- Lauren (10/5): - The cottage and garden were so lovely, we spent most of our time hanging out, drinking tea and just enjoying the cottage. There was fresh bread, butter, milk and oats for an easy breakfast.

- Guest (8/5): -
- Carol (10/5): It exceeded every expectation - Charmingly old -worldly but with every mod-con
Peaceful and relaxing ambience
- Nicola (8/5): Handy location, well serviced and a step back in time for the curious, - Spacious, clean and well-equipped. My friend loved the quirky items from days gone by.
Whereas minimalists like me may find it too eclectic rather than rustic.
- Kylie (10/5): - Gorgeous homely cottage, well equipped with everything you need . Lovely presented interior and beautifully decorated. Would definitely stay there again.
- Jamie (10/5): Exceptional - Tidy. Pillow.
- Tenille (9/5): Superb - Loved the collective Rustic vibe of the cottage. Kitchen had everything we needed. Bathrooms and bedrooms were beautiful and clean. Fireplace made for a relaxing and warm June weekend. Being across the road from the Hotel. The people were very rowdy as left (talking on the street and revving their cars). Saturday night the music was very loud.
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Heidi (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely cottage that has been tastefully renovated.
Very impressed with the welcome provisions.
- Meg (9/5): Superb -
- Timcahill87 (10/5): Exceptional - Very neat cottage. Very tidy with heaps of history. Lovely rooms.
- Melissa (9/5): Superb -
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional cottage in a great location - The cottage was beautiful we especially loved the beautifully appointed bathrooms and amazing bath tub.
Everywhere you looked there was an interesting item to check out
The gardens with little nooks everywhere
The fireplace, vinyl and games.
Just perfect There was nothing that could be improved
- Alexander (10/5): A most memorable and exquisite experience. Loved every millisecond at your cottage - It’s absolutely magnificent. We didn’t want to leave. You didn’t spare any expenses in making this place appear rustic yet with modern features. It’s an art to compliment antique and modern. You’ve achieved this with this most delightful cottage. Loved the stove. The lights. The record player. Simply everything Absolutely nothing.
- Matthew (10/5): Excellent 2 night stay - can't recommend highly enough. - Location was very close to town, 2 minute walk to coffee shops, bakeries etc. Very well renovated with modern touches to a heritage cottage so it keeps its rustic harm. Owners/Managers were always available by text or phone to answer any questions.
Overall I was really impressed and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and recommend to others. None.
- Andrew (9/5): Superb -
- Patricia (10/5): Beautiful home - The cottage was super- clean and comfortable. We felt we were staying in someone's much loved home and enjoyed viewing all the artefacts, paintings and history of the house. It was only a minute's walk from the shops and cafe and provided a lovely stay for short break. The location close to a busy road meant it was a tad noisy late afternoons and early mornings.
- Mark (10/5): Highly recommended and value for money - We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Canungra. This cottage is very nice and in a convenient place. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.
- Barry (8/5): Convenient spot to stay while celebrating our grand daughter’s 21st birthday . My sister and I have been encouraged to s - Absolutely beautiful cottage , lots of lovely inclusions , lots of reminiscing was done about items in the house . This has also to be the best provisioned stay we’ve ever had .Other family members were staying along the street and they were quite jealous . While we were having a meal at the pub our grandchildren sent a message telling us there was a huge snake across the driveway (no 6 ) when we found it up in the next tree it was a massive python ( obviously lived somewhere close by and he /she was huge - between 3-4 metres and he/she must had just had a feed -hopefully no one’s pet,!!!! ) so a bit of nature for the kids to see and comment on . We didn’t follow its travels so hopefully it’s safe and sound !!. Lovely gardens ,easy care , practical ,clever pathways . This has given us many ideas to bring home . Loved the native bees in their little house just gorgeous . Our daughter in law has Dutch heritage so lots of ideas there as well , just when we thought we’d seen everything in the house something else seemed to pop up ; i.e Lady Flos cookery book , just wonderful to look through . Even though it was stated there was a car park out the front there definitely wasn’t , cars parked there nearly all the time - from pub patrons and visitors to the town , we had to leave the car when we got a spot out there and our daughter had to pick us up if we needed to go anywhere . So allocated parking would be a great addition .
- Greg (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrice (10/5): Will definitely be booking again. - This was such a cute rustic cottage. From the antique trinkets, to the modern styling. We wish we could have stayed longer!
- Elizabeth (9/5): The place to stay for a break on the Scenic Rim. - The property was gorgeous and the architectural design was so well executed.
The good thing about the location is also, unfortunately, a bit of a negative. The proximity to the hotel is good for socialising but not so good for the noise from patrons leaving late at night.
- Milton (10/5): Perfect home stay, it was very comfortable and beautiful. - The property is very modern, clean and the little details provided by the caretakers made the stay very enjoyable and memorable. Loved every inch of the home. LOVE the kitchen.
- Jennifer (10/5): You have to try this lovely cottage ... and the village of Canungra. - It is a beautifully renovated and surprisingly spacious cottage that is presented in pristine condition.. Set in a lovely cottage garden full of interesting artefacts. The owners have decorated the home with vintage and antique memoriabillia, which brings back a few memories for those of us of an older era!
My daughter and I wanted to move in!!
We appreciated the extras like nice coffee to welcome us.
We highly recommend this accommodation.
Canungra is a lovely village that I am familiar with, but it just gets better with age.
The local Hotel serves very nice meals and is just across the road. There is a Japanese restaurant with take away that appears popular and several venues for coffee. A minor discomfort was the mattress in the second bedroom.. but maybe that was just me,
- Denise (10/5): Very lovely property, loved the story behind the property, had everything and more - Wished we stayed longer, there was soo much to see and do at this property, was like a mini museum, was so much fun looking back in time but all the luxuries of modern luxeries. Would def come again and highly recommend. Especially for a special occasion. Nothing wrong, liked everything about this property.
- Sue (10/5): Would go back for another visit in a heartbeat ❤️ - This little cottage is the cutest and most quirky place we have stayed. The facilities were extremely clean, beds were comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the endless array of trinkets a feast for the senses. Nothing
- Helen (9/5): Superb - Lovely clean renovated rustic cottage with many quirky items throughout. The cottage has a fully equipped modern kitchen , washer and dryer. The breakfast package, Tim tams and savoury snacks left by the host were a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again. We arrived on a Sunday so finding parking close to the cottage was a little difficult due to visitors in the area. There is no onsite parking.
- Heather (9/5): Superb -
- Paula (10/5): Very enjoyable and relaxing - Having everything that we needed when we arrived especially having milk in the fridge, bread for our use and all the additional things. There were many surprises once entering the cottage. Only thing I was unaware of was there was no covered parking on the property it was outside and if its a busy night at the pub across the road is difficult to get a park, we were fortunate enough to park at the library tourist information centre until morning.
- Emma (10/5): After over 6 years, 5 kids between us my bestie and I finally got our Mummies weekend away and it was absolutely perfect - Such a beautiful property! The owners have really thought about everything to make it such a relaxing and homey stay! Cannot wait to return! We had to go home!
- Trevor (8/5): We had a very enjoyable and pleasant stay - The breakfast was very good with lots of choice and the location was excellent. Being opposite a hotel, parking was a problem some of the time
- Susan (10/5): My mother and brother stayed at the cottage and loved it so much they wanted to move there! -
- Gee (10/5): Exceptional - There were so many beautiful and thoughtful special touches from the artwork on the walls, an assortment of cereal and fresh bread and butter to herbs in the garden to use in cooking. This truly is a hidden treasure from the minute we opened the front door. The decor was a delight, the beds were comfortable with pretty linen, and both bathrooms were clean, attractive, and spacious. I will be back
- Samara (10/5): Just perfect - The history of the home, the gardens, its was just delightful.
- Tracey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Russell (8/5): Very good -
- Joanne (10/5): Relaxing in Canungra - The House and Gardens are magical and instantly relaxed us. We felt welcomed from the moment we walked through the gate. The extra touches of snacks, bread, butter, and milk were very appreciated. We loved being able to play records and relax on the patio. Knowing now the excellent kitchen appliances on our next visit, we will plan to cook up a feast. Being within walking distance to shops, cafes, and the pub was a delightful way to get to experience the community vibe. Highly recommend.
- Glen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Aron (10/5): Exceptional - Clean
The old style
Lay out
Location Nothing
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Jennifer (8/5): Great - Loved the fireplace inside and the fire pit outside
The kitchen was lovely and the falcon oven fabulous!
It was a very cosy inviting cottage that my family and I could relax in over the weekend
- Chris (10/5): Fabulous and we will surely return. - We just loved this place. Way above expectations. Loved the bread and butter left for us. Could not believe the quality of the kitchen and contents. Very, very comfortable. Actually, we brought in a small Chinese group who were standing outside to show them some things of "old" Australia. They were thrilled. We kept on finding hidden gems right up until we were leaving and know there would be lots of things we haven't discovered about Rustic Cottage. Loved it!! Thanks Chris & Gordon Nothing that we could see
- Peter (9/5): It was great to read the history of the property and Canungra. We loved the fireplace and ambiance . - It was a beautiful stay, with great facilities. The bed and pillows were okay but it’s really lovely to have a deluxe bed with pillow top and really comfortable pillows. Having said that the bed wasn’t uncomfortable.
- Greg (10/5): Excellent and lux. - Beautifully appointed. Everything you could possibly need. So very comfortable and roomy. Walking distance to shops and across from the pub. Breakfast and snack provisions were plentiful.
- Karen (10/5): Amazing stay, spotlessly clean, great location and every possible need met. We loved it!! -
- Mark (9/5): Fantastic stay, great location to explore the scenic rim - Beautiful cottage, much bigger than it appears in photographs. The Canungra pub is just across the road for a terrific feed. Wood fire warmed the place up a treat . Lovely bathrooms and kitchen. The ensuite was lovely but was designed without a door screening the toilet from the bed , not a fan! Gas bottle ran out mid Barbecue. Both minor niggles , overall excellent
- Sophie (8/5): Over all we had a good time and would come back sometime this year - The house decorations & the kitchen were wonderful. It has everything you would need;
Love the coffee & the coffee machine. The front yard was a little muddy when there was raining. Especially there was a heavy rain in Saturday evening during my stay.
- Lynne (10/5): Beautiful, stylish and very clean cottage. We made some amazing memories. Felt like home. - The house was styled beautifully, spotless and very comfortable. The hosts thought of absolutely everything ie coffee pods, fresh bread, snacks, all the utensils you could ever want. This cottage is most definitely a little gem Nothing
- Anthony (9/5): Great home for a unwind thank you - Breakfast on offer ticked all the boxes with a range of spreads for toast and cereal
Plenty of tea , coffee and biscuits but maybe a bit more sugar
Location was fantastic Unfortunately we had no hot water on the Sunday morning making showers very brisk
Thankfully this was fixed quickly and was back on by afternoon
- Gavin (10/5): Amazing. Highly recommend the Rustic Cottage. - Oh WOW!!! This cottage was amazing. Beautifully presented. Gorgeous inside and out.
Handy to cafes and shops.
The hosts thought of everything from the extensive record collection to packets of cereal and bread and butter for breakfast.
Highly recommend the Rustic Cottage.
11* My stay could have been longer!!!
- Stephanie (10/5): Beautiful unique stay! - The house is stunning......everything is perfect, comfortable, eclectic and quirky. Wandering through the house and beautiful garden is a tour of discovery. All the extras are superb....loaf of bread, breakfast cereals, snacks and some chocolates. There is an excellent coffee machine and great tea selection. It is a delightful and unique experience. The location is superb but is in a busy spot but not too noisy. Once inside it is fine.
- Tammie (10/5): Absolutely Wonderful. Loved all the personal touches. Will definitely be staying again. -
- Gavin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kerrie (9/5): Superb -
- Sacha (10/5): Amazing, beautiful, full of charm and character. Exceptional hosts, so thoughtful. - What a beautiful cottage. The hosts have put so much thought into the guests stay with many little touches. Fresh sourdough loaf waiting with real butter :), plenty of choices for tea and coffee(fancy coffee maker), and some snacks for a weary traveller. There was everything you needed in the kitchen to get you started (milk, oil, sauces, spices, S/P). The cottage was exceptionally clean and well thought out. Bathrooms included toiletries and even a make-up removal 'specific' towel/washer. The bath in the main bathroom was very much appreciated by fellow traveller after a long bush walk, suds were supplied. Beautiful wood heater and wood supplied for your first nights stay included. Very comfortable beds. The furnishings were just amazing and everywhere you looked there was another story or trinket that caught your attention. The gardens looked amazing and the history about the cottage that was provided was a wonderful read. Would definitely stay again but for longer next time. Ill be telling everyone I meet about the Rustic Cottage Canungra. Unfortunately my commitments meant I had to leave without getting to fully appreciate all the work the hosts have put in to this place.
