• Caroline (9/5): Stylish comfortable home - Fantastic stylish house with good decor and plenty of space for the family. Kids loved cinema room and Pac-Man arcade game and PS5 with loaded games! Beds were a bit soft but comfortable and bedrooms stylish. Location was about 15 mins walk to train station which was OK and plenty of local shops for fruit veg and other supplies. Garden needs weeded and weeds removed from front of house and window ledges cleaned. Looked a bit scruffy. Table and chairs in back garden were covered in bird poo and hadn’t been cleaned for a while. Not enough seats in living room for 6 people to sit comfortably. Rug in main bedroom looked like it needed a clean and damp patch at radiator in main bedroom was peeling. Table football game didn’t have any balls - kids were disappointed!
• Callie (6/5): Beautifully appointed, but far. - The pictures are extremely accurate, the home is well appointed, and my family enjoyed the arcade. Everything was decorated beautifully, like a magazine even. The home owners are wonderful! The heat was around 25 when we went in. It was so hot that within mins we were all sweating. We turned the 2 dial radiators to nothing/off/zero (only because it doesn’t go lower than like 11) and the heat was still pumping, it would not cool down. The digital one by the bathroom is on a timer schedule so no matter how many time we adjusted it to lower, it went right back up. We opened windows on the 2nd floor but we’re still unbearably hot all evening and night (it was 5 degrees outside mind you) because the heat just would not stop. Finally the 2nd morning I turned every individual radiator to 0 and that helped cool the bedrooms down but we still had to sleep with the windows open at night. Once we were up and moving the morning after arriving the evening before I noticed a few things. Several towels had stains, the kitchen towel had orange stains, the sheets on the bed in the primary upstairs had lent and fuzzy stuff between the sheet and duvet… none of these were clean. There was food on silverware drawer and the bin that hadn’t been cleaned either. The flat sheet on the primary bed upstairs was also too small for that bed and would frequently expose the mattress/cover (I find this to be disgusting). It feels like the cleaning service that’s used is doing the minimum and getting paid for the maximum. It’s not very close to a bus or train stop*** ***The hosts offered to send a technician for the heat and a cleaner but we decided against that because our belongings were inside and we had plans. Mac was very kind and we very much appreciated this offer!
