- Isabella (7/5): Boa, mas poderia ter sido melhor. - Gostamos muito do quarto, apesar de pequeno era confortável, a cama era ótima! Roupas de cama limpas, banheiro limpo, quarto cheiroso e bonito. A vista da cidade era incrível durante o dia e a noite. O espaço é bem rústico, o que para alguns pode ser ruim, para nós foi o esperado. A localização no meio da floresta é muito agradável, os pets da casa são fofos, o café da manhã era simples, mas bom! Não nos deram as chaves ao chegar, o quarto ficou aberto durante o período que precisamos ir a rua jantar, tivemos que usar uma chave reserva de emergência a noite antes de dormir. A recepção poderia ter sido mais atenciosa à detalhes importantes sobre a casa, chaves, quarto, café da manhã e etc. Foi muito básica, não conseguimos entender muito bem como entrar na casa e por isso quase ficamos presos do lado de fora ao retornar do jantar, por sorte o dono do local estava voltando ao mesmo tempo. A área externa da casa precisava de limpeza e a cozinha tinha um cheirinho de gato rs.

- Cookynight (9/5): Séjour agréable à Soul Rebel - Les hôtes sont très charmants et parlent anglais. Petit déjeuner au top entièrement fait maison. Explications pour arriver parfaites. Photos conformes à l'annonce. Nous avons adoré toute la ribambelle d'animaux, 3 chats, 3 chiens et Hugo la tortue ! Hébergement très éloigné du centre, tout en haut de Santa Teresa, donc difficulté pour trouver des UBER qui acceptent d'y monter.

Les petits déjeuners apportés à la chambre le matin sont très bons et sain. On ressent le fait qu’il soit fait maison et avec amour. Petit point négatif, car la piscine n’était pas propre. Et le manque de ménage dans notre salle de bain.
- David (10/5): Eine Oase im Wald von Tijuca, mit einer unglaublich liebevollen Familie 🤍 - Die Unterkunft ist ein historisches Haus in Santa Teresa, eine seltene Oase in Rio die einem Ruhe und Gelassenheit in der Großstadt vermittelt und man trozdem in der Nähe von den wichtigsten Attraktionen ist. Am meisten hat mir die Gastfreundschaft von Juju und Ariel gefallen. Sie haben ein wunderschönen Ort gemeinsam aufgebaut und das Essen ist köstlich! Ich wurde sehr warmherzig empfangen! Danke!

- Layla (4/5): - Zimmer waren ganz schön. Die Situation rund um das Zimmer war sehr unglücklich organisiert. Bei unserer Ankunft (Self Check-in) haben wir aufgrund falscher Infos das falsche Zimmer bezogen und mussten anschließend eine Reinigungsgebühr zahlen. Uns wurde mitgeteilt, dass unser Zimmer die zweite Tür im Korridor vor der Küche ist, tatsächlich war es die dritte Tür im Korridor, gegenüber der Küche (und nicht davor). Es gibt auch keine Zimmernummern die eine Verwechslung verhindern. Wir wurden daraufhin aufgefordert, das Zimmer zu wechseln. An sich wäre das natürlich kein Problem gewesen, allerdings wurde uns für diese erste Nacht eine Reinigungsgebühr berechnet. Das ist aus unserer Sicht nicht nachvollziehbar, da der Fehler nicht bei uns lag, sondern auf falschen Angaben beruhte. Auf Nachfrage wurde uns mitgeteilt, dass dies „immer“ so gehandhabt werde. Das lässt darauf schließen, dass ein solcher Vorfall nicht zum ersten Mal passiert ist?

J’y ai passé 2 jours toute seule et m’y suis sentie à l’aise et en sécurité. Les hôtes sont adorables et se sont montrés très disponibles pour répondre à toutes mes questions et me donner les meilleures recommandations. Le cadre est également magnifique et point bonus pour tous les petits animaux qui sont adorables ❤️ j’ai tout aimé

We upgraded to the loft in the upper floor, which was a great experience. Great covered balcony with superb views and a big bath. The small room we found less comfortable. Getting back from the city center was sometimes challenging: taxi drivers who could not get up the hill or could not find the place. But everybody was very friendly

A walkable dist - The property and location are beautiful and the rooms are lovely. Breakfast was delicious every day and the hosts are kind and helpful. The shared kitchen space wasn’t as clean as it could have been and lacked cleaning products. The location was a bit difficult to reach by bus and uber.

- Isabelle (10/5): Paradise!! - My stay here was so special! It’s a tranquil space up in the heart of the hills but the city is also easily accessible. Juju and her family made me feel at home from the moment I walked in. They were kind and attentive and so passionate about sharing their gorgeous home and lifestyle. The terrace and pool is a beautiful place to sit and relax and the room was gorgeous. My bed was the comfiest I had stayed in throughout my Brazil travels. Every morning I had the basic breakfast which was anything but basic. It was so delicious with lots of Juju’s homemade vegan goodies. They also have some really friendly animals there, their cat would sit with my whilst I had breakfast which made my stay extra special. I cannot recommend this place enough! Nothing

O café da manhã vegano é muito bom, tudo fresco, os anfitriões gentis, a Ju é muito solícita. O que mais gostei foram os pets, gatinhos e cachorrinhos. Nada a reclamar. Só a localização não é muito favorável para fácil locomoção, mas com paciência, pedindo Uber/99 com antecedência deu certo.

- Daniel (10/5): - Unfortunately, we stayed at SoulRebel only for 3 days. Soooo sad. Experience was more than amazing! Such a quite street, surrounded by jungles. You are inside the nature. House by itself - is very stylish and pleasant - especially to spend time near the pool. Everything in room - is very comfortable - you have a bathrobe, sleep mask, water, bathroom is clean. Breakfast is amazing and has various options. We didnt go anywhere for breakfast additionally. Cannot avoid mentioning Juju (owner) and her family, including all animals, relaxing near the pool. Thank you, Juju! Hope to return soon.

The room has everything you need, and such a relaxing place after a busy day in Rio. They are animal-friendly, cats-dogs. They are sweet. Great to walk to Santa Teresa center (during the daylight) its like 30 mins or just take a taxi. It is so much better to be a little out of the crazy center ;) All was amazing!

- Crina (8/5): Good place for a short stay - The place has a special charm and the hosts are wonderful and helpful. It is located in an area with great views surrounded by nature. It is a good place to stay for few days. We appreciated the help with the information we found in the room. While the property has it’s charm, the room was a bit too outdated, smelled like mold and the windows were not closing properly. The cleanliness of the room, utensils and frigde (had a really bad smell inside) from the room was not great so this is something that can be improved. Also there is a plumbing issue which we thought is caused by the area, but we stayed in other places in Santa Teresa after and found out it’s not. Not a huge issue for us but also not a great experience. Also please keep in mind the ubers will cancel a lot and you have to plan ahead of you need to go somewhere.

She and her husband have built a beautiful home, not just in location but in spirit. Staying with Lulu felt like more than just a getaway; it was an opportunity to connect, to learn her story, her dreams, and her passion for hospitality. And there’s no better way to do that than while floating in a pool, gazing out at the breathtaking views of Rio below. One of the highlights of my stay was the yoga brunch Lulu hosted—a gentle, restorative yoga class followed by one of the most incredible vegan meals I’ve ever had. Every dish was crafted with care, nourishing both body and soul. Lulu isn’t just a great cook; she’s an artist in the kitchen. As for the accommodations, my room was spotless, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. Every detail felt intentional, creating an atmosphere of calm and relaxation. If you're looking for a place that’s more than just a stay—but an experience—do yourself a favor and spend some time here. It’s a gift to yourself that you won’t regret. During Carnaval, some Uber drivers are hesitant to pick up from here, but scheduling a ride in advance or retrying a few times usually works. This was a minor inconvenience in an otherwise incredible stay!
- Michael (10/5): Everything is so perfect there. Wifi works well too. - Loved Juju, the dogs, the view, the pool, the food, the room and everything. So much better than staying in some random hotel. Sometimes Ubers are hard to get there but it's manageable.
- Alaaddin (7/5): Nice place but needs proper improvement and maintenance. - Juju and her family were super nice. The place made a good first impression, but it definitely needs proper maintenance. Many things were outdated and kept causing issues throughout my stay. I didn’t want to leave a very low rating, as I understand the impact it can have, but there’s a lot that could be improved. The cleanliness wasn’t great. While the floor was clean, there was noticeable dust in many areas of the room. The bed was uncomfortable, and the pillows weren’t much better. What concerned me more was the mold forming around the AC area, which should be addressed. Hygiene was also an issue. I was surprised to find pet hair inside the coffee jar in the room, and it was unsettling to see cats spraying in the kitchen area where utensils like forks and plates were kept. Several things in the room needed repairs. The window and the toilet door barely closed properly, making them difficult to use. The drain had repeated issues, which was frustrating. On top of that, the WiFi was extremely slow, I ran a speed test a few times and got only ~3mbps, which made it difficult to get anything done. I hope this feedback is helpful and that these problems can be resolved for future guests. Wishing you the best, lots of love 🫶

Location for me was bit out far from Santa Teresa centre but for others may be okey. Its just my experience as solo female traveller. As long as you don't need to travel daily its okey

The hosts are super friendly, welcoming and our stay really did not feel like at a typical stay at a hotel but rather like a visit at a friends house. The family that run the property are very sweet, as are the dogs which live there and keep you company. The only problem is that taxis/ubers don't want to come to the property especially at night. Many will cancel, and it can take a long time to arrive/leave. This is can be stressful when you have a flight to catch...
