Guest Reviews
- Stephen (8/5): - Lovely breakfast delivered each morning Everything was as expected
- Tracy (10/5): - Great place close to the falls ,breakfast was lovely
- gary (3/5): Awful.not the place we booked and to say it was an upgrade is an insult to me and others When he brought breakfast aro - We didn’t actually stay at the property as he messaged me 2 days before saying he was double booked. I booked the property 8 months in advance so why is it being advertised when I have booked it. He put us down the road in a very dated house which was smelly, cold and nothing like what I had booked. It seems this is a regular occurrence as other reviews say the same. Do not book this place you will be disappointed. Everything. It was cold. Noted been modernised since the 1960’s. The views of the falls he promised were non existent as the property is surrounded by trees.
- Daniel (8/5): Friendly host, with free breakfast made this a good base to explore Niagara. - The location of the property is good. We had the WEGO pass, but also 50% off Uber for the week. We chose Uber because the stop was a walk away! Once we got over the unusual layout of the property, we had a good stay. Breakfast was a really lovely bonus with adaptations made for the vegetarian in our party. So let's talk about that layout! One of the bedrooms and bathrooms is in the basement. This is accessed via a steep staircase without handrail. You then have to cross a concrete floor before reaching the bathroom. Upstairs is accessed via one of two staircases one from the kitchen that goes directly into a bedroom that then goes into the bathroom. Again no handrail and no lock on the door between this bedroom and the bathroom. The other staircase leads to a landing with two bedrooms and the same bathroom. There is a handrail on these stairs, and they are not as steep. One of the bedrooms has a door directly onto the balcony, which made our kids feel uncomfortable, and they would not sleep in the room.
- Sam (1/5): Moved to another property and promised refund has not materialised - We booked the property "Peaceful Residence on Palmer Avenue" back in November 2024 for a stay in July 2025.
Shortly after the booking we were charged the full amount, all OK so far.
Then in March 2025 we were charged the full amount a second time, I immediately messaged John Pinter who manages the property on the booking.com app but received no response.
In the end I had to call him, the first attempt John made to refund went wrong (only reserved on my card and never paid?).
In the end it took more than 2 weeks and multiple attempts to contact John before I got the wrong double payment returned.
2 days before arriving we got a message from John to say he had moved us to another property, there was no explanation and no apology.
When we arrived at the new property we were very disappointed, the property faced a large vacant lot where some strange people were hanging out, the fourth bedroom was just a bed in the dining room (still with a dining table) which was separated from the living room with a curtain. We had very carefully picked "Peaceful Residence on Palmer Avenue" based on its pleasant location and the photos of the house and so were very cross to just be moved somewhere not as nice.
I called John straight away and he agreed to refund our money the next morning. We then found a nice hotel and carried on with our holiday.
That was 6 weeks ago and I have not received my money back. John has only responded to some of my messages, the last response I got from him was on 28th July saying he would send the money that week but he did not.
I have opened a case at booking.com who say I must wait 30 working days for the refund which I find rather ridiculous.
- Chau (10/5): Absolutely comfortable! It feels like home! - The BEST PLACE TO STAY AT! I love the house, it has everything you need! The owner also brought us breakfast, which was super kind!! I would definitely come here again!! Hope to see you again!
- Munaz (8/5): -
- john (6/5): Great location but in need of updating - Location, only 15 minute walk to the falls, off street parking, great breakfast delivered every morning. Well equipped. Toilets only accessible via stairs (very steep at one end of the house). Not possible to lock any of the toilet doors, the one downstairs wouldn’t even shut fully. Single Jack and Jill bathroom on first floor. Basement bedroom was slightly damp and smelled musty/damp, you gained access by walking across bare concrete. Place is generally tired. Some of the wires on appliances in the kitchen were repaired with insulation tape. The property is not suitable for those with mobility issues or elderly due to no toilet on ground floor.
- Cynthia (8/5): Great stay overall. Thank you! - Very close to the Falls and family parks! The breakfasts were really nice and staff were great. The swing outside was a hit with the kids. Missing a wine opener and had 4 toilet paper rolls for a family of 9 for 5 days. We needed more. :) A few fans/ windows were broken and it was really warm on the main floor.
- Yoel (5/5): -
- Marta (9/5): -
- Sathish (1/5): Bad -
- Kathleen (7/5): Good -
- Linda (9/5): Niagara getaway - Perfect location
Having breakfast delivered was great and it was a good variety A few small things need to be fixed such as missing doors on kitchen cupboards, but this did not impact our stay
- Cecilia (7/5): Great house location. - Overall, location was great. Walking distance to all the major attractions. Breakfast was simple but satisfying. Plenty of parking spots available and even has a little tire swing for young kids to enjoy. The inside of the house is a bit dated. The stairs are quite steep, especially the basement since there's no railing to hold on to. We were basically just there to sleep so it didn't really bother us much.
- Jaso (7/5): Good -
- Liu (4/5): Poor experience - location is good, and breskfast is good. the equipment in the unit is too old, e.g sofa looks old and dirty, door cannot close properly, air con/cooler is too old with big noise, showering pipeline in the 2nd floor is too short, there was smell inside building. and last but not least, last min changed unit location saying the original unit was double booked.
- Dawn (10/5): Exceptional - nice house close to the falls breakfast delivered daily.
- Piotr (1/5): Bad -
- Michele (10/5): Exceptional - We actually ended up at one of John's other houses, "Exceptionally Close to the Falls". Which was much closer to the Wego bus, the bus stop is right around the corner, which worked out better for us.
Great location.
Having breakfast made for us every morning was great.
- Kieran (10/5): Exceptional - House is very spacious, clean and the beds are so comfy. We're located just a short walk from the main drive, the falls and attractions, ideal as you don't need to park up as we left the car here.
- Tanja (10/5): Comfortable, great location, fabulous breakfast - The house was very comfortable for 3 generations (7 people total). The daily delivered breakfast was a huge hit. We really appreciated the food. The breakfasts we received consisted of
-delicious breakfast bagels with eggs, cheese, ham, and tomato.
-either pancakes or french toast
-fruit
-scrambled eggs
-cheese
-juice
-yogurt
The mattresses were surprising great and multiple people in my group get back pain, so the mattresses were greatly appreciated.
Sometimes we walked to the Falls along the river and sometimes we took the wego bus.
The house isn't 'fancy', which you can see from the photos, but everything was functional and exceeded expectations. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook some basic meals.
We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. -There are 3 staircases in the house and my 74 year old mother could only safely use the one staircase, as only one staircase has a rail. The stairs to the basement have no rail. There are 2 stairs going upstairs, The front stairs going up have a rail and those stairs lead to two queen bedrooms and a bathroom. The rear stairs going up leads to a loft and those stairs do not have a rail. This was fine for us, as my parents were assigned a room by the safe rail.
-Part of the basement is unfinished and has a low ceiling. You have to walk through this part to get to the finished part with a bedroom (queen bed + twin bed) + bathroom. Those rooms have a normal ceiling height.
- Daniela (10/5): Would definitely stay there again - It was perfect for 2 families with 4 adults and 6 kids. Bedroom layout was great with adjacent bathroom. Kids loved the tire swing in yard as well. Breakfast was delivered at requested time and still hot. Perfect portions!
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Eric (10/5): Comfortable and convenient home near the heart of scenic Niagara Falls. - Excellent location--within easy walking distance of downtown and the falls. Pet friendly. Host was very pleasant and helpful. Bathrooms, heating and appliances were all in good working condition and made for a comfortable stay. The weather was too mild for the beginning of January, but there was nothing the host could do about that.
- Paul (9/5): Superb - Awesome location, great service
- Jonathan (9/5): Superb -
- Nicole (9/5): Great for our trip to the falls. Family of 5. - It was a nice detail to have breakfast brought to us daily.
- Jean-michel (9/5): Superb - Breakfast was great! And the house is so spacious!
- Tina (10/5): Perfect for our family, definitely peaceful. - Very comfortable and plenty of room for or family. There are 4 of us so we only used 3 of the 4 bedrooms. Warm and cosy. The complimentary breakfast freshly delivered each morning was a real bonus and always delicious with John making every effort to cater for our needs. Super impressed.
A pleasant 25 minute walk from the falls. 9 minutes to the nearest Wego bus stop. The stairs are quite steep up to the bedroom at the back with no handrail so for folk with mobility issues it may be a problem. There are two sets of stairs so if you have mobility issues then use the front stairs.
- Janelle (10/5): It was a great stay and very recommendable! - The property is big enough for a group and the feel and look is like a home. It has everything you need at home. John is also very responsive and accommodating. Nice breakfast too! The place has everything you need-incredibly complete.
- Catherine (7/5): The house is comfortable and clean and provides all kitchen appliances and kitchen accessories - The property is close to the fall and surrounding is quiet. Parking is spacious. House is clean. This property needs to repair the chairs as the legs are shaking and easily broken down when a heavy person sitting on it. The stairs at back door have no railing to climb up or down, and have to be watchful for your steps. Washroom in the basement needs to level the ground as there’s a step up to the toilet and have to be careful when using it.
- Elaine (8/5): Central location convenient to local restaurants and attractions. - The host was charming and very helpful. The property manager brought breakfast each day. He had helpful suggestions for experiencing the area. The beds were comfortable. The living room sofa and love seat were uncomfortable. It made it difficult to sit around together and relax. The dining room table wobbled and some chairs were uneven as well.
- Staghzout (10/5): Perfect place for family. - The location is perfect. Walkable and easy to visit the whole of Niagara. The host makes sure you get everything you need for you and your family.
Check in was easy and everything you need is in the kitchen.
Bathroom is spacious, huge tv, some board games are available to be used.
The breakfast was perfect every morning. And you get more than enough for a family of 4. The space is big enough to accommodate a big family and the parking is big too. Two little suggestions:
1. A high chair that could be available for young kids (a cheap one from Ikea would be perfect too).
2. An additional bathroom for the upper floor or on the main floor. (Toilet and sink only is sufficient)
- Marilyn (10/5): My family and I came to Niagara Falls for the very first time and when we saw this house in person we loved it! The host - I loved how I felt at home. The house was absolutely beautiful, clean and cozy. And the neighborhood was quiet and peaceful. There is nothing I didn’t like about the property.
- Arne (9/5): We had a very good time here and would consider staying with John again, thank you! - The house was very clean and comfortable. The host was very friendly and provided excellent information about local restaurants and places to hike.
- Tajinder (9/5): Fantastic property for families to stay. I would definitely return and will again soon I hope - The property was great with lots of character. Comfortable night’s stay, clean. Quiet location with a 25 minute walk to falls with baby strollers. Lovely space for babies too. We very much appreciated the lovely breakfast it was so yummy. Only thing I would say is the breakfast bagels for vegan needed to be without egg (for future reference). We worked around it.
- Rameshor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mang (8/5): Very good -
- Peggy (9/5): This house is comfortable and accessible to all major Niagara Falls attractions. - Breakfasts were very generous, varied and delivered on time each day. The living and sleeping areas were spacious and very comfortable. The location of the house was terrific, close to the falls and major attractions. The host was very helpful and offered advice on activities we might like to do whilst visiting. It was a great place for our family reunion. The downstairs area was accessible by a steep stairwell.
- Bianka (10/5): Huge, cozy home walking distance to the Falls made vacation worthwhile. - Clear instructions were provided, a lock box was outside, and there was a FREE yummy breakfast every morning! The house was spacious, and four rooms comfortably fit ten people. There was also an outside deck and balance for quality time and relaxation. There are some critters around, but nothing too crazy. The breakfast is the same daily (various options can/should be incorporated). There was only one key to the property, which made it hard to split up.
- Tibor (10/5): Exceptional - Great location and a friendly host.
- Nancy (10/5): Exceptional - Clean, close to attractions by walking, correspondence was quick, access was easy. Nice breakfast was delivered to us when we set the time up.
- Goel (9/5): Superb -
- Radostin (10/5): Exceptional - Great place for a big group. It has everything you need. The location is perfect: walking distance to the falls but in quiet neighborhood to get a good sleep! N/A
- Angel (10/5): nice cozy place there were 6 of us and we really enjoyed staying at this property. place was easy to find and really clo - Mattresses were comfortable
- Kandeeparajah (8/5): Very good -
- Stephan (10/5): Exceptional - Very good breakfast, superb location, everything clean and tidy
- Mourad (10/5): Thank you John for the delicious breakfast and all for all your help with direction . Nice place for family - Very clean and large , good decoration
- Griselda (10/5): Exceptional - Is was too much noise out side early in the morning, machine was working in the road but everything beside that was good 👍
- Weinberger (10/5): We would stay here again. The owner was very responsive. - Very lovely spacious home. Very clean with comfortable beds. Conveniently located near the falls & Clifton Hill activities. We were a family of 10 all agreed is was the best place even the kids!
