• Joyce (10/5): Exceptional. We will definitely stay here again next time. - The host was easy to reach and very kind in addressing our questions. Even before check-in, the host was gracious and quick to respond to our questions. When we read about the tight stairs in the other reviews, the host even sent us a picture so we could gauge whether we would be able to manage it. (I'll tell you more about the stairs shortly) We arrived at past 9pm at night as our flight was late. We liked that the neighborhood was quiet but still alive. There were people on the streets and there were establishments still open. We were able to have dinner nearby. The check in procedure did not give us problems the way others described. When we found the tablet by the door, it was easy to take the pictures needed and to enter the code in the digital lock. The only challenge we had was doing all that in the cold. (it was quite cold that night). Despite there being 7 of us, we got in quickly and with hardly any effort. Thank you to the host for the clear instructions! The house/rooms turned out to be exactly what was shown in the pictures. The place had everything we needed. The beds were the right size, and everything was absolutely clean. Every appliance worked perfectly and was easy to use. Because it was cold, we enjoyed the fact that you could opt to heat your room using the AC (the ac cools and heats) and it was easy to figure out the controls even if the labels were in Japanese. The stairs, while steep and tight, were manageable. It was a bit of challenge to bring up and bring down our luggage but we managed with some effort. The effort it took was not enough for us to change our mind about the place. For us, it was all worth it. We were thrilled to find everything on our street. There was a deli with great onigiri and other yummy food. It was our go-to place for quick fixes. Our street was lined with konbinis, restaurants, pharmacies, fruit stands, vending machines, and so much more. There really isn't anything we didn't like as to make us change our mind about the place (not even the stairs). It would have been great if the pillows were bigger or if there were 2 per bed (that might be just a personal preference). It was raining on one of the days we were there. The place provided 2 umbrellas. There were 7 of us so we had to buy a few more. No big deal. We left 3 more umbrellas so that others would have more to use (including us when we go back.) We also left some ice cream in the fridge for the cleaners. Hopefully, they found and enjoyed them as much as we did.
