Guest Reviews
- Thomas (8/5): -
- Clare (7/5): Beautiful flat in Kensington, great for our group of 5. - Comfortable and spacious No bath mat, bedside lamp didn’t work.
- Ben (9/5): -
- Guest (8/5): Sehr schöne Wohnung - Sehr gross und schön
Wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Haartrockner fehlte
Nur wenig Geschirr
- Deborah (8/5): Great stay in good accommodation in great location - Great location
Modern and clean Not enough crockery for everyone ( cereal bowls) bedside lights unusable due to wrong plugs toilet roll holder broken- small things but stop it being ‘Luxury’
- Paul (9/5): -
- Winnie (9/5): Superb -
- Kate (6/5): Pleasant -
- Anonymous (5/5): A large, but mediocre apartment in a great location - The location of the apartment (near two metro stations) and its size (three bedrooms plus an upstairs loft area) were great. The listing advertises air conditioning, but it didn't work downstairs where the three bedrooms are located. As is happening more often, London experienced a heat wave while we visited. The lack of functional a/c made sleeping very uncomfortable. We booked this apartment because it advertised a/c, so this was a big issue for our family. On top of that, as other reviews note, the apartment is unfinished and the shower in en suite bathroom is in need of repair. If you're going to charge Kensington prices, you should deliver Kensington quality. This apartment failed to do so.
- James (2/5): Luxury only describes the location not the apartment - Good location Poorly maintained - no bedside table s on both sides of each double bed
Bedside lights with EU plugs so that they couldn’t be used
Broken fittings in the bathroom and cheap bedding and low cost beds
Luxury only describes the location not the apartment
Inability of owner to provide an invoice for payment after multiple requests
- Sonja (9/5): Superb -
- Alexandra (10/5): Exceptional - Very well equipped flat, we had everything we needed. Wifi is only available in living room! This is an easy fix, and would add so much comfort to the experience!
- Lauren (6/5): Pleasant, but could have been amazing. - Before I start, I must point out that we had a lovely stay. If you read on, it looks like I am going to bag out the apartment, but I am adding everything in the hope that the owner reads the reviews and puts her hands in her pockets, spends some money and changes some things. And if she doesn’t, at least you know what you’re coming to. The reality is different from the photos and it is definitely not luxury - but has the potential to be. I can’t understand why anyone would have a property of that value and not make the best of it.
Really spacious apartment in a fantastic location. Earl’s Court tube 5 mins one way, Gloucester Rd tube 5 mins the other way. Supermarkets 5-10 mins walk away depending on your choice. M & S, Sainsburys & Tesco Express on your doorstep. Felt safe walking around, even at night. Loads of pubs/bars and places to eat really close by. The apartment building felt safe and secure and was very quiet, in a leafy area. The owner was very approachable and did assist with some things prior to arrival, at our request, which we appreciated. 41 steps up to the apartment from the ground floor. Needs to be clearer on the listing. Insignificant for us but to other guests, this may be a big deal. All of the maintenance issues listed on the reviews from months ago are still outstanding, which is a shame. Only 2 lamps in the entire apartment with US plugs on them, so were unusable (we weren’t from America!). No microwave. Coffee machine was useless as it takes pods that you can only buy online prior to coming (those big Nespresso dome ones, if you’re interested). There were only 2 flat cushions for 2 sofas, not like the photos. Kitchen poorly stocked with equipment, silicone colander had disintegrated and we struggled to cook basic family meals for our week’s stay. There looked to have been basic cupboard stuff added and left by other guests, rather than by the owner. No guest manual for instructions on how to work the heating / cooling, or even where to take rubbish out to. Temperature of water on the showers & bath were only just warm at best. Shower door hinge has dropped in main bathroom so you have to lift it first and pull it in otherwise it won’t shut properly and the bathroom floor floods. This is going to be a big problem if the hinge snaps and the heavy glass door falls on a guest. Door handle very loose in the en-suite and also doesn’t shut properly. This shower also needs a good scrub as it’s quite mouldy. One of the wall lights broken in the bathroom so just the bare bulb. Water damage on ceiling in the kitchen. Most of the furniture is ready for the tip. Only 1 mirror across 3 bedrooms! No bedside table in bed 3 and only 1 in each of the other 2 bedrooms. Towels worn, thin and tiny. Not white and fluffy like the photos. Mattresses and bedding cheap and ready to be changed. You can literally feel every spring. No access to private garden. Has an amazing Mezzanine level with bi-fold doors out to a roof terrace - with no furniture in it to enjoy it!
- Sarah (8/5): A comfortable stay - It was a beautiful flat, in a great location The showers need a good clean, they were mouldy. The property also lacked finishing touches, like bedside lamps and decor on the walls.
- Eileen (8/5): Lovely stay in a superb area of London . - Quiet charming location near tube, shops and restaurants which felt safe.
Big clean airy rooms.
Lovely furniture in lounge .
Roof terrace -lovely addition when sunny .
Bathroom and kitchen fresh and contemporary.
Owner very receptive, friendly and helpful. En-suite shower tray needs replaced.
No microwave or coffee machine.
Synthetic bedding, no mattress or pillow protectors.
A lot of stairs to climb with heavy luggage .
- Jamie (8/5): Very good - It would be good to add a home Wi-Fi network so that visitors could get Wi-Fi in bedrooms
- David (10/5): Large accommodation in a great location - Great location close to train station and shops. Large accommodation with good size rooms. Private entry and secure building. Nothing
- Paul (10/5): Exceptional -
- Dana (6/5): Beautiful location, disappointing experience - Fantastic location, beautiful building and lovely, spacious apartment. 3 mins walk to Gloucester Rd station was great.
Communication/instructions from the owner were quick, comprehensive & friendly.
However, we found the attention to details lacking in how the apartment was fitted out. We stayed 4 nights with our children and wanted to cook meals & wash clothes. The mattresses, pillows, bedding & towels were surprisingly low quality for such a beautiful apartment.
Only one bedside table & lamp in each of the double rooms.
Only 2 cereal bowls in the kitchen.
Broken toilet roll holder, lamp fittings, shower door handle.
No hand soap in one bathroom. Only 2 rolls of toilet paper available. No spare towels or kitchen tea towel.
Dirty mop left in the wardrobe of the single room - really stank after a few days!
Roof top terrace literally falling apart & potentially dangerous.
This all felt so incongruous with the quality of the building & location, and not 'luxury' at all. Fixing these little things would make a huge difference to the comfort of future guests.
If you're only staying 1 night & don't need much in the way of domestic facilities, then this is a great choice. But for our family needs, it felt disappointing and not good value for money.
- Clare (9/5): Fantastic 3 bed apartment - We were so impressed with this extremely spacious apartment
Had everything we needed
Comfy beds
Beautiful view overlooking gardens
Modern decor
Big bathrooms
Super shower
Convenient for RAH
Walking distance to pubs
Clear access instructions
Fabulous roof terrace that would be amazing in the warmer months if tidied up a bit Elderly dad struggled a bit with stairs so be aware there’s no lift (I did know about, this but you’re never quite sure exactly how many stairs there’ll be before you arrive)
It’s worth mentioning I think that the apartment felt a little bit like work in progress; there is a mezzanine level that isn’t quite finished and the roof terrace had random items on and fallen planters
Could do with some nice accessories to make it feel a bit more homely (wall art, rugs maybe etc)
Shower cubicle door in main bathroom wouldn’t fully close leaving quite a gap whilst showering
- Kristina (9/5): Superb -
- Louise (5/5): Passable - Fantastic location, spacious accommodation Could have been cleaner, we arrived to a dishwasher full of dirty pots, dirty pan and other equipment in kitchen drawers, dirty shower in main bedroom the bed in the second double room smelt of dirty old sweat, thin old pillows, not enough towels for everyone. There was a used plastic water bottle and a chocolate wrapper in the lounge, coffee stains on the stairs leading up to the outdoor area. Such a shame this is a stunning apartment let down by not being cleaned properly and needing some care and attention.
- Elley (10/5): Exceptional - The flat was very comfortable and exactly what we were looking for over New Year Nothing
- Anders (8/5): Very good -
- Zico (10/5): Lovely stay in Kensington! - location was brilliant as well as apartment itself!
- Mccain (8/5): Great place, excellent location, great communication from host - Great location, charming building, lots of space, great bathrooms, heated floors! Excellent host! Lots of stairs! Kitchen needs some updated supplies for people who want to cook. Nonstick fry pans are in rough shape, more kitchen towels and potholders .
- Hwi (7/5): It was a functional stay. - Location was great. And close to tube station, with a straight line to Heathrow. Close to amenities. Charming property. Property wasn’t super clean upon check in. Shelf was unclean in one of the toilets and a dirty towel was left in one of the cupboards.
Beds were a super soft and lumpy and I could feel the springs of the mattress! Ended up with a back ache. No amenities provided - toilet paper, shower gel, etc. so best be prepared on arrival. Property has lots of potential to be great if such small details and bedding mattress quality were to be improved.
- Liana (9/5): Would definitely stay again - The location was excellent and the instructions from the owner were great. Plenty of space too
The apartment was very clean and had everything needed for our stay. Great value for money will be back again The only problem was the heating as the kitchen was set at 27degrees which was very warm and living room temperature was very cold but not able to adjust any settings. A few blankets made it a little more comfortable
- Michele (9/5): We enjoyed our stay very much. It’s a very lovely place and very quiet. The location is perfect. - The location was wonderful. This is very minor but there were only two small spoons. There was absolutely no cutlery in the unit. We had to go out and buy plastic ones. We found this to be very odd.
- Tina (9/5): Superb - Almost everything Not a complaint but we were 4 females and had to share the bathroom mirror and the mirror from the ensuite so we felt that mirrors in the two other bedrooms would have been helpful. It was fine for two nights although any longer it probably would've become annoying.
Having said that, everything else was perfect
- Geraldine (9/5): Fantastic location, gracious host. - Fantastic location. Easy to access. Roomy apartment. The living room never got warm and we really couldn't be in there, it was so cold.
I was surprised there was no coffee maker.
- Karen (7/5): Good - Great Spacious Accomodation
- Julie (9/5): Excellent accommodation great location fresh and clean with excellent communication with host - The location was excellent
The bedding and towels were all good quality and freshly laundered There was no hand towel or tea towel in kitchen
We didn’t need to use dishwasher because we just hand washed a few cups / plates but no tea towel to dry etc
Also our bedside lamp did not work in bedroom with en-suite
- Martin (6/5): Overall a pleasant stay - It's a big flat with plenty of space if you're travelling as family.
Two bathrooms and showers and well equipped kitchen.
The host was good at responding on questions and took care of the issues we experienced. There was no heat the first night which lower the overall experience of the stay. We were not able to get in touch with the owner immediate as she was on a flight. When she arrived at the flat she tried to solve the issue but had to call for assistance which came the day after and fixed the issue. However she did find some extra quilts for us.
Regarding the cleaning the trash was not carried out when we arrived and the used sheets from the previous stay was put in one of the cupboards.
And some very few details are missing (which didn't influent our overall stay but it's just some observations): the stick which hold the toiletpaper on one bathroom, no trash bin in one of the bathrooms and no lamp shade on one of the lamps in one of the bathrooms.
- Courtney (8/5): Good value for money good location - Clean excellent location Mattresses were very uncomfortable/cheap could do with replacing
- Ronhamm (9/5): Superb -
- David (10/5): Fabulous accommodation and location! - Great location. Nice rooms and heated floors!! Well equipped! Not much!! If anything the wifi extending to the bedrooms but no big deal
- Daphne (8/5): I would highly recommend this place and would definitely visit! - Location, close to underground and amenities. Lovely neighborhood.
Large space for a family of 5 to unwind at the end of the day Being on the second floor with no lift
Tumble dryer: didn’t work well
- Gwen (7/5): Good -
- Pauline (9/5): Really enjoyed stay and Elizabeth was fabulous helping us with any of our queries - Location is excellent plus a really big apartment for a family of 4 Just one very small thing the kitchen could have a few more cups
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Deepan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victoria (10/5): A wonderful cosy home in idyllic Kensington - Fantastic property, good size rooms and all the facilities you need. It was very cosy and homely, but improvements could be made to utilise the upstairs space and there could be an opportunity for some art design pieces to make the place quite interesting.
- Karen (9/5): Lovely apartment in a green area. - The property is lovely - is a in fabulous area and very big - plenty of room. It had everything we needed for an overnight stay.
- Alan (10/5): Beautiful gem in the best part of London - The flat is immaculate, beautifully furnished and decorated with everything you could need for a family stay. The location is fantastic, close to the museums. There's a Tesco Express and tube station five minutes walk away and a full size Sainsburys seven minutes walk away.
Liz was great at providing clear instructions and responding to issues. There was a problem with the internet provider one day, although that was out of Liz's control, and could happen anywhere.
- Michelle (10/5): Lovely apartment with great facilities in a prime location-a very enjoyable stay, thank you. - Very convenient location for shops and restaurants-close to tube. Also very quiet and with a lovely view onto a park. The host was very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. The flat was very spacious and with great facilities and tastefully furnished. There was everything we needed for a comfortable stay-we wished it was longer than one night! The Wi-Fi connection kept dropping out but this wasn’t really an issue for us, as we were not staying for long. I’m sure this would have been sorted out if we had asked. Everything else was great and we were very happy.
- Richard (8/5): Great apartment in a great location - Could do with more cups and glasses. There wasn’t enough for us all. Also we didn’t have enough towels. Simple things to make it a better stay.
- James (10/5): Better than any hotel stay! - Very spacious, nice bathrooms.
- Laela (9/5): Great stay and will definitely stay again! - The location is great and very close to the Station and amenities!
- Beatriz (9/5): Fabulous lication and apartment, perfect communication with the owner of the flat. She was always helpful and great atte - Location and flat NA
