Guest Reviews
- Cecy Val (10/5): - Beautiful resort, very clean and modern.
The roof top pool is amazing and the service outstanding. Everything was great.
- arsenio (1/5): -
- Qazi (1/5): No halal food, awful service, no entertainment - Just the room. We stayed at Garza Blanca Cancun based on the reputation and reviews, but unfortunately our experience was very disappointing, especially as a family traveling with a young child.
The resort had very little entertainment for both adults and kids. There were almost no activities happening during the day or evening, which made the resort feel very quiet and boring after the first day.
The kids club was also disappointing. There was barely anything for kids to actually play with, and parents were not allowed to stay with their children. Our 5-year-old son was uncomfortable being left alone there and refused to stay without us, which made the kids area unusable for our family.
One of the biggest issues was the food situation. There were essentially no halal food options available, which was extremely frustrating and should be made clearer to guests before booking. We also struggled because many staff members spoke very limited English, making communication difficult throughout the stay.
Another major negative was the tipping pressure. Even though this is marketed as an all-inclusive luxury resort, we constantly felt expected to tip based on what the meal “would have cost” outside the package. We ended up spending approximately CAD $100–$200 per day just on tips, which felt excessive and uncomfortable.
Overall, this resort did not meet expectations for a luxury family vacation. We regret booking this property and would not recommend it for families with young children, travelers looking for entertainment, or guests requiring halal food options.
- Farhad (10/5): -
- Shahla (5/5): -
- Veniamin (6/5): Not a good value considering the cost - The property grounds, rooms and amenities are beautiful. Rooms are large and modern. Outside pool area is very nice and well maintained. Horrible service, especially for an all-inclusive resort. While breakfast is offered as a buffet, all other meals must be ordered, and wait times range from 40 minutes to over an hour and a half. The service is consistently slow, and it often feels like staff are inattentive.
Another major issue was the lack of hot water in the rooms. This wasn’t just an isolated problem—many families were complaining about it during our stay, which made it clear this was a broader issue the resort failed to address.
What’s particularly frustrating is that tips are automatically added unless you specifically ask for them to be removed. At an all-inclusive resort, that shouldn’t be the case—gratuities should already be included. Guests shouldn’t be put in the uncomfortable position of having to request their removal just to avoid being overcharged.
On our departure day, our room keys were deactivated before checkout time, and we had to go back and re-register them just to access our room. No explanation or apology was provided.
Given how expensive this resort is, I expected a much higher level of service and attention to detail. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short.
- Jagdesh (7/5): - Lovely clean well looked after updated hotel Smoking policy
- Stephane (7/5): Très bien - Les restos, les piscines, le bon service du personnel. Le resto borcados excellent service sauf la nourriture tout était très froid et pas à la hauteur de qualités et du goût sauf le steak.
- Youcheng (10/5): Pleasent and a very nice stay - Everything! no
- Alexander (8/5): - Food, pool, kids' club Single Room Interior - no privacy, room cleaning, outside kids' activities
- ILONA (10/5): -
- Adeyinka (10/5): -
- Aron (10/5): -
- Maham (8/5): - Child friendly. Large and clean Crowded. Not lots of Luxury for the price
- Gvidas (2/5): Dissapointing hotel expierence - The steak restaurant and the Chinese restaurant are both very good. The food quality is excellent, and the staff in these restaurants are exceptional — professional, attentive, and genuinely welcoming. The location of the hotel is disappointing, and the seaweed in the water significantly affects the beach experience.
From the moment you arrive, guests are aggressively approached to buy memberships and real estate, which is totally unacceptable for a hotel stay. Once staff realize you are not interested, the attitude changes completely — they stop helping, including with something as basic as reserving a dinner table.
Before our arrival, we emailed the hotel six times requesting a reservation for a New Year’s dinner, yet this was never properly handled.
Tipping expectations are excessive. Staff openly demand 10–15% tips everywhere, and at the pool or beach, securing sunbeds for a family requires paying around USD 20, otherwise no help is provided. Waitstaff often will not bring cocktails if additional tips are not given, despite service charges already being included.
The overall experience feels closer to a 3-star hotel, not a luxury property. Additionally, having to sign an electronic receipt for every single drink is inconvenient and not acceptable for a hotel of this category.
- Gjoka (4/5): - not much the hotel itself was constantly hot. didn't seem like the air works properly. They restaurants were only open from 7 to 11:30 then 5:30 to 10. If you wanted to eat lunch order room service the middle of the day and wait an hour or go to the pool and order food. then for dinner you ned reservations everywhere even though the restaurants were always half full and in order to get a table you have to eat at 9 to 9:30. A total joke considering how much we paid. latly housekeeping came after 5pm one night. we told them we were realaxing come back in an hour and they said ok but never did. A lot of people working at the hotel spoke very little if any english. I would never go back
- belkıs (10/5): -
- Jean-Wilner Alexandre (10/5): -
- FARRUH (8/5): it was good - new nice rooms less activity
- Iarmenco (5/5): - Only view Lies, wrong room! Overpriced, management are lying and dont want to provide any information! No business cards, no claim book. 140$ per person for all inclusive?! 280 per couple and no food?! All food very cheap
- Mary (8/5): -
- Sarah (4/5): it was fine I wouldn't stay there again. better value elsewhere - The dinners in the restaurants were excellent and the staff were excellent. the rooms were super clean and the service was good. The worst part of the stay was having to sign a bill every single time we got a drink. I would get a coffee and then have to wait for the staff to go get the machine and scan my bracelet and then when the bracelet didnt' work because it never did and then I would have to wait of the staff to print the receipt and I would have to sign it. the whole point of being at an all inclusive was so you can just grab and go but every time room service, any bar, at the pool bar everywhere it was so annoying.
- LI JUHONG (8/5): -
- FaiZan (10/5): Great location and stay overall - Pretty much everything except for the prices, a little expensive No halal option for food
- Ololade (9/5): Great stay - Beautiful and clean family friendly resort, my kids and I had a very comfortable stay. Food was good and mostly all inclusive. Coconuts weren’t included in the all inclusive which was annoying. Some of the waiters weren’t so friendly. Food at DAO restaurant on the rooftop was exceptional and waiters went above and beyond. Tip hunger waiters
Service by the pool was a-bit slow sometimes
All inclusive felt limited
Coconuts weren’t included in the all inclusive
- Paul (10/5): -
- William (10/5): -
- Mira (10/5): Premium service - Premium service, big and clean pools, amazing food, special thanks to pool waiter Luis, family friendly enviroment, relaxed atmosphere, not crowded like in Zona hoteliera, very little sargassum in July. Reservation system for dinner, there is no restaurant where buffet dinner is served, it is hard to get reservation at desired time so you have to make reservation days ahead. You should take better care of beach as it is small, and get better sun umbrellas on beach.
- Kristine (1/5): - We got the all inclusive for three days. On the first night we got diarrhea.
- Hagop (10/5): Great resort with amazing food - Clean, well maintained and incredible staff. I didn’t see one bug, literally NOT one the entire 5 days. It was 88 degrees and 85% humidity. Hotel and room set up is great and no need for shuttles or anything like that like some Cancún resorts. Everything is 2-5 min away from each other N/A
- Jamie (9/5): Superb -
- Adi (6/5): Very expensive and I dont think it’s worth it. - The actual resort, pools and layout is wonderful. Nice warm pools, perfect temperature jacuzzi Staff was a bit slow, not attentive to orders (at the restaurantS)
- Raul (10/5): Exceptional - The food at some of the restaurants
- Diane (6/5): Nice but we won't be back- Not worth fly out to have a so-so experience - a beautiful hotel and rooms are stunning. The food amazing. Great pool- but the heater went out during the stay so the pools got really cold. When I reviewed the property on their site and Booking.com it stated All-inclusive- be very careful they quote as room only then learn at the property of the up charge for the all inclusive- Do it. When we asked for the white wines by the glass they only offer 2- the others are an upcharge to a full bottle. The property had a HOT water issue for multiple days- so no HOT showers- Some days you got turn down and some not- some days it was really late, almost late for our dinner reservation. Booking reservations for their restaurants is a must and impossible- we had to eat at the food hall one night but did get reservations for 2 other restaurants-
- Dahir (9/5): Superb -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oscar (10/5): Exceptional - Everything so good! 10/10
- Church (5/5): Passable -
- Vahid (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sam (4/5): Garza Blanca Review The room itself was fantastic, with beautiful decor and comfortable amenities. However, the managem - The rooms where great with excellent amenities Management and Customer Service
- Mor (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jayanth (5/5): Poor value, too expensive for what it offers - Oceanfront was nice and the resort is newer. Staff are friendly and professional. The common spaces are well maintaned. Terrible value for the money, weird room layout with no privacy. Can get really loud at night as well.
- Amit (10/5): Exceptional - The best resort we've ever been in! Everything was absolutely perfect ♥️ Nothing
- Gloire (10/5): I had an awesome experience at this resort - Beautiful and clean The beach had seaweed
- Jose (10/5): Exceptional - Everything None
- Joshua (5/5): Beautiful resort, but many missed opportunities to go above and beyond - New, clean, and opulent Many issues that were not resolved to our satisfaction
- Mahawa (1/5): Horrible horrible horrible !! If I had a Time Machine, I’ll go in it and delete the day I showed up - Nothing rude staff and worst experience of my life. As much as I researched Thai place. Everything from the rude staff to the manger, to everything else. Will never 👎 book this place again food was horrible
- Melissa (10/5): Best company for hotels - This is our 3rd time staying with this company. We stay in Puerto, Cabos and now Cancun. This is THE ONLY way to spend your vacation in Mexico. From the property to the style, cleanliness, lobby, SERVICE, rooms, food, and pools, everything is perfect. No matter where we go we always compare it to this hotel. Nothing can compare to it. It is that good. I stayed in 2 different 5-star hotels in Cancun, and they were absolutely horrible compared to Garza Blanca. Don’t think twice, when you’re in Mexico book with this company your stay, you won’t regret it. You won’t find something better- guaranteed No bad words- everything was amazing
- Coobielou93 (10/5): Exceptional -
- Solanie (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the service of the employees. I felt loved they even have someonr to clean yr sunglasses. The drinks were very nice and the room was clean and modern. Too little food was given especially the ceviche.
- Farhad (10/5): Just great - Great. None
- Daria (10/5): Aside from the check in process my stay was amazing. The pools and the beach were awesome! - The location of the breakfast facility was central and easy to locate. The selection of food was diverse and very good. My suite was amazing, very spacious and clean. My private pool was beautiful. I plan to return for a longer stay soon! I booked my room thru a third party service once I arrived at the hotel. (Last minute trip) I waited a little over an hour to get checked in and shown to my room. The management apologized for the wait and informed me that because I'd booked third party there was a glitch in the system that wouldn't allow them to check me in in a timely manner. I wasn't offered a drink, a meal, an upgrade at all. I was however given premium internet usage for the night. I would also like to state that although I used a third party service I still paid approximately $600 plus for the night. Aside from the check in process my stay was amazing. The pools and the beach were awesome!
- Sonya (8/5): Beautiful hotel and great service just unfortunate that the front desk was terrible - The staff was absolutely amazing and the food was great The front desk staff was rude and they overcharged me and did not give us our resort credit. Plus they did not honour our own inclusive option past 5 PM even though we were staying at the hotel until the later part of the day, and on our arrival date did not get there until 10 PM. It should be based on a 24 hour clock, and it was a terrible experience at the end of our stay, considering that everything was great until then they were not friendly at all, and were very difficult to deal with unlike the rest of the staff throughout the hotel very disappointing, and they basically ruined our last day.
- Andrei (10/5): Amazing experience - Pools / the room / the personal/ the beach/ the food
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Enrique (10/5): I loved it there definitely I would go back - The finishes are really nice and the pool water is warm so when you jump in is not uncomfortable The bathtub is like in the middle of the room and you got no privacy if you come with kids
- Mr (5/5): Nice place, spent ages trying to check in because staff couldn’t locate my booking. - Clean, staff friendly. I made a noise complaint about the room next door which was being renovated.
- Porsche (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast and excellent customer service is WiFi an tv selections
- Nasim (9/5): Superb -
- Tuniyants (5/5): Passable -
- Melody (7/5): Recommend for families and big groups - The view Felt like a hotel and not a resort
- Louise (6/5): Misguided all inclusive, poor value for money, disappointing - Some restaurant staff were pleasant It took over an hour for us to check in. When we arrived there were four groups ahead of us. Our flight had been cancelled and we were tired after a long day. Multiple staff stood around the check in desks (doing nothing) and after 30 mins I asked them to help us and they said they couldn’t only the lobby staff could help. We got to the desk after 40 mins and it still took another 20 to get checked in - for one night.
The all inclusive is not all inclusive. A lot of the dishes in all restaurants are marked as ‘premium’ and if you’re inclusive you get a 20% discount (the premium dishes are very expensive). It also does not include premium alcohol. We also elected for all inclusive and I asked at the desk if the steakhouse was included and was told it was. The steakhouse was closed for maintenance the night, which was not mentioned until we rang to book a table. So the lobby staff were not aware it was close, or else elected not to inform us. Looking at the menus, if you don’t elect for ‘all inclusive’ paying Al La carte is very expensive.
The hotel offers casting to the tv in the room, but only if you pay for premium WiFi. This is not included in the all inclusive charge and is $18 USD a day!
We chose a swim up suite and were given one which was on the ground floor facing the pool, there was no privacy, and so I don’t believe the swim up is worth it (it’s also a shared pool with all the other swim up rooms with a barrier below the water)
Overall, we were disappointed. It was almost $900 for one night and it was absolutely not worth it compared to the previous hotel we had stayed at. I do not recommend this hotel.
- Courtney (10/5): Amazing stay at an exceptional resort! - Gorgeous facilities No negatives!
- Reema (5/5): Passable -
- Rosa (8/5): Very good -
- Husam (8/5): Very good -
- Kiyeong (10/5): everything perfect - everything nothing
- Karen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gregory (10/5): Exceptional -
- A_breddy (9/5): My husband and I celebrated a relaxing “mini-moon” before our wedding party in Tulum and loved it! - We opted for the all-inclusive option and thoroughly enjoyed the food and beverage options available — especially the massive breakfast buffet! The staff throughout the hotel goes above & beyond to make you feel welcome & taken care of from the smooth check-in process to wandering through the resort to poolside service to mealtime. Even as a couple, we enjoyed quiet pockets of time and the adult pool. While the resort is family-friendly, it didn’t feel like a resort just geared to families which was nice for us.
Must-do: Be sure to watch the sunset with a cocktail at the rooftop adults-only bar before heading off to dinner. Beautiful views and nice chairs to lounge in. Try the “Trouble in Paradise” cocktail with gin, pineapple, egg white, and cinnamon. Wow!
Second tip: It’s worth it to upgrade your room to ocean view and enjoy late afternoons from your hammock on your balcony.
Time of visit tip: May was a great time to visit. Weather was still warm without being too hot & humid. The resort also wasn’t crowded at all which made getting day-of reservations easy. If you come during a busier time, make your dining reservations well in advance — especially at DAO! Would’ve liked better service at the adult pool bar, the only area we didn’t feel the service was extra special — had to actively ask a few times for a menu or service. Good to note: one wing of the resort is under construction, so we heard the building noise during the day. Not too disruptive, but be aware. Some rooms may be more impacted than others.
- Sanjeev (8/5): overall it was comfortable and enjoyed ..rooms r really good and comfortable..except the abv thing which we mentioned ab - overall ambience and rooms r really good ..food is good ..bar area opp the front desk is only good ..rest all the bar counter serve u most of the mocktail and cocktails with more water and not good …central area water is also pretty great the staff attitude is honestly very bad ..we have to literally fight at the reception to get back our deposits which they unofficially deducted without informing us ..have to literally tell them that we will have to talk to police ..but finally the manager Maria stepped in and she was really helpful and honest in her talking ..also it’s very difficult to get the reservation in any of the good restaurants for dinner for the guest who r has n full inclusive package .one has to really struggle and with no one to help .be very specific on ur chkin for what u want and take in writing especially if u are taking all inclusive package ..
- Macias (8/5): Very good -
- Benjamin (9/5): Superb -
- Glori (9/5): Superb -
- Elena (4/5): not worth the cost - rooms service and food
- Emanuel (8/5): Beautiful resort with amazing amentities. - Variety and quality of food options. The Spa is by far the best I've been to - 5 STARS! Definitely a great resort if you want to relax and unwind! Butler service was a part of the services listed and we never met a butler our entire stay. I primarily managed all of my reservations the entire stay. I also found the drinks to be very watered down. We had the best food and drinks on the rooftop but overall the cocktails could improve throughout the resort. I would like to mention some of the staff that truly went the extra mile during our stay - Gustavo (Spa), Angel (Rooftop), and Irvin (Romantic Beach Dinner). These staff members provided top tier service! Overall it was a great experience but issues with butler service, having to request towels and not receiving them, as well as ordering room service that never came did impact our experience at times. Lastly, I do like to mention that the presentations are something most guests would prefer not to be haggled with while on vacation. We appreciated that they were respectful of our time, however when coming to relax I don't want to have to think about making any major financial decisions.
