• Heather (10/5): Historic and comfortable - I can't imagine a better place to stay in Sarajevo! The apartment is beautiful, authentic, and historic, as well as clean and perfectly located. The bed was also very comfortable. The garden is a beautiful place to sit and have a coffee with a wonderful view. Maida was a wonderful host who was extremely helpful and welcoming. • Lara (10/5): Tolle Wohnung in zentraler Lage mit herzlicher Gastfreundschaft und großer Tierliebe. - Wir hatten eine wunderbare Zeit bei Maida! Die Wohnung liegt perfekt – alles ist fußläufig erreichbar – und wir haben uns sofort willkommen gefühlt. Besonders beeindruckt hat uns die herzliche Gastfreundschaft. Auch unser Hund war nicht nur geduldet, sondern wirklich willkommen – er hat den Garten über alles geliebt und dort eine tolle Zeit verbracht. Vielen Dank für den schönen Aufenthalt, wir kommen gerne wieder! Alles war perfekt!

• Marina (10/5): - Maida i cijela obitelj kao domaćini su bili divni! Apartman s autohtonim detaljima. Lokacija izvrsna, vrlo blizu Sebilja i Baščaršije, puno toga se može obići pješke. U apartmanu vas dočeka karta s označenim glavnim znamenitostima tako da je to super i vidi se uloženi trud domaćina. Parking u dvorištu. Vrt je super, zelena oaza iznad Bentbaše, za uživati uz kavu i zvuk vode. Maida nam je dopustila da pse puštamo u vrt i da se druže s njenim psima. Sve u svemu jedna topla preporuka! • Iztok (10/5): A silent and spacious fully equipped apartment with private parking, located steps from Baščarsija - Finally, a full night's sleep! This was our third time in Sarajevo, and we truly appreciated being able to rest undisturbed — no 4:30 AM call to prayer. We also enjoyed a great deal of privacy during our stay.

She provided us with all the information we needed and was very helpful. The house was also very beautiful. We were pleased with its historical feel and comfort.The location is very close to the center.

• Yulan (10/5): A plce to experience Sarajevo - This is the best place for you to stay in Sarajevo. The room is very big and beautiful, comfortable, the location is perfect! Some minutes walk you will be at the yellow fortress, 8 minutes walk you are already in the old town. Parking directly in the campus. A big garden with beautiful flowers this you can enjoy, even your dog can run freely. The hostess is the nicest . They give you all information you need and talk to you like friends. If some one would like to visit Sarajevo, I would strongly recommend this place to stay.

• Ekaterina (10/5): Exceptional hospitality in the heart of Sarajevo - I was searching for a special accommodation in Sarajevo that captures its history, culture and beauty and I have definitely found it in Avlija - Historic Gem. Its location is perfect - it is just one set of stairs away from the city historic centre and at the same time, it is really quiet at night. The view from the property's garden on Mount Trebevic is second to none. The house is more than 100 years old and has a real family and history feel. Maida is exceptionally thoughtful and welcoming - her communication was excellent prior to my arrival and throughout my stay. Highly recommended!

• Lloyd (10/5): Perfect Location and Friendly Hosts that made it more of a Home than a Rental. - Prior to meeting at the property, Maida the host reached out to us for our arrival time and details which made check-in easy. We were greeted upon arrival by Maida's daughter, Elma, who spoke perfect English and gave us a history of the property which was very welcome. The location was incredibly convenient and just a very short walk from Sarajevo's historic centre. The facilities were very clean and the hosts were only too happy to help with any queries and advice. Well heated for the cold nights, if I was returning to Sarajevo I'd check if this property was available. It was everything you could want for the price paid. No downsides.

• Sengteik (9/5): Superb - It is a heritage status property with antique items to match. Well manicured garden. Parking inside the compound. Very close to Bascarsija but not the noise and smoke. Very friendly and helpful host. The bed is slightly soft for our liking.

• Aidan (9/5): A charming, authentic apartment in Sarajevo with friendly and helpful hosts and in a great location within the city. - The property is a fantastic place to stay in Sarajevo, within a 5 minute walk from the old town. The place itself is filled with historic ornaments from Bosnia and Herzegovina which adds to its charm. The hosts are very friendly and offered us snacks and drinks upon arrival, and were always available for help and recommendations. There wasn’t anything I disliked about the property. Only the unfortunate weather that we had during our stay!

• Pedromarquezv (10/5): Excellent place, great garden if you have a dog! - Excellent place to stay, super dog friendly! The hosts are super nice and friendly. The apartment has everything you need and even more. It's like staying in a museum, very authentic but also comfortable. The only detail was the parking was extra, but other than that everything great.

Place really feels like a family house- restored authentic house, equipped with everything you could poasibly need, as well as functional kitchen. Few minutes walk to city center on a quiet street with terrace and porch overlooking the mountains. A great homebase for exploring Sarajevo
