• Eleanor (5/5): Spacious but with serious issues (damp, noise, mousetraps, electric shock from light switch etc) - Spacious as advertised. The beds were comfortable with clean bedding, plenty of towels, toilet rolls etc. The kitchen was fairly well stocked with crockery etc (including a minimal tea & coffee provision). Sofas were comfortable and would fold down into flat beds if needed. Gas fire good once we got working (see photo - no explanation on use from host when we were shown in, he didn't even seem to know it was a working fire) There are serious issues with this flat which we think need to be looked at before continuing to rent out: 1) Damp - we assume from lack of central heating, little daylight entering flat (ground floor with windows on one side only looking out onto internal courtyard with planted ferns), plus poor bathroom maintenance (including dripping shower with water not draining, and hole in sealant - see photo). I'd picked up from previous reviews that paint peeling off walls but only realised when we arrived that this was from a major damp problem. My husband has asthma and we were concerned he'd get breathing problems and we wouldn't be able to stay, but we said we'd see how our first night went and found sleeping in the furthest bedroom he was ok (this room not as affected). Door through to this area didn't close properly presumably as swollen through damp (see photo). 2) Noise - adjacent to building exit door with people going in/out mostly letting bang shut, rather than actively closing. This made a very loud noise which reverberated through flat. Happened until late at night (11pm ish) and from early morning but luckily didn't disturb our core sleep. Needs sign on main building door to say please close quietly. Or a soft-close mechanism fitting. 3) We were unnerved to see a mousetrap by the table in the living room then found another behind sofa - we didn't see any droppings or mice but meant we didn't feel comfortable leaving things lying about apartment, especially food. 4) Even more seriously, my son & I both got a moderately strong electric shock from turning on the light switch inside the door to the nearest bedroom (the switch by the thermostat). I reported this to our host via WhatsApp and taped over. 5) General poor maintenance (see photos) - 1 drawer missing from chest of drawers, tape round bidet hose, tiling & sealant in shower etc.
• Lea (7/5): Good Location and Host, but Apartment Needs Improvements - The location was great—situated in a quiet neighborhood but still close to excellent bars and restaurants. The apartment was spacious enough for four people. The host was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. The apartment was not in the best condition, with paint peeling off the walls. There was no proper heating system, and we had to rely on small heaters, which made it difficult to stay warm.
• Craig (7/5): Nice place and location shame about the pests. - Lots of space, great location. There was a mouse in the apartment we saw ok a couple of occasions running across the lounge. I messaged the host and they just ignored the message. It was also quite cold in the apartment as there wasn’t any heating only a few electric heaters dotted about.
• Russell (4/5): We had an amazing stay but due to time of year it was noisy - The property had a great location Unfortunately the apartment was on the ground floor and herd the gate and door all night long But it has a great location and apartment and as clean and tidy
• Reema (8/5): We had a great stay and will come back again - Perfect location We were in the heart of the hustle bustle but away from the noise The beds were comfortable and the host was helpful There are some renovations needed: bathroom lock needs to be fixed Heating system should be centralized Wall damage and chest of drawers should be fixed
