- Erin (6/5): - Lovely friendly staff. Free water station. Good floor space in rooms for bags and lockers. Nice sofa and mirror in room Didn't live up to the photos. The bathroom was a bit smelly. The bunk bed curtains were weird and hit your head.

- Trisha Veronica (10/5): - Most landmarks within district 1 is around a 20 min. walk. Soap/shampoo provided. Kind staff. Mattress on the harder side and pillows kinda flat.

- Kris (4/5): If you have to, get a private room. - Location is great. Cheap as You get what you pay for. The cute photos have def been cleaned up with AI. It’s an old hostel, gross fabric hanging from the squeaky bunks. Showers always clogged, they tidy they don’t clean. No social zone but quiet.
- Cazzoletti (7/5): -
- Kay (7/5): Great social environment close to everything and quiet. - The social engagement between the weekday staff (Ling especially) was wonderful. The toilet/showers were on a separate floor which made it difficult at times since they were occupied multiple times after going up or down the stairs.
- David (10/5): Great stay with lovely view and comfortable room - The staff made my stay really pleasant. The room was well-equipped, clean, and felt very new. The view was amazing — definitely one of the highlights of the trip
- Elena (7/5): Cozy - The staff was nice. Rooms are big with loads of space. Located close to very lively streets not crazy as Bui Vien. Loads of shops and places to eat full of locals. The bathrooms are not enough and not in every floor.

- Mariashie (7/5): Overall experience - Location, near to almost anything General Cleanliness
Bathroom fixtures are broken
- Laura (10/5): Perfect stay! -
- Peter (8/5): -
- Julien (8/5): - Lovely staff and nice location. The bathroom is not really clean.
- 1 (10/5): Very good - Our group of friends booked the entire dorm and it was perfect. The room was spotless, beds comfortable, and the eco-friendly touches around the homestay made it even better. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We really appreciated how attentive and caring they were. The house itself is filled with plants, giving such a fresh vibe. It felt like our own little home in Saigon.
- Phương Phạm (10/5): - I wanted to be near Bui Vien for the fun, but also have quiet at night – and this place was perfect. Only 5 minutes’ walk to the nightlife, yet the homestay itself was calm and peaceful. The staff were attentive and caring. The eco-friendly vibe with plants around the house made it feel like an oasis in the city
- hậu (10/5): - As a solo traveler, I loved the common area where people could gather. We ended up cooking and sharing meals together, thanks to the cozy atmosphere. The host and team were wonderful, very thoughtful and always ready to help. The place is full of plants, clean, and really feels like a home away from home
- Bean (10/5): Good price. - Stayed in the dorm for 2 nights (one for home 1 and one for home : – super clean, private curtains, and such a peaceful alley. Only 5 mins to Bui Vien but no noise at night. Perfect mix of central and calm. None
Hệ thống bảo vệ – thang máy dùng thẻ từ, khá an tâm. Tiện ích trong tòa nhà đầy đủ: có gym, hồ bơi, chỗ gửi xe sạch sẽ. Nhân viên lễ tân thân thiện. Phí quản lý hơi cao chút, nhưng bù lại dịch vụ tốt.
- Pham (10/5): Tuyệt vời - Home rất chill , thoáng mát .
- Thủy (10/5): What I loved most about Coucou I was the sense of calm it gave me. After a long day walking around Saigon, coming back t -
- Bean (10/5): Nice - Cozy and private – one of the best dorm stays!
I stayed in the dorm at Coucou Homestead I for 2 nights and really enjoyed it.
Each bed has its own curtain, reading light, power socket, and locker, so it still feels private even in a shared space.
The house is clean, peaceful, and tucked in a quiet alley, but just a short walk to Bui Vien Street.
They even offer simple breakfast with homemade jam – such a sweet touch!
It’s not just a budget stay – it’s a place that feels like home.
Highly recommended!
- Biancandrea (1/5): AVOID !!! - Only the position Upon arrival receptionist let me wait more than 15 knowing in advance my arrival time
In the meantime a very big rat passed where there was supposed to be the “breakfast station”
Once I got the room I realised was really dirty and ask to have it clean the day after cause there was no cleaning service at that Time ( clear signs of rat poo and leftover from who was in the room before even the toilet was never cleaned before my arrival )
I had included breakfast which included in boiled egg , sliced bread in a pack already open, a pot with very old butter ( and thinking about the rat surely was hanging around ) dirty cups and kettle .
The morning after they showed me the breakfast station which I realised 100% was extremely filthy and unthinkable to eat anything from !!
I asked refund and they gave me roughly 5$ refund for the breakfasts for 3 mornings
No receptionist except for one speak English
The day after I went for an excursion they misunderstood and thought I was checking out ( willing to refund me for 2 nights in cash which I paid asking me to don’t go through Booking.com for complaints) they also assured me they deep cleaned the room
Once I got back late the afternoon I found again the toilet dirty ( urine stains, pubic hairs and hairs around ) and room on the same situation they changed only the bed linen
I got really upset and the “housekeep manager “ and the receptionist came to the room and they “cleaned “
Total lack of care for the guest , after these episodes no greetings at all
You cannot pay in card and the shuttle mentioned in the description is not available due to the high price of fuel !!
Staff really incompetent, noise from other guests during the night at every hour ( slamming doors, chit chat ) and it’s a shame cause the hotel is situated in a quiet Halley
After my continuous complainings and the threat of going though Booking.com ( which I will do anyway ) the morning of my departure somehow and magically there was deep cleaning undergoing !
- Nguyễn (10/5): Rất tuyệt - Came back for a second stay — and it was just as lovely as the first!
The house is cozy, clean, and beautifully kept. But what truly makes it special is the host — incredibly kind, thoughtful, and always welcoming. Can’t wait to come back again! 💛🏡 No thing
- Kristina (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stefanie (2/5): Don't go there if you want to feel welcome or comfortable - The location of the house is good, but not enough reason to stay there. The pictures on booking are nice, but not what you get. The accommodation was dirty and mouldy. The floor and all surfaces in the room were dirty, even in the bathroom everything was full of toothpaste spitters, cigarette butts in the plant pot, the bed was broken in some places and the sheets had burn holes. There were ants everywhere in the room, on all surfaces, on the clothes rack, bathroom and in the bed. It was not possible to put your bag in a clean place without ants or dirt.
And on top of all that, the young employee was an absolute cheek, disrespectful and a disgrace. No greeting, just on his mobile phone. When we asked for breakfast on the first morning, he first ignored us, then rolled his eyes and then rummaged somewhere for instant coffee and instant noodles and lay down on the sofa again. When we asked for cups and plates, he pointed to the cupboard behind reception, where we were supposed to get the crockery ourselves. On day two he completely ignored us and on day 3 & 4 there was no more coffee that we paid for. Even when we asked for it, they didn't buy any more.
The worst thing was that they wanted us to pay immediately after our arrival. Without having seen the room. I paid without thinking, which was a mistake. Otherwise we would have looked for other accommodation.
It is absolutely cheeky to offer this as breakfast. This should not be possible on booking.
- Marta (1/5): I wouldn’t recommend - Location area The pictures don’t relate to the current state of the building/rooms.
The rooms weren’t clean, neither was the facilities. You can tell that it’s not well maintained when you see dental floss sticks around in the floor. I don’t mention about the cockroaches as I can understand sometimes is difficult to manage them.
The receptionist team wasn’t friendly or professional- I’d say more than sarcastic throughout the check-in/ check out.
- Đỗ (9/5): Superb -
- Ross (7/5): Good - Great location. Clean. It was Chinese New Year, so the owner wasn't at premises. He assumed I had Internet access to get his instructions- but I didn't have Internet! I ended up waiting for an hour before getting online and receiving instructions. Everything else went really well.
- Pedro (3/5): never return there - localization was ok reception personel was lazy and i needed to prepare paid breakfast by myslef. they gave me 2-3 small eggs and tost bread and instant coffee… much below expectations and price twice more than other hostels.
I would expect much if the price is 60k …
- Guevara (2/5): I wouldn’t recommend it. - The location is ok. It’s really dirty and the staff isn’t nice nor helpful.
- Suresh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sophia (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ri (9/5): Superb -
- Laetitia (5/5): Passable - Location was convenient and in walking distance from major sightseeing points in Ho Chi Minh. Staff wasn’t the nicest and the breakfast was really cheap and not as advertised. Overall quite cheap and not very clean interior, with only two bathrooms for all to share (wasn’t a problem for me though). Also quite pricey for a dorm bed. Had ants in my bed…
- Marco (10/5): Exceptional -
- Danielle (9/5): Lovely cheap spot - Lovely small breaky, clean comfortable beds, nice staff with good communication Bunks were a little movey on the top. Never an issue for me but the amount of bathrooms might be annoying
- Hennadii (1/5): The worst experience of hostel I had in Vietnam. - Everything is broken, old and dirty.
The bed has old mattress that feels like you’re lying down concrete, pain all body.
Bedsheets are old and not fresh, also towels same.
Pillow is too small, dirty and expired too.
Doors are broken and close so loud so you wake up every time someone in or out the room.
Staff is careless about everything.
The breakfast is nothing as mentioned.
There was the menu that contains fruits - but no fruits were found.
Just bread and egg - that you need to cook by yourself.
Also at 8:30 eggs were finished.
And staff recommended me to eat bread.
Awful to treat guests like that.
He doesn’t even move to the nearby shop to buy some food for breakfast I payed for.
I had to do it by myself and pay for that too.
Dishes and kitchen at all were as dirty as it ever possible to imagine.
But staff doesn’t care - just sitting and scrolling social.
Do not recommend this place to anyone.
You will regret staying there.
- Cintia (3/5): You get what you pay - Nothing. Location Mattress hard as a brick, room not clean and with a mattress on the floor and someone was sleeping there, toilet not clean and needs refurbished, the breakfast was just a piece of bread, they have a cartel with what it’s included but none of those things were offered as per the picture also, full of ants walking around
- Raseru (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ramon (9/5): Superb - It's clean. The neighborhood is quiet. The interior design was impeccable, it feels like home! The owner is responsive and helpful. I am not sure about the shower heating, if there is any or it wasn't working properly.
- Ngoc (9/5): CouCou is a friendly home in a very central location. - The staff is very friendly. The common area is very inviting and I got to meet lots of other lovely guests. CouCou let me park my motorbike there even beyond the time that I stayed at the hostel while I was out of town for a few days. Although I was assigned a separate shelf in the shared dorm room, I was not able to lock it.
- Valentina (10/5): Nice decorated hostal - Clean, warm water, good location, good price Very noisy guests the breakfast time is very short
- Spoorthy (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean, very cheap, best stay
- Evin (6/5): Pleasant - Basic and comfortable The bathroom wasnt Always Clean.
- Pawel (8/5): Very good -
- Kaya (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maria (7/5): Good -
- Kathleen (5/5): Passable -
- Traveller219 (5/5): Coconut - I did like the entrance and the free breakfast in the morning. Also the lockers were OK. There was a balcony too. I got a confirmation of the booking right away. The day after when I arrived to Saigon, I read a message telling me my booking was cancelled due to overbooking. Never the less I went to the hostel asking for an explanation. They knew it was their mistake and they apologized for the inconvenient. Asking me at the same time to cancel my reservation. No way I'd do this, so they accommodated me with an extra bed in the room. Just for 2 nights. Fortunately I've found on time a very good and clean hostel and I'm glad I had to move. Thank you 🙏
- Abigail (9/5): Superb - I liked the fact that the place is close to amenities & attractions. We also liked how hospitable & accommodating the staff is. Overall we liked our experience :) I think our request for room service could've been addressed. But other than that, we have nothing bad to say about the place. We liked our experience and hopefully we could go back :)
- Ankit (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eloise (7/5): Good -
- Vantran309 (9/5): Cute place - The location is great, staff is very nice The bathroom is not on the same floor with the room so a little bit inconvenient,
- Emma (9/5): Great stay - Very nice quaint hostel. Good value for money. Spacious, light and well decorated rooms. Friendly staff and located I'm an alley away from the hustle of the city. I think the fact that there is only 2 bathrooms brings the rating of this property down on here. As it definitely deserves more than it has. Sometimes it can be a little busy with using the bathrooms, especially in the morning or evening but with a slight adpation all is well. There is nothing they can really do to change this situation anyway.
- Wiśniewska (8/5): Good stay for that money - Location and curtain for bed Uncomfortable pillows really small
- Jeana (7/5): Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Coucou Homestead. The location was great - quiet but close to the action and within walk - Great location down a low traffic alley so not too noisy. Great AC in the room which was well used by us! The staff were also very friendly. The bed was pretty hard but if you like a really firm mattress then you’re in for a treat! Breakfast was fairly non-existent with menu items (bread and jam) unavailable on day 1, and no staff present on day 2 of our trip.
- Barbora (10/5): Exceptional - Clean rooms, beds, washrooms, great location
- Silvija (7/5): Good -
- Daniel (6/5): Pleasant - Nice location and easy check in Hard mattress, breakfast was very basic
- John (10/5): Good vibe and nice place - I think this place is quite special. The vibe is peace and cozy. If you look around you can see many beautiful things. The location is great, and they do not accept pet, i really agree that. This place very interesting for travellers.
- Phillip (3/5): Poor - Beds to hard and very poor shower.
- Cameron (8/5): Very good - It was a nice simple, well kept homestay in the centre of the city. Just need to remember that although the shower is right outside the door it is still shared
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chi (7/5): Great location, great room. - Location couldn't be better. Loved my blue double room with balcony. One bathroom for the floor is not sufficient. The patio is used for moto parking. Staff are awkward and don't acknowledge you, likely bec their English is limited.
- Chiew (5/5): Passable - Good location in the quiet alley Only 1 toilet to share .
- Ana (8/5): Very good - Very lovely place and brilliant value for money. We stayed in a room with private bathroom on top floor of the building when it was 37 degrees outside yet the aircon did it's job and room was always cool. Spacious place, cute decor and nice little touches like toothpaste and hair brushes provided.
The team running the place need a special shout out - they were super friendly and helpful, carried our heavy bags from the room, called us cabs, answered questions, stored bags while we were out after check out.. People are the real jewel of Vietnam ❤️
- Nadia (7/5): Good -
- Nayan (6/5): Pleasant -
- Lucia (7/5): Good - Very nice decoration Very little English and limited information about tourist spots or cafes and bars around.
- Sharon (8/5): Very good - the rooms were clean, comfortable beds very specious rooms the entrance door is locked with a password and is super heavy. was a little hard to open it after they lock it during the night
- Jas (8/5): Great place, great location, amazing staff ❤️ - Great super convenient location, very friendly and caring staff, always available to help, nice place with a very Vietnamese style house right in the deep local neighboord hood If you stay in the dorm, you may end up with either loud people in the late nite, people that turn on AC at the max and so on, so just be aware that additional patience is required ka
- Thibaud (7/5): Good - Gentle staff and nice location Only two bathroom for the whole hostel
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were lovely, Vin the boy was a super sweet guy, prompt at messaging and couldn't do enough for you.
Seemed safe inside and out. One of the high bunk beds didn't have a railing which felt unsafe as you could fall out of the bed and it's very high.
There was 2 showers & 2 toilets for what I estimate was 18-20 beds... Doesn't seem like enough. Although as the hostel was almost empty I didnt have a problem. But I imagine if the hostel was full, this would be a problem.
