- Quokka (9/5): Good budget stay - 1. Friendly staff at reception who can speak English 2. The room had everything i needed including a mini fridge 3. Free water and soft drinks in the room every day 4. My private room was a nice size and clean and tidy 5. Nice common area where you can sit - plenty of power outlets where you could plug your laptop etc. Most people seem to be on their devices and didn't really talk to each other, which was fine with me as it meant the hostel was nice and quiet. 6. Within walking distance of Shanghai rail station, which was useful for me when i wanted to catch a train to Beijing. Also close to the metro. 1. The free breakfast included with my booking wasn't particularly impressive (2 bits of toast, egg and sausage) but can't really complain when it's free. I chose to skip it on the other 2 days of my stay given i had to leave early but didn't feel like i missed out on much.

The hostel is maintained in a very clean con - I stayed in a single room and was pleasantly surprised by its cleanliness and quality. Unfortunately, the room was very noisy. You can hear the elevator every time it is used, as well as people walking and talking on the floor. In the morning, the cleaning noise (doors opening and closing) is also quite noticeable. It would be great if the hostel could improve the sound insulation. In addition, the staff (especially the ladies) could be more professional and welcoming.

Es gab jeden Tag frische Handtücher, Haartrockner war vorhanden, auch unterschiedliche Steckdosen (zusätzlich zu den unterschiedlichen Typen auch USB Lademöglichkeiten). Es hat mir gut gefallen. Das Einzige was man evtl bemängeln könnte, ist dass es etwas hellhörig ist und das Frühstück recht übersichtlich. Ansonsten gerne wieder.

- Joseph (10/5): Great place to stay in Shanghai! - Great hostel. Great staff. Great value for money. The bunk beds had curtains. The dorm rooms had very good air conditioning. The girls at front reception were efficient and courteous. They both spoke English clearly and communicated well. The group relaxation areas were large enough with plenty of comfortable coffee table and dining table seating. The entire hostel is very well designed. Also, there is a team of cleaners working throughout the days and nights to keep everything spotless. This is definitely one of the best organised and cleanest hostels I've ever stayed in. Also... I like how they provided the clean packaged sheets and covers as well as nice slippers when checking in. The hostel is also in an area with plenty of access to small local restaurants. nothing

- Rodriguez (6/5): Great if you want quiet and very clean but terrible to meet people. - Such a clean hostel. I had my own room, and it felt truly like an upscale hotel inside. The common area is nice and big to sit and study or do work etc. Might even meet people. They have completely free to use washing machines on the top floor, which was very nice and a very small gym and mini bar. You also were able to buy water and juices and teas, etc, that they sold separately. I dont know if this is a cultural thing, the new generation of backpackers thing or just specifically this hostel but I stayed for a long time (5 days) and I was so upset that I each time I would come down to the common area it would sometimes be absolutely packed but with people just on their phones and laptops... not one person talking to each other. I only met a couple of really cool people my first 2 nights, but after, I didn't see anyone, just locals. If you are here for a backpacker experience to meet people, this is definitely not it. I was here in Shanghai for work but stayed in a hotel specifically to meet people as well, but I would go downstairs, look around, and just get annoyed that it was the same thing each time. People just stuck on their devices. So I would just go on a walk by myself or go right back upstairs. I don't know how you fix that problem, but it was very disappointing and practically ruined a big part of the meeting people experience you look forward to in a hostel. But honestly, besides that, the hostel was great and really clean.

Комфортная температура внутри, кофеёк, завтрак, кипяток (бесплатно) и вежливый персонал. Со мной работал чувак по имени Xue Zhang (надеюсь правильно, если что, то не обижайся брат) и его блистательная команда. Всё объяснили, показали, разъяснили. При заселении был косяк с бронированием, но администратор быстро всё уладил. Разрешено оставлять сумки на хранение до заселения и после выезда - бесплатно. Чистая постель без желтых пятен , запакованный пакет со свежим бельем, тапками, полотенцем, зубной щеткой. В моей комнате были 4 кровати. Кровати со шторками. В капсуле много крючков для одежды полочка, розетка, подсветка. Розетка китайская, но подходит и европейская. Есть usb порт. Комнаты и шкафчики в нем с доступом по карте, которую выдают при заселении. Расположение хостела нормальное. Повсюду вокруг остановки автобусов, метро, арендные велосипеды, закусочные (где недорого и вкусно можно поесть), магазинчики. В ванной чисто, (не стерильно) есть мыло, шампунь и фен. Хорошие унитазы и бумага всегда в наличии. Уборка проходит часто. В целом за эти деньги - шикарно. Рекомендую🤗🤗🤗 Ванная маловата для такого количества людей.

- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - May was so friendly and acomodating. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It was very comfortable and there was lots of other travelers there. The location was a little out of the way from the major tourist sights, but still very close to the railway station so accessible. What I mean by that is that I didn't feel like I was staying "in the boutique part of Shanghai," but instead in more of a blue collar, college part of town. But is was a great bargain for a comfortable stay, so in my mind that was the trade off. I say this as a foreigner who isn't so used to China infrastructure. There was a great mall close by and in 25 minutes you were in downtown Shanghai.
- Legotrip (9/5): Superb - A proper hostel that loves being a hostel! They give you loads of freebies to ensure your comfort. The beds were sturdy and private. There were ample bathrooms, and the showers were incredible, very hot and secluded. The laundry was free! I have never seen that before. The overall vibe was sociable and fun. Lots of beer options! The rooms were great, but once you put everyone's big bags in there, the floorspace is completely covered. The breakfast was pretty good but unsubstantial, at least for my stomach.

I stayed in a dorm (3rd floor) and there was absolutely nothing to complain about. Quite environment. The AC in the room saved my life while the outside temperature was a bit above 40 degrees Celsius. You will get toiletries and even some slippers 😂 and a free drink on top. What a service! Nothing
