• Cat (3/5): Sadly the dishonest hosts had a very negative affect on our family holiday - It had been tastefully done up and the proximity to the beach was great. Construction at the property started while we were staying there and we weren’t told about it. It affected our ability to enjoy our star there and the facilities advertised weren’t available.

• Sarah (9/5): Cosy apartment with great access to the things Hervey Bay has to offer. - Wonderful little apartment with easy access to the beach and other things around. A few essential things for cooking could be added, i.e: a large pan for cooking pasta.
• Amber (1/5): - The location opposite the beach The place was very noisy, road noise cant be helped but there is no soundproofing so you can hear the other tennants., The pool was dirty, the room upon check in was dirty, the sheets had stains, toaster full of crumbs, couch cushions had popcorn under them, floors were dirty and sticky, no garbage bags for the main bin or dishwasher tablets.. When we provided feedback and photos and asked if the bedding could be changed and the place be tidied the cleaning people just turned the bedding inside out instead of changing it and swept the floor. We were then charged for the sheets that were already stained when we checked out..Disgraceful wouldn't recommend it

• Jan (10/5): As before highly recommend!!! - The entire apartment was clean and modern. The hosts have gone above and beyond with all fittings and little extras they have included. Great location across the road from the beach. Highly recommend. Just lovely. Not a thing!!!
• Marilyn (9/5): Nice unit close to restaurants. - Main bedroom ceiling fan makes a lot of noise and remote control doesn’t work properly. Can’t bring the speed down. There was no dishwasher cloth to hand wash dishes.
• Tara (7/5): Nice but a little noisy - Close to the beach. Exterior and communal parts are a little dated although the property has been modernised inside. The main issue is the noise from the road and neighbouring guests. Because of the wooden structure of the accommodation, sound travels. The property is next to the beach road which was busy from 6:00am until approximately 11.00pm. I used ear plugs so it wasn’t too much of an issue but lighter sleepers might struggle.

It's a comfortable and well appointed holiday apartment. Glad I have a small car because the carpark was a bit tight. Plenty of street parking if I chose not to use the carport though.

• Rebolledo (10/5): A great way to break a long trip in a perfectly lovely little hideaway. - Every thing was beautifully set up and you immediately felt like you were home with everything you needed at your fingertips. Personally I would rather have been in a ground because I struggle with stairs however , immediately after I unlocked the front door I forgot about the stairs, honestly.

The beach is across the road and shops, cafes and restaurants are all available within a short distance. The appartment is very well presented and comfortable with everything you need for a relaxing stay. The host, Leanne is very helpful and responds to any requests very quickly. All in all a lovely place to stay whilst in Hervey Bay. The one drawback for the convenient location is that the esplanade out front can be quite busy and noisy at times, especially weekends. However this is the price you pay for being so close to the beach.

Best range of appliances we have encountered including a Nespresso and an air-fryer. Lawns, gardens and pool well maintained. Well equipped coin laundry. From the outside the Bay Shack is one of 12 units in an older style motel that has been upgraded. Don't let that put you off. Other residents were friendly and helpful.

Good covered parking on site, large vehicles would need to easy street parking. Beach in just across the esplande. Easy, quick access to town centre.

• Kay (10/5): Superb - This is our second time staying here. We love it. The apartment is like a home away from home. So comfortable, tastefully decorated/appointed, very clean, and provided everything you could need. The location is superb. The beach is across the road and good cafes/restaurants within walking distance. It was a lovely surprise to find the apartment decorated for Christmas with lots of lovely Christmas goodies to enjoy - so thoughtful!

The spaces at the rear were very tight and it was easier to park on the street at the front where our unit was (as recommended by the owner). It's definitely not a deal breaker, though.

• Cheng (9/5): Very good place to stay at Hervey Bay… once you can locate the apartment. - Comfortable, clean and well equipped. Just about everything you need for a vacation. And located directly across the beach. Difficult to locate at first as the unit is part of an apartment block with a different name. Would have been easier if it was clearly indicated in booking.com. We drove around looking for signs of the Bay Beach Shack. Fortunately a lady at the motel across the street helped us out. Instructions on the apartment name and unit no. as well as the check in (lock box with key) instructions should be sent say a day before.

The unit was very comfortable and clean, nicely decorated with a really well equipped kitchen. We didn't use the pool but the pool and BBQ area looked nice and grounds were well maintained. There us no formal check-in but instructions for access were simple. Nothing to dislike.

• Thea (9/5): Beautiful getaway that would be equally great for a young family, friends, an older couple. - It was right across the road from the beach, had a pool in the complex and the unit itself was fitted out in a beautiful neutral colour palette, with all the things you could need for a great getaway. No coffee machine (we brought ours with us)…because the property owner was excellent at communicating what the unit had/didn’t have so we knew what to expect upon arrival.
