- Alohi (5/5): Uncomfortable - The layout of the apartment was nice - 3 rooms and the living room. Most everything you need in the kitchen nice pool, and easy access to the beach. Upon arrival there a couple hundred flying ants in the front room windows. The staff said it was probably from the rains and we should spray bug killer and clean up on our own since there was no staff after 5 pm. Ok I did that and kids ended up sleeping in there. Night 2 - they return through the night, flying and crawling everywhere including the beds. Kids refused to sleep there. I preformed the same tactic. Kids would not sleep there. Night 3 returning from dinner another huge hatching of ants. I asked for some kind of compensation since we slept in only two bedrooms but they said I hadn’t complained enough during the day. I figured if they saw the amount of dead and live ants on the floor and in the sheets, and knowing the kids couldn’t sleep in the room, they would have been more supportive to financially return something. But no. They just continued to acknowledge the beauty of nature. I find it incredibly unprofessional to tell me it’s the beauty of nature. I live in Costa Rica deeper in the jungle. I know bugs - this is definitely an ant problem and someone should have checked on us after reporting it our first night.
