benefit from repair and daily wipe down as we all relied on them to go up and down the steep stairs everyday.

• Santiago (1/5): Nothing like the photos, dirty, very overcrowded and poorly managed - The hostel was very dirty and overcrowded. There were too few bathrooms sometimes I had to wait up to two hours to use one. Breakfast was chaotic, with long lines and not enough tables. The photos on Booking do not match the real conditions at all. I also experienced aggressive behaviour from a staff member, which made me feel unsafe and forced me to leave early. Other guests I spoke with had similar issues and did not receive refunds after cancelling. Overall very disorganised and poorly managed.

Les photos sont mensongères et ne correspondent pas à la réalité L’accueil se fait via une tablette ?? Pas pratique pour communiquer. Il y avait des cafards un peu partout. Tout est exiguë. Rien n’est vraiment propre. Il y avait seulement une salle de bains par étage. Je déconseille de venir ici.
