• Isabelle (8/5): Au cœur de la vie locale - Le studio est spacieux avec petit balcon au 2e étage d'un immeuble appartenant à une famille chaleureuse, gérée par leur jeune fille très attentionnée. Le matelas du lit était vraent très confortable. Nous avons passé 4 nuits reposantes au cœur des coutumes et vies locales dans le quartier Sao Paulo à 10 min à pieds de la belle plage de Santa Maria, boulangerie portugaise, et de la rue principale touristique. Proche de diverses épiceries, mercado municipal et surtout de ventes typiques de petits encas, fruits vendus par des mamans cap verdiennes en brouette. Si vous souhaitez découvrir la vie locale n'hésitez pas. Nos fenêtres et balcon donnaient sur le lieu de culte des musulmans avec l' appel à la prière du soir dans la rue ce qui nous a surpris mais pas gêné. C'était plutôt inattendu. Ne pas s'attendre à une jolie vue du balcon. Les autres appartements donnent sur la petite rue de familles. Quartier pauvre mais riche de vie locale et de sourires.

• Lilly (10/5): - Lovely host & family! Great location in the community with friendly local people, living their normal lives. Yet good walking distance to beach, restaurants & main Santa Maria strip. A convenient corner store located downstairs for basics/essentials also owned by the hosts family. Delicious local restaurants in walking distance too. Felt safe at apt & in community at all times of day or night. Apt was also very clean (which is an absolute must for me!) Host was very accommodating and willing to go above and beyond to ensure my stay was wonderful from start to finish. Enjoyed my vacation & apt so much that I extended my stay. Host was very flexible and able to accommodate my extended stay request, too. All in all.... wonderful! I will be booking again when I return to CV. Thanks Larissa, Deborah & family. 😊 Host request that guests abide by quiet hours to avoid disturbing other tenants in the building. It's a fair request. But at times, dampened the vibe/mood when getting ready to step out at night and being overly concious of playing music, speaking on phone too loud, walking up/down the stairs in heels etc. Hosts state that no other guests are allowed at apt. If you have friend(s) and are paying for an apt on vacation, it feels unfair to state that a guest isn't allowed other people in their apt/space. Can feel very infantilizing. This rule should be reconsidered. Neither of these factors are enough to affect my 10/10 rating though! As stated before, I will definitely book again with Larissa when back in Sal, Cape Verde. 💯😊
