Guest Reviews
- Sparrow (9/5): - The rooms were beautiful and clean with great facilities. The location was very nice and the owners were lovely.
- Ken (4/5): Very uncomfortable sharing a residence with the owners - Nice house, but with a kitchen that was "OFF LIMITS" and very uncomfortable, knowing we could have been watched at all times. - Nice people, but the accommodation was nothing like the carefully worded description on the website.
We were essentially forced to eat out every evening, as kitchen was inaccessible to us, but we had to share the smells of the hosts cooking, which was not always pleasant. We thought Airbnb's were supposed to have a self contained area with a separate entrance, but this was a bedroom, bathroom, toilet and a room converted to a TV room at the REAR of a family residence. Only access was through the front door of the house, with the owners in residence.
To unload our car, then reload when leaving, was a major operation, so pleased when we were finally able to depart and move on to more suitable accommodations.
- Dianne (10/5): Hosts were amazing, they gave us privacy as much as possible - Very clean, everything we needed was there

- Declan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Subero (10/5): Exceptional - Everything from the hostess to the facilities Nothing everything was perfect
- Nariko (9/5): Superb -
- Shani (7/5): This accommodation would suit a couple or single needing to have access to Cairns' northern beaches. - The location was very convenient and the bus was a short walk away. The house and accommodation were immaculate, clean and well kept. The hosts were friendly and quiet. Nice linen on the bed which was comfortable. I didn't use the pool or deck area, but it looked nice. The access to the self-contained accommodation was through the main family home. This was a little disconcerting but not really a problem because the family were quiet and discreet and often not at home. There was no hand towel in the bathroom, but I spoke with the hosts who said they were changing the arrangements to allow guests to keep their bath towel hanging in the bathroom. The kitchenette and sitting room was basically just a second bedroom with kitchenette contained in the mirrored wardrobe. Perhaps this would be better with the doors removed and a curtain as it was tricky boiling the kettle on one side and then needing to slide the doors to access the milk in the fridge. Little, first-world problems of course!
- Fleur (6/5): Pleasant - it was very clean, tidy and comfortable. to be honest, I didn't realise it was only a room booking in a house, as i had made the booking very quickly. Although it was lovely accommodation, I think I would look more carefully when booking to ensure I was the only one in any accommodation, but that is my personal preference, nothing against the accommodation itself.
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fiona (9/5): Superb -
- Ofir (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing host, very clean place!
Howie and Bronwyn are great and will help you with every thing you would like, everything!
The place also have bbq if interested. Great pool and great room. Great spot near both trinity beach and its night life and to kawara beach. Very pleasant staying, wished we had more time spending in cairns so we could stayed longer. Howie you rock! We Love you mate!
- Andrea (10/5): Homestay with a lovely family. - Lovely family who go out of their way to make your stay an enjoyable one. Very clean and quiet. Bed comfy. There is a large closet in the room with hangers and a set of drawers. Plenty of space to store clothes. There is a shared bathroom but not an issue for us. It was always available when we needed. Shower is amazing - whisper quiet and very relaxing with over head and hand held. We didn't use pool area because it was winter and a bit too chilly and rainy but they have set up a table and chairs poolside along with a BBQ that is for guest use. They have a dog but aside from a few brief barks no interaction. They do their best to keep the dog in areas away from guests. Bron, Howie, and Talita are always cheerful and available for help or advice regarding tours, dining, sights etc. We weren't planning on this type of accomodation. Happened by accident but in the end a happy accident. And with the money we saved, we had enough left over in our travel budget to take a tour of the reef. Not sure why but Booking put what I didn't like first. There isn't much I didn't like. Just trying to be clear about location. The nice part about the location is there are many pristine beaches nearby. And it is away from the noise and lights of the city. But we found ourselves driving to Cairns in early AM several times as tour companies would only pick up in city. We wondered if we should have stayed in the city. Then we talked to a couple on a tour who stayed Cairns. They wished they had booked a place away from the city.... hmmm This homestay is in a good location for beaches, Daintree and other hikes. Just be prepared it is half hour from Cairns. But that might be what you want. In the end, we were glad we stayed here
- Ritamay (2/5): Very disappointing for my three friends. - Location The two dogs didn’t only bark at arrivals. They growled aggressively at my guests every time they left their bedrooms to enter the living space. They occupied some of the seating and growled at my friends. My male friend would not let the scratching and whining dog out of the room it was closed in, so my female friend had to do it. I accept your milk explanation Howie but you have not addressed the growing dogs. Any dog, when growling at someone, gives the impression of aggression even if you say it’s not. My Great-aunt had to retreat to her bedroom. My friends DID take her to the venue - you are incorrect. Maybe she was phoning to confirm the arrangements. She didn’t have a phone on her. You must address the issue of the dogs as they behave as the Alpha presence. A child or adult who has a phobia or fear of dogs needs to be protected. You must mention these dogs as part of your home stay.
Three adults, all familiar with farm and pet dogs in a range of contexts, found the presence and growling of your dogs when they entered the living area, to be uncomfortable and threatening. Please understand, acknowledge and act.
- Boota39 (9/5): Superb - Friendly hosts good knowledge of local area ..
- Ritamay (2/5): Disappointing, over-priced and dogs that growled in a threatening manner. - Proximity to function Dogs showed potential aggression and three people were not comfortable with them particularly the small 89 year old guest. One dog was locked in bedroom and scratched and whined until after midnight and my friend had to let it out. Be aware this is a home stay co-habiting with the owners with two large dogs which growled at my friends every time they saw them. Bronwyn was a great host. They need to be kept away. One of the guests was a male, used to dogs on farms and who owns a dog, and he felt threatened. Your only privacy is in your bedroom. Not even an introductory small milk for tea and coffee and no soap in the bathroom to wash your hands.
- Elaine (8/5): Very friendly family. Gave us lots of info on the area - Made us feel welcome
- Lena (10/5): Exceptional - Very friendly best stay!!!
- Bellinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mazzucchetti (9/5): Superb -
- Donna (3/5): Poor -
- Aijun (9/5): Superb - The shower was amazing! Lovely pool and welcoming hospitality. There is a dog, who for some may be scary, but he's actually not.
- Horwood (10/5): Fantastic home away from home. Everything and more🤗 - As soon as I arrived, I was welcomed by daughter Talitha and immediately I felt like I was a guest of this lovely family❤️
I had a shelf in both the fridge and freezer allocated to me (HUGE BONUS and unexpected) as I had ice bricks and cold foods in an esky but to refrigerate them was a bonus!
My room was icy cold due to the aircon (not a huge fan of aircon but coming in out of the 30c heat it was an awesome touch) I requested the one closest to the pool and was confirmed.
Howie (main person) came out and showed me around the kitchen and offered freshly ground coffee
The pool area was amazing and my room was kitted out with a very comfy bed and various subscription based viewing options if I didn’t have anything else planned I would of stayed in here.
Secure, friendly but autonomous I had a fantastic stay and would highly recommend staying for a day or three My stay was too short🤗
- Barbara (8/5): Kind and welcoming stay at a hosts family’s house - -howie and his family were so kind, open and welcoming, I quickly felt at home
- one of the best parts was the range of tv apps I could use- spent my nights watching numerous movies
- loved the pool and outside area
- comfortable, high quality bed and linen
- no other guests so I had my own bathroom and toilet
- it’s a household with two dogs so you’d definitely have to be fine with them (I loved them)
All in all I felt really comfortable, loved the house in itself and the range of tv apps.
Would definitely come back! - you definitely live WITH the family in THEIR home, I didn’t mind at all but it may not be the right fit for everyone
- it is quite a walk to Trinity Beach, which I didn’t mind, it was also my choice to go there not to Kwarra Beach which is closer
- the family’s getting up quite early (as they’d have to on normal working days) but the walls are pretty thin so I woke up every morning because of that
- a bit pricey, I paid less than the normal rate cause I booked on the same day (paid 199$ for two days instead of 350$) however Howie did tell me that they couldn’t regulate it cause Booking.com is responsible for that
- Margareta (10/5): I had a lovely stay. It served my purpose. - It had everything I needed, it was clean.
- Sue (10/5): our hosts were friendly and obliging. - location
- Terry (9/5): Superb -
- Stefan (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were very friendly and my partner and me had a very good time. I would love to stay there again.
- Demi (10/5): Howie and Bron made us feel so welcome. They gave us so many local recommendations. - I loved everything about the property and Howie and Bron made us feel so welcome.
The pool is a great addition loved everything
