Guest Reviews
- Joel (8/5): Very good -
- Ebony (5/5): Passable - The inside of the tiny house was aesthetic and the directions sent by the host were easy to follow The landscaping of this property looks nothing like that on the pictures. The grass is terribly overgrown, there’s rubbish/miscellaneous items left all over the property (random broken buckets etc.) and the fridge and toilet of the property were incredibly smelly from entry. The odour was very off putting and we were not able to be in the cabin immediately after opening them. The fire pit wasn’t clean and was left very wet, with no shovel at the property for us to clean this out, meaning we couldn’t have a fire on the second night (the entire appeal of the tiny house). The utensils and general equipment at the site made it hard to cook a meal, despite advertising cooking amenities. The seating is also very hard to sit on so probably best to bring a camp chair or a cushion with you.
- Ulrike (8/5): Beautiful Venue - Super Comfy bed - with some outdoor maintance needed - Amazing views - gorgeous sitting outside at dusk with a fire.
Bed was super comfy and tiny home was lovely. The property itself looks very uncared for though - weeds/overgrown/rubbish/container next to outdoor area
The tiny home itself needs a good clean -dusty
- Steve (7/5): Good - Very small. Debri all around the cabin. Toilet not helpful. Comfortable but it is very small. Great location.
- Valiree (4/5): While we’ve loved Tiny Away in the past, this stay left us disappointed due to poor maintenance and a lack of attention - Just the view. My partner and I are big fans of Tiny Away. For the past 2 years, it has been our go-to destination for year-end getaways and quick escapes from the city. While the view was beautiful, we were disappointed by the lack of proper maintenance by the hosts.
When we arrived, the place felt abandoned—dusty and somewhat rusty, completely different from the photos we had seen online. We even had to sweep the dry leaves off the front area ourselves and wipe down the chairs before we could sit. The utensils were incomplete, the cupboards and appliances were dusty, and the sheets were stained. The only positive was the air conditioning. The compost toilet wasn’t flushing properly, and there was no water pressure. We contacted the hosts for help, but they were overseas and couldn’t assist as they didn’t understand the issue.
What upset us even more was when the host suggested that if the toilet wasn’t working, we could use the public restroom at the old airport nearby (a 2-minute drive away). We couldn’t imagine doing that for a 3-day, 2-night stay. Left with no other choice, we had to resolve the issue ourselves. My partner ended up checking under the tinyhouse and discovered that the water valve had been closed.
Additionally, unlike other Tiny Away properties we’ve stayed at, this one didn’t have a BBQ grill. We were told we could only use the firepit (with firewood available for an extra $25), but it was so rusty that it wasn’t a viable option.
We just hope the hosts don’t view this solely as a money-making venture but instead put effort and care into maintaining these properties. After all, people book and spend their hard-earned money to relax, create wonderful memories, and enjoy a truly special experience.
- Bradley (8/5): Very good -
- Jack (9/5): Superb -
- Neda (10/5): Very cozy! A lovely little hidden gem. - Everything. Such a cute little hideaway. Very cozy and calming. Everything was great
- Alysse (8/5): Beautiful tiny home, perfect for a weekend escape - The Happy Nest is a beautiful escape from the big city. The hosts were lovely and very helpful, organized fire wood for us and responded quickly to any questions. The place is a short 2km walk to the local tavern which had amazing food lovely staff. The house was perfect for a weekend get away with our doggo. He loved sniffing around and sitting by the fire with us.
As mentioned by another reviewer the toilet didn’t have much flush. We just poured some water down and it worked perfect. Shower had plenty of hot water and good pressure.
Would highly recommend Happy Nest for a getaway.
Thanks so much Ming and Ninh for allowing us to stay in your beautiful Tiny Home. Nothing, everything was perfect.
- Todd (8/5): Very good - The peace and quiet There were a few stains on the sheets
- Y (3/5): Great place with so much potential in its place - We liked the view but grass was overgrown and could not see much from the deck. Fire pit was really nice and shower was comfortable as well as bed. No wifi and toilet water pressure was almost next to nothing so we could not do big business in a toilet. Few places including under the bed was quite a mess even thought they charge you 50 for cleaning purposes. Grass was overgrown pretty much everywhere within this property and I could have been so much better with it but we realized some of it it’s coming out of gravel so it is hard to mow. And we also realized there was decent sized wasps nest just outside of cabin under the A/C unit. It would not be safe to see them right next to seating area.
