- Begg (9/5): A slice of family heaven that felt like ours for 5 days. We are homesick for that beautiful place! - Location was very good - walking distance to pubs and character filled shops. Fronted the highway but we knew that beforehand. Absolutely beautiful gardens! The house is huge and the 7 bedrooms with ensuites meant everyone had their privacy. Showers were great - good pressure and plenty of hot water. All the living and dining areas were wonderful for a large family to spread out in. The fire pit and open fireplaces were perfect for the cold snap we experienced. We loved the industrial kitchen and the smaller breakfast kitchen - every appliance you could ever need! The beds were comfortable with beautiful linen and electric blankets. The house is a grand old lady and we felt very welcomed and at home there! Thank you for having us! Any negatives were the result of it being such an old house - it was hard to work out the lights for example - had to go on a bit of a switch hunt! Anything else would be nit-picking. We loved it!
- Tony (6/5): A potentially great property that is badly let down by maintenance issues. Needs a substantial renovation of the kitchen - Public areas were spacious and comfortable. There was plenty of room for an extended family group to spread out. The gardens were well maintained and pleasant. Although located on the Great Western Highway and across the road from the train line, it was not particularly noisy The property is badly let down by its ‘commercial kitchen’. Most appliances either didn’t work at all (the large coffee machine), were difficult to use or temperamental (oven, gas rings), or practically useless (a pod coffee machine that only took Nespresso capsules: unobtainable near Blackheath). The kitchen was also not particularly clean. All bedrooms appear to have TVs, but at least two didn’t work and one was missing completely.
To be fair, the owners were responsive to our difficulties but almost all of them could and should have been addressed before the arrival of guests.
- phillip (9/5): - Very roomy difficult to heat living areas
- Michael (9/5): A delightful place to spend some time with a big group of friends/family close to the highlights of the scenic blue - Great layout for socializing with a group of friends & well resourced for cooking etc. Close to shops and train station. Living areas were well heated and the beds comfortable. The sauna and outside fire pit were are nice touch. Nothing really - we knew in advance there was traffic noise so not an issue.

- Alissa (7/5): Great for mixed family time out of city and range of ages - Large space and accessible. Great location, space for everyone to have space. Nice kitchen morning dining space. , parking for vehicles Unfortunately a few things lacking and not clean. First must say we love the property but these are little things that could have effective other groups not as resourceful. The fire had 1 large log in the basket ( unable to burn on its own and not practical, so we bought from the local shop- starters and wood . Fireplace seemed to not have been cleaned so we swept it before using it. The kitchen was great however instructions for lighting the gas were not clear and the video shared said turn to right when it was actually turn to the left. There were no tea towels we had to look in the laundry room outside to find 2 potentially clean ones. The inside dining table as we were setting the tub,e for dinner and moved the centre plant noted it had been overwatered and the below jute runner was damp and mouldy. Used the sauna in the morning but didn’t heat up much seemed to leak het quickly.
