Guest Reviews
- Ashley (7/5): Good - Value for money on Location, was close to everything for our trip, house was big enough for family of 5. Good communication with host regarding check in and issues. Needs some TLC on maintenance inside property, oven was not working found out after we bought food 😅 wear and tear and mould in the rear part of the house.
- Karen (7/5): Cold and uncomfortable, location great. - Location good It was really cold (June) too cold to spend any time in the building so all meals taken outside. Request for blankets x2 got quilts with no covers delivered 48hrs later.
Not really comfortable in terms of sitting and having a natter, we were 6 using the 3 bedrooms and the sofa bed, using the table in the dinning area with the 6 chairs we were bringing the bedroom heaters down and still sitting with scarfs on.
- Sarah (9/5): Superb - Liked the location and how peaceful the area was. Didn't like the fact there was no dryer. Couldn't do any washing because it was so cold and nothing would have dryed.
- Ellie (8/5): Very good -
- Katy (1/5): Bad -
- Lainie (8/5): Very good -
- Neil (9/5): Superb - Clean and comfortable in a great location
- Jeanette (5/5): Spent 1 night prior to cruse did us for the night but over priced for what it is . - Location Travelling with elderly which I did make the host aware of but at no time was I told 3 bedrooms up steep stairs and no toilet or bathroom upstairs . And the E-bikes that are Inc . You get a message after the free cancel period to say if you want e-bikes you need to pay $1000 deposit
- Ross (9/5): A one night stay in the city. Perfect to access The Rocks, Barangaroo and the CBD. - Contact from the host was exceptional. Very clear pre-arrival instructions, good detail on accessing the keys and some extra help with directions to nearby parking.
- Irene (9/5): Superb -
- Jessica (4/5): Great location and host great to deal with however won't stay again - Spacious was accurate Cleanliness. Rubbish piled up out the front. Shower needed a good clean. Towels were old and dirty. Only feather pillows on all beds. Obscenely noisy gutter when raining.
- Terri (10/5): Exceptional -
- Andy (3/5): Very disappointing - Good location Firstly it is quite basic. Secondly the three bedrooms are upstairs with no bathroom and the toilet is a long way away downstairs. Thirdly there are bedroom lamps but the socket is a long way away from the bed. Fourthly only two sockets were working. This meant no fridge, no microwave and having kettle and toaster on the lounge floor.
- H (8/5): Comfortable - The location for the ship terminal is fantastic I would be very easy to supply fresh milk in the fridge for guests. The supply of pods of long life milk is not acceptable in my opinion.
It’s a little thing but makes a huge difference.
- Ebony (9/5): Superb -
- Natasha (1/5): Great location, the rest - TERRIBLE - The location was good. The bombardment of communication for a 1 night stay was insane...but none when we had no power, the cleanliness was terrible, then they wanted AUD$1000 for the bikes....after the free cancellation period...sowe didn't have the bikes. We had no power in any sockets upstairs and none in the kitchen either....so no fridge, dishwasher. The property was stark with no art on the walls. The toilet and bathroom doors that were blown out and unhygienic. Ultimately, this property is dirty, unclean, tired and needs a spruce-up. Would not recommend it at all. This was the worst property I have ever stayed in.
- Eva (8/5): Very good -
- Kerrie (4/5): Disappointing - One bedroom door once closed wouldn't re-open. Therefore losing 2 persons capacity for sleeping resulting in them having to book a hotel. Was in need of deep cleaning.
- Ruth (7/5): We had to leave early due to the airport closing in BNE cyclone Alfred - Location is fantastic it was basic
- Dominique (8/5): Very good - I did not see any E bikes
- 5757loadsman (7/5): Pleasant and spacious house - Lock to the front door was very difficult.
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Ramadhani (8/5): A Lovely Sydney Getaway at Amazing Location and Lovely Neighbourhood - Amazing location, cant ask for more on that front! It's practically 1 minute walk to The Rocks and a further 3 mins to Circular Quay / Opera House, We have everything on our doorstep so as a group of 8 coming from Melbourne to watch Socceroo's, it's the best ideal accommodation for us. It's very spacious even for 8. Love the balcony and backyard. Our Neighbours are also very friendly. Hosts are very accommodating and attend to messages very promptly. Couldn't call or WhatsApp the hosts but emails and messages are attended to very promptly, including on the weekend. Will be back next time we have groups going to Sydney again :) There are no aircons in the property AND one of the fans are broken. There's no flyscreens on the window either so without aircons and unable to keep the windows opened for cool breeze on a hot night was a hassle in the first night. Mind you we're from Melbourne so we are not used to hot/muggy/sticky nights, so probably wouldn't be an issue for anyone but us! The toilet and bathroom is at the very back end of the property, and there's only one each of them, so it was kinda tricky with 8 people but nothing too problematic. Tho the amenities are sufficient for us, we find the lack of other handy things a bit annoying, e.g. pens/paper, takeaway containers. We also would appreciate more coffee pods; 5 was not enough for a group of 8 staying for 3 days!
- Pamela (6/5): Pleasant - Location and proximity to Wharf Lots. Bathroom on first floor and bedrooms all upstairs very inconvenient and dangerous for our group. Electrical system was scary, sparked on a few occasions, felt it was a fire risk. No air conditioning and unreliable older fans. The bedrooms upstairs were horribly hot, especially on our first night after an extremely hot day in Sydney. Multiple sightings of roaches on first floor was also unsettling.
For the price paid, feel that upgrades are needed to this unit, that was listed as a spacious home, are desperately needed. We were not sad to leave after 3 days. Also 1 fan was broken and useless and the promise made to replace was never honored.
- Marion (7/5): Great location but requires some maintenance - Size & location Lack of maintenance
Only 1 out of 3 light bulbs working in kitchen
Kitchen oven clock reset button broken.
Light not working in hall along bathroom & toilet
Bathroom and toilet doors all rotted at the bottom
Bathroom wall had mould in the grout & kitchen sink could do with some bleach & scour also.
Pedestal fans dangerous with the cover plates hanging of the back of them all falling off coming apart and unstable.
Bed side lamp in main bedroom on right hand side
had a broken plug so was unusable.
Linen on main bedroom had a tear in it.
- Warren (7/5): It was a warm night with no aircon and it was in a close area for what we needed it for - Great location No aircon
- Connan (4/5): Average - Location was great The place is dirty and needs maintenance.
- Michael (6/5): Pleasant - No air conditioning
- Brendan (9/5): Superb - Location No window screens
- Tracey (7/5): Good - Great location No a conditioning
- Sally (9/5): Perfect location, easy to find, and easy access. Good communications with the host - Great location, booking and finding the key was easy. I did query why I had to send a photo and id, this seemed a potential threat to my identity,
- Christopher (9/5): Superb - This house is in an amazing location, 10 minutes walk to the Bridge, Rocks, Baramgaroo, Circular Quay.
Thia is an older property but it was clean, the facilities in good shape. It represents good value as a quiet place to rest for a l4+ head family after exploring Sydney. Connected TV with subscription helped for short spells of downtime with the kids. Nice pub on the corner for a sneaky schooner. 👌 Just be aware no air-conditioning.
The pub on the corner doesn't know what a pot is. 😳
- Travis (8/5): Great location and value for money I would stay again - Location was excellent No air con. But there are plenty of windows to let the breeze in
- Nicholas (1/5): Bad - Location The place felt so dirty, the bathroom was CAKED in mold.
Literally in every gap possible the WHITE grout was BLACK.
Dust caked all the air vents and 3/6 fans did not work.
If it was not for the location I would have left.
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Loved the location There wasn't any air conditioning and the beds were hard
- Carol (8/5): Very good - Excellent location, good parking. Clean and tidy Stairs to bedrooms difficult for older person, no air-conditioning bit fans were provided.
- Nicki (4/5): Disappointing - Location Lack of aircon, lack of fly screens on windows. Needs repairs to a lot of things, extension cords trip hazards
- Cindy (1/5): Shocking experience especially for the cost to stay there. - The location was really the only thing I liked about this property. This was absolutely the worst accommodation we have stayed in via booking . com. I suspect that the owners don't visit the property very often, if ever. It was very neglected and the cleaning was just a basic tidy up. When we arrived the rubbish bins on the veranda were overflowing. Inside the property paint was peeling off the walls, the shower flooded each time it was used. the bathroom door was swollen from water damage. The upstairs rear bedroom door doesn't open from the inside and two of our guests got stuck in there in the middle of the night. Dangerous paving in the back court yard. Mould on the shower wall. We happened to be there on a warm night and the pedestal fans were grossly inadequate. Opening the windows just let in all the mosquitoes as there was no flywire on the windows. PS: You should also know that you have to put down a $1000 deposit for the e-bikes on your credit card 3 days in advance of your stay. Of course they said it would be refunded but that could take many days, meanwhile that money is not available on your card. It didn't say anything about that when booking.
- Tania (7/5): Excellent Location - House Needs A lot of Maintenance - Beware of narrow steep stairway - Location was excellent - Communication was excellent as well - Well equipped kitchen Steep staircase, handrail didn’t even go full way up stairs - listing needs updated to tell guests there are steep stairs, one our group was unable to even use the stairs !
Mouldy grout in shower was disgusting, and musty damp smell in bathroom area
Paint coming off walls in multi areas in house
Door handle in bedroom at top staircase not working, one of our group got stuck in the bedroom
Spouting or down pipe needs maintenance, was raining and the noise in the bedrooms was awful
Wheelie bins at front balcony were overflowing with rubbish, not a very welcoming look when arriving
- Maria (6/5): Great location in The Rocks however property does need a deep clean especially the bathroom the grout was mouldy - Location was fantastic The bathroom was mouldy
- Deborah (8/5): Very good - Amazing location right in the The Rocks, 5 min walk to Bangaroo metro station & circular quay
- Louise (3/5): Poor -
- Rebecca (8/5): This property is perfect for a family. Spacious, Great location. - The location was fabulous. Limited air-conditioning in hot weather. A bit of a musty smell.
- Hendriks (6/5): Ok - Location We didn’t realise that it wouldn’t be appropriate for our elderly parents. The stairs were too steep and bathroom were down stairs … so 80 year olds had to sleep in a couch.
- Michael (8/5): Very good -
- Emily (10/5): Exceptional -
- Josie (2/5): Disappointing. The bad greatly out-ways the location! NO air conditioning! - Good location. Semi updated kitchen and bathroom - (although the grout is full of mould).
That’s where it ends. -Property is mostly extremely tired and very much badly in need of maintenance - holes in walls, windows not shutting, door handles broken and the worst is
no air conditioning for the really hot/humid summers. The fans were so noisy. All issues from previous people still there 12 months later.
-there seems to be a family of cockroaches in residence .
-I’m not sure if sheets and towels are clean, all had a musky smell.
-the indoor floors were all sticky and outdoor area is dirty and untidy.
-If u have mobility problems I’d give it a big miss with bedrooms upstairs (steep) and the one bathroom way down stairs at the back.
-E-bike are not supplied unless u pay a $1000 deposit.
-If you have a car - They mention street parking - but not that it costs $8.20 an hour (only 2 hrs parking available) out front or $60 day at the car park.
**I would definitely recommended spending abit more to get a nicer place and give this one a wide berth!
- Xiaohan (5/5): Good location, but room cleaness and facility should be improved. - The location is good. Offering easy access to city central position. It’s not clean in the property. The room was hot with no air conditioning, and while a fan was provided, but with dust on it. Additionally, the bedroom was not cleaned, with dust and dirt visible throughout.
- Adrian (8/5): Very good -
- Terinrod (9/5): Great stay for a larger group - Location close to Circular Quay It's a bit deceiving with the e-bikes you only get them if you leave a $1000 dollar deposit ..
- Anita (9/5): Lovely location near attractions - good value for the number of bedrooms - Great location and space of bedrooms Noisy neighbours (but this wasn’t the owners fault)
- Halina (7/5): Perfect property for a large group in a wonderful location. - The location was very convenient and quiet in a good way. There was lots of space which is what we needed. It was perfect for our needs. I would highly recommend for a large group, there was enough room for 7. There were only 4 dining chairs and only 1 bathroom. Toilet is downstairs and is a bit annoying if you need to use it in the middle of the night as the stairs are a little steep.
- Tristan (3/5): Avoid - Good location. Was advertised with Ebikes included, but you need to jump through hoops to get them and pay a over 1000 deposit to use them.
It should be advertised with Ebikes available not included.
Power point in the bathroom is hanging out of the wall and sparks when you use it. Another power point is broken with electrical tape placed over the switch. Would not recommend this place for familys with children.
There has been some significant water damage to the laundry, bathroom and toilet that has been covered up with paint.
shower grout is very drirt.
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- I (1/5): This property is a total scam. The property offered e bike with a deposit. The deposit has not been refunded until now. - Zero. Won’t ever consider to rent this property 1. Dirty- opened teabag on counter
2. One washroom available
3. Cockroaches found in washroom
4. Spider size of palm on ceiling
5. Floor creaks
6. Dirty carpet
7. Toilet roll provided upon request
8. Hairdryer was not functioning on Day 1
9. No proper space to hang clothes
10. No dryer
- Melissa (8/5): Very good -
- Wout (10/5): Highly commendable - This accommodation offers excellent amenities for a comfortable stay. The private bathroom is well-equipped with free toiletries and a shower, while the kitchen includes everything needed for self-catering, such as a refrigerator, microwave, oven, stovetop, dishwasher, and coffee/tea makers. The living area is cozy with a sofa, flat-screen TV, and streaming services like Netflix. Additional features include a washing machine, heating, hairdryer, and plenty of storage options. The balcony and outdoor dining area are great for relaxing, and thoughtful touches like towels, linens, and even a clothes rack make it feel like home. Ideal for both short and extended stays.
- Ebony (8/5): A well appointed property in a fabulous location providing a great base for exploring Sydney. - The property is in a fabulous central location close to transport and Circular Quay. It was well appointed, comfortable and a great size for a group of friends spending a few days in Sydney. Really lovely to have an outdoor space to enjoy as well. A few items are showing wear but expected with an older property.
- Smith (7/5): Good -
- Joseph (10/5): Exceptional -
- PÃa (7/5): Beautiful place soooo perfectly located - Location was amazing and the place was super spacious and comfortable. Communication was excellent with the hosts at all times. The open spaces were very dirty which was a shame cause they are beautiful, but we just couldn’t sit there. You had to leave a super high bond for the e-bikes.
- Sandra (4/5): Excellent location but property in need of some TLC - Location Sheets had holes in them
Stains on the doona covers
No additional blankets
Needs some work re painting and door deterioration
- Nicholas (6/5): OK - The location and size of the property was great. The host was polite and responded promptly to enquires. There were no e bikes available without responding to a reputedly earlier correspondence that we checked for and never received. The furnishings were very minimal - to the point where the bedside lamps did not work as their plugs did not fit in Australian sockets. A few prints would improve the feel markedly. Parking is also $8.20 per hour on the street outside from 8am until 10pm.
- Tong (10/5): The whole experience is good value for money... Highly recommended! - Very convenient check-in process, instructions sent a day before we arrived. Communication is excellent too as we always got the answers and assistance needed pre and during our stay. Location is excellent. The whole experience is good value for money... Highly recommended!
- Marika (10/5): Nice experience - Nice location, nice and clean house. Will book again next time
- Sonya (6/5): attending a family wedding in Sydney - Great location we were able to walk down to the Rocks and along the beautiful walking path along the waters edge
Down along the Warf there was many options to get Breakfast and Dinner
Was very close to the new Metro train line. We were a group of 6 and there was not enough dinning chairs around the table only being 3 chairs so we could not all sit down at one time.
- Lee (10/5): Had a great time, accomodation was awesome, will certainly stay again. - Excellent location. House had everything we needed. Didn’t really bother me but the empty beer bottles and condom packets left out in the back courtyard from previous guests weren’t something I expected.
- Abbie (10/5): Great location without being too busy, clean and tidy and great communication - Great location without being too busy, clean and tidy and great communication
- Alejandro (3/5): Disappointing - Location The house only have 1 toilet, when we got to the house (early check in) we notice a cloggage in the toilet, we told the host and he said they will fix it, then we left the house and come back at 6 pm and still was clogged, we could not use it, we were seven people and needed to use it. We told the host once again and they sent someone to fix it at 9 30 pm and the damage was very big, we were not able to use the bathroom until midnight that the plumber finished the job, and he told us we were not able to sit on it until next day.
I know things happens but the host are not checking properly before the guests arriving to the house, they even told us they knew there was a problem with the bathroom, so they already knew it but they wait until late to try to fix it
It was so disapointing !
- Jean (8/5): Great central location close to The Rocks - Close to The Rocks and an easy walk into the CBD. Street was quiet of a night. Needs some maintenance -bathroom door showing signs of water damage, outdoor area needs maintenance.
- Melinda (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kaarina (10/5): Great stay - Collecting the keys was easy as instructions was sent a day before our stay. Parking on the street was also available for limited time at night. The apartment is well maintained in terms of cleanliness. Answers were prompt. Comfortable beds. The house is very spacious.
- Deborah (8/5): Very good - Location.
- Rachael (8/5): Very good -
- Donat (10/5): Recommended - Excellent apartment! Something would book again in the future.
- Donna-louise (8/5): Location location location with heaps of room and a kitchen - Codes sent to phone so was very easy.
Communication prior to check in was great
They answered all my questions each time I asked
The location is divine Ebikes weren't available. Perhaps they are not legal anymore but couldn't be located. And this was one of the reasons we chose the property so might need to update the site to their location or lack of availability
- Tracey (8/5): Very good -
- Cherie (6/5): An awesome location and could be a wonderful place to stay with just a little bit of work and a few homely touches. - Excellent location.
10 out of 10 for location.
Perfect spot to walk around the Sydney harbour. The house was cold and lacked those extra bits to make it comfortable and homely.
Perhaps some extra blankets for each bedroom, a throw on the couch and some art on the walls would make this place more inviting.
Even just having the oil heaters on before our arrival to make it warm would have been a nice touch.
The back hallway/bathroom and toilet all need work. There is mould on the ceiling, the bottom quarter of the bathroom door is rotten and falling off. The shelf in the shower fell off the wall and smashed whilst my daughter was showering and cut her feet. Really needs to be fixed!
Even the towels had bleach stains all over them.
- Kjell (10/5): Clean and very pleasant accommodation - Would stay again here. Clean and very pleasant accommodation. Everything was perfect. :D
- Samuel (8/5): Very good - Great spacious property in a cute part of the city only minutes walk to the rocks and a quick trip to anywhere else you want to be. Additional pillows and bedding would have been good, otherwise everything was fine!
- Roy (10/5): Awesome unit! Highly recommended. Perfectly situated in the heart of the city. - Overall, the place was so close to Circular Quay and The Rocks and the bus stops which allowed us to conveniently access the key attractions we wanted to go to. The unit itself is so attractive, spacious and clean and well-equipped - lots of storage and heaters, modern appliances and furniture, a deck off the main bedroom plus another deck/patio behind the house, etc. The host was very responsive to our needs and questions. We were very happy and satisfied in choosing this place. Another toilet/bathroom on the 2nd floor would be nice to have.
- Segolene (8/5): Fantastic location, cute house, responsive hosts, could do with a extra touches to make homely - The location was absolutely superb, right next to the rocks and its cafés and French bakery (yum!), and easy walking to Circular Quay and parts of the CBD. You could actually see part of Harbour Bridge from the upstairs main bedroom balcony!
The house was a charming terrace with the cute features of that sort of federation era. It has the typical spread for those houses, with bathroom and laundry at the back downstairs. All the basic amenities for a self-catering stay were provided.hot water system very good, nice hot shower. Electric heaters were very much appreciated in all the bedrooms and living room. Good TV.
Hosts were quick to respond. Easy check in and check out. As others have commented, the decor was very Spartan. Not one picture in any wall, not one rug, minimum amount of lamps...etc which made the place feel a bit bare.
Perhaps missed some extra little touches like some decor, extra blankets for the cold nights and pillows for sitting up and reading in bed, and little things like coasters on the glass coffee table, more than one kitchen towel (for a 6 day stay for 4 people), a box of tissues, some sugar, cling film....- which are usually found in self-catering accommodation - would easily bring this property up to 5 stars.
- Annette (6/5): It was handy to the city and the accommodation were ok - Handy to the city Light in bathroom faulty, two lamps didn’t work and a lot of mould in the back hall. Beds also quite hard.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good value and great location - A lovely quiet street, able to park out the front to unload and load the car. Able to walk to the opera house, rocks area etc. Provided what we needed for a short family stay in Sydney. An upstairs toilet would be a huge improvement.
- Jennifer (4/5): Great location - rags for towels! - Great position Soulless
Rags for towels
No basic supplies - not even a tea bag!
Coffee machine didn’t work
- Nic (6/5): Great location, just really cold. - Nice and big property. Great location. Absolutely freezing place. No built in heating at all, only plug in moveable electric oil heaters in lounge and bedroom. No heating in dining room, kitchen area. Toilet is original outhouse but has been built in with laundry and bathroom so you don't need to go outside. No toilets upstairs near bedrooms.
Would be fine in summer but we really struggled in winter.
It is a beautiful original house from early 1900's. Not a lot of decor.
No milk in fridge. Just the basic bare minimums.
Fantastic location though.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Bandy (9/5): Superb - Location, decor, heaters on when we arrived, space. When using the shower the bathroom and hall flooded and we used almost every towel to try and mop up the water.
- Margot (10/5): Amazing location, great comfortable house - No breakfast but we were minutes away from cafes and restaurants Could of had some milk in the fridge
- Adam (10/5): Exceptional -
- John (8/5): Very good - Excellent location to Harbour and
Pier One to attend a wedding
Very roomy for three couples
Suited all our needs We are 60/70 year Olds so
Stairs too steep
Toilet down stairs with
Beds not the best, upstairs
- Helen (8/5): It suited us to have a room each but I would not stay for a great length of time. - In an excellent position for walks around The Rocks, Barangaroo and Circular Quay area.
Comfortable beds. Strange electrical wiring and equipment for lights and heaters.
Bare walls and floors. Not very homely.
- Margaret (7/5): The location balances up the rather spartan feel of the house and the long hike to the bathroom. - The location. The house is painfully bare, The one bathroom is miles away from the bedrooms, down a steep set of stairs. Some milk and teabags would have been a nice touch, in addition to the coffee pods and machine.
- Linda (10/5): Exceptional - Location value When I rang to ask if there was milk tea and coffee I was told YES that is all there. There was a coffee machine, but no tea or milk. We had to go and buy some. We could have brought it with us had we known there was none
- Jacqueline (6/5): Great location and excellent value for money. - Amazing location. Very basic accomodation; don't expect anything fancy but good value for money. We were on an extended holiday so it was good to have a full kitchen to prepare a meal in and use of a washing machine. E-bikes were not included despite being advertised (and this was why we choose the property).
Toilet on ground floor at very back of the house was a challenge for middle aged bladders needing to get up in the middle of the night!
Bedding wasn't warm enough for cold autumn night.
Table lights throughout the living room and in the bedrooms don't generate enough light, just an ambient glow.
Being an older property, power outlets are problematic and there were a lot of power boards and extension cords but not all of them worked.
- Jessica (6/5): Pleasant - Great location and large property. The shower drain was so clogged with hair that it didn’t drain properly (we lifted the tile to check, it needs a really good clean out). There are clear water damage marks on the bathroom door so the host surely knows about the issue.
- Tracy (8/5): Very good - Great Location, ease of communication with owner Power boards not working in main bedroom
- Yolande (8/5): Very good -
- Angelique (7/5): Good - Great location and easy access
- Alexandra (8/5): Good value for money, great location. - The house is well located and it was nice and clean.
All bedrooms were spacious. It has a lovely outdoor area. The main bedroom (with the little balcony) is a bit noisy at night/early morning as it faces the main street and you can hear traffic passing. But in general we had a good stay.
