Guest Reviews
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (10/5): Exceptional - The host was super helpful. The unit was large and spacious.
- Chris (8/5): Very good -
- Peta (9/5): Excellent Location, expansive place, should meet all your needs. - This apartment was in an excellent location with paid parking available in multiple different areas close to us. Across the road was the Star Casino however the noise from the foot and car traffic did not disturb us. The bedroom up the back was nice and had a small ensuite if required. The lounge room was well equipped and had streaming services available after a long day walking around. If it is raining the bathroom is damp and remains damp, which is understandable noting the age of the building. We didn't have any issues with it as we just continually washed and dried the supplied towels.
- Alesandra (10/5): Great loaction, easy access, more spacious than looks in photos. Would def stay again - Greta location. Very spacious. Clean. I like how the room is detached and private from living area.
- Ernel (7/5): Good -
- Anthony (8/5): Clean close and affordable - The history the structure the location very closely and quant The fold out bed was very uncomfortable
- Di (7/5): Good -
- Jenna (7/5): Good - Great location Floor was very slippery and tv in main bedroom wasn’t working
- Ellen (8/5): Very good - Great location if attending lyric theatre. Close to light rail, darling harbour and lots of food options.
- Donna (8/5): Perfect location on Pyrmont - Great location
House had all basic needs
Comfy bed
Helpful hosts The person sleeping on the sofa bed found it very noisey at night, it is in the city so you would expect noise, the hotel across the road has a casino so lots of late night noise on the street. Just something to be aware of
the back bedroom was quieter
- Kim (9/5): Perfect for our needs and fabulous location - The location was excellent. I was a little apprehensive after reading some reviews but did not see or experience what other people had found to be negative. The Wifi and Netflix worked, the a/c in the bedroom worked perfectly, I didn’t see any cockroaches, there was no neon light shining in the lounge room and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. The children slept on the sofa bed and said it was very comfortable. Must have been, they slept in 😂. The only thing I would suggest is a box of tissues somewhere.
- Broden (8/5): Very good -
- Katherine (7/5): The location is amazing but the unit could do with an overhaul to make it more comfortable. - The location was brilliant, coffee machine was a nice touch & the kitchen was well equipped The unit had an awful smell to it, I'm not sure whether it's the stone wall or what?
The bedroom is detached from the main residence which made it tricky for my two young daughters who didn't want to sleep alone.
The tiled floor wasn't nice to walk on barefoot.
No soap in vanity areas. No hand towel.
wifi didn't work.
- Stephen (6/5): Location made up for average rooms - Location was very fantastic. You will pay $'s for parking nearby though. Aircon/ Tea/coffee facilities good. main Shower leaked all over floor. No batteries for remotes. Broken floor tiles in main area were dangerous. Very noisy traffic as on main street for those sleeping in main part of house and the street sweepers start early. Outdoor area very dirty with leaves - needs a good sweep.
- Sue (7/5): Overall we enjoyed our stay - No breakfast, but great location Because there was 2 ladies and there was 2 bathrooms but 1 was not usable as a plumbing problem and there was a big crack in the tiles in the dining room area.
The wifi didn't work aswell.
- Suzanne (8/5): Owner was very communicative & listened to my concerns - Location, comfortable, communication with owner was good Mould in bottom shower . Cracked floor tiles . Exhaust fan couldn’t be turned on in upper bathroom as plug didn’t reach wall socket , broken front blind. (( owner contacted & is taking immediate action))
- Susan (5/5): I would not come back and would not recommend it. - No love in the property miss match the cushions still had their prices on it and there is a hole in the floor in the lounge room Wasn’t user friendly too many steps and should be highlighted in the condition of property
The sheets were dirty and mould in the shower
- Graeme (3/5): Unpleasant stay in good location. - Location is good Damp, inflexible host, privacy issues/concerns.
- Nathan (7/5): Great property location, info and pics lacked a little on information whilst booking. Owners were great and checked in v - Property location was amazing, very close walking distance to bridge/port and shop's +restaurants Main bedroom is actually separate to lounge so I'd have young children you will have to sleep with 2 doors closed between you and a small outdoor area which wasn't ideal.
- Terry (9/5): Superb - A 1 bedroom unit detached at the back of the main living area.
Cosy, spacious and within 15 minutes walking of everything you would like to do.
- Brad (8/5): Whilst busy all day the property was a short walk from the ICC and close to numerous eating spots. - Historical Sydney property within an old part of inner city with excellent adjacency to the ICC where we were attending a wholesale only exhibition There were 2 broken floor tiles.
- Michael (7/5): Good - Good sized, comfortable appartment near Darling Harbour. Fairly central. You can walk to a lot of places. Outdoor dining space. Strangely impersonal contact with host. Didn't introduce him/herself. Don't even know his/her name.
Pyrmont is not that handy for public transport as it's on the light rail network so you have to change, but fine if you don't mind walking.
No Wi-Fi access for 3/4 of our stay. Kitchen counter a bit small.
- Marina (10/5): Amazing. It was a bonous that we got to stay in an amazing piece of Sydney’s history. - The host was very helpful and accommodating.
- Louise (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nicole (10/5): Exceptional - Location is great A little tired
- Dinesh (4/5): Disappointing -
- Jessica (10/5): Great location in a unique setting - Unique, great location Nothing
- Claire (5/5): Location was excellent for where we needed to be, but… - Location, close to where we needed to be. Friendly hosts via messages. Easy to get keys/communication. Close to cafes, casino, theatre, Coles So at first I thought the other reviews were a bit exaggerated, and I wasn’t going to leave a review, the unit was clean and tidy upon arrival, cute even.
We had 2 hours before our show started so the kids wanted to watch Netflix (as outlined in welcome booklet) no wifi. QR code for wifi didn’t work and couldn’t locate network on phones.
I went up to the top room to see if kids could safely stay up there (locks ok etc:) and the smell of sewerage wafts in the room when you enter and doesn’t go away. My teenagers left the aircon on to circulate air, but then it dripped water constantly onto the tiles.
The neon exit light is way too bright and the sofa bed is hard as a rock, so no sleep either way.
The shower leaks, even though we didn’t use it, and covers the area where you sit on the toilet.
Counted about 10 insect baits but still baby cockroaches in the bedroom.
- Katey (4/5): Great location, cool building, sickening stench of sewerage throughout - The old sandstone building was nice The whole place reeked of sewerage, the WiFi password didn't work, there was no milk for a cup of tea, there was no conditioner, there was only one thin blanket on the bed and I was cold, there was a mysterious red/ brown glob of slime on the kitchen tiles, the main shower leaked on the bathroom floor and there was mould in the bathroom.
- Natalie (3/5): Disappointed. Wouldn’t have stayed there with children if I knew the bedroom was separate, walking outside to get access - Location The seperate bedroom, you had to walk outside to get too. The air conditioner didn’t work in the bedroom and it was damp and smelled.
- Mattia (2/5): Very disappointing - The location is really good and convenient Everything else. The place was dirty when we checked in and we slept the first night in the dirty apartment until the next day somebody came to give an extremely basic clean. We found dead and alive cockroaches around the place. Shower was leaking and flooded the whole bathroom, bad plumbing smell, very noisy at night, the cord to connect the bathroom fan was not long enough to reach the power point so the exhaust fan couldn’t work. Wifi not present, later on we discovered there is no modem present.
- Arijit (9/5): Superb -
- Brett (7/5): Good -
- Ann (7/5): Great location and good facilities- check AC in main bedroom has been fixed otherwise room unusable! - Location was excellent- central but quiet. Kitchen very well equipped, large fridge ( no starter milk but supermarket nearby) washing machine/ dryer, cafes and shops nearby. Good AC in living area. AC in bedroom not working- just blowing hot air. Had been reported in review a week prior but managers still asked for a video etc of it and seemed not to be aware of it. When it is hot the room is unusable as no windows that open and no fan. We slept on sofa bed in lounge ( which was ok) but after a few nights on a boat were looking forward to a more comfortable bed! There is a green exit light in lounge that is quite bright- reported by other guests as well. Managers are generally responsive and very good at apologising but really need to attend to AC and light for their guests ( take note of reviews rather than automated replies)
- Niki (10/5): Loved it! - fabulous position and groovy yet practice outlay made for a perfect stay!
- Mark (7/5): Good location, good communication , convenient , comfortable - Location Street noise at night in front room
- Camille (5/5): Passable - Cleaner was still there in the afternoon
- Ben (9/5): Great - Proximity, hosts were excellent at communication and very helpful Air con in room didn’t work. But the hosts had a second bed in the lounge to use
- Jenni (10/5): Perfect location, hosts a great communicators - Location location location! Plus everything you need to self cater if you want, or close to restaurants and cafes if you don’t. Spacious living area and the world’s comfiest bed in its own sanctuary just out the back door. The cleaner must have used something on the tiles that didn’t feel nice on bare feet. But maybe that’s a sensory thing for me.
- Sue (4/5): Overall dissappointing, it could be a great place with a bit more attention to detail. - Location is great I am having to fight for my refund when I modified my booking during the “free cancellation period”. We could not access the wifi. No sheets for the sofa bed. Patio not clean. Lots of DIY modifications, couldn't open kitchen drawer due to position of power point, exhaust fan in upper bathroom can't be plugged in as the cord won't reach, no handle on the inside of the bathroom. Neon sign in main room meant it was difficult to sleep for the person on the sofa bed. If this business cannot refund people they should not continue to book guests.
- Christian (10/5): The location is unbeatable - I had a fantastic stay at this charming one-bedroom house in the heart of Pyrmont. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and convenience! The place is well-equipped with everything you could need. Plus, I loved the thoughtful extras like the iron, hairdryer, and even a toaster for a quick breakfast.
- Douglas (8/5): Very good - Good size
- Claudia (5/5): Very convenient location to watch a show in the Lyric theatre, well priced. If you don’t have back problems you may be o - Close to the Star and Lyric Theatre. Espresso coffee machine, washing machine, spacious room, well priced The bed is a pull out sofa that is not comfortable. You have to make the bed up yourself. The pillow case and towels had stains but to be fair, someone came over later with new ones. We couldn’t turn off the split system, it kept coming on all night on “heating”despite our best efforts. There was a neon exit sign over the door that couldn’t be turned off and lit the room up all night. The basin in the bathroom was extremely tiny, had to wash my face in the kitchen, and it didn’t drain properly. The shower was extremely slippery and the taps difficult to turn off. No milk in the fridge for coffee.
- Rosegold123 (4/5): Disappointing. - Excellent location, so close to cafes and tourist areas. It looks run down, not cared for properly. We didn't use the kitchen, the power point is hanging off the wall, with wires exposed. The property needs a good spruce up, it has a lot of potential. It's a beautiful old building and it is not looking its best.
- Dewi (9/5): excellent stay - near from coles, a lot of place to eat, in front of the street so makes easy to going everywhere. the bed rooms were very estetik with one bed comfy. nearest from icc sydney, 10 minutes walk we didn't find to dry the laundry outdoor.
- Kristy (8/5): Easy, central location. - Very convenient location and easy check-in Main bedroom is a separate building from kitchen and lounge:
- Jacqueline (5/5): Great location but not worth the money for the lack of cleanliness!!! - Location There was obvious signs that the floor had not been cleaned at all (see photos) and there was a wall socket not in the wall (see photo) Very unhappy with the lack of cleanliness.
- Brett (9/5): Superb - Great location. Went to a show a the Lyric theatre, directly across the road. Good proximity to Darling Harbour too.
- Neil (9/5): The location was perfect. The house met all our needs. Would definitely stay here again. - The location was excellent. Close to all amenities. Coffee shops and breakfast 2 minutes away. Star Casino just across the road, a few minutes walk. Easy to walk to light rail at Star, and also an easy walk to catch the ferry at Pyrmont Bay. Coles just a short walk away. We found the location was perfect. Everything you need is in the house. All appliances, crockery, etc. We came to Sydney to watch our son run in the Marathon, and what we didn't realize when we booked was that the marathon course ran straight past the front door. We were able to walk outside and watch him run past, then walk to Barangaroo to catch the ferry to Circular Quay to watch him finish. Amazing!!! The first thing we saw when we entered to drop off our luggage at 11.30a was a dead cockroach on the floor. Not a major problem, but it was still there when we came back to check in around 4pm. There was also a used bar of soap on the floor of the upstairs shower left from the previous occupant. These are only little things, but they should be a stand-out from a cleaning perspective.
There is a power-point hanging off the wall in the kitchen, with wires easily accessible. If there were children staying, this would be dangerous to leave like that, as children are notoriously curious. One of the down-lights in the upstairs bedroom is constantly flickering. We enjoyed our stay here and would definitely stay at these premises again the next time we travel to Sydney.
- Maria (10/5): Exceptional - Location was perfect. Bright EXIT sign located near the front door was annoyingly too bright and not easy to sleep in that room.
- Anthon (8/5): Very good -
- Ramon (10/5): Highly Recommended - We enjoyed our short stay in this apartment. Convenient and pretty house. The owner of the house was very responsive and attentive to our concerns even before our arrival date. The house was very clean and tidy when we arrived. Check-in was easy too because instructions were sent in advance and was very detailed.
- Felix (10/5): The rental price was reasonable. We liked our stay here, we were satisfied with what we got - Modern apartment. Very nice interior design and super comfortable mattress. The house was clean and spacious. The rental price was reasonable. We liked our stay here, we were satisfied with what we got.
- Caroline (9/5): Loved the connection to Sydney History - I loved the old building converted into a moderm apartment. It was super clean and large. It had a great vibe and was in a fantastic location. I loved the history of the building. Earlier check in
- Justin (8/5): Very well located and presented stay that is great value for money. - Great location, convenient with 2 bathrooms, washing machine is handy. Aesthetically pleasing inside and out. Lower level bathroom shower head was flimsy.
A weird smell upon arrival that persisted during stay - similar to that of a cat smell but unsure (no sign of cats or pets within property)
- Marcelina (10/5): Reasonable rental price. Functional amenities included. Convenient. - Reasonable rental price. Functional amenities included. Convenient.
- Warwick (4/5): A disappointing stay for us - No breakfast Lack of extra blankets, pillows, bath and shower mats, no exhaust fan , no instructions on facilities, no brochures etc. We are of the older age group. The plumbing problem affected our only spare day in our itinerary as we couldn’t leave the house open for the plumber.
- Heather (8/5): Comfortable and unique accommodation in a very handy spot! Thank you. - Amazing location! We had a function at The Star, then breakfast was a breeze with cafe several meters from the front door before a short walk to the aquarium.
Very cool interior and very comfortable mattress. Pillows were uncomfortable and didn’t have any success connecting to wifi.
- Sue (8/5): Very good - Location was excellent and property very comfortable
- Steven (8/5): Excellent -
- Leane (6/5): Pleasant - Location was brilliant. Bit confusing. Seems like there are 2 doors to 93. I was told lockbox was on the left of the door but when that didn't work, tried the other door where the lock box was on the right! Bingo! Couldn't find the bedroom. Didn't realise it was outside and up a few steps. Smelt like septic and there were a couple of cockroaches. Went to Coles and bought air freshener, crawling insect spray (which I was offered an apology and reimbursement for) and tissues. Neither of us slept. Bed uncomfortable but so was the sofa where I ended up. Thankfully there was a sheet and doona to use. Quirky and unique. This place could be so much more! I would be happy to pay more if the bed was comfortable and there were a few small luxuries included like tissues. Was clean and warm and directly across from the STAR. Also, getting there by public transport was a breeze
- Hull (9/5): Great location for what we needed - Location
- Erisa (10/5): Great apartment - It was a comfortable short stay. My partner and I liked this place. We would stay again when we're back in Sydney.
- Amelia (10/5): it is a pretty place that is very spacious. will book it again!!! - it is a pretty place that is very spacious. great location - it is close to ferry and train. would book again

Location great Would have liked milk and teabags

- Rory (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nneoma (10/5): Exceptional - Super short stay but my partner and I enjoyed our time in this place. Highly recommended for everyone!
- John (10/5): Exceptional - No complaints. Beautiful house, everything was clean and tidy. Highly recommended
- Jenni (7/5): Location in centre of Pyrmont was fabulous. - Location was superb. Proximity to ferry and light rail was excellent. Directly opposite Star Casino. Lack of information provided for occupants. No coffee machine!
- Marty (8/5): Would stay again. - Great location. Good facilities. Quirky layout but a historical building. We had read two recent reviews which weren’t favourable so we’re worried what we would find but the accomodation was great. It was also great value for money on a long weekend. Wasn’t aware that the main bedroom is outside of the main room through a courtyard. This was a minor issue with small kids as the pull out sofa is in the main room.
- Andrew (4/5): It was an adventure. - Location was great. Was a pretty place. Was unclean when we arrived. Power point In kitchen was hanging out the wall. Has an unannounced fire system inspection the next morning. Water in Shower in main bathroom would not turn off so had to turn water off at mains. This affected others in other unit.
Lastly found quite a few baby cockroaches running around the bedroom.
- Rajiv (3/5): Poor - Location was good. The room in the back has mould and a bug problem. We couldn't sleep in it. The shower cabin leaks and flooded the bathroom. The dishwasher didn't work. A huge neon exit sign placed inside the room made sleep difficult.
- Trent (7/5): Good - Close to casino , right across the road, bathroom shower taps were abit tricky to work out. good price and great location, couch was comfy to sleep on would stay again.
- Jemaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Maximiliano (10/5): New property in the center of town -
- Senn (10/5): Fresh and Modern - Stayed a night following a nearby party. Really impressed with the standard of the house, which is still quite new and fresh.
- Marie (10/5): Would Deff recommend this place to stay - Was perfect Hot tap in first shower was hard to turn off but we got it in the end
- Callum (10/5): Quality - I stayed with my husband in a room - queen bed. The room was extremely spacious by comparison to other hotels. The beds were firm but comfortable. The bathroom was big enough (no tub) but special mention to the large shower head & good water pressure!
- Kim (9/5): Superb -
- Polina (10/5): Simple and comfy - Everything was clean the room very modern. Great location, service was ok. Room is spacious, the bed was OK.
Otherwise in general was great experience. not much natural light
- Chloe (10/5): Phenomenal space and location! - This charming apartment has everything. It's beautiful, well equipped and in an unbeatable location. I had to work a bit during the trip and it was a relief to be able to handle conference calls with ease and from the comfort of “home” with smooth wifi.
The property manager, Brice, was very responsive and helpful. We loved this hotel and would definitely stay here again! NONE
