Guest Reviews
- Neythan (10/5): Mi familia y yo lo disfrutamos mucho volveremos - Lugar mágico
- Zanete Eglite (10/5): - Thank you for the jungle experience!
- Fiona (10/5): Glamping at its best with horse and atv excursions available - Great location and superb facilities. Fabulous view from the tent. This site is very new and will only get better as the owner develops the grounds.
There are stables on site where you can arrange riding trips. We did this and they were able to accommodate both me(complete novice) and my boyfriend who is an experienced rider. Unfortunately the heavy rain made the trails slippery which was mildly terrifying for me but my boyfriend enjoyed being able to go for a proper ride, not just pony trekking as he says usually happens on holiday horse riding trips. The weather! Not much the hosts can do about that, just a shame it rained so much when we were there as we would have loved to explore the forest trails more.
There was building work going on but this was only in the day and we were out most of that time so it didn't impact our stay. They're building a bar/restaurant on site which will be a bonus.
- Daniel (2/5): Avoid this glamping site - better opportunities at Finca Verde Lodge nearby - We stayed at Volcano Tenorio Glamping Ranch as part of a family trip to Costa Rica, and we chose it because it is operated by the same owner as the horseback riding business we had booked (which, incidentally, was a disaster). This was meant to be the highlight of our daughter’s 11th birthday.
On the positive side, the cabins themselves are reasonably comfortable. Our unit had air-conditioning and a TV, which may help with heat. A staff member also brought a small cupcake for our daughter’s birthday, which was a thoughtful gesture and genuinely appreciated. However, there are several important things which travelers, especially families, should be aware of:
• First, there is no English-speaking staff on site.
All communication had to happen through Google Translate, including check-in. While we understand this is a rural area, the property markets primarily to international tourists and communication is important — especially if something goes wrong.
• Second, the glamping site is extremely remote.
From the main road, you drive around 15 minutes on rough and very bumpy dirt roads at low speed. I was very worried about what it was doing to my rental car. It truly is in the middle of nowhere, which may appeal to some — but it also means you are far from services or help.
• Third, there is no permanent staff nor security presence.
A lady checks you in, you gesture to each other as Google Translate doesn't work well in this remote region… and then she leaves. After that, you are essentially on your own. The security gate that supposedly kept outsiders away was not working and could just be rolled open. the If anything happens with other guests, a medical issue, or a safety concern, there is no one on-site to help.
• Fourth, there was active construction work during our stay.
Workers arrived at 6:00 a.m. on dirt bikes, revving up and waking up the entire camp. Then, lots of construction noise, drilling, digging etc. This really disrupted the “peaceful nature r
- Anna (9/5): Fantastische locatie!
- João (10/5): Our daughter got sick so we had to change our arriving plans and Bill was amazing and help us a lot. Next day I had a me -
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ines (10/5): If you like glamping, this is the place to be in Volcán Tenorio - Excellent view. Away from any type of urban sounds. We could hear the animals in the wilderness, particularly monkeys. Dillan was very helpful. There was nothing we did not like
- Joelle (10/5): Loved it! - We loved this place - even my friend who didn't want to camp or glamp or anything tent related. It was peaceful, easy to get to Rio Celeste, and multiple restaurants that weren't too far away. This place had everything someone could want - AC, a TV (we didn't use it), a fan, mini fridge, cooler (you have to get your own ice for it), and cooking items. We sat on the porch every morning/evening. I loved the open air shower. We saw multiple birds in the mornings and listened to the cicadas in the evenings. It was lovely.
Apparently they also offer ATV and horse tours, but we weren't able to take advantage. The driveway was really steep, but easily doable. No complaints because it got us to where the tents were!
- Noah (10/5): Soaking up nature in comfort. - We had three generations traveling together, so we filled all three tents. The setting was gorgeous and it offered a truly unique experience. It rained quite a bit, but that’s to be expected in a rainforest. If you’re prepared for it, it’s awesome. Glamping probably isn’t for everyone, but we loved it. The area offers loads of nature related things to do and we found pretty good restaurants nearby. We had little kids with us and could do the atv tour, but wish we would have figured out a way to do it in shifts. We’d been swimming during the day before we arrived and hung our things to dry, but they never did. The rainforest is no joke.
- Mark (3/5): It was raining on our stay the sound of the rain on the tent was deafening then when it stopped about 2am a pack of 5 sm - DOGS barking all night
- Nataraj (10/5): Best glamping tent near Rio Celeste waterfalls! - I was looking for a glamping place for our trip. Luckily, I found this. This is our favorite stay of our 10-day trip to Costa Rica. This place is so unique & beautiful. The tent is very comfortable with comfy beds and everything you need, including small appliances, utensils to cook your food & detergent to wash. This place is very well-planned, organized & so clean that it will exceed all your expectations. All pathways to the tents are well-lighted. Also, they provide flashlights to walk in the night. The tent's surroundings are superb. The trail inside the property was nice. We walked till the end of the property line. We saw frogs, some birds, a long line of ants carrying food with no beginning or end to it, a lot of fireflies shining in the dark, and the sound of howler monkeys in the night. Bill and Laura were amazing hosts. Bill responded to all my questions in detail. Laura was waiting for us for more than an hour on the main road to greet & take us to the glamping tent. She made us feel at home. She offered to get the groceries for us. Bill arranged for us to go out for dinner, and in the end, we decided to cook at the tent. There was an open shower to enjoy nature while showering. There is an ATV tour, but we couldn't go for it because of time constraints. I am very happy to say that we were the official first guests of this beautiful glamping tent. This is very close to Rio Celeste's waterfall. If you are visiting this area, this is the best place to stay and enjoy nature. It was an amazing experience & we loved staying at this glamping tent. Thank you, Laura & and Bill, for making our stay very memorable.
