• Ben (1/5): Terrible. - There was nothing to like as we weren't given the property we had booked and paid for. Similar to the experience another traveller had recently (see review 12 February 2025), we were told only 30mins out from arriving at the property that it wasn't available and "you've got an upgrade". Except it wasn't an upgrade at all. We had booked this place specifically with 3 beds for my wife and I and 2x children. The place we were given instead was a 2 bedroom 2 bed unit with a spiral staircase which is incredibly dangerous for young children. The new place didn't have the views touted in the original property we had booked, and worst of all we were locked out of the new apartment building shortly after arrival as the key fobs didn't work - the building manager advised that we weren't even meant to be in the building and wouldn't help us get back in. Luckily a person who lived on the same floor eventually helped me get back up to the room after I'd been locked outside for nearly an hour. But without a working keyfob we couldn't go out for dinner let alone meet someone down in the lobby who could deliver a meal. We had also paid an additional $100 for parking onsite at this property - surprise, surprise at our 'upgraded' property there was no parking available and we had to pay $40 to park overnight at a nearby parking building - without a sign of the money we'd already paid for parking..... A really disappointing start to our stay in Santa Monica. We had to find a new hotel to move to the next morning for the remainder of our holiday. We absolutely would not recommend booking via this host and are in the process of charging back our booking via our bank.
• Laura (1/5): Bad - We didn’t get to stay at this apartment. We had booked months in advance and were keen to cancel due to the fires. We were reassured it would be ok. I was so disappointed when we called to say we had arrived as we were told we couldn’t stay where we had booked and it was unavailable. We were then shown different apartments which did not have ocean views. I loved the look of what I had originally booked and after travelling over 20 hours with three kids selecting a new apartment was unsatisfactory. It wasn’t what we wanted to do. We got the wrong apartment. Not what we booked and paid for. No ocean views and not at the location we wanted and paid so much for. Very inconvenient to have to change this on arrival after travelling from Australia.
• Sandy (5/5): Passable - The location was good for restaurants, a bit of shopping, etc. It was nice to have a washer and a dryer Unfortunately, the apartment was VERY noisy. You could hear the street noise all throughout the night, with many people screaming and shouting until the morning. Lots of street traffic noise as well

• Toni (8/5): Overall recommend this unit! - The location was great and it was spacious. Appreciate that it came with a parking spot. Prefer written check out instructions in the unit. I didn’t know where to leave the key then found the instructions hidden in an email.
