Guest Reviews
- Beverley (8/5): We had a comfortable enjoyable stay in this lovely apartment - Good position. Clean.
- TanyaGill (10/5): Great Unit in fantastic location - The unit was spacious, and well equipped with two balconies. The property is in a perfect location close to restaurants & cafes but still very quiet. We loved it. No complaints.
Please be aware that unit 301/1 is on the 3rd level with no lift. This wasn't an issue for us as we were aware prior to booking.
For those with mobility issues this could be something to consider.
- Lisa (10/5): -
- Chris (8/5): Perfect for switching off - a great spot for a laid‑back, beachy weekend with an excellent location -
- Leslie (8/5): -
- Dirk (10/5): -
- Danielle (10/5): The location was perfect and the apartment was clean and spacious.we loved it. - The View from the balcony is amazing and the size of the apartment was a lot bigger than expected.
- Leah (9/5): Awesome stay at Alassio Apartments! We would definitely stay there again! - The apartment was well equipped and very comfortable. The pool area was great, clean and welcoming. Excellent location right amongst the cafes and shops, however, it was still very quiet and relaxing as well. The window coverings / blinds are falling down and need replacing.
- Tess (9/5): Great for a long weekend - Great location, nice pool
- Jennifer (10/5): The best was to relax & unwind - Perfect location, comfortable surrounds. The bed was very soft and caused back aches
- TANIA (5/5): Great location and very roomy. It is a pity that the room was very old and not renovated - location was excellent.
Pool was beautiful
Good value
Rooms large lots of space Rooms have not been updated in a very long time
Nothing seemed really clean and fresh
Kitchen doors not hinged properly and my husband had to fix a handle
Kitchen "oven" is not an oven a little grill separate appliance that did not work properly. We were lucky friends had an airfryer we could use.
The crockery was not clean. Greasy platters and dish and we rewashed the plates
The kitchen needs a dishwasher
Bedroom blinds - one vertical blind piece missing letting light in and the rest looked old and dirty
- Jacky (10/5): Lovely apartment very spacious - Very clean and spacious No lift had to carry suitcases
- Julie (9/5): -
- Orkun (7/5): - Location, interior designs and facilities Customer swrvice was not good at all. Staff were rude. We arrived there on a public holiday, and found out that aircon was not working in our apartment. It was early Jan, scorching hot and humid. After seceral attempts to conract the staff they shifted us to the next door apartment on the third day.
Upon expressing dissatisfaction the manager said, youbguys can leave and find another apartment if you like. But it was holiday season and everywhere was booked out. Which is why we had our place booked a.month earlier.
First 2 days and nights were really rough without aircon as you can imagine north qld weather is hot and humid. Kids suffered the most.
- Mark (7/5): A comfortable apartment in a great location. Just needs a good clean and a freshen up. - The location is the main feature of this property - on the waterfront and with ocean views. Also conveniently located to all local amenities. The whole complex is looking and feeling rather tired; needs a refresh. More particularly, the whole complex, but the apartment itself, needs a good clean. The apartment was generally clean in that surfaces had been wiped down etc, but the windows were very grimy and the balconies needed a good sweep. A deeper clean of the apartment itself is needed. The common areas also needed a good clean and refresh; even a general sweep of the floors and stairs and a clean of other surfaces (eg handrails) would make any stay at this place so much better. The underground carpark gets extremely hot (probably largely in part due to the air-conditioning units being located there), but it does make access to and from your car very unpleasant. Were also aspects where some routine maintenance is required - eg. there were a number of blown light bulbs.
- Christine (8/5): -
- Rocco (9/5): lovely - location was nice stairs , getting from garage to apartment
- Kerryn (9/5): Good value for money in a great location - Great beach views from balcony, close to cafes and restaurants and a very clean apartment. Would have preferred a separate shower rather than shower over spa bath. Slightly inconvenient to collect keys at a separate location
- Nathan (10/5): Excellent place to stay if you travel with little kids. Everything was great! - We travelled with little kids and the pool area was great for our kids, rooms were big and spacious, had everything you need. Also Nice big balcony, really don’t have much negative to say about this place. Our aircon broke and staff came and fixed it straight away. If we went back here I would rebook the same place. Only annoying thing was our room 207 was next to a light in the corridor that was on most of the night and shined into our bedroom, maybe a better block out blind would be great, but in saying that I am also very sensitive to lights when I sleep.
- Robert (6/5): Happy with the unit - Location. The pool is basically a kids pool with one end a bit deeper
- Jennifer (8/5): -
- Janice (7/5): Lovely family holiday in a great location. - We had a group of 8 adults and had 2 rooms one 3 bedroom unit (208) and a 2 bedroom unit (207). There were five bedrooms all with their own bathroom and both units had a large outdoor area for a big group, 3 bed apartment was large and plenty of privacy for each couple. Room 207 was nicely renovated and had lots of extras including a welcome bottle of champagne a dishwasher and washing machine. The 3 bed apartment on the other hand had a great layout but was very dated, I’m thinking 1980’s interior. Thankfully the outdoor space, pool, bbq and location made up for the interior decoration. It was clean and was a good set up for a large group. The 3 bedroom unit apartment (208) was very dated and probably original decor including vertical blinds. FYI It could do with a new cheese grater and can opener and some small plates. Nowhere to hang hand towel in toilet. Lighting was very dull.
- Wendy (10/5): -
- Julia (8/5): Great beachside location is a fantastic area - The location is perfect. Close to the beach and safe swimming. Many food and coffee choices nearby. Regular bus services to Cairns. I had a good view from the room. The room itself is looking a little dated. The balcony was very small. Unfortunately the bed was not very comfortable. No microwave in the room.
- Tejana (8/5): - Location was amazing and so was the rooms. A little annoying having reception down the road away from the hotel was a bit tricky to find other wise highly rate the stay
- John (8/5): -
- Michael (10/5): -
- Pernilla (5/5): - Läget var fantastiskt samt det ena rummet som hade utsikt mot havet. Lägenheten var mörk och hade riktig dålig belysning. Rätt slutet och unken doft i större delen av lägenheten.
- Simon (9/5): Excellent location nice view overlooking water and nice small pool for relaxation. - Location and value for money Bath/shower old needs revamp. If an old person staying they would not be able to clean themselves as would have to climb into Bath.
- Marine (10/5): Fantastic family stay - Pool
Laundry facilities
Spacious living room and bedrooms
Kids friendly Not much shade at the pool
No lifts
- Anthony (8/5): Great location but facilities fell short compared to other properties that we have stayed at in palm cove - Beachfront property Small kitchen with a small fridge was difficult as there were 6 of us in the 3 bedrooms- no oven or dishwasher.
- Georgina (8/5): -
- Troy (10/5): 3 nights in Palm Cove - We had an amazing stay. The location was perfect. Our 2 bedroom apartment was well stocked and it was a great sized apartment. Kids loved the pool. The free laundry was also very convenient. Older style unit block so there are no lifts. We were on the 3rd floor but it was ok getting our luggage up the stairs.
- Shaheda (9/5): -
- Tiberi (10/5): -
- Jodie (9/5): - Beachfront, quiet rooms, secure parking Pool view was a little obscured in this room (303)
- Rhonnie (9/5): We very much enjoyed our stay at Alassio apart from the elevator issue. - The location couldn't have been better. Our unit looked out to the sea. There was only a road between the property and the beach. The unit was spacious and well equipped. There was a large deck on the beachfront with a family-sized dining table. The bathroom and bedroom were very roomy. The property was clean and everything was in good working order. There was no elevator! Our unit was on the 3rd floor so from the basement car park that represented a lot of stairs. It was very hot (34C), we are elderly and we would have had to make multiple trips to carry everything to the unit (It was Christmas so we had extra food, bottles of soft/alcoholic beverages and Christmas presents as well as our belongings.) Thankfully, one of the housekeeping staff kindly assisted us to carry everything to the 3rd floor. At the end of our stay, we were able to move the car to street level so as to eliminate one flight of stairs.
We also found it difficult to get into and out of the pool and spa as elderly guests with balance issues.
- Dionne (9/5): -
- Andrea (10/5): -
- Michelle (8/5): - It’s quiet The tv was old and couldn’t use Netflix
- SH (9/5): Overall we enjoyed our stay. - The location and view from the balcony were the highlights of this apartment. One of the bathrooms was quite dated. The outdoor cushions were marked and got wet when it rained. An oven in the kitchen would have been well used and the only fry pan I used had an uneven surface which made it hard to cook things evenly.
- Kristina (10/5): Perfect will be back - Literally everything
The apartment is enormous absolutely beautiful comfortable incredible views & so close to the water so sound of waves constantly exceptional Only difficulty was stairs
- Zachery (9/5): -
- Tracey (9/5): We had a lovely family vacation at Alassio Apartments in Palm Cove. - The property was beachfront and very close to many dining and entertainment facilities. Extremely easy access to the communal swimming pool Only that the alfresco fab and light weren’t working. (I think it was the battery in the remote control)
- Anne (10/5): Highly recommend if roudy teenagers not in attendance - Excellent location🤩 There were some young kids (under 15) who were VERY loud around the pool so sadly we a avoided it when they were there
- spiros (10/5): Cairns at it's best - Great location, lovely large pool.staff
- chloe (6/5): -
- Teresa (8/5): -
- Steve (1/5): The worst ever - It was poor There is not enough room
- Zappala (9/5): -
- Lyndal (10/5): Great views and very comfortable. - Well situated, spacious and with good amenities. The letting agent was very accommodating and easy to deal with.
- Bruno (9/5): Great place, very clean and best location - Great location, handy to beach and restaurants Everything you needed was there to be used
- Del Grosso (9/5): - Central location
Spacious bedroom, bathroom and living
Great pool for kids
- Tim (9/5): The apartment was in a fantastic location, clean and tidy and a great size for a family. -
- Rebecca (8/5): Great place, but when collecting the keys maybe say the name of the shop you pick them up from not just the number. Not - Close to the beach Pool could use an update
- Sandra (7/5): Nice for a short stay but some improvements needed - Excellent location, quiet despite there being a pub next door.
Comfortable bed.
Nice bathroom Outdoor furniture needs replacing due to rust and weathering (one chair was actually dangerous).
Very few hooks for towels. No hook for hand towel in toilet room.
No basin plugs made washing crockery difficult
- Nicky (8/5): - Proximity to restaurants Nothing really
- Margaret (7/5): - Being in the heart of Palm Cove Small room
- Lou (9/5): -
- Rosemary (8/5): -
- Natalie (8/5): Relaxing great location and great value for money - Great location and loved the room access to the pool It might have been nice to have a couch in the room
- Dee (8/5): Relaxing - No breakfast The position
- Tas (9/5): - Location and sea view
- Anne (7/5): Great spot very comfortable beware of stairs if you struggle with stairs - Very comfortable, a good spot for access to everything. No lift was a big issue for me but I did know there was no lift when I booked. I have bad bursitis in hip & I did struggle. The bathroom in apartment 306 really needs a bathroom renovation especially the shower, very old.
- Tracey (10/5): Loved Alassio - Loved the apartment set up, furnishings & decor; cleanliness; loved, loved, loved the day bed on the deck my favourite spot overlooking the water and the pool!!! Kitchen was great, and BBQ facilities terrific, even listened to a saxophone player at ODonnels out front whilst cooking my steak by the pool,,,so cool!!!
- Livio (9/5): Great location, great valfor money.. - On the main strip opposite the beach. Comfy beds. Good facilities. Next door to O'Donnell's Irish bar and bistro.. No dishwasher in 204...
- David (9/5): Great value and location - Great location, good value
- Svetlana (10/5): It was amazing! - I loved everything! Nothing!
- Marisol Valeska (10/5): -
- Maria Francisca (10/5): Better than the pictures - The place is way better than what I looks like
You should be investing in updated pictures as the rooms are sooo nice I had family in other rooms and the beach and Bali style deco was amazing in most of them They don’t have reception just to let you know . For me was fine but some people might be missing that . The communication was excellent in the app anyway
- tony (8/5): -
- Alison (6/5): Can't fault the apartment itself and the location was perfect for a short stay. - The apartment was stunning. Excellent size and well equipped. The location was perfect to access all that Palm Cove has to offer. The sea view was picture perfect. 3 flights of stairs and no lift - we were not aware of before to carry suitcases up was hard work. The Spa tub was freezing (the pool was cold too but to be expected)
- McDermott (8/5): Greta stay, nice roomy accomodation! The bed was comfy although had a dip in the middle. -
- Maree (9/5): Spacious apartment - Comfortable spacious room. Close to beach and restaurants. Great pool. No lift, challenge to get bags to 3rd floor
- Alan (9/5): Large apartment in a lovely location. Who doesn't love Palm Cove? - Large apartment, great location, perfect for family with kids. No lifts to get from the carpark or to the upper floors. That meant lugging bags up and down the stairs. Other than that it was an excellent place to stay.
- Dianne (8/5): Very pleasant stay. Would certainly come again. - Big bed, and shower, proximity to beach. Missing towel rail in toilet. beach chairs in poor condition
- Nevena (9/5): Great stay at Alassio 306 - Apartment is nice and very clean with great location across from the beach and close to cafes and restaurants. Air con is in a bad location above the wardrobe, blowing directly into the bed head no matter how you adjust it.
- Wendy (9/5): A great location, well appointed villa, beach across the road. Pool, bars and restaurants so close - Beautiful location, so close to the beach. Tranquil and calming complex nil
- Louise (9/5): -
- Laureen (8/5): Location great, nice sized apartment for 2. - Location was excellent, apartment spacious and well presented. No oven - could be overcome with an air fryer!
- Ian (9/5): -
- Jason (10/5): - Great facilities and location Not enough lounge chairs for pool area
- Leanne (9/5): -
- gabrielle (5/5): Palm Beach is beautiful. This is a handy spot and across the road from the beach. I would stay there again but opt for a - Spacious Photo of pool is taken from end of resort so misrepresents location of unit. The interior is dated. There is no lift and the pool is mostly shallow. The blinds in the unit are broken, the toilet in the studio where my daughter was constantly made a flushing noise. One cupboard does not close properly.
- Brad (9/5): - On-site management would’ve been more convenient.
- Anne (9/5): Well located spacious apartment - Very well located spacious apartment. We stayed for three days and loved it. There is a really nice pool and our apartment overlooked it. I would recommend Alassio.
- Linda (6/5): Great location. Didnt look at the small details. Drinking water facilities did not exist. - Location was excellent. Pool was great. Liked the laundry facilities. Couldn’t cook in apartment. No drinking water facilities. Towels and bedding never got changed. Floors were dirty on arrival. Balcony was dirty. Seats on balcony were in a poor state of repair.
- Kayla (10/5): BEST APARTMENT EVER! - The apartment was amazing; the style was spot on with the beach vibe and was so clean and felt so comfortable and looked just like the photos! The owners were so friendly to deal with and messaged me back ASAP if I had any questions! The apartment had everything we wanted and honestly didn't want to leave! The spa bath was fantastic, and we definitely enjoyed that while there, and the views were fantastic from every angle. Definitely would be booking the same apartment if we could on our next visit! You won't be disappointed; this was my favourite apartment I've ever stayed in. A bonus which I had no idea about was the second bedroom had its own coffee station and bar fridge, which would be perfect if you were staying with friends, as they had their own private apartment it would feel like. Every room had a fan and air-conditioning which being from Melbourne was great as we don't deal with heat as much down here.
Overall you shouldn't be disappointed at all staying here. The only thing we didn't enjoy was the car parking. Unfortunately, we had someone next to us who would park on or over the line, and it was very difficult getting in and out of our space with a big rental car. But with that said, I messaged the owner, and they said we could park anywhere else and didn't have to use the allocated spot, which was better.
We enjoyed the music from the pub next door on the Saturday night, but we sleep with a white noise machine on, so when we went to bed at 1 AM, we could still hear the music clear as day until we turned it on. Then it was fine, but for some people, I feel that would have been a bit loud and late if they didn't have something to drown out the music next door to the apartment, so maybe avoid a weekend if this would upset you! If you find stairs hard or use a wheelchair, unfortunately, there is no elevator, but I have stayed in palm cove before and found most private appointments are like this.
Also had wardrobe space to hang clothes but no draws to place smaller pieces of clothing but I made do with using the draws in the bathrooms to place them.
- Catherine (9/5): Nice unit handy to everything. Great outdoor area perfect for when the beach not the best. - The location of the unit was perfect, restaurants, surf club and pub at the door. Beach opposite. The outdoor area was great, having a day bed and outside table starlight out from the pool was perfect. A little dark inside.
- Errol (8/5): -
- Alison (9/5): Very happy with room and location. - The location and the views from the balcony were awesome. Nice and close to cafes and restaurants. The amount of stairs which can’t be helped but a lift would be useful. No washer/dryer in room.
- Maureen (7/5): Best was the location as we had family at the caravan park - Good location No lift only stairs, fan in the bedroom not working, two much stuff around the unit, couch uncomfortable.
- Rachel (10/5): -
- Jane (8/5): -
- Anna (7/5): -
- Grant (9/5): The unit was roomy, the outlook was great, lovely views over the pool and to the ocean beyond. - Position was excellent. Lack of a lift was a negative being older people. It was a negative mentioned by everyone we met. Somewhat random assortment of crockery and cutlery was disappointing as was the cheap quality of crockery; bottom line K-Mart Anko stuff. The combination lounge/sofa bed was exceeding uncomfortable as a lounge.
- Stephen (8/5): Good option. - Apt 306. Modern, clean flow through design. Images accurate. Great balcony alongside waterfall. At palm fond height. From 306 ocean view through trees. Easy access underground car park. No lift to 3rd floor. No pool access handles, no steps. Noise from O'Donnell's until 8pm. No reception open...need to walk to LJ hooker ,
5 minute walk 9-4pm 5 days a week
- Ronald (8/5): A lovely place in a location that is hard to beat. - Very spacious. Close to everything. Quiet. Secure. Medium pool. Just outside the beach. The crew Allowed us a late checkout (1pm). Thank you! A little bland. Lots of flies inside. Small shower (but a big bathroom). But none of these bothered us.
- Pavan (10/5): -
- Alexa (8/5): Great location for a winter getaway. Can explore or enjoy the beach. - The location and the spacious apartment. Having glasses not plastic There was nothing I didnt like/
