Guest Reviews
- Ramy Abdurrahman (10/5): -
- Pavel (7/5): - Great value, if that is what you are looking for, and also great for exploring Suleymaniye mosque and the traditional neighborhood around it. Attitude. What I have by mistake written about Kumbet hotel (which was great for meeting my needs) was actually meant for Men's Hostel.
- Aghil (1/5): avoice this place! - nothing! They charged me more than than the amount shown in the booking... the address was hard to find and it was not clean
- Ronald Martin (10/5): - We booked two bunkbeds in a shared room, but we were pleasantly surprised to receive a private apartment that was worth far more than what we paid. That unexpected upgrade was a delightful gesture from the host.
The location is perfect central and close to the Aksaray metro, but still tucked away on a peaceful street.
The host is a genuinely amazing person.
Thank you, Ahmed!

- Baniabaz (8/5): Great value for the price. - The staff was friendly and helpful, keeps the place clean. The hostel was Ok and the location was great. I recommend for solo travelers. The beds were not that comfortable, need to be changed.

- Gómez (9/5): Great place for an incredible price - It's a small authentic home in the arabic area of Istanbul. I think most people complaining is people expecting a 5 star hotel from this 10€/night house. The place was for me more than enough clean and maybe the beds aren't the most comfortable but again, It's what's expected. The staff was lovely and very welcoming, I had to work remotely and the wi-fi works pretty well so I could without a problem. The location is great and you essentially really feel in an Istanbul home instead of in a hotel. Again, is not a comfortable place to have the best repairing rest. It's a humble home to spend the nights.
Also they asked me to pay 10€ as assurance when i already paid all my nights, which i didn't really understand but they gave it back at the check-out without problem so just letting you know that.
- Hamid (8/5): Very good - Good for those who want to spend days in Istanbul
- Agusharimurti (10/5): Exceptional - It's really a good budget option.

- Serhiy (10/5): Exceptional -
- Laurent (10/5): Pleasant welcome - It's a budget nice hostel, with great location. I booked for me and my child two beds in a shared quadruple room. When the kind host understood I was with my child, he surprised us with a free upgrade to a private double room for families, which was not occupied. This was so kind gesture. Thank you, Ahmed and Oussama.
- Julien (10/5): Exceptional -
- Siti (10/5): Exceptional - Good experience, thanks for hospitality!
- Gabriel (10/5): Exceptional - Nice little hostel, price in a brilliant spot.
- Saiful (10/5): Exceptional - Masa Allah, in the middle of Fatih, the best area for tourism and only 100 meters from Sultan Fatih mosque. Very good and helpful brothers and also good price.
- Michael (1/5): Not worth the extra $. hush, hush, pay and go! - Decent location. Staff is unpleasant, sleeps in the same room with u and never leaves the room sitting at his desk...creepy.
Wifi is choppy. Beds are wobbly and small. Got denied drinking water. Apparently, you need to pay extra to use the 1x1 balcony.
Got bitten by bugs.
- Nikolai (10/5): Exceptional - Nice place I recommend.
- Julien (10/5): Good value! - We liked the place and location. It is just in the middle of Fatih (Constantinople), nice stay and budget friendly. The hosts were very friendly.
- Oliver (10/5): Perfect location, budget stay, very honest and friendly hosts. - Turned up on the day they were doing some renovations, painting and stuff. The host was really decent, gave me the choice to shift rooms, cancel with no hassle, or even stay for free. Ended up switching rooms which worked out sweet. I appreciated the honesty. The booking was bloody cheap too! The most affordable price I’ve come across so far. Booking once again soon!
- Sergii (7/5): Good -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional - Great experience and polite hosts, thank you Ahmed and Osama for the nice food!

- Boittin (8/5): Friendly, good value for money - Great location, Ahmed was great and gave us all the help we needed to get settled in and comfortable. Great value for money. Nothing
- Fernando (10/5): Exceptional - Really great experience, and everything was just fine.
Regarding location: Excellent which is exactly in the center of Fatih (Historic Constantinople)
Best price for sure.
Plus: No rowd at all, as It was the smallest hostel size with a small number of guests.
Plus: Restaurants are everywhere and some have the cheapest rates compared to crazy prices in touristic areas.
The staff were so kind.
- Juancarlos (8/5): Very good -
- Jonathan (1/5): I couldn’t stay - The man who helped me was very kind The place is nowhere near the tourist area of the city. The neighborhood feels unsafe. Everything in the apartment was really dirty, especially the toilet, which was completely unusable due to limescale and a bad smell. I couldn’t stay even one night
- Siavash (10/5): Best experience. - Staff are polite, respect the guests, friendly and prompt. I am pleased to have stayed in this hostel. I shall for sure come again. Highly recommend to all backpackers. I liked everything about this hostel, honestly.
- Abdülhamit (10/5): Very Reliable & Amazing Overall - Amazing location, amazing people, very reliable, you can trust the facility & enjoy your stay in istanbul fully.
- Irvan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Abdul (6/5): Pleasant -
- Krzysztof (10/5): I have meet such a great people there!!! -
- Zubir94 (7/5): Good - Location Cleanliness
- Ammar (1/5): worst hotel never to let in - It was a worst undescribed hotel. In fact, I was thinking to book another hotel but I spend the my another night in just any way. indescribable shit and worst place to stay. Only its location is good. It is in the mid of Fathen next to fatih mosque. But there are many good hotels around. Almost nothing was likable except its location was satisfactory. Worst ever possible facilities and amenities. Almost no facilities or in their worst form. Horrible literally horrible.
- Kamil (9/5): Superb -
- Kasim (7/5): Good -
- Abdülhamit (10/5): Realistic Istanbul Experience For A Cheap Price - A simple classic real Turkish house with a very kind and helpful host. If you dont like fancy stuff like me for hundreds of euros, spend your time here. The Hostel has a spiritual aura, workers inside pray to God every day. This is Istanbul. No Hilton required.
- Imran (10/5): Great for students and budget travelers - I highly recommend this place! If you are a student planning a long-term stay, you can book here without any hesitation, at least for a few nights.
The location is excellent, and the host is even better. It is a great option for budget travelers and students.
I came to Turkey for my Master’s studies, and initially, staying in a hotel for a few nights was quite expensive. I urgently needed to find affordable long-term accommodation, so I decided to try this super budget-friendly hostel until I could settle down. I was truly fortunate to meet Ustaz Ahmed, the host, who was like an elder brother to me and really helped me establish myself in Turkey. Alhamdulillah, Allah guided me to him.
Not only did he help me find good long-term student accommodation near my university, but he also supported me with my student registration, residency process, and many other crucial matters. I am truly grateful. Thank you, Ustaz Ahmed, for everything! For me nothing much to complain, since basics, safety and affordability are available.
- Muhammad (10/5): Masha Allah... Great memories! - Me and some of my friends made several bookings in this hostel, we liked the friendly atmosphere, great location with very affordable price, above all Ustaz Ahmed is a goodhearted brother and Quran teacher, there were also many good guests and students from our region. Masha Allah great memories!
- Conor (10/5): Exceptional - The stay was satisfactory for the price. The host is kind and communicated well. Cheers, Ahmed!
- Tiago (10/5): Exceptional - Happy New Year! I’m back for a longer stay at the same hostel during my second visit to Istanbul. The hostel is well-located and ideal for budget travelers and backpackers.
- Peter (10/5): Exceptional - Proper bargain, this place. Cheapest price you’ll find in this great location, and the host’s a proper gem! Really kind and welcoming.
- Bohdan (10/5): Exceptional - We had a great family stay, we liked it, and came back again for the winter.
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional - Affordable accommodation in a central location. The host is friendly and flexible, offering room alternatives to suit guests' needs. I was so pleased with my stay and decided to extend it. Thanks, Ahmed, for the warm hospitality!
- David (1/5): Disgusting. Terrible experience - The host was helpful. Terrible. I can't understand how this place has a rating of 8 out of 10. The hygienic conditions, specially at the bathroom, were disgusting. It was full of slugs; i could not even sit down in the toilet because of them. The worst hostel I have stayed at. Just look at the photos.
- Guerroudj (10/5): Quite place but durty - Good price, Durty
- Ihor (10/5): Exceptional - Small nice house, perfect for price and location. Host is honest and friendly.
- David (10/5): wonderful, magical, affordable - great location and price heat
- ちかふさ (9/5): Superb - Best value for price and good location for those who would like to explore the historic and touristic part of Istanbul.
- Ernesto (10/5): Hola - The price was the most affordable we’ve ever paid. We spent most of the day exploring the city and enjoyed our time. When we returned to shower and sleep, the heating was working. The WiFi was good. We truly appreciated the host's kindness.
- Mohammad (10/5): Great stay - The stay at this hostel was pleasant, the amenities were excellent, the room had a balcony with a great view of the Fatih Mosque, and the staff were friendly and helpful. No things to say about it..
- Юлия (10/5): Good luck - We made mistake and booked men’s hostel, but when we arrived, host give us private room in apartment only 200 meters near Aksaray metro. It was much better than hostel, and host give good discount so price almost same. We stay extra week in apartment, very happy!
- Marco (10/5): Exceptional - Good value for the price. It was a little cold, but we were given an extra blankets above and below.
- Yusuf (10/5): In the heart of Fatih - My friend tell me about this hostel, so I book one night to see. I like it so much, so i tell another friend, and he join us few days later. Very good experience in nice location, very close to Fatih Mosque, in the heart of Turkey spiritual. Big thanks Brother Ahmed and Obama!
- Isak (8/5): Very good -
- Emre (9/5): Superb - Everything was fine, the guy working there was very friendly.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Good for anyone looking for a basic, budget-friendly stay. The hosts are friendly and honest, and the communication before check-in was clear and helpful. Thanks Ahmed!
- Iok (3/5): If you can be patient with the bedding, kitchen and toilet, then there will be no other problems. - I like that it is located in a polite community The owner took advantage of the guests who had made reservations without further contacting him via WhatsApp as a loophole for failed reservations, thereby asking for higher rents from the guests who came to stay. I'm one of them, I contacted them through booking.com's system but got no reply. There is also another person in the same room who has not been successfully contacted through WhatsApp. The owner uses the low price to attract customers to his place, but after changing the price, the guests cannot choose to leave. Because other accommodation in this area is more expensive.
I would like to make it clear to other people who want to stay here that in addition to the above-mentioned problems, the room bedding and kitchen are not clean at this hostel. The owner is not a friendly person either.
- Valerio (9/5): Superb - Amazing hosts!
- José (10/5): Exceptional - We liked the house and location. We arrived late at 2:00 am, which is outside the usual hosting hours, but the host was kind enough to wake up and welcome us, even though our reservation was last-minute. Be sure to contact the so friendly host in advance to arrange your arrival time, it made our check-in easy and saved us on that late hour. The value is excellent for the price.
- Eric (7/5): Superb value for money in an underground neighbourhood - The popular district of Fathi, not yet contaminated by "Insta-Bnbers", the street in the neighborhood is not noisy as hell, the cracky wood floor of that old but charming crib. Ahmed, the owner is very kind and will explain everything upon arrival. 20 mn walk from the subway station. Two hours from SAW airport by train/sub. Well spotted. Best price ever. Plenty of shops around, 1% of white trashes. Perfect equation. Squashed mattresses (at least mine), low space between the bunk bed. Heating issue when I was there. About to be repaired. Dodgy showers, but well hot 🥵.
- Zulfadli (9/5): Superb - It was nice experience! I decide to extend my stay. Here I had the chance to meet multilingual guests from many countries, conversations and chats in about 8 languages!
- Anthony (10/5): Exceptional - Oussama is very helpfull and kind. Everything was has expected. I recommend!
- 袁 (9/5): Superb -
- Lars (10/5): Exceptional - It’s a good location, not fancy but just fine for this price range. The host is a friendly and humble older man who often takes care of the cleaning himself and seem to strive to sustain with his low budget. It is something to respect. Some guests cook and just leave so host or someone else have to clean himself. Even the cleaning deposit that they charged is not covering this damage. Some other guests are not fair.
- 秋彦 (10/5): Exceptional - Nice and affordable for backpackers, also safe and central area and near so many restaurants, transportation, and touristic locations.
- Lim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Julien (10/5): Nice Hostel, Host, and Location! - The hostel is nice and not crowded. The location was also perfect, and price is crazy cheap. On the top of that the host is a kind person. Mr Ahmed and Osama were so nice and helped me to fix my bike, which I used for travel. I stayed more than I actually planned and they were just so welcoming and helpful.
- Topreview (1/5): Booking is supporting a false advertisement in this listing causing hardship to the customers - Location Review for Mens Hostel in Fatih
I am deeply saddened and disturbed by my experience at this hostel. The conditions are far from what was advertised, and I feel compelled to warn other travelers to avoid this place for their own safety and well-being.
Health and Safety Concerns:
• Severe Mold and Damage: The ceiling is covered in mold and peeling paint, with visible water damage everywhere. This is a serious health hazard that has been neglected for what appears to be a long time.
• Cracked and Damaged Walls: Large portions of the walls are crumbling, with exposed wiring and flaking paint. It feels unsafe and unsanitary, not to mention the risk of falling debris.
• Overall Neglect: The entire place has been poorly maintained, with peeling plaster and signs of extreme moisture damage around windows and walls. It’s heartbreaking to see a space left in such disrepair.
This hostel should not be allowed to continue hosting guests under these conditions. I am extremely disappointed and urge others to reconsider staying here until significant improvements are made.
- George (9/5): Superb -
- 杨 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ranielle (10/5): Exceptional - Everyone was super nice! They did make sure to help me and they even allowed me to check in earlier!
It's a nice place in a very nice part of the city.
- Irfan (5/5): Passable -
- Dmitry (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sébastien (10/5): Exceptional - I like the location and simplicity of the place and the host who was welcoming and friendly. It was sort of private place and genuine people, the only problem that we had no much time. Maybe we come back again for a longer stay in the winter. Thanks, Ahmed and Osama. We regret that we had a short stay only for 1 night, because we had a flight next day.
- Alexandru (10/5): Exceptional - Really affordable compared to Istanbul and the central location, not perfect but we are able to rest to go early and do our tour. We had a crazy discount for longer stay. Thanks Ahmed for the nice offer.
- Abdulrauf (7/5): Good -
- Pedro (10/5): Exceptional - I enjoyed the stay. It was good location and so affordable, longer stays are even super budget friendly, the host is helpful. I recommend.
- Сергей (9/5): Superb -
- ボタン (10/5): Exceptional -
- Philip (3/5): Dirty, disappointing and devious - Communication before arriving at the property was good We asked if a 2/3am check-in was possible, we were assured it was no problem. I contacted the property the du before we were due to arrive and was told no problem and given the number of the person who would let us in.
When we arrived at 3am we called - no answer. We continued to do this for 30 minutes until the door was finally opened.
A dirty rolled up sock greeted us along with abandoned shoes and a nasty odour. We went up the creaking stairs and its stained carpet to a small room that was filthy.
We were asked to pay in euros which we did, only to find out that our booking had been ‘cancelled’ the following day (I assume to avoid the fees)
An extremely disappointing stay and an unpleasant first night in Istanbul
- Teemu (10/5): Vibes and price to value. - The host was friendly and respectful, I stayed already in his other house then he surprised me with his generosity. He prepares great food and is very thoughtful and helpful, he showed me all other houses and better locations and let me freely pick my choise without getting bored or rush. After hosting me in his own house I decided to stay in this room. The nice guests and atmosphere made me feel safe in both places. The area is vibrant and centrally located.
- Matthieu (8/5): Very good - Nice and basic place but all the minimum required inside !
The place benefit of a good situation, nice restaurants, cafés and a nice neighbourhood life around!
Ahmed the owner is nice and has always been accommodating with us.
- Albert (8/5): Very good - Location was very nice, close enough to the center, but far enough to see neighborhood and people's daily life. Also I appreciate the very warm welcome. The building was a bit old, so noisy around the walls. Solved with some earplugs, and also keeping in mind the price.
- Valon (5/5): Passable -
- Omarcho (3/5): Poor -
- Amir (1/5): Bad - Nothing Staff was not there and rude
- Yauheniy (10/5): Exceptional -
