• Joy (10/5): Ballat Beauty - This charming cottage has been beautifully renovated & was an easy & comfy stay in a good location. We appreciated having laundry facilities & an outside clothesline. The owners were wonderful communicators & made us feel very welcome. It is on a noisey road, but owners have provided a sound machine for the front bedroom which helps. The driveway is very narrow, but there is roadside parking.

• Peter (10/5): Belinda and Michael have created a wonderful home. It still has enough original design outside to give it the original 1 - The place was incredibly clean upon arrival. No expense has been spared in detailing and curating an incredible luxurious home. High end finishings in the kitchen and bathroom made it feel very luxurious and the kitchen was incredibly stocked with every appliance you could ever need. The wifi signal wasn’t the best and dropped out often on the kids iPads. Never had issues with the wifi on them before so can only imagine the internet connection mustn’t be the best. In saying that, it encouraged them to get off their iPads and enjoy where we were, so I was actually happy. They then got to appreciate the lovely house we were staying in.

The attention to detail in restoring the cottage as well as the thoughtful inclusions such as appliance, water filter, open fire was second to none. Traffic noise was annoying & took away from the charm of this beautiful property. Double glazing of the windows & a more solid front door may help to diminish the impact of traffic noise.

• Barbara (10/5): A fabulous find in Ballarat - From an unassuming exterior, the interior was a delight. Perfectly styled with plenty of features to make it a very comfortable stay. It’s an old house, and took a while to heat - even with several heat pumps

The hosts were extremely accommodating when a misunderstanding about dates occurred and were responsive to questions without delay. Be mindful that this property is on a busy road but it didn't cause us any real problems.

• Debbie (9/5): Romance of a newly rennovated "miner's" cottage with all the mod cons - Great central location. One of the best fitted out kitchens in a holiday rental I have ever seen. Coffee machine, milk frother and every kitchen utensil you would ever need plus pretty serving dishes. Option for an open fire. Heating in both bedrooms means you can have individual temperatures over night. Shower pressure and hot water amazing. So, so pretty. If you want the romance of a newly rennovated "miner's" cottage with all the mod cons - this is your jam. Please please! heat the bathroom - it was COLD in Ballarat in winter and the bathroom and toilet were freezing! Bed was a little soft for me - but that's a personal preference - my friend loved it. A pity there wasn't 2 single beds in the second bedroom to be more flexible with how many people can use this lovely cottage. On street parking - not ideal but understand when the driveway is physically so narrow. Need to update the house instructions to take out the bit about central heating.. thet was no longer there.

We travelled with two kids and it suited our needs perfectly. Belinda and Michael are fabulous hosts, their communication was outstanding making it a smooth and easy trip and they have such an amazing eye for detail and know how to create a very luxurious and practical stay for their guests. We had a wonderful weekend celebrating our son’s first birthday. Thankyou!! Nothing it’s perfect!

But the beds were by far the best I have ever slept in - the mattress the linen, it was like sleeping on a cloud. I would have loved to have stayed longer, so may be back soon. Not an issue for us, but some may find the road a little noisy.

• Debb (10/5): A relaxing gem! - A delightful 1910 cottage, beautifully renovated. All the comforts of home. The washer, dryer, dishwasher, espresso machine were all very welcome. Great range of crockery, servingbowls & cutlery. The shower was devine. No BBQ or outdoor seating area at the rear of the property. Not a deal breaker though as the inside is beautiful.

The appliances all work perfectly and simply. Don’t overlook the heated towel rails in the bathroom. Our dog was also catered for with a bed and dog bowls. I’m not familiar with Ballarat at all, but everywhere I needed to go was within a 10 minute drive (food and shops 5 minutes). We took our dog and she was also welcomed with a dog bed and food and water bowls set out. Traffic noise may be a problem for some but was not for us.

• Antony (10/5): Beautiful cosy cottage in central Ballarat....awesome!! - Beautiful renovated cottage so close to Ballarat centre, and a great pub literally 100 metres along the road. This was more than holiday accommodation, it was like home with all the creature comforts. Everything in the cottage was quality, and it was very bright and cosy and warm. The fire was brilliant, so homely whilst watching a movie on Netflix. And our dogs loooooved it as they slept in front of the fire on their own beds. We'll definitely return for a few days. Nothing, it was so well thought out and homely.

It was beautifully decorated, very modern, everything looked new and finished to a really high standard. It had everything we needed, beds were so comfortable, kitchen was well stocked. I. Old go on and on… Nothing!! There is some road noise at times, however the inside of the house and it’s overall comfort, far outweighed this minor point.

• Jo (10/5): Five star stay in a five star property. - What’s not to like about this property? From the moment you enter, you feel at home. Everything is beautifully set out, the home is spacious and no expense has been spared in what I imagine is quite a recent renovation. From the beautiful linen bedding, to the fluffy towels, Nespresso coffee machine (and pods!), top notch wifi, fisher and paykal appliances and even beautiful cutlery, cutting knives and crockery. Everything was just decadent but somehow also homey. The shower has two heads, one rainwater for luxurious showers and a smaller head for either holding or not getting your hair wet. It seemed like the hot water never ran out! There was a hairdryer too which was handy. The toilet is separate and even has a little separate sink for handwashing. The central heating is excellent throughout the house and beautiful blankets are dotted around the property for snuggling. We didn’t use the cooking facilities as we were on a wine and cheese weekend but the oven and cooktop looked amazing and the deep white double sink had me mentally redesigning my own kitchen. The television had all the mod cons and the lounge suite was super comfortable. Dotted throughout are tasteful decorations, lamps and books. We had contacted Belinda and Michael to request permission to bring our Labrador who serves as a grounding companion to my daughter with anxiety. On arrival, there was a dog bed and ceramic dog bowls set out ready and a safe and secure courtyard for the dog to have a wander. The home is close to everything and I had some gorgeous morning walks with the dog taking in the beautiful surrounds. There’s a top notch coffee place on the next corner up and a great pub on the next corner down. The house is easily accessible, situated on a main road with excellent parking right outside the front door. All contact with Belinda and Michael throughout the process, including adding an extra night at short notice and then checking to ensure we had arrived safely, was exceptional. There is nothing to dislike.
