Guest Reviews
- Pat (7/5): -
- Garbutt-Lear (9/5): We look forward to coming back again - Location, it was very comfortable, we loved the spa. Was all lovely thank you. The only means of cooking was a microwave as well as it was a little hard to navigate the driveway in the dark. And as we are currently homeless the price for one nights stay was a little steep.
- Rob&Lisa (1/5): WHAT A NIGHTMARE - Nothing about the house !!!!!DO NOT RENT THIS HOUSE!!!!!
This is actually the worst house that we have ever rented.
Firstly the host, they are less than forthcoming with communication,. Was only when we complained to booking.com that they started to bombard us with messages.
READ CAREFULLY WHAT IS ADVERTISED YOU WILL NOT GET THE HOUSE WITH A SPA!
Instead you will get a dirty shower with hair in the sink! How am I meant to bathe my children in this unhygienic disgusting mess of a shower Disgusting!!
Then the couch had multiple stains, the laundry sink had some disgusting black stuff in it, only one towel for 3 kids and two adults!!!!! The towels smelt rank!
Stains on the chairs, stains on the carpets, stains on the beds, stains everywhere!!!
I am appalled at the service!
CLAIMING CLEANER ON HAND DOES NOT ANSWER THE PHONE!
CLAIMING “FREE WIFI” NO WIFI OR PASSWORD. !!!! TV did not work.
If you want to waste your money with this awful place please don’t hesitate!
But save your money we regret coming here this is disgraceful.
BUYER BEWARE DO NOT BE FOOLED BY THE FALSE MISLEADING DESCRIPTION OF THE HOUSE !!
- Georgina (3/5): ALWAYS read the reviews - Nice location Like other reviews - you don't realise you are sharing the space until you get there. We arrived to find 4 other people and a dog in the same building, and they seemed as surprised to see us as we were to see them. The photos do not distinguish between the two offerings - we were expecting a kitchen due to the photos, and the occupants next door were expecting a spa. The tv did not work, and the lighting outside was poor at night, making it difficult to navigate the narrow stairs especially when wet.
The place had not been cleaned. We found a previous occupants underwear in the bathroom, and another occupants clothing in the drawers. The fridge was turned off and had an awful odour. There were used sheets thrown in the cupboard. The sheets on the bed were dirty and the mattress itself is gross.
Overall really disappointing. There is such potential for the place to be a lovely, enjoyable stay if it was made more clear that you don't in fact have the whole purple house to yourself, and if some care and consideration was put into cleaning the place properly.
- Rachael (1/5): Abhorrent Disgusting Unhealthy Unhygienic Disgrace - Absolutely disgusting- the bed had been slept in, sheets dirty. Dishes in the spa! The neighbours have the code for the keys to this place and stayed here. Dianna does not take responsibility for your health, safety or a refund. Booking.com says it isn’t their responsibility and the property caretaker says he’s just the gardener. Never stay at this low life scum bags filthy shit hole. That people left food scraps and slept in the bed when I’d paid for it and not them
- Leeanne (7/5): Place was clean, directions to get there good but not happy that we had to share space with strangers - The area was nice Was not happy with the interaction or the explanation of property type. Need to be told that is was a shared property with a small kitchenette type set up and have to sit with strangers on the same balcony- not happy!
- Itai (9/5): -
- Mayer (4/5): - The location and view Holes in the fly wire or bedroom window
No usable kitchen or area to prepare food or wash dishes spa leaking no toileteries empty plastic bottles could not contact owners
- Charlie (7/5): -

- Fiona (5/5): -
- PaGo (10/5): - Colours especially . In house and outside
- Jamie (3/5): Overall very dissatisfied, this is an Aur BnB with someone literally right next door to you , the place was dirty & - Great location out of town a bit Not advised that it was upstairs , up a hill that you needed a 4 wheel drive to get up , other people would be there like right next door , the only description of this property that was correct is that it is purple . The ammenities were so outdated it was disgusting, the tv wouldn’t work , we were shoved in a corner not even remotely surrounded by bush land & wildlife . The bed was comfortable at least , not worth the cost of staying there
- Shiralee (7/5): Enjoyable. During would be hard to access with a small car. The driveway quite slippery. - The pavement going up to the house was a little loose, ¬ enough light when going towards the steps to house
- Martina (5/5): - Location. Bushland setting. Quiet area. Old furniture and bedding. Kitchenette , too cramped. Steps to the main stairs.
- Deborah (8/5): - Location was brilliant. Had everything you could need. Cold weekend but we were lovely and comfortable in the house. Beds were warm and cosy. Check in not till 3pm - would have liked to be settled early as we were only staying 1 night
- Kerrie (6/5): - Lovely location. Like many others, now I read further reviews, I was not aware house has 2 parts - a 2 bedroom with a kitchen and lounge (what I thought Id booked), and a 1 bedroom with spa (what I got). The other section was occupied by other people. OK, but wouldn't have chosen this acomm if I'd have known.
- Anni (7/5): - Clear directions for a comfortable apartment in a quiet location on a leafy block.
Host had generously left breakfast provisions and a bottle of wine. External steps and stairs, to the upper apartment, though pretty well lit, were little nerve-wracking to negotiate on a wet night
- Crock (5/5): A step into nature - Nice location, was out of the way and we saw wildlife in the mornings. Great if you have a car (we did not). The spa was nice and the keys were easy to collect. The room smelt quite strange we couldn't figure out what it was. There wasn't any space to cook or reheat food other than a small fridge and inefficient microwave. The bed was also a bit uncomfortable.
- Barbara (1/5): Uncomfortable and dirty, - The room was sold as a room with 2 beds. Only 1 bed. The bathroom was filthy mould. I will show photos. Someone else dirty sheets left in the cupboard. It was a one bed , we needed and booked 2 beds, The area only
- Ian (10/5): -
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Fortunato (8/5): My stay was short but will stay in my head a long time, fun relaxing and quiet all in the one place - Property was situated in a quiet little part of heaven 😆 no all was good comfortable for the two of us and the kitchen is a definite plus for breakfast in bed
- Esther (6/5): there was no purple lights to line the driveway - house was cute - outside lighting did not work - the beds were comfy we ran out of toilet paper - we booked thinking we git a corner spa and there wasn’t one. It apparently was booked out by different people.
- Aaron (5/5): Beautiful area much potential but disappointing has inaccurate advertising - It was a beautiful location I grew up in Hepburn and I wanted to take my kids there so they could experience Lush Bushland it was situated in a very nice area very peaceful It was advertised as a self-contained home as in I was expecting to have the place to myself also I booked it because it said there was a spa there was no mention of it being subdivided in there being other people next door and of course the spa was on the other side so my children did not get to experience the spa which leads one of the main reasons why I booked the place which was very disappointing additionally there was a few other little things DVDs but no DVD player, there were ants crawling throughout the sugar in the kitchen.
I didn't really care about the ants all the DVDs it's the simple fact that you rent a place for yourself in your children and then you find out that a blanket as being put up and people are staying on the other side of the wall.
Main disappointment is it's very misleading it looks like you're getting a place to yourself with the spa in the middle of the bush but you're not and then to have to explain that to your children I don't see why it has been subdivided when it could just be rented as a single unit with all features and functionality and the peace that people are looking for.
- Shaun (1/5): - Nothing Everything i want a refund plus compensation for getting bed bugs all over us
- Robin (10/5): Was a perfect night away! The bed was so comfy, the room was nice and warm for our stay as we walked in the door, the pr - Beautiful & peaceful Nothing
- Andrea (8/5): Brillant little place for an overnight in Hepburn Springs! -
- George (1/5): Do not book here it’s all shared and not personal to have a place to stay. - Location only I was told that only us two will be in the building, she confirmed many times we will be on our own. There were two other people there, we were lied to. The reason I booked there and paid extra was to have a Spa. When I got there I was told the tap mechanism is not working and to fill the spa with the shower unit which took twenty minutes. I put the shower on maximum heat but the shower took so long to fill that the water was under Luke warm to touch by hand and got into the spa and could not stay as it was very cold to the body and got out. When I rang to complain she said I could have filled the spa with the kettle. I told her that I have same spa at my home and I am not stupid to keep emptying the kettle. 2 minutes on the kettle to put one and a half lites of water every two minutes. That would be less water than the 300 litres of water to fill the spa. Bathroom door could not close and lock so the other people could walk in after they use the toilet.
The fireplace we were told was working and that she put a block of wood on to keep it going. The wood did not burn. I looked for kindling and there was none. I rang the lady and she told me to go to the service station and get some. There was blocks of wood in the car port but no kindling. She said that everything was wet because of the heavy rain and everything was soaked. She could have left kindling. It was very cold and we could not get warm. She also said that the cleaner lives down stairs. This was supposed to be us only not shared by others. Do not book at Purple house as I found out after all her properties are all shared Bathroom, which is not suitable.
I would give this place a Zero rating. Not even a one.
- Veronica (7/5): Good - Not kitchen area, so hard to clean dishes, prepare meal etc as no space, but we managed. Lovely, quiet location and great spa!
- Lynne (4/5): Not recommended . The premises need an overhaul before value for money is achieved. - Location was quiet, which was important to us.
The furnishings in our Double Room with View were old, but clean.
The bed was quite comfortable.
The bathroom had been updated, and was clean, but the enormous bath presented a problem.
The balcony was a pleasant spot to sit. 1. All through the night, a bright light shone directly into the bedroom window, intermittently, perhaps activated by a movement sensor, as wildlife came close. The bedroom needs better blackout curtains or a blind.
2. The kitchenette was substandard, with no bench, no toaster, tangled cords for kettle sitting on microwave, which was on fridge.
3. To shower, guests have to climb into the spa bath, which required exceptional agility. It was essentially dangerous.
4. The only practical spot to park the car was on a narrow, rocky slope, being awkward for guests on the passenger side.
5. The code for the locked key box was difficult to see.
6. The steps up to the balcony and the front door were very steep. Guests need to be especially agile.
7. The immediate surrounds were messy, with dead garden plants, old and dirty plastic chairs upturned, and an unloved ambience.
8. An up to date photo of the exterior of the whole house (instead of an artist’s drawing) would give an honest impression to guests of the premises.
- Pauline (8/5): Beautiful, quiet surroundings. - The location was lovely. Quiet and the beautiful outlook of trees and listening to the birds was lovely.
The beds are super comfortable. The key code for the locked box for me who wears reading glasses was difficult to read, the very small numbers to gain access to the keys took me a little time to get right
- Mcfarlane (8/5): It was exactly what I needed. - The location was amazing! Heard people walking around well after midnight and a 4x4 came roaring onto the property a
Sometime after that.
- Julian (8/5): Very good - It was convenient and well located. The only sink is in the bathroom which was so shallow, you could not fill the kettle up with it.
- Qilian (8/5): Very good -
- Pauline (8/5): Very good -
- Nina (1/5): Avoid, avoid, avoid! The worst experience in over a decade. - Location - in a quiet spot in the bush. Requesting extra offline payment for bringing a pet - advertised as no extra fee.
The room and furniture was old, dingy and dirty. Carpet not vacuumed properly. Rubbish lying outside the property. Windows not cleaned for weeks. Spiders in the bathtub.
Attitude of the property owner - unresponsive to Booking.com customer support, denial of uncleanness of the property and refusal to reimburse the booking fee when we did not stay there because of the room condition.
Note: the driveway is fairly steep and gravel. I had a car with a reasonably high suspension, so I was OK but other cars could struggle.
- Shu (9/5): “Thank you for an amazing stay! The house was clean, cozy, and exactly as described. The host was incredibly responsive -
- Donna (4/5): Disappointing -
