Guest Reviews

- Gillian (9/5): Rae, we will back next year as we really feel welcome & your studio suites us to a T. - Rae is a superb host. She had a freshly baked sourdough loaf with butter & jam to start breakfast. Plenty of teas & coffees. The room is extremely comfortable- our bed with beautiful accessories equals a good night sleeps. We looked forward to coming back after being out & about all day and cocooning ourselves in our own private space. Nothing
- Susan (10/5): Michael & Rae was excellent hosts. -
- Ra (10/5): Great retreat for a relaxing, comfortable and cosy stay in Bangalow. - The hosts were gorgeous enough to have a beautiful fresh sourdough on arrival. Aircon would be great!
- Tracey (9/5): -
- Pallavi (8/5): -
- Neil (10/5): We recommend a stay here. The village is quaint and lovely. - Lovely quiet location, friendly owners with a warm greeting.
Everything one would need for a couple of nights. We missed having a view of the valley behind the property.
- Phillip (5/5): Damp - Bedding and furnishings Difficult to access through an overgrown garden, broken path and steep stairs - during rain. The accommodation is south facing and affected by very high humidity. We needed to run a dehumidifier the entire stay.
- Lyndsay (10/5): -
- Michele (8/5): -
- Ross (7/5): Perfect for what we needed but surroundings are a bit neglected - Nice sized room. Well equiped. Musty smell. A bit out of town.
- Phillip (6/5): We were disappointed with too many things. I could not recommend even though a very nice host. - Host was very friendly and helpful. Lovely bread and preserves left for us. Nice towels and shower was good. No couch and very uncomfortable chairs. Spending a week sitting on the bed was not what we wanted. No blinds left us feeling exposed and was not very cosy. No ventilation unless door open, and quite damp. Basic kitchen facilities and place needs a very good clean. Two very different sized wine glasses provided - may seem like a minor detail but not I do not think so. We will be returning to Bangalow but would not stay again.
- David (8/5): Lovely apartment in Bangalow, friendly host and clean and well appointed. Very quiet location - Spotlessly clean apartment underneath the hosts home. Beautiful bed and linens. Well appointed kitchenette. Very quiet Musty damp smell was a bit off putting through the stay.
- Angie (9/5): We were happy with our stay - Was in a great location for us, the room was a great size and had plenty of space. Francis was very welcoming and kind. The only thing we would suggest is having a curtain or blind to cover the door at night.
- Gail (10/5): Would recommend for a comfy, affordable break in Bangalow - Everything we needed for our stay. Very comfy bed king size bed. So quiet and peaceful. Thank you Rae for the fresh sourdough and cherry jam. Would recommend for a stay in Bangalow.
- Manuela (10/5): It was fantastic! - The owners made me feel like home!
- Kerriann (9/5): Lovely quiet and very cool on a hot day - Lovely to be met by Rea and lovely property. The sourdough was an unexpected bonus and very delicious!
- Rosemary (8/5): -
- Anna L Webster (10/5): A gem of a place - The apartment was well laid out, equipped with everything we needed (toiletries, kitchen equipment, coffee, teas, and even food basics in the fridge). The bed was huge and very, very comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy.
Our host was caring and attentive, offering towel and bedding changes regularly. We used the laundry and drying racks, which were immensely useful, as was the dehumidifier.
The room was lovely and cool as it didn't get the direct sun during the day. The apartment was silent - no outside noises, only the occasional bird singing.
The apartment was ideally placed for a walk into Bangalow or a quick drive to Byron Bay and the surrounding areas. We could park on the driveway, which was large and safe, to leave the car off the road. The path to the apartment was lined with the most beautiful flowers (Clivia), and the trees were so fragrant. It really was beautiful.
We will definitely be back when visiting family again. Not a big problem, but blinds or curtains on the big patio doors would have been helpful to keep the room darker for longer in the morning.
- Peter (10/5): -
- Julie (9/5): -
- Lorraine (9/5): Lovely quiet accommodation. - Lovely comfortable, private, and very clean accommodation. Very tastfully furnished with everything required for a pleasant stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and dressed with quality linens.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. A blind or other type of windows dressing would make it appear cosier on the dark cooler evenings. Although with the heater, the room itself was definitely very cosy.
Additional hooks and a shelf in the bathroom would also be very beneficial.
- Nicola (10/5): - Location
Very quiet
Beautiful details and little extras Nothing at all.
- ellie (10/5): Rea was lovely & added extras to make sure our stay was comfortable, great location, gorgeous space. - Great location. Friendly hosts. Comfortable bed and very cute apartment style space.
- Jennifer (8/5): Very good - The layout, furnishings and decoration of the room and the provision of fresh bread, coffee and fruit were appreciated. Unfortunately due to the high recent rainfall the property felt damp and had a musty odour. The host provided a dehumidifier but this proved inadequate. There is a narrow concrete path and steps to the room which I found difficult to negotiate with a suitcase.
- Gillian (9/5): We’ll be back. A great place to hide away in - Rae provided breakfast starters. A lovely locally sourced loaf of sourdough. There was fruit provided. And the best - a jar of homemade cumquat jam..
The bed was a joy to sleep on - so comfy.
Rae is a lovely hostess
- Darryl (8/5): It was a very pleasant stay in a handy area. - Quiet location, within walking distance to town centre. Host supplied fresh bread, milk and fruit. it was perfect for a 2 night stay. Maybe a larger TV ?
- Billie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fabio (9/5): Superb - Complimentary bread, coffee and a bottle of wine!
- Michelle (9/5): We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at our Top of The Town apartment. - The bed was lovely and comfortable. The pillows were very comfy and the linen and towels were crisp and fresh. It was a lovely bright and airy apartment with a pretty garden outlook. There were no curtains on the large sliding glass doors to the property. For privacy reasons I would have preferred blinds or curtains.
- Dina (8/5): Very good -
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - Great size room and bed !! In a very easy location to get around ! A home away from home for our Anniversary weekend away ! With a few nice bits thrown in fresh bread fruit tea and coffee for breaky
- Leanne (10/5): Exceptional - The studio was peaceful and very private. Had everything I needed for my short stay. Communications were easy and clear. Thank you so much! Nothing
- Matthew (8/5): Very good -
- Janelle (10/5): Many Thanks - perfect for my needs. - It was so peaceful and quiet. Beautiful spot. N/A
- Kayla (8/5): Beautiful apartment close to town and Byron. - Location, comfortable bed, nice decor. Bathroom is very small. Access to the room is tricky if you have a lot of stuff.
- Laura (10/5): Lovely Appartment - Super friendly host Rea and lovely appartment. Would highly recommend it!
- Rhona (9/5): beautifully furnished apartment in lovely surroundings and a great host. great place to stay - the apartment was beautifully furnished including a super comfy bed. Lovely surroundings. The host was amazing, providing bread and goodies for my stay and giving me helpful suggestions. 2 mins to town. I would definitely stay there again
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning views from the location, which is on top of a hill overlooking the town of Bangalow. The walk up the hill.
- Chris (10/5): It was excellent! - Perfect little spot!
- Jenna (7/5): Great space for 2 with lovely host if the drain issue gets fixed it would be perfect for a short stay ❤️ - Really comfortable bed ❤️
Nice decor
Delicious sourdough
Close to town
Lovely host ❤️ Bathroom drain had a bad smell and it was musty in the unit.
- Lavinia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susan (7/5): Pleasant stay - Very private A little out of Bangalow
- Robert (7/5): Good - Privacy was poor. Double glass entry door with no curtains or blinds to
close if desired. Admittedly, there was no public access, but the inside was always visible from the outside.
- Anna (8/5): Well worth it, lovely location - Beautiful king size bed and high quality linen, large studio size room & very close to Bangalow township- about a 4 minute drive. Our host Rea went the extra mile and helped us with our bags & left some goodies (fresh sourdough, cheese and crackers, milk, fruit etc) in the room for us. Overall lovely stay The bathroom is very small and there isn’t much natural light in the room, however the quality of the decor, welcoming host and huge comfy bed makes up for its downfalls. Also careful if you are in a wheelchair or use a walker as this accommodation isn’t accessible.
- Tony (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gayle (7/5): Disappointing. Bed & room decor fabulous, but could be brilliant if above changes made. - The king bed was fantastically comfortable! Loved all the books & magazines. Hot water shower great Too small kitchen, tiny workspace -the small plug in cook plate was not the advertised stovetop! Only 1 saucepan. New bench with hot plate/ oven could be built out from wall into huge room space.Very narrow bathrm, no towel rails. The worst was no blind on sliding door, no privacy when in bed, morning light. No separate bedrm as advertised.
No place to open suitcases except floor-had to clear long cabinet.Steps down to studio.Musty smell when closed.Property hard to find, no sign Top of Town.
- Bruce (9/5): Have stayed here before. Rae is a fabulous host. Always fresh bread and jams await you on arrival. -
- Brad (9/5): We enjoyed our stay very comfortable, and enjoyed welcome goodies provided by Rea. - Very comfortable and cute. The Host, Rea was so helpful and engaging.
- Bruce (10/5): Excellent stay, would stay again - Quiet location close to town, Spacious room and very comfortable bed.
- Peter (10/5): Rae, our host was so welcoming and helpful providing us with recommendations on restaurants and nearby activities. - The accommodation was so clean and comfortable. Nothing
- Chris (10/5): Perfect spot for a quiet weekend in Bangalow - Beautiful room with the comfiest bed and a delicious spread of fruit and bread and spreads for our brekkies. Wonderful, friendly host. A nice walk into town and a very quiet space. Thank you.
- Lynne (7/5): Comfortable, clean and more than adequate for our 3 night stay. - Location was fine. Bed was very comfortable. Shower was a little small but the water was beautifully hot and I was happy to use the shampoo etc. supplied. We were a bit surprised that there were no blinds or curtains on the sliding door both for privacy and too much light in the early morning.
We were also surprised at the number of steps down to the accommodation. Definitely not suitable for anyone aged or disabled.
- Andrea (3/5): We left the property and found somewhere else to stay unfortunately. - nothing The property was under the house and extremely musty and smelt. We didn’t stay as I suffer from Asthma and the only ventilation was the door .
- Wade (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (8/5): Very good - Good comfortable accommodation. Walking distance into town centre. Host helpful with restaurant recommendations.
Plenty of blankets, heating, books. Very appreciative of the lovely loaf of crusty bread & fruit upon arrival. Would highly recommend and would stay again. No outlook.
- Kyle (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful interior vibe and heaps of space
- Elliott (9/5): Superb - Such a wonderful host who provided us with local bread, butter and fruit on arrival. Host also provided us with some great restaurant and activity recommendations. Location was perfect, very close to town and also Byron. Bed was extremely comfortable, would recommend this as a place to stay.
- Adrienne (1/5): We checked out after I night having paid for 6. This sums up our stay. - Location Expected a one bedroom apartment as stated on booking. Actual apartment is a studio with small kitchenette with limited surfaces to prepare even breakfast.
The studio smelt of mould and was damp. Nowhere to hang used wet towels to dry so added to the moisture in the air. Outside clothes line could have been used but weather was on and off rain.
Plates and dishes on an exposed long table smelt of mould and some had mould on them. There was a fan through the window which was on a timer to try to change the air but it is an unhealthy space in which to sleep or relax as there was no cross ventilation.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Marsha (8/5): Very good -
- Mary (9/5): A very pleasant stay in a beautiful part of the world - Very gracious host. Very well stocked and lovely bread, eggs , fruit etc for breakfast, not to mention a few beers for later!
- Jennifer (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lee (9/5): very comfortable hosts awesome and would stay again. - great host went above expectations by offering us a lift to a wedding was worried about heat an no aircon but it was wonderfully cool as double brick.
only negative is i didn't like no curtains on window (privacy and light in morning)
- Margaret (9/5): Superb -
- Jan (7/5): Good -
- Karolina (10/5): Exceptional - Lea and Michael are the best hosts ever! I highly recommend the studio, it’s very lovely and in amazing location! They are very responsive and friendly! Looking forward to my next stay there
- Barbara (10/5): Excellent choice for relaxing and exploing Byron Bay and the hinterlands. - We were very comfortable in the suite. The bed, in particular was heavenly. We also really appreciated flexible check-in, help with laundry, and the multitude of tasty goodies Rea left for us. Really above and beyond. Also a very quiet, safe location. No complaints.
- Mark (10/5): Quiet location with heaps of room and amazing, clean facilities - Amount of space, cleanliness, amount of effort Rea went to to ensure we were comfortable! Nothing it was perfect!
- Paul (10/5): Outstanding. - The location , ambience of the Studio, plus the hospitality and warm welcome from our hosts.
We had a wonderful weekend in Bangalow enhanced by our great accommodation.
We will be backOutstanding..
- Bruce (10/5): Super value for money, warm and inviting hosts. - Warm welcome. Rea had fresh bread, eggs, cherry jam and fruit on arrival. Totally unexpected, such a delight. Super close to town and easy access from motorway.
- Jacquelyne (8/5): Very good - This large studio was well equipped and tastefully decorated and the bed was amazingly comfortable. It was approximately a 15min walk into the village and a short 650 metre drive. Rea the host was very welcoming with beautiful sunflowers, local eggs & fresh bread and more.
- Kim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nigel (8/5): Very good - Nice roomy self contained unit, with some extra supplies left in kitchenette. Unfortunately the outlook was onto a small brick Retainer walled small patio. The house above has a grand view, the unit does not.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerry (9/5): Very good - All good Bathroom a bit narrow. Widening by 1 metre would be good without reducing the space in the main room.
- Alanah (9/5): Superb -
- Dean (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laura (8/5): Very good - Wonderful comfy bed, beautifully decorated, private and new. Omg the owner left me some food and bread that was the best bread I've ever eaten in my life! Just not super clean, but I'm a clean freak.
- Kate (10/5): Outstanding hospitality! -
- Tracey (9/5): Superb - There was a gorgeous vase of fresh sunflowers to greet me as well as breakfast provisions such as milk, butter and fresh sourdough. Not to mention fresh fruit. The bed was very comfortable with high quality linen. This apartment was exceptionally good value for money.

- Amanda (9/5): Host Rea was lovely , the location was great , the room had everything you needed , super comfy bed - Rea , gave us some beautiful fresh bread eggs cheeses 😊she went the extra mile
To make sure we were comfortable
- Melanie (10/5): Fabulous stay in the studio in quiet Bangalow - Rae was a wonderful host and thoughtfully bought some late night snacks / wine and fruits for my arrival. the bed is the MOST comfortable and very nice after jet lag and a long journey. everything is high quality here !lovely spacious little cottage at the back of the property with everything you need for a short stay in Bangalow. short stroll to high street. only the bright security lights coming on in the middle of the night w wildlife/ cats etx triggering them to turn on.
- Banks (9/5): Superb -
- Kerrie (10/5): Exceptional - Rea was so welcoming and attentive. She welcomed me on arrival and had gone to the extra care of providing a few staples in case I hadn’t eaten. So unexpected and so thoughtful Everything was perfect, so comfortable and spacious
- Murray (10/5): Exceptional accomodation and will definitely return -
- Elizabeth (7/5): All in all quite acceptable for a short stay, keeping in mind the distance to the Township. - You asked about Breakfast? there was no Breakfast we brought our own, as there was no indication of same being provided. We were a little disappointed with the location further out of town than was indicated, however having a Car
made things a easier, and maybe the true distance from the facilities/shops should be advised.
- Mauricio (9/5): Superb -
