Guest Reviews
- Romancia (1/5): Horrible - Nothing Staff not friendly
- Simon (10/5): - Location was amazing! Beautiful building with lots of character ❤️.
The bed was super comfortable and the air-conditioning was a bonus, as it was a very hot day!
The bathroom was beautifully spacious and spotlessly clean! N/A
- Katy (8/5): Excellent accommodation - would highly recommend. - Lovely decor throughout. The room was very clean and comfortable. Excellent location very close to the train and tube station and shops. It was fairly noisy until late on the Friday and Saturday night due to the club night downstairs. We were notified of this in advance, and so we were expecting it, but have included here for transparency.
- Kate (10/5): Hidden gem in Balham - Rooms are well decorated and extremely comfortable. It’s clearly above a live music venue and pub however noise is managed well.
- Alisha (1/5): Cockroaches in bed and floor - Good location Cockroaches in the room and bad plumbing
- Christopher (8/5): Happy overall. We love the event and fact that the size of bar enables everyone to meet. - Regular visitor to annual event. Music room great. A bonus to be able to stay at venue. Stairs to room.
Noise of railway.

- Carmela (8/5): - Bella struttura.
- Siobhan (10/5): Comfort and convenience close to transport. - Lovely rooms, good food and friendly staff.
- Truman (9/5): Convenient for my work, good comfort and clean. Thank you - Facilities in room were good - just what was needed for two night stay.
Enjoyed the free gig on Tuesday - good variety of music.
No noise spill into room was a pleasant bonus
Service of rooms was good - thank you
- Julie (10/5): Another great stay at The Bedford - We stay here regularly , we attend gigs at this venue so to be able to stay on site here is fantastic. It’s a beautiful property. Nothing

- Jacqueline (10/5): Fab comfortable quirky - The quirkiness the comfort it was fab Nothin not to liked
- Ian (10/5): - Location, staff, room, all great! Aircon was a little loud when on - but who cares, very minor issue.
- Carol (9/5): Great. - Clean large room near to transport Was loud music one night but it had stopped by 10.30/11pm

- jaimie (9/5): Brilliant stay - great value, great food, great vibe. Would recommend - Lovely building with beautiful interiors. I arrived a little late (7:30pm) and the pub had a great atmosphere - a good crowd in considering it was a Monday.
I didn't realise there was a separate hotel entrance, even though it's a bright red door with "Hotel" above it. I went straight to the bar and was taken to reception to check in.
A third off food if you eat in the pub - which I did. Good menu and tasty food.
There was a dance class happening in a room near mine; I didn't actually mind it - it sounded fun! The room comes with ear plugs, which I'm guessing is for that reason, as well as being next to Balham station. Again, this didn't bother me, but if you want complete silence it maybe isn't for you - or ask for a room away from the tracks if possible.
I was in room 2 - very spacious with a huge shower and bed. I slept very well too. The only real downside was the hairdryer - loud and lacking in power. I reported it, so hopefully it'll be resolved for the next guest.
- Bev (10/5): Very pleased, would definatly stay again and no hesitatiation in recomending. - no breakfast served, but plenty of cafes ect nearby .
great room, fantastic bathroom.
- Ephraim (8/5): -
- Rachel (10/5): Beautiful art deco room with kind, friendly service - Beautiful, large art deco-styled room perfectly located above an excellent pub, near local restaurants and transport. Staff were amazing - they upgraded our room and gave us early check in, which was extra lovely after we had just flown 24 hours from Australia.

- Vittorio (8/5): - La camera molto bella e tipica. Bollitore e macchina del caffè
- Laurie (10/5): -
- Mike (5/5): Quite an expensive room for a local pub. Nice furnishings nicely decorated but not great value for money. - Nice room in a pub venue. Very handy for watching the comedy that is on there. The venue is a pub and therefore very noisy. There is lots of additional noise from the street and from the train line that runs right by the pub.

- Jean (8/5): Overall a comfortable and enjoyable stay. - Bed was very comfortable. Bed linen and pillows good quality. Bathroom had lovely plump towels. Shower facilities were top notch No complimentary cookies!
No shower cap in bathroom. You can ask about this at the reception apparently, but by the time I discovered this, I wasn’t getting dressed again to go downstairs.
- Melanie (8/5): - Close to tube
Friendly staff and discount on decent pub grub
Nice choice of teas and a decent little coffee pod machine
Lovely comfy cosy bed
Quirky decor Noisy but earplugs provided. Some rooms quieter than others
Decor looking a bit tired
- lyndon (8/5): Lovely rooms in a charming old pub - Character and location are fantastic Would have loved a bath in the room and it was a bit cold at night
- Richard (10/5): Fantastic bespoke room, roll top bath, amazing bathroom, historic venue. - Room was first class, pub had a buzz with nice music and had nice food. n/a
- leigh (10/5): - Brilliant staff great venue. Nothing
- Elaine (6/5): Comfy bed but a bit too tired for me - The staff were great. Location great. Very comfy bed and sheets. It was very tired. It’s in need of a bit of TLC. Needs redecorating, a good deep clean in the hallway and staircase.
- Barbara (8/5): Great place - Location and vibrancy.
Felt safe with security at the door. All good
- karen (10/5): Perfect for a night - Every thing
Great staff No breakfast

- Paul Clifford Robert (9/5): I WOULD RECOMMEND THE BEDFORD AND WILL BE BACK WHEN WE ARE IN THE AREA - LOVELY VENUE AND ROOM NOTHING
- Ursula (9/5): Lovely place! - I absolutely loved how the place is situated. In the middle of a charming neighbourhood, lots of tiny great eateries around, great connections to tube and trains. If I had had more time, I would have loved to go to one of in-house shows. My room was fairly quiet, given the fact that there were music and other events in the house and train lines were close by. You can't have everything, can you? On my departure day, they were so kind and kept the heaviest part of my luggage for a couple of hours. Although I mentioned a malfunction of the safe in my room to them, they didn't get back to me if I either didn't handle it properly or if it was a real malfunction, and what they intended to do about it. I was too busy and had not precious enough items with me to pursue the matter.
- William (8/5): Comfortable stay in lively location - Great location. Easy access to lovely Balham and entral London. Stylish room. Pleasant staff. No breakfast but a large Sainsbury’s two minutes away so that did the trick.
- Sue (4/5): -
- James (7/5): -
- David (8/5): -
- Debbie (10/5): Perfect location, lovely rooms, great venue for a gig and the food and drinks were lovely - highly recommended - Fabulous venue - 3 min walk from the tube station - gorgeous rooms.. fab food too x Nothing to dislike
- James (10/5): - Last minute reservation for work a mile away in the morning ! What a pleasant experience with live bands . Absolutely brilliant venue and quirky hotel . Nothing not to like !
- Ciaran (9/5): Lovely, quirky - Quirky. Lots of stuff on at the venue. Nice room. Decent coffee machine. Bathroom was great, including toiletries that weren’t screwed to the wall.
Great location. For London, food was really good value for money. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Nothing really.

- TheMarnie (8/5): Beautiful Room - Great location, very clean, well decorated, friendly staff and spacious. Parking free between 17:30 and 8:30. No YouTube or Netflix
Limescale on the overhead shower
- Victoria (9/5): -
- Sharon (8/5): - Die Lage in Ballham. Gute U-Bahn Zug Anbindung. Fast täglich Livemusik. Die Speisen im Lokal waren nicht qualitativ. Kaffee wurde nicht nachgefüllt. Sauberkeit geht anders.
- Matthews (8/5): Great didn’t stop all the weekend and nice to come back to relax and sleep well. Merry Christmas - Staff friendly, room cosy, great location, I would come back time and time again which I will. I’ll book direct next time. Keep doing what you are doing. I suppose there is always room for improvement even in the very expensive hotels in London.
- Meghan (1/5): - The location was good easy to get to the transit near by Would not recommend anyone stay on a Friday / Saturday night unless you are planning on being up until 2am. The club noise is incredibly loud. There was a previous guests comment card left, some pink liquid on the wall and an off putting stain upon entering out room.
- Kerri (4/5): Good area and nice bar.not keen on rooms - Lively bar Rooms looks dirty and dingy
- Matthew (10/5): Great value for money. Lovely room and comfy bed - The room was amazing, was pleasantly surprised Nothing
- Stephen (8/5): -
- Richard (9/5): Excellent location next to tube and rail links, fun luxury pub stay - Great rooms, individual design language a circus burlesque feel to a few i have stayed in, forget boring Hilton! Great pub bar and restaurant below for food and great discounts for guests!! Leaving

- Jennie (9/5): -
- Silvia (8/5): -
- Petra (9/5): Fijn hotel, goede locatie, absoluut goede ervaring!! -
- Sophie (8/5): - Un peu surprenant à prime abord. Déco très anglaise. Pub au RC. Personnel sympa. Pas d'ascenseur jusqu'à 11h du matin (heure d'ouverture du pub).
Voie ferrée au ras de la chambre 4. Mais insonorisation correcte.
- James (10/5): -
- India (9/5): - Fantastic room 👌🏽. Only thing i would complain about is the two singles together, as we had a gap between us. However the room was amazing. As was the bath. Staff were fab and friendly. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
- Michelle (4/5): -
- Thomas (2/5): -
- Endre (9/5): - Good location. Can be noisy in the evening, no parking, no breakfast possible.
- Rhiannon (8/5): Great location, comfortable and well presented. - Well presented, comfortable, clean, great location and good facilities. We really enjoyed our stay It is noisy - but this is evident when you book and we were anticipating a late night so it wasn’t a problem for us. They also provide earplugs
- Antony (7/5): - Good location Noisy room
- Rachel (9/5): -
- Lorraine (10/5): We are looking forward to coming back, the comedy club, food and music were all mind blowing - I loved the atmosphere and the friendliness of all the staff, and easy access to local shops and the tube Few appliances in the room could do with a little TLC
- Rachel (4/5): Don't book if you want to sleep - Nice size room and decor was really lovely. Good location very close to train station. Although we were aware there would be noise with this being a music venue, it was far louder than any description would lead you to believe and right until 0200. Even with earplugs it was to the extent that we could tell you what the set list was rather than it being background noise.
There is the illusion of a separate door for the hotel, however this was actually the club entrance so we had to ask the bouncers to let us in past the queue of drunk people who tried to follow us in.
Only one out of four lights in the bathroom worked and overall for the price we paid it was really disappointing. Complete rip off even for London.
- Kim (10/5): Super convenient location, large rooms and great art! - Super easy to get to and nearby every shop you could need. Large rooms artistically decorated and lovely big bathrooms. The staff were all v friendly. It’s a little noisy but not as bad as you might expect for a pub/live music venue next to the railway! Will definitely stay again. It’s a little noisy but nothing more than you’d expect. Bring earplugs if going to bed before the pub closes!
- Lisa Emma (9/5): Fabulous lively hotel with good food and lovely music - Very friendly reception and a quirky different hotel to stay in. Very good central location. Bar and food vexcellent. If I return I would book a bigger room .The bed was in a corner and had to climb over partner to go to the bathroom.
