Guest Reviews
- Tasha (1/5): WOULD BE A GREAT STAY IF THE CLEANER DONE A THOROUGH CLEAN REGULARLY OF ALL APPLIANCES AN SURFACESES - The location The place hadn't had a proper clean in a while the air-conditioning had 3 giant cocroches come out of it when I first turnt it on an a few others came out threw out our stay, the sheets were stained to the point I had to go buy my own to sleep on from the local shopping centre, there was sticky stuff inside the bed side lamps an old dead bugs also, the carpet had what looks to be dried chocolate marks on the floor near the fridge an the coffee maker had old pods still in the machine an also the back where they hold the used pods. There was dried up coffee still in the machine also. Clearly wasn't cleaned last use. There is no screens on the windows so you can't have the beach breeze flow threw due to mossies getting in. Also the ceiling fan doesn't work at all, NOT EVEN ON LOW NO MOVE MENT AT ALL. An the fanis the only other means of air flow other then air-conditioning which I couldn't use due to the roaches. The bed has a spring right in the middle of the bed. The bathroom draws the amount of gunk that hasn't been cleaned nor wiped out in quiet some time shows tht this place hasn't had a thorough clean in quiet some time.
- Jennifer (6/5): It was ok. - A block away from the beach and lots of walking paths. Water access to the kitchenette instead of using a glass to ferry water from the bathroom sink to the kettle etc. Zero communication, I was sent the wrong contact # within booking.com emails but even when I found this out (AFTER I got home) no-one responded to my text - to the correct # - or email. Very poor. Also the door rattles when it’s windy, I had to push my suitcase against it at night to stop it rattling so I could get some sleep.
- Kristie (10/5): Lovely stay, we’ll be sure to book again! - Nice stay and good value. We loved the herb garden out front. Easy walk to the beach and nice views from the porch area.
- Malcolm (10/5): Would be my first choice when coming into the area again - Was spot on & catered for my stay perfectly. Very welcoming & homely. True to the advertising Nothing
- Terry (2/5): Was not as advertised on the booking site. - Check in was very late. It was not a 1 bedroom apartment as advertised. It was a bedroom with a shared house. ie share lounge, kitchen and bathroom.
- Karen (10/5): -
- Mary-Rose (1/5): I have stayed in many home stays and this was not value for money. Would not recommend to anyone. - I wasn’t aware of having to use stairs until confirmation and advice of no refunds.
Very difficult to navigate suitcase over pebbles and intermittent pavers
Ceiling fan didn’t work
Tap in the bathroom is very loose and difficult to use.
Freezer was frozen and not able to fit much into it. No ice cube trays.
Broken blind
Couldn’t open the windows as there was no fly screen
Cutlery is pathetic wouldn’t cut anything and kept bending.
If bin day is Wednesday you need a better system, I arrived Thursday and the bins were overflowing
Washing up in the bathroom basin was an absolute joke. Nowhere to put the dishes and very little room for the dishes in the basin.
Bedside lamp didn’t work
- Dale Matthews (9/5): - Value for money, location. n/a
- Sallyann (8/5): - The room was exceptional. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. Your home is beautiful. The guests upstairs played loud music until past 10pm on the first night. And both nights we could hear them having sex early hours of the morning. I had to put earphones in to block out the noise.
- Carol (5/5): - Clean and tidy. Upstairs noise was very loud.
Bathroom tiles very slippery when wet.
- blake (5/5): Ok - Clean Noise from upstairs you can hear people walking around
Freezer of fridge was full of ice needs defrosting down lights didn’t work basin mixer tap loose
- Mark (7/5): -
- Andrea (8/5): Very accommodating and comfortable - Very comfortable , I like the laundry and kitchenette The numbers on the key boxs have faded or not there
- Diane (8/5): -
- Tanya (8/5): -
- Krnngrg (6/5): Adequate for my needs - Clean spacious studio apartment in a quiet neighbourhood. Close to beach, scarborough township and redcliffe pier. It has a very pleasant communal outdoor area with some sea views. Quite adequate if you don't intend to spend much time in your unit especially at night. The lock box was not numbered and there was a choice of 3, so had a few stressful moments trying to get the correct one open. Very poor soundproofing such that you can hear most noises from the unit above such as snoring, taking off their shoes and going to the shower and toilet. Sink/tap not deep enough to fill the kettle meaning you need to use a cup to fill it.
- Fiori (7/5): Good -
- Tara (3/5): Noisy !!!! No privacy ! - Paper thin walls and ceilings very noisy ! Glorified backpackers at best. No privacy. It's not a unit it's a room and bathroom.
- Carissa (1/5): Left early, not value for money - N/a No on-site manager
Woken at 4am by a Domestic incident in the room next door
No iron on the property that was advertised
Booked for 5 nights and left after 2 night
Extremely overpriced accomodation
$90 cleaning fee for a room is overpriced
- Monique (9/5): A great location close to the water and Dolphins Kayo stadium where we were attending a touch tournament for a couple da - Everything was lovely nice and clean bed was comfy and spacious a cosy balcony a nice room to chill and relax
- Bronka (9/5): Superb -
- Nardine (8/5): Very good - The bed was comfortable The apartment was small. The patio and laundry were communal. No dryer or iron. The unit was an ensuit room. We were on the second floor. We could hear everyone entering and walking above us.
- Melanie (10/5): Amazing location loved my little holiday getaway -
- Crystal (5/5): Passable - Keeps getting accused of stuff I was not doing
- Linda (7/5): All good - Perfect location, for me, great bus service. Lots of ants around!
- Jane (3/5): Disappointed in room as it could do with a paint and update - We thought we were staying in a unit not a Bedsit
- Anonymous (6/5): Pleasant -
- Callum (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Jennifer (1/5): There was no duty of care taken by the owners. House rules are over board. Expensive backpackers. - This place was an over priced expencive backpackers with no parking facilities.
The owners would have known prior to our booking that the property next door was having a house removed. If we had known that we would not have booked. Work started at 6am. Continuing all.day. and starting again at 11.45pm till 3am in the morning with police escorts.
We payed for 2 nights stayed 1 and asked for reimbursement for the night we didnt stay and was refused.
House rules.... there are 15 house rules you must read and adhere to.
I have take a photo so as you ca read.
1 is dont leave any bodily fluid on the bed or you will be charged for new linen.
Another dont eat or drink in the bed or leave crumbs in the bed as again you will be charged.
My husband and I were to uncomfortable to even lay on the bed.
I slept on a towel.
- Gerhard (9/5): Superb -
- Steven (7/5): Good -
- Christine (6/5): The room was clean but don’t think it was good value for money . - Had to park car on street
Kitchen without a sink had to fill kettle in bathroom with a cup
Ceiling Fan did not work and pedestal fan also did not work
Noisy people in unit above us, has timber floors
No flyscreens fitted mosquitoes at night in room
- Kelly (10/5): Exceptional - Great facilities. The location was amazing. Walking distance to beach, Redcliff and public transport.
- Sharon (8/5): Would choose to stay again. - Location was good.
Easy access. Barking dog next door.
Was unsure where to park.
- Murray (5/5): Passable - Comfy little unit..
No cooking facilities though The pin codes was wrong...
Could not get the keys to enter at 8.30 at night.
Trying to find contact details through Booking.com was an absolute nightmare..
I was very close to giving up and getting a refund.
There should be better ways of contacting someone either on booking.com or the caretaker of the actual place.
- Sharon (9/5): Lovely spot, very clean and spacious room. - Location was great. Very quiet area. I'm not a fan of single beds put together to make a queen, but in saying that it still a comfortable bed.
- Riah (9/5): It was nice, being able to check in at any hour was very helpful - Awesome shower and bedding No kitchen sink facilities
- Katherine (7/5): Pleasant. - Quiet. Close to beach. Nowhere to hang clothes
Expected to wash used crockery and glassware with no appropriate dishwasher facilities
Washed bowls and glassware in bathroom sink.
- Sean (1/5): Bad -
- Kylie (6/5): Pleasant - Location Not enough hanging space for laundry or drier, no forks, dinning seat's need upgrading.
- Kevin (8/5): Very good - Cleanliness and quiet location. Finding air con on 16c when we arrived., and air con fan on VERY high. Room extremely cold and bathroom so cold all glass was frosted. Result when we opened door and windows was a 'sweating' effect making bathroom floor VERY wet and slippery.
- Dougy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shane (1/5): WORST EVER IT was a special birthday long weekend for my beautiful wife - NOTHING Two single beds in stead of a double as our booking showed
No aircon there was one on the wall but didn’t work
Tried to use the ceiling fan and it wobbles and shakes uncontrollably
Opened the two windows no fly screens and timber blinds blowing in the breeze all night was such a joy
And if anyone is staying above you as they move around sounds like a herd of Elephants going nuts
Please be careful when you turn on the tap in the luxurious ensuite that it doesn’t fall off in your hand
Microwave has dried spillage not wiped out
Coffee machine trays were full of spillage the ants were happy having a great time on caffeine
Rubbish on floor rubbish in vanity drawer mould in the shower and scum in many places runs of something down walls
The quality of linen was very poor
You don’t get a private balcony it’s a shared one
And the property manager was no help at all She said there was nothing wrong with any off it but my many pictures paint a very different story
Booking.com also failed in addressing the issue before I was able to get a corrected email off them to forward my many photos they paid for the accommodation in FULL and now we have no chance of getting any off OUR money back
SO MY ADVICE DON’T DO IT
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Gareth (6/5): We managed but communication was not satisfactory - Location Dirty cutlery, mess in bathroom and no hair dryer (we bought one). Also a photo of an a/c on the website but it’s not included
- Andrea (8/5): Lovely location, great place to stay. Very clean and tidy. Only downfall was other inconsiderate people staying there. - Perfect location, the room was a great size and had was very comfortable Inconsiderate people staying at the same property. Upstairs thumping around makes it very noisey downstairs, and people not being respectful and sharing the common areas. Could possibly do with a dryer and an aircon remote would be great.
- Gary (8/5): Very good -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Harry (6/5): enjoyable, but could have been better, we are not sure if the communication glitches were the fault of the property mana - good location, and shared facility like the laundry and outside balcony were great. late check-in and had to wait around for a message regarding key collection.
Air conditioner control was missing and wifi password not provided until a message request was made. No kitchen tap or sink and could not fill the kettle in the bathroom sink.
