Guest Reviews
- Sara (9/5): - Very spacious, great location. A/C pumped. It was great.
- Noemie (8/5): - Great location, such a fun area! Very clean, very functional flat. The little kitchen was very useful and well stocked for basic cooking. We liked that the owner left a binder with some of their favorite restaurants and bars in the area. It is carpeted and smells a bit musty at first, but we got used to it. It is dark in the flat, as the windows look onto other parts of the building.
There was loud construction in the mornings, unfortunately (around may 20th). But it just made us leave earlier in the morning to go explore.
- Mondiru (9/5): It was a lovely Florence stay - It was a nice place somewhere close to the restaurants and bridges to the other side.
It was nice that it had washing machine.
Big up for the check-in lady, we were late due to traffic and she was ok It was dark inside with little to no sun sometimes cold inside.
- rossella (8/5): -
- Joe (9/5): Perfect location - Location was perfect for family with two young children. All the best places to eat and drink on your doorstep.
Host was very quick to respond on WhatsApp.
Apartment was a good size and comfortable.
Nulla.
- Sophie (9/5): Superb location for eating out and for sightseeing, helpful host, highly recommended. - Superb location just off Santo Spirito piazza. It's in the heart of a great area for restaurants, cafes and bars on the south side of the river, but only a 15 min walk to the heart of Florence, over the Ponte Vecchio to the Uffizi Museum and the Piazza della Signoria. We just walked everywhere all week.
Finding somewhere nice to eat couldn't have been easier, which was very welcome after a full day out - the host left us a list of great recommendations for all budgets which we worked our way through over the week!
It's true that the flat is a little dark in terms of daylight because the windows face onto the open-air interior you often get in Italian apartment blocks, but if you're just using the flat to rest or sleep it really isn't an issue, and there are plenty of lights and lamps to make it cosy. Interior facing windows also meant we didn't hear noise from the street outside even though we were in the heart of a bustling district. And the bed was properly big enough for a couple - it was king-size (in UK terms) and comfortable.
Finally, our host was super helpful and responded fast to queries by text, such as finding us a bar which was showing an important sports match, and ordering us a taxi when our taxi app didn't work.

- Nasim (5/5): The value doesn't match the price quite disappointing! - Only Location. I am extremely unhappy with this property. It’s too noisy, and other people have a key to the entrance hall, making me feel like I have no privacy. The cleaning products are stored on the entrance hall, and people are constantly coming and going from early morning to late night, which makes us feel unsafe. And no one told us about this and we was shocked first time when see people standing there as we not closed the other door. The bed and pillows are uncomfortable. Additionally, it’s unfair to have to pay extra for a key collection if you arrive after 6pm, especially since we’ve already paid in full. We have to adjust our schedule to fit the owner’s timetable, which is frustrating.
- Matthew (7/5): -
- Tanner (10/5): Great space and great location - Very large space in a great location. Easy access to pitti palace and lots of local restaurants and markets.
- Jacqueline (10/5): An oasis - The apartment was a perfect oasis in a charming part of Florence. It was ideal for our little family, easy to prepare meals for the little ones, and close to everything, but also a quiet retreat.
- Ioannis (6/5): Acceptable - Location is good, near various sightseeing options and restaurants. Room was generally comfortable and clean. Extra points awarded for tv subscription and wifi offered.
Lighting of the room was minimum but didn't really bother us. Access through elevator could be an issue for older persons that need to carry their bags from the 4th to the 3rd floor taking the stairs. There were instances that the elevator was not available because its doors were not closed, so we had to take the stairs.
The host let us know that we needed to buy our own toilet paper since this was the common approach (2 rolls were offered, we were 4 persons and stayed for 4 nights). To be honest we found this approach uncommon.
We asked whether we could leave our luggage somewhere else than the flat (i.e. corridor or storage room) for 2-3 hours after checkout. This was not possible here, as it has been in several other lodgings that we've stayed in the past few years. In this aspect no points are deducted of course but no extra points are awarded too since we paid 30 euros for luggage service and 25 euros for taxi to take our luggage to luggage service point, which was at the SMN train station .
- Barber (8/5): Convenient and restful as a launchpad for adventures around Florence. - It was very quiet at night and a great place to recharge. Close to many excellent restaurants and bars- loved staying in San Spirito! The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was well equipped and clean. Since we were four people, with the sofa bed pulled out there was very little room for us to hang out while in the flat. Luckily we weren’t there for much beside sleeping. Also the kitchen is very small and probably not enough to actually make dinner in. A bit dark too
- Leanne (8/5): The perfect base for exploring Florence. A lovely host, lovely place and enjoyable stay. - The property was spacious for us and our baby who is crawling. The blues and neutral decorations felt authentic, the property was clean. Everything we needed was provided, including a cot with mattress protector and sheet for our little one! The bed was comfortable (I like a firmer bed). Water was always hot in the shower.
The location was a perfect base for exploring. There were trattorias, bars and a couple of small convenience stores close by and main attractions were a pleasant 15 minute walk away. As previous reviews have said, natural light is severely lacking. This didn’t bother us at all as our stay was in the winter anyway and we were out all day! There is a lift but we were asked to only use it on the first day and last day to get the suitcase up/ down as it can be temperamental. This was fine for us as we carried our daughter and folded up the pram but for those with accessibility requirements we would not recommend this property and the lift is tiny. It also does not stop on the floor that the apartment is on, so you need to go down some stairs.
- Rares (9/5): Superb - Very nice interaction with the host.
The location in an old building with wonderful ceiling.
Location at 5 minutes from Pitti palace and 10 from ponte vecchio.
Many good trattoria and osteria on the same street, caffe in 3 minutes ( for coffee lovers)
Very clean (with 2 exceptions) 1.The most important: the smell in the appartment is disturbing with windows closed. We kept the windows open all the time, day and night and succeded to diminish the intensity of problem (smell). It would be wonderful for the location to solve this problem, to rich the maximum from the properties advantages.
2. the pillows from the bed in the living room, in need to be changed.
- Maria (10/5): Great experience - It is located at an excellent location. Walking distance to the historic site. Excellent restaurants around.
- Nancy (8/5): Very good -
- Lynda (10/5): Would come again - Spacious. Fantastic area. Close to main sights We really missed not having a proper kettle.
- Donna (8/5): Lovely apartment in great location - Good size practically fitted out for a short break
- James (8/5): Very good - Great location It’s quite dark as not a lot of natural light is able to get in. But it is very cosy.
- Bernard (9/5): Superb - The size of the apartment and rooms was perfect for our family of 4. The location was nice and safe, but not too touristic. Nothing major, but if I had to pick a few I would say the communication with the host prior to our stay was lacking and tye lift was a squeeze for our pushchair!
- Jane (8/5): Excellent location with lots of character - The location was fabulous. Across the Arno away from the crowds but accessible to all sites.
Lovely piazza for coffee and/or Apertivo. Good selection of restaurants. The apartment is very comfortable with all the conveniences for a short stay. Very clean — wonderful wood ceiling — old worldly!! Nothing really. It’s in an inner courtyard so a little dark.
- Elana (8/5): Enjoyed our stay. - It’s quiet. Good location. Washing machine and heaters. Initial access to appt. We had to wait in the street with our bags for 30 mins before someone happened to come out and helped us. Lost power for a while and had difficulty finding power switch as it was different to the book instructions. No torch found. No tea towels to dry dishes. No dish washing detergent to wash dishes.
- Jing (8/5): We had good stay in Florence at Lara’s apartment. - Lara is very helpful and very easy to communicate. The bed is very comfortable The bedroom is slightly dark
- Monique (7/5): Good - Location and host were great. It is very dark with little natural light and low ceilings, also has a bad mouldy smell.
- Natasha (5/5): Passable - It had a washing machine which is very beneficial when travelling for 1 month. Couldn’t get past the smell and it did not have much natural light.
- Megan (9/5): Atmosphere and space - Very spacious - especially the bedroom . Comfortable, big bed . Super location . Problem with bathroom was immediately dealt with by host . Kitchen is awkward. More shelves needed to place shopping . Bathroom is nicely decorated- could do with a few hooks to hang up towels or other items.
- Raphael (10/5): Great location close to amazing restaurants and pubs - The location is exceptional. You are just a few blocks away from Palazzo Pitti and Ponte Vecchio, and right in front of Santo Spirito Square, full of good restaurants and pubs, but yet, away from the crowds of tourists hoarding the city. The staircases. If you have knee pain, it might be a problem. There is a lift, but I am not sure if you can request the keys to use it. Other than that, everything in the apartment itself is good.
- Aisling (8/5): Spacious, clean apartment in the best neighbourhood - Spacious and very clean apartment in the best neighbourhood in Firenze, close to great restaurants and a buzzing piazza but not noisy at all. It had everything you’d need for a short stay - cooking utensils, iron, hairdryer etc. and lots of local recommendations from the host. The apartment itself is a bit dark and lacks natural light, but this didn’t bother us because we were out most of the time.
- Mark (7/5): Good -
- Isabelle (8/5): Very good -
- Artur (10/5): Great👌🏻 - Location, space
- Serena (8/5): Very good - position one set of keys
no view
- Oendrila (10/5): Exceptional - Cozy stay
- Gergana (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent location-in the historical centre of the town. Only few minutes and reaching piazza with great restaurants. Just perfect.
- Mounia (4/5): Disappointing - Large apartment. A huge disappointment: the pictures are misleading! There's hardly any daylight entering the apartment, whereas the pictures show a very bright apartment!. The pictures are incorrect and should be changed to reflect the reality.
- Anonymous (10/5): It was wonderful! - I loved the location and how big it was! The host was wonderful and gave us a ton of food and drink options. There were no windows with natural night so the place stayed a little dark.
- Bobbie (8/5): enjoyed our visit - great area no hand or bath soap
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - Perfect location, in historical center of Florence, restaurants, shops nearby, a few minutes walk to Ponte Vecchio and Uffizi. Very comfortable, fully exquipped, very clean. Vey quiet. Bedroom is a bit dark, windows look out onto walls of another building at short distance.
- Luciano (10/5): Exceptional -
