Guest Reviews
- Andre (6/5): Adequate - Price and location Bit run down
- William (9/5): -
- Barbara (9/5): Wunderbar - Super gegen, gute Ausstattung
- Anderson (8/5): Very good place for a great price! - We had the Grouse room, and we thought the room was wonderful!!
We did not take advantage of the rest of the house, however because we were there for sleeping arrangements only and had other plans throughout the day . There are a couple of things that I wish were there.
The very first thing both me and my husband agreed on being slightly disappointed about was the fact that there are two windows in the gross room that are severely shaded/dirty, and I think one might even be cracked. Had those windows been like the other others than the view would’ve been completely spectacular!!!!!!
Other than that, the only thing we would suggest is maybe a small bar fridge in the room just so that we could have a couple of cool snacks and cold drinks available to us without having to go downstairs to the main kitchen area .
Other than that… You’ve done a wonderful job on the place .
- Arndt (7/5): - Picturesque and high location but difficult to get to. Coffee making equipment is poor and just for one room. A serious disappointment is the 'dumb' TV which one can't use without further software. Don't call it a TV.
Bathroom: there was very little space to put anything down on a counter or table. One little table is not enough for two people. Room was spacious, nice view but is not a place where you can go for a walk because of the very steep hills. 60 steps have walked down before one can start walking and of course one has to climb up again to get Grouse Cheerful.
- Viktoriia (9/5): - We had a wonderful stay! The accommodation offered a breathtaking view of the downtown and the surrounding mountains, which made mornings and evenings truly special. The location was perfect, with easy access to public transportation and nearby amenities. The space was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen had everything I needed, making it very convenient to prepare meals. Everything was well-organized, clear, and simple to use, which made my stay comfortable and stress-free. I would definitely recommend this place and hope to return!
- Christian (10/5): Fantastic views and pool - Great property for the value, large private space, and excellent shared spaced Nothing
- Maxim (10/5): -
- David (7/5): Good - The bed is awful
- Boodhoo (10/5): Exceptional - Clean big room with private bathroom. Quiet restful sleep. Large kitchen with dedicated dishes and cutlery for each guest. Well thought out and great hosts. Everything was good. There was a power outage on the first day but that was mother nature doing its thing. The host were very helpful and accomodating. They brought candles and extra blankets and made sure I was comfortable.
- Heinrich (8/5): Very good - Easy access to the key box and then to the room.
Clean and functional.
Kitchen/living room is shared with other guests.
- Derek (9/5): Impressive house with large decks and terraces around the pool and hot tub. - Impressive, well organised house. Easy to settle in and figure out how everything worked with shared accommodation. It is shared accommodation, with 4 other occupants, and some food disappeared from the fridge. Room heated up during the day like a sauna !
- Cheryl (4/5): We liked our room, however didn’t have tv for the first night as we didn’t know how to set it up. A nice fellow showed u - I loved the location , beautiful views I booked this property for the hot tub and was not informed that it was out of order . We were very disappointed! I wouldn’t have booked if we knew this info.
- Francis (9/5): Superb -
- Tim (10/5): I would return, and I certainly would recommend this to others! - Was there a breakfast? If so, I guess I missed it. The location was wonderful! I didn’t like that I had to leave so soon!
- Paras (9/5): Superb -
- Olena (10/5): Exceptional - Clean swimming pool and hot tub and bed sheets All was good
- Scott (8/5): Very good -
- Jinru (10/5): Exceptional -
- Louris (10/5): Exceptional - The location is very relaxing, the room was very spacious and beautiful view.
I had booked one bed by mistake and needed an extra bed, so I contacted the staff through the app they responded quickly and accommodated my request even though it was last minute. Any other questions, I asked, I was answered accordingly,
I am very pleased with the experience. The place will definitely be my spot next trip to Vancouver.
- Mi_fa_la (1/5): There are better options - keep searching. - Pros:
* Private room
* Pretty view
* Prompt response from the manager(s) of the place (they're not at the house though) Cons:
* Poor room temperature control.
* Inconsistent heat.
* Very poor insulation.
Thermostat works but the Grouse room's heater (which is under the huge window) takes forever to warm the room while all other parts of the house are boiling.
* The oven and stove smell (when cooking) will travel into the room and linger for a long time because the room is right above the kitchen. Very poor ventilation.
* Lacks housekeeping. Full of dust and staleness upon arrival.
- Skiffington (8/5): Very good -
- Letty (8/5): Very good - Needs curtain on door facing street. Bathroom needs another towel rack and a small table with shelves to put toiletries/cosmetics etc. Take off gross medicine cabinet and put nice mirror instead. Bed super comfy! Appreciated rapid responses to concerns from owner. Lovely house, everything provided- not able to appreciate use of backyard due to weather - boo See above- did not like that bathroom was outside of bedroom but not a huge deal
- Jade (10/5): Perfect house for a calm, lovely break away - Gorgeous building in a lovely area. The view out of our room was sublime, especially at night, stargazing is great here. The common areas are great nice and clean. Nothing. Everything perfect, beware of the hills in the surrounding area.
- Simar (9/5): Superb -
- Kayleigh (10/5): Great trip - Grouse room was large and spacious. Hot tub and pool were lovely. Beautiful views. Bit hot without air con
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional -
- Reginald (10/5): The perfect stay - The Grouse Cheerful bedroom was the perfect place to stay in Vancouver. The house was gorgeous and the large bedroom was very comfortable. I thought that this was going to be a shared common room but you have your own living room. We woke up to beautiful views including a view of our cruise ship on Sunday morning. Close to great restaurants, ships, stores, live music, Grouse mountain. All with 2 mile car ride. This was truly a hidden gem. There was nothing we didn't like but the room did get hot with the afternoon sun and you might need a rental car or bicycle to get around.
- Johnson (8/5): Beautiful home overlooking Vancouver - Grouse is a large upstairs room with a comfortable bed and a seating area, and a nice view overlooking Vancouver. The bedroom and bathroom were very clean and had what we needed. Each guest room in the house had its own fridge and freezer space to keep food, and its own cupboard with dishes. There were lots of seating options both inside the house and on the patio. There was a nice-sized pool (cold) and a hot tub, and great laundry facilities near the pool. Communication with the host was excellent, and there is self check-in (we appreciated being able to arrive late). We enjoyed visiting with other guests who were there, and also felt we had whatever privacy we wanted. Grouse has a lot of windows behind a long curtain, and the room got very hot while we were gone during the day. We were fortunate to be there during cooler weather, so we could open two doors and use the fan in the room to cool the room down, but I don't think that would work if the temperature was higher. The bathroom (reserved for the Grouse bedroom only) is adjacent to the bedroom, but you do have to take 3 or so steps in the hallway to get there. Also, we couldn't figure out how to use the large TV in our room (instructions would be helpful).
