• Lena (10/5): A memorable weekend stay - We got an upgrade to a room with balcony and fireplace! The room was spacious, tastefully decorated and there were many personal touches. This immediately enhanced our enjoyment of the Manoir. We stayed for two nights and spent a full day at the spa which was very relaxing. We enjoyed the food and ambiance at both restaurants and it was a lovely place to celebrate our anniversary. The staff was super kind and treated us with warmth and kindness. We wanted to stay at Manoir Hovey because of the lake scenery but unfortunately it was very muddy so we didn't explore the area too much. It was low season because of the weather so it was quite peaceful. I would like to come back in the Summer or Fall.

Good variety of options. Soups, salads, pasta dishes and sandwiches. Le Hatley for dinner was exceptional per usual. Interesting menu options with wine pairings and table d'hote. Everything was delicious and exquisitely prepared. The heated pool was a treat and spa options were great. Ice skating was listed as an activity and we were excited but the location was not at the Manoir but in Magog about 15 minutes away.

Cela nous convenait mais ce n'est pas une prestation R&C. Les petits déjeuners étaient décevants. Pas très healthy. Pas du niveau R&C.

It was so bad that we had to open windows and doors until the bad odour dissipated. We have never encountered this problem in any of our travels nor any of our stays at Hovey Manor over the 30 plus years that we have been guests.

One talking over the other, offering me restaurant reservations when I knew the restaurant was fully booked for over a week, how did they not know that? It’s not terrible service it just doesn’t live up to a relais château experience. One more suggestion: consider creating a coffee shop spot offering pastries. When staying with children or even as a couple, you sometimes don’t want or have time for the Michelin star breakfast experience, especially when staying a few nights. Or in the library next to the coffee, offer a basket of muffins and croissants.

Took 40 mins to get a glass of wine and an hour for a bread roll in the Hovey restaurant. Staff were pleasant but felt they couldn’t cope with the number of guests. Also not enough sun loungers by the pool

• Marta (8/5): Beautiful and relaxing, but needs some improvement - Location, incl. location of pool & Jacuzzi overlooking the lake, atmosphere, cachet, mostly excellent staff (Special shoutout to restaurant staff and reception), level of the food and service in both restaurants and the fly fishing class made my dreams come true! Some of the property could use some love and update. We had an accident due to a railing that was completely loose. To their credit, someone came to repair within 5 min., we are luckily there is no concussion. My main complaint is that the food/drink service at the pool took excruciatingly long. And the staff mainly hid in the cabana instead of going around asking if someone wanted something… you had to get up and go see them or luck out flagging them down. Also, the breakfast part that we ordered was wonderful, but the supporting buffet was ridiculous for 50$… no bread or baguette for the cheese, only croissants and nearly empty at opening. I would still return, but this was hit and miss for me. I guess I expect more from a 5 star.

• Steve (10/5): Wonderful retreat and amazing spa! - The room was fantastic, but the real highlights were the spa (recently renovated, with two large hot tubs and two extremely relaxing relaxation rooms) and the dinner at the restaurant. It was pretty easy to hear people walking in the halls, since the walls were fairly thin, but to be expected in an older building.

• Kyle (6/5): Sadly, not what I expected... - Nice location. I bet it would be even more beautiful in the summer and fall. The thermal spa was very modern, relaxing and beautiful. The amenities/acvessories in the hotel room was great and the attention to detail was very well done! The standard room was extemely disappointing and wasn't at all what I expected. It is extremely small and it looks NOTHING like the photos posted on the booking site (they should be changed!). The bathroom is also split between a separate room and the main room which was awkward feeling like a dormitory. Also, the bathtub is so small that only a small child could fit into it. You could also hear everything in the room next door (conversations, etc) and I was entertained most of the evening by banging sounds. If I had to do this again, the price of the room definitely does not justify its cost. Sadly, not worth it at all. Very misleading.
