I booked a One-Bedroom Apartment for 3 people, based on the description: “1 twin bed + 1 full bed in the bedroom, 1 sofa bed in the living room.” Nothing mentioned that another guest stays in the second bedroom.
The day before arrival, I saw reviews mentioning someone else living there. I wrote to the host asking to cancel and refund — no reply. Later, he confirmed another guest stays in the unit. That was a complete surprise. We needed 3 separate beds and privacy. I informed him we wouldn’t check in and asked again to cancel and refund. He refused and blamed me instead.
We never stayed there.
I contacted Booking.com support. They promised to check with the host and asked me to wait. I stayed on the line for over an hour, but no one returned. A few minutes later I received an email saying they can’t help and I should resolve it with the host — even though I booked based on false information.
This was my worst Booking experience.
Advice: Ask the host in writing about bed setup and if you’ll share the unit with strangers — and don’t count on Booking support.
- Savannah (1/5): Guy secretly staying in one of the rooms - I liked it had an outside. I didn’t like that the property used false advertisement, someone was secretly staying in the house, both tvs didn’t work, cooking things such as pans and pots were already in the process of being used by the guy secretly staying in the household. We was only told about this maybe mid 20s guy staying in the house once he was touring us around the house, he also laughed about the tvs not working and said the guy would come in late and night and leave early in the morning.. this was a disturbing situation and it was still a lie! once owner let I called them said I was uncomfortable staying here with someone in the house, my boyfriend went upstairs opened one of the doors and he was already there secretly even after being told he would come late at night and he was already there! as I was telling the owner I was uncomfortable he told me I can’t get a refund and said I can’t expect a good house like that to be perfect, the guy in the house came down didn’t say a word and started looking at his cooking and went back upstairs, we left secretly and are still now trying to get are refund back! Please don’t stay here it’s not safe and they false advertise. (No towels either had to wait until the next day, nothing was prepared overall horrible experience)

We booked the entire place for two nights for four people due to work. The listing stated there was both street and private parking, but in reality, only restricted street parking is available—permit holders only from 10am to 2pm, Monday to Friday.
Fortunately, only three of us came, because the accommodation does not comfortably sleep four. There is one bedroom, a bed in the living area under the stairs, and I had to sleep on the couch. After completing the booking through Booking.com, I learned the owner couldn't issue an invoice—despite charging VAT and an additional £50 cleaning fee.
When we finally got inside, the property was in poor condition: unclean, unheated, and clearly neglected. The owner then informed us that “someone is living in the second bedroom,” despite having rented us the entire place. He also mentioned a deposit, which—based on other reviews—he reportedly does not return. Thankfully, in our case, he only mentioned it but didn't take it.
The kitchen floor was sticky, and we felt uncomfortable using the cutlery without washing it first. There was no hot water available except for the shower, which had the shower head hidden away and no lock in the bathroom door. Worst of all, just before 11pm—while we were trying to get some rest before an early start—the locator had a guest over who spent over 30 minutes chatting loudly in the kitchen while we were trying to sleep in the living area.
We left the next morning and checked into a hotel for the second night. Please do not make the same mistake we did. This place is not as advertised and does not meet basic expectations for comfort or cleanliness.
- Eddy (3/5): Would never stay here again - The house is in a really nice area and easy to get to It is listed as a two bedroom house, but when we got , one of the rooms was locked and we had no access to it.
On the property detail, it states that you have to give £250 deposit in cash that you will get back at the end of your stay. I'll tell you now that is a BIG lie, he never turned up at the arrange time and just ask if we can post the key through the letter box, and he will sand the money back by bank transfer when he inspects the house.
It's been almost 4 weeks now since the stay every time I message him about the money he always says the same thing which is ' i waiting on the bank to tell me why the transfer didn't go through'.

- Edna (9/5): Sra - Being a private house was already very good, I also liked the area because there is public transport all the time, there is a shopping mall and there is a forest where we can go for a walk and enjoy nature, very good, I would like the house to have better conditions, especially in the kitchen because that is where families use it, so families make their own meals and the kitchen could have better conditions so that families have the chance to make their own food, for example: a better cafeteria, a table or kitchen knife, broom, mop and bucket because someone might spill something on the floor and need to sweep or clean it. That's it, the rest is great.
