• Julie (10/5): A wonderful home for a family or friends. - The house was amazing....4 king bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, so much space, a gourmet kitchen, and a beautiful outlook onto the park. Only a short 2kms from the Vintage Golf Club. Great facilities and amenities. Some tissues in the bathroom would be great.

• Sylvia (7/5): Pleasant location, but the house lacked the comforts of home - We had booked Amaroo Lodge, but because the air conditioning system was not operating, we were moved to Hunter Valley Lodge. This house was quite big and accommodated our group of 5 guests in 3 self-contained bedrooms. The location was good, and the setting the house sat within was lovely - the golf course, restaurant, bistro/cafe. There were other facilities too. We only used the bistro/ cafe for our morning coffees. It would be nice to use the other facilities were we to return. The heating was very poor. Warm air only went up to the upstairs areas. Downstairs, it was constantly uncomfortably cold. Even the gas fireplace didn't heat up the area it was located in. It was difficult to light and was purely aesthetic, not functional. The house amenities were quite basic and limited, eg only 2 frypans. The pantry had very few supplies - no salt, no oil, no butter, no plastic or foil wraps, no BBQ lighter (specified in the house manual). NB Canola is not good oil. The bedroom we were in had a single sized thin doona as a spare and a thin throw. It was very cold, and the 'extra bedding' was not adequate. The pillows were either memory pillows, which were hard or pillows that were very soft and not supportive. I own and manage a guesthouse, and my guests want for nothing. They often tell me that it's like coming home - warm, comfortable, inviting, and supportive of guests' needs.
