Guest Reviews
- Pamela (7/5): -
- Gloria (7/5): Easy access to Puffin site - Easy access, spacious, clean. Kitchen too dark. Power kept going on and off in kitchen area. Door difficult to unlock. Musty smell.
- Guest (8/5): Was a nice convenient place to stay for the night. - Nice view. Close to the puffin sanctuary. Well equipped. Could hear the guests upstairs walking around.
Would be nice to have instructions on how to operate the TV.
- Daniele (6/5): Not enough room to be called a suite. - The location was perfect. The bed was comfy enough although a bit soft. Being close to the Puffin Café was an asset. The room was too small, there was no place to “hang out” during the rain. The pillows need to be changed. The chairs are also uncomfortable.
- Dena (9/5): Excellent location, very comfortable - Lovely room and a gorgeous view from our front patio. Nice quiet location with lots within walking distance and a short drive to the bigger town of Bonavista. Could use some soundproofing between the rooms.
- Carolyn (8/5): Ocean view - Location fabulous Advertized as bed and breakfast
.No Breakfast
- Kevin (9/5): - Beautiful location, close to good restaurant, well equipped.
- Kathy (9/5): -
- Miles (7/5): -
- Trudy (8/5): - It was clean No privacy, people above us and to the right! Same patio for all!! Nice view but chairs outside were plastic and full of spider webs
- Barb (9/5): - Location and facilities
- Barbara (10/5): -
- Brian (9/5): Loved the area. Perfect location to see all Biennale installations; great view and telling opportunities; very dog frien - Location, facilities A little pricey
- Guest (5/5): - There was no breakfast
- talbottails (9/5): A warm, welcoming vibe, the view was magnificent. -
- John C (8/5): We had a great time loved the area and would definitely recommend it to others - Amazing view. Very close to Puffin viewing area. No sound barrier between units. Can clearly hear other guests in attached unit. Did not feel very private.
- Judi (9/5): - The view was amazing!!! The old wash machine in the hall. Cool old machine just awkward placement.
- Ellen (10/5): Amazing location, clean, out of the way. - Location to Bonavista. Directly looking at the ocean, literally from our bed! No cell service. But not their fault. Wifi was fine!
- Guest (10/5): We loved the stay. - The location of the stay was right in front of ocean and the home was very spacious. None
- RussellU (9/5): - Great location in Elliston. The room was great with a soft bed. There was a fan provided as well, which helped with the heat. I also enjoyed having a full bath and not just a shower.
- Serge (9/5): I highly recommend this place - Very nice cosy place nice view of the ocean, lots of windows
A very nice patio
- Kristi (7/5): - Beautiful location, literal walking distance to restaurants and a corner store, Gift shops, and just a short drive to the town of bonavista. The room was spacious and provided all the important immenities. Beautiful front porch to sit and soak up the ocean breeze.
- Michelle (10/5): - Loved the soft bed.
- Liu (10/5): -
- Gloria (9/5): Enjoyed the accommodations and the area. -
- Andrea (9/5): I loved waking up to the sunrise over the ocean. I quicklygot out of bed and drove the less than 5 mins drive to sit wit - The view was stunning! The bed was so comfortable everything in the room was lovely. 🤔I don’t think there was anything we would
Change
- Guest (9/5): We had a wonderful time. The place is clean and the location is excellent. I strongly disagree abouy - Gorgeous location.
- Chogyal (8/5): Great view n location property - Conveniently located and overlooks the ocean..
Great place to relax in the evening
We had a suite so it was compact and very Japanese 😁
There is parking for each room just outside
There is a restaurant just next to the property and the food and drinks are good and the staff are very friendly.
There is a convenience store next to the restaurant and basic but serves the purpose
Very central to places of interest and easyvto drive around
Google map is fairly accurate and they are just after the Post office Nannies restaurant was not too great though it was recommended
A bit tight o space, but ok
Dont use all the appliances at the same time
- Ball (9/5): Wonderful stay in Elliston - The location was excellent and the king bed was very comfortable (and very high). We appreciated the coffee maker and refrigerator in the unit. There were many windows in the bedroom which was great for cooling the room at night and getting fresh air. The bathroom was spacious and everything worked well. The ceilings were quite low which was a bit tricky for my husband. On the other hand, the microwave (which was handy to have) was so high that I couldn't reach it at all. Luckily my much taller husband could. The king bed unit was on the upper floor and required climbing a flight of stairs, which was fine for us but might be good to mention for those with mobility issues. In general, I don't have much to say that was wrong but just some information that might be helpful for others.
- Jianrong (9/5): -
- Cynthia (4/5): At $300/night, value for money is lacking. - Ocean view Beds and pillows. Too soft; inadequate body support.
- Edward (8/5): Great sea view - Near a restaurant and liquor store
- Elizabeth (10/5): -
- Anne (10/5): Amazing property with lots of space and wonderful views! - Very spacious. Awesome view of whales in the bay. Very convenient to puffins and Bonavista. Nothing
- Tom (7/5): - This is the ideal spot for visiting the puffin colony, just a stone's throw out of town. There are also nice cliff walks nearby and it's "the root cellar capital of the world" too. Bonavista, with more spectacular cliff walks, restaurants and whale tours is only 10 mins down the road. I didn't meet the host but everything was clean and comfortable. Only downside, I was in a ground floor room, and the noise from whoever was above me walking across the wooden floors was quite noticeable.
- Guest (5/5): Wish hostess had been there to welcome guests. Wishing communication was better - I booked this b and b, thinking breakfast was included. When we got there we asked what time breakfast was and where it was. Apparently breakfast has not been served for 5 years. The shower did not function properly and so first morning showers were with cool water. Communication.
- Shuqing (10/5): -
- Whitney (10/5): We loved our brief stay at Bird Island and wish we could have had more time there.ot was a great place and conveniently - Great location!
- Tanuj (7/5): Book it for location - Fantastic location. The owner was a nice person, very accommodating. The property itself could use some upgrade. It's an old place and there were small bugs everywhere Bathroom, bedroom etc. The roof was creeking when the person in the room above us was walking. The owner was nice to communicate to but they need to understand when people are traveling they may not have cell signal and won't be able to reply within a certain time limit. She said she could make the pull out if we can ask her the same day she sent the message. This was sent to us a day before check-in. We did not have any cell signal so did not get the message (neither Rogers nor Telus gets the network here). We asked her next day and she did accommodate our request (we are thankful) but sternly reminded us that we should have her asked her yesterday. I take a lot of pride in being communicative but I cant do much if I don't have cell signal

- Carla (8/5): A beautiful place for one night and viewing the sunrise. - The location is ideal for puffins and gift shop. The puffin island is a two minute drive. It was also easy to find. The house had plenty of space for a family of 4 with high school/ University kids. The building is old construction so a few bugs but clean. We got up to see the sunrise and sat out in the deck to watch it. Perfect! Just a warning, there is no cell service in Elliston but they had good wifi. The ceiling is low due to the old construction so be careful coming down the narrow staircase.
- Theresa (9/5): It is a beautiful place to stay. - The house faces the ocean, enjoying the ocean view just sitting on the front porch, so beautiful. The parking is in front of the house, the cars block the ocean view when you sitting on the front deck.
- Dave (10/5): -
- Guest (9/5): Excellent stay and recommend! - Perfect location, lovely views, comfy king bed! Just a suggestion to mimic the Airbnb listing to be more clear of this now being a 3 accommodation home and detailing what’s included in each.
- Guest (8/5): -
- Marilyn (8/5): - The view was great! Close to the puffin viewing area. There were bugs crawling on the floor in the bathroom.
- Angie (10/5): We really enjoyed our stay. Owner was very attentive and accommodating - I would not hesitate to book with them again - Lovely accommodations, incredible view, great location. My only suggestion would be is new sheets and pillows. Sheets were very beaded and pillows were flat.
- Lori (10/5): -
- Paula (5/5): Would not recommend with anyone with hip issues like I have - We’re not told that we had to go up stairs not impressed with that photos did not match the room very small room no place to sit comfortably and relax
- Barry (9/5): -
- Duggan (10/5): Good experienc - Beautiful scenery. Close access to the Puffins.
- Keating (7/5): - Location King bed suite was on the upper level. For those with mobility issues the steps are a bit steep. King bed was very high, not that easy to get in. Comfortable non the less.
- Lisa (9/5): Beautiful home and lovely visit to Elliston - The house was lovely with plenty of space for everything. All appliances are up-to-date and it was great having a washer and dryer available. Has everything in the house that you could need during your stay and the home has details that are unique and interesting. We loved the area, being able to walk to shops, have restaurants nearby and only a short drive to see puffins. Would absolutely stay here again! The ceilings are a little low, but that’s likely since we’re tall.
There are people staying in a room that shares a wall and we could hear every conversation they had and every time they walked upstairs or answered the phone so that could be a little distracting
The house is lovely and a bit older so there was some creakiness during a windstorm.
- Peter (10/5): Great place, will come back - Great position, ocean view, spacy bathroom, near puffin observation area Nothing
- Karen (7/5): - Beautiful location overlooking the water. Restaurant within walking distance to restaurant. Easy to get to view puffins and root cellars. Very large unit. House is showing its age, a bit musty when we got there, but I was able to open the windows and get a lovely breeze through the house.
Parking is on the grass in front of the property and a bump up from the road.
Listing said breakfast included. That is no longer the case.
- Guest (9/5): Quiet and peaceful - It’s listed as a B&B, which means bed-and-breakfast and there is no breakfast. The house is dated and not a very good heating system, but the view is fantastic. Nice little restaurant next-door, but unfortunately, not open for breakfast. That was a big problem we were told it was in prepare for that The owner should have left a cell number. The rooms are small, but the bed was very comfortable. The washer and dryers are fantastic except we didn’t use them. The view couldn’t be better. It’s a nice quiet location. I think it’s a little expensive for how outdated the furniture is
- Alma (8/5): It was good - Very quaint and location was really good to go to Elliston for puffins and Icebergs in Bonavista It served our purpose
- Debbe (10/5): Lovely cottage near the Puffins - Lovely unit. Small but well stocked kitchen. Great location and view Wifi could have been better
- Wendy (8/5): Charlotte was lovely to deal with and the property has lots of charm. Simple accommodations but great for the value cons - The location was incredible. Views were picture perfect. Beds were a bit small. Definitely not made for larger couples. But they were comfortable.
- Thacker (9/5): Loved it!! - We loved the location-easy to walk around the town and to access the souvenir shops, restaurants, and grocery store. And the ocean view with the iceburg in the distance was also excellent! It was not very soundproof and we could hear the people upstairs walking around.
- Guest (8/5): -
- Guest (9/5): What a view - We stayed in a small unit on the second floor the unit was small but had a comfy king bed , big bathroom and fridge, coffee maker and was perfect for our one night stay for two. The view from the bed was amazing overlooks the ocean. There is no breakfast but a little diner just steps away. Place was spotless and there was a larger unit that would be great for a family . We visited the Sealing Museum and it was well worth it.
- James (8/5): - Coffee pot carafe does not fit..not for that coffeemaker.
- Heather (8/5): -
- Brittany (10/5): Amazing views! Comfty bed. Loved it!! - The view was amazing! And the bed was super comfortable This wasn’t an issue for us, but I don’t recall seeing that it was on the second floor on the posting so I might recommend adding it on there (if it isn’t already) for accessibility.
- Creamer (9/5): Cozy, clean and in a great location. - We loved how cozy the suite was. The bed was super comfy, the shower was really clean and we admired the overall warm cottage feel. I really enjoyed chatting with the two older gentlemen who were doing work inside the house. They were so friendly and offered great tips on what to do in the area. :) Nothing! Only thing I noticed was the coffee machine hadn’t been cleaned out from previous guests.
- Guest (1/5): If you are okay with a rustic room and sharing your space with bugs then you will be happy here - This IS NOT a B&B - no breakfast was provided so not able to rate the breakfast There were numerous bugs in the unit consisting of large black ants, carpenter bugs and little worms. They were in the tub, on the walls and on the floors. The bedding had a mildew odor and the towels had bleach stains. Because of this we moved to a different accommodation that was bug free with clean linens.
- Paul (8/5): Very interesting small port. - Peaceful setting. Less clutter.
- Van (10/5): -
- Patricia (2/5): Not worth the price! - The view was lovely …. NOT worth the price …. bugs everywhere! Don’t care that they are passive, don’t want to see them!
We stayed in so much nicer & cleaner places for the same cost & breakfast was included!
- Miriam (9/5): Best location for viewing puffins - bring binoculars! - Great location for viewing puffins.
Host provided access to clothes washer & dryer. Bathtub was slippery
- Guest (3/5): Although the location is beautiful to experience, the home needs a significant upgrade. - The scenery was lovely the environment was quiet the beds were comfortable. Dispite having an old charm, this home needs updating badly. Door knobs are falling off in the upstairs bedroom and kitchen cabinets need to be replaced. This place needs a good deep cleaning for example the light above the kitchen table. Be aware of the shower curtains they are about 6 inches too long and create a hazard when showering. A handle bar in the bathtub would be helpful getting in and out.
- Xin (10/5): -
- Oksana (10/5): -
- Deana (10/5): Great Stay! - Easy check in, great views, quiet, peaceful location. A little tricky to locate if you're not used to the area. Just follow the signs .
- Xiaomei (10/5): -
- Chris (8/5): -
- Carter (10/5): -
- Carole (8/5): -
- Marie (9/5): Perfect - The location was perfect. I could sit in bed and look out to sea a few metres away. The room was very comfortable and spatious. The property is as close as you can get to the puffin viewing point
- Renee (8/5): -
- Jessica (8/5): -
- yuming (8/5): -
- Trevor (9/5): Cozy space right near the puffin viewing site. Recommended! - Great location, scenic view, large bed, good water pressure in bathroom! Upstairs King suite has a rather high bed and toilet but low ceiling. Would only recommend to people between 5'6" and 6'1". Mattress is creaky, bathroom door was quite squeaky.
- Valli (10/5): - The location
- ling (1/5): This B&B left us with a very bad impression. Their unilateral cancellation had a huge impact on us. They so-called h - Nothing Management
- Fowler (8/5): -
- Dongxia (10/5): Enjoy - The house faces the Ocean, very nice view. The room is clean and neat, the location is easy to find and very close to the bird view site.
Rien
- Kevin (2/5): There was sewer gas in bird island and mice in second unit -
- Monica (10/5): Cozy stay in Elliston - Bed was very comfortable. To be able to see the ocean view from it too was amazing. Conveniently located to the puffins and Bonavista. Host was great to work with. Would definitely recommend. Nothing
- Corso (10/5): Splendido - Posizione meravigliosa, letto comodissimo
Tutto l’appartamento è ben curato Nulla
Na
