• Maija (2/5): We did not enjoy our stay. - After our visit, we were asked to give the apartment 10 points, but we did not think the apartment was worth it and we think the points should be as realistic as possible for the next guests. We have used Booking.com's application until now and we have always been satisfied with the descriptions of the apartments and the presented quality level. Now we weren't. We paid for the apartment in advanced, after which we received an electronic check-in link from the host. It had such additional house roles for accommodation that were not mentioned in Booking.com-app and these rules were only in German language. We can't find them anymore, so in practice we don't know what we agreed to. We must state that we are very practical and clean guests, and we have never received any negative feedback about our stay. We couldn't get in touch with the host right away and we were unsure how to get to the apartment. We waited outside the apartment for an hour and a half in vain. We have never experienced similar ambiguity and stress in any accommodation before. The presented additional house rules made us take photos of the traces in the apartment before we settled into the house. When checking in, we were asked to send photos of our personal documents electronically, even though the house roles only mentioned presenting them when staying (”Guests are required to show a photo identification and credit card upon check-in”). We could not agree to that because the host did not guarantee a secure connection and on the other hand we cannot know how our personal data would be processed. After a long messaging, one person's passport number was enough for the host. At no other accommodation in Germany we did not even have to present identity documents. Of course, it may be that other hosts have not been so precise in checking the information, and this destination was. However, the demand of sending the documents electronically should be mentioned before making the reservation. Other complaints in the accommodation, which in our opinion do not correspond to the description: - the entrance is outside in a place with no lighting, but steep stairs - the parking space is really tight, we have a big family car, and it was challenging to fit the car in it. In addition, the neighbor came to complain about the parking when we moved our car to it. Secure parking was the main reason we chose this apartment. - the apartment has a lot of signs of wear (e.g. the floors were apparently burned with tobacco or something similar). The apartment was otherwise clean. - according to the announcement, both English and German are spoken at the accommodation, the information and additional conditions were online and only in German language, at least we couldn't find any other information, nor did we find any additional information brochures inside the apartment. - there was a musty smell in the stairwell and in the lower cupboard in the kitchen - the courtyard, patio and barbecue area do not correspond to the description (small, cramped, uncomfortable and untidy), the view from the kitchen window to the courtyard was unpleasant.
• Shane (3/5): This is a grossly overpriced property when compared to similarly rated proerties I have stayed at in Copenhagen, Maastri - The rooms were large and spacious except that bathroom that was very cramped and the shower cubicle was tiny. The description of what is listed on Booking.com is a world apart from the reality of the property. The entrance to the property was accessed via cigarette butt littered staircase with a musty smell. The property was not cleaned properly on our arrival. The fireplace was not romantic as it had never been cleaned and still had the remains of a previous fire, some rubber gloves and other rubbish. The description say there is a coffee bar on site - however this turned out to be a Nespresso lookalike machine with 4 capsules. The inner courtyard garden view listed, was through a fly infested kitchen window screen, overlooking the communal rubbish bins and facing a small hedge. There was no outside furniture as listed (this did eventually arrive after a complaint was made but was placed in the garden of the neighbouring resident). There was no patio as listed nor ATM on site as described. The parking listed will only take a sub-compact car as it is tiny and very difficult to access. If you are a business traveler that needs nothing more than a bed and kitchen to heat up a pizza - then this property will work - it was not at all suitable for a multi week stay as I booked.
